larus
Namgoong Min responds to rumors of discord with Kim Heechul, "I was just honest... I invited him to the wedding" ('Knowing Brothers') Actor Namgoong Min explained the rumors of a feud between her and Super Junior's Kim Hee-chul. Namgoong Min and Eunjin Ahn, the main characters of the MBC drama 'Lovers', appeared as guests in JTBC's 'Knowing Brothers', which aired on the January 6th. On this day, Jinho Lee said, "Namgoong Min was planning to come a long time ago, but he has a friend in our class who we don't get along with." Namgoong Min got into a fight with Kim Hee-chul on tvN's 'Life Bar', which aired in 2017, after drinking alcohol given to him by Kim Hee-chul and saying, "This drink is bad quality." The content of the broadcast was made into a clip video called 'Namgoong Min catches Kim Hee-chul with a sharp ball' and recorded over 4 million views. Regarding the rumors of a discord with Kim Hee-chul, Namgoong Min said, "The rumors of a discord only came out after spending a period of time together, but that day was the first time I saw him. He was so honest and funny after drinking, so I just spoke honestly." He added, "That's 'we don't get along well' and 'Namgoong Min hates Kim Hee-chul.' “He said he was sorry for coming out,” he explained. He continued, "I was a little relieved. Heechul played the role of Heechul, but I thought I was mistaken, so I contacted him and asked him to have a meal." Kim Hee-chul was invited to Namgoong Min's wedding and attended as a guest, and revealed that they kept in touch separately even before the recording of 'Knowing Bros'. https://www.hankooki.com/news/articleView.html?idxno=128817

larus
Ha Do-kwon praises Namgoong Min’s personality, “He has warmth” ‘Radio Star’ actor Ha Do-kwon was impressed by Namgoong Min’s personality. Actors Jang Hyuk, Kim Min-jae, Ha Do-kwon, and Kim Do-hoon appeared on MBC's entertainment show 'Radio Star' that aired on the 13th. Jang Hyuk attracted attention by revealing that he was working without an agency for the first time since his debut. Jang Hyuk said, “For the first time in 26 years since my debut, I am alone without a manager. “It’s great to be able to make plans and think about things on my own,” he said, adding that he was satisfied with the current situation where he moves on his own. Jang Do-yeon asked, “I heard you got lost at MBC on the way.” Jang Hyuk said, “Of course I drive myself. But today, on my way to MBC Mall, I got lost. “It was very confusing,” he said with an embarrassed smile. Next, Jang Hyuk said about working without a manager, “The story about appearance fees is just a matter of unit price. “The more upset you are, the more you talk,” he said sarcastically, making people laugh. Jang Hyuk, who is said to be obsessed with studying English, praised his best friend Kim Jong-guk's English skills, saying, "I receive English tutoring twice a week, and the other two times I study on my own." Actor Ha Do-kwon boasted an extraordinary eloquence from the beginning. Ha Do-kwon said, “I met Kim Gu-ra on ‘Late Night Ghost Story.’ There were so many complaints. “He complained about whether ghost stories would work these days,” he said, revealing Kim Gura’s first impression of him. He continued, “But one day, I went back and saw that they were filming over 100 times. He even worked really hard,” he said, bringing laughter as he mentioned Kim Gura’s changed attitude. Also, when Jang Hyuk kept saying, "I'm a romantic actor, not an action actor," Ha Do-kwon commented, "But aren't you also a martial arts director?" Ha Do-kwon said, “I teamed up with Jang Hyuk in ‘Red Single Heart.’ My role is undercover warrior. I asked the director. I also asked Jang Hyuk if he was doing action, but he said he wasn't doing it. “But when I saw the scene where Yeonguijeong was looking at the sword, he swung the sword alone once,” he grumbled. Jang Hyuk kept throwing up his hands, but he showed extraordinary physical strength by personally demonstrating the training methods used at Shaolin Temple. Ha Do-kwon did not forget to mention box office hits. Ha Do-kwon said, “’Stove League’ and ‘The Last Empress’ were all successful at the box office. However, not long ago, ‘Marry My Husband’ achieved the highest viewer ratings. “I’m grateful,” he said. “The writer of ‘My Boyfriend’ said, ‘Oppa, he wanted to do a melodrama. I am writing. I will definitely do it. wait. He said, ‘My co-star is actress Gong Min-jeong.’ “I waited because I really liked Gong Min-jeong’s acting,” he said, adding that he expected romance, but there was none. Meanwhile, Ha Do-kwon did not spare praise for Namgoong Min, whom he met at the drama set. At the time of 'Stove League', Ha Do-kwon, who played the role of Kang Doo-gi, and Namgoong Min, who played the role of Baek Seung-soo, were on the same set, but they were in different positions as the lead actor and supporting actor. Ha Do-kwon said, “Namgoong Min is very professional and does his work neatly. He was snooping around because he wanted to monitor things, but actor Namgoong Min was listening with earphones connected to the monitor. He said to me, ‘Brother, would you like to listen?’ and put earphones in his ears. “I fell in love with the warmth,” he said. “But I also wanted to buy equipment and connect. The manager said, ‘You wouldn’t do it,’” he said, making everyone laugh. https://biz.chosun.com/entertainment/enter_general/2024/03/14/BRKUHGQNJLD4VIAANF3IUO4WX4/

larus
[Interview] That Man Wasn't There, Actor Nam Goong Min 2024-07-16 Article: Jeong Jae-hyeon Photo: Oh Gye-ok Looking back at Nam Goong Min's works that received favorable responses from viewers, he has always played a man who was suddenly transplanted from another culture. Bong Maru in <Can You Hear My Heart> voluntarily turned his back on his poor original family and chose to be reborn as the adopted son of Woo Kyung Group. Kim Seong-ryong, the manager of <Chief Kim>, joins the accounting department of TQ Group with his talent in handling the accounting books of a local organized crime syndicate and ultimately realizes justice with the male members who dislike him. Not to mention Baek Seung-soo, the new manager of the baseball team Jaesong Dreams in <Stove League>, and Lee Jang-hyun in <Lovers>, who suddenly settles down in Neunggun-ri and stirs up the villagers' ire. In <Doctor Prisoner>, Na-i-je goes to the West Seoul Prison to take revenge, and in <Black Sun>, Han Ji-hyeok erases a year’s worth of his past memories and becomes a new person to enter the National Intelligence Service. Namgoong Min’s men, who seemed like black sheep among white sheep, finally blend in with the stagnant community and succeed in changing its culture. Like the men who were not there, Namgoong Min also completely erased himself and satisfied and convinced all the expectations poured into the ‘Namgoong Min drama’. He became the lead actor of a work whose title is the first-person protagonist and won three acting awards in four years. We looked back at the time when a young male actor suddenly appeared one day and became trusted just by his name before even seeing his work, in his 30s and 40s. - The work that first made many people realize Namgoong Min’s true worth was Bongmaru from Can You Hear My Heart (2011). Even now, you can often find comments looking for ‘Maru Oppa’ on posts related to Namgoong Min. The journey of Maru, a good boy who turns into a bad man, was very pitiful. Although he certainly committed evil deeds, he also had a pitiful side, which earned him the support of viewers. At that time, if you played a villain, you were hated by viewers. When I appeared on MBC's <News Desk> due to the popularity of the work, I was even asked, "How can you get a good response from viewers when you're a villain?" At that time, I didn't have much acting experience and was gaining a lot of experience, but the production conditions were different from now, so all filming was done in a rush. Still, I did my best and I have no regrets about this work. - According to the interview with <Cine21> at the time, he prepared a separate camcorder to check his acting on the spot. Judging from the <Stove League> filming site revealed on <I Live Alone>, it seems he continued to carry a camera to monitor his acting. It's probably the same for all actors. I'm not always satisfied with my acting. Don't they only put together the best cuts for broadcast? As I was thinking about how to act well, the best thing to do was to increase the time for reflection. If I increased the number of times I looked back on my acting that I was disappointed with, I could find more areas that I thought were lacking and fix them, so I started monitoring. Before camcorders, it was cell phones. As video technology advances, the devices are also developing. (Laughs) - 2015, when he played Kwon Jae-hee in <The Girl Who Sees Smells> and Nam Gyu-man in <Remember: War of the Son>, was an important turning point in actor Nam Goong-min’s filmography. Both characters were psychopathic murderers. How do you remember the time when you played roles that were bound to require a lot of emotional ups and downs and energy? I didn’t think the two roles overlapped. If Jae-hee was an I (introvert) type of MBTI, Gyu-man was an E (extrovert) type. Jae-hee was a murderer and a gentlemanly star chef. In today’s terms, it was like Joe (Penn Badgley) in the Netflix series <All About You>. At the time, it was a very unique story and character, so there was no reason to turn it down. Gyu-man was clearly a bad guy, but he had a nice side. At first, he wasn’t a character who got angry that easily, but when he acted in a rude manner, many people liked him. I remember the day early on in the production when we were filming the scene where Gyu-man beats Dong-ho (Park Sung-woong) on the rooftop. I thought I was less angry as Gyu-man, so I said I would do it again just once, but the director looked puzzled and showed me the footage. He was so angry that I wondered if there was another level. (Laughs) When we were filming <Remember - War of the Son>, there was a time when we didn't have a stylist. I went around to tailor shops myself and tailored each three-piece suit. At the time, my older brother, who was a suit expert, lived next door, so before every shoot, I would lay out all the suits on the floor and think about the combination of the top and bottom while making Gyu-man. Thanks to the training I received back then, I'm now somewhat adept at combining suits. - <Stove League> was chosen by both critics and the public. Baek Seung-soo is a PT genius who doesn’t even need to say “I” to get the crowd to be moved by his words. He is also a leader with strong self-confidence, so he asks the other person, “Why do you think that is?” when he already knows the answer. He is the owner of an interesting way of speaking in many ways. He doesn’t force the right answer himself, but every sentence he writes implies “I am right,” so it is an annoying character for the listener. When Baek Seung-soo briefs the existing members of Jaesong Dreams to enforce his judgment, I thought that his words should not be emphasized. He needed a more sophisticated way of speaking than “I am the main character, so you should listen to me.” That’s how I created Baek Seung-soo’s signature indifferent tone, and the director also thought about how to direct in a way that would make good use of this. When you speak like Baek Seung-soo, the listener will accept the other person’s argument more strongly. I also don’t want to… argue with Baek Seung-soo. - In <Black Sun>, the second drama that won the acting award, he performed intense action scenes in each episode, such as car chases and gunfights. His action scenes continued right up to his next work, <Lovers>. From <Black Sun> onwards, I fiercely planned with the martial arts director how the action would look. Like a curriculum, they would go to the action school and practise endlessly after understanding the cut transitions and strikes. Ji-hyuk is a warrior, a man who could be said to have come back from hell, so he can't help but cry on the street. He was working out six days a week for three hours a day to bulk up, and the physical and mental pain was reflected in his body. "I started working out with the intention of showing the world that I've been working out since my debut, but it wasn't easy. There were many days when I would sit in the shower and cry in the corner. - He has released some of his acting notes, including the monitoring camera mentioned above, where he writes down self-feedback on his performance. The motivation to continually check his performance comes from the fact that, like a vocal trainer, he records the mechanics of his vocal tract and the phonetic features of Korean phonology. I wrote a note yesterday too. If I were to evaluate myself, I am an emotional person who delicately feels the depth of emotions, but that does not mean I am an actor with a natural talent for acting. That is why I have no choice but to endlessly reflect on the results and work hard. I study everything I can out of anxiety that I might be missing something. And in front of the camera, I always practice taking out everything I have learned before. Since the efforts I have already made remain inside me, the moment I become obsessed with what I wrote down in my notes on set, I might get lost in other thoughts or become excessive. I also received vocal training to properly train my vocalization and studied the body organs. Through that time, I realized that the vocal cords are grounded by emotions. Rather than endlessly analyzing and giving orders in my head, if I focus on the emotions I have to act now, I can produce the voice I want. All the time invested like that gave me confidence as an actor and raised my self-esteem. I believe that there is destiny in a scene. If I could act to my fullest today but didn't reach my ability, that is also destiny. However, if I repeatedly do my best during the preparation process, that in itself becomes self-esteem and returns to me as trust. I think that the accumulated time creates depth as an artist. http://m.cine21.com/news/view/?mag_id=105483
