Devine.Integrity Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 UPDATED* 12.1 megapixel camera, HD video recording, Transparent Keypad-SONY ERICSSON SONY ERICSSON IDOU This year at Mobile World Congress- Sony Ericcson revealed there latest upcoming "monster" media cellphone known as "Idou" [Pronounced I do]. This phone will feature a huge display, and a whopping 12.1 megapixel camera, by far the largest operated megapixel camera phone in the GSM network. It will also have a xenon flash which is the flash used for digital cameras.[Excluding Japan and Korea]. It has GPS and Wifi and will be the FIRST EVER Symbian Sony Ericsson phone to date. [Note: Symbian has always been used by Nokia since they own it.] *NEW SONY ERICSSON W995 [Hikaru] I forgot to add this in the beginning. But this is the first ever walkman phone from SE to sport a useful 3.5 millimeter jack for regular headphones, yeah no big deal, since the iphone already has one, but to top it off, this phone will come with an 8.0 megapixel camera on board with wifi and GPS. This will also come with an 8GB memory stick. -SAMSUNG SAMSUN OMNIA HD Samsung outdid it with their newly announced Samsung Omnia HD! whats unique about this phone? Well, like its name, it records videos in HD, which is the first phone to ever do that. It has an 8.1 megapixel camera, and wifi, GPS, and DIVX support. This too will also run on Nokia's Symbian platform. -NOKIA NOKIA N97 Finally we have here the N97 which is Nokia's flagship to date. It has a useful QWERTY keyboard with a 5 megapixel camera running on Symbian OS. It has GPS and the whatnots. *NEW Nokia N86 Nokia's very first 8MP camera Nothing new here, beside it being a 8mp camera, but its basically an N85 with an 8MP camera. Not only that but it comes with a whopping 8GB of internal memory and a very useful fm transmitter like its predecessors. Same specs as the other N-Series. -LG *NEW LG GD900 An interesting feature about this phone is the transparent keypad that it offers. The phone runs on Windows Mobile and comes with an 8mp Camera. No extra news about this yet, but once it does come up Ill update it. Are these the iphone killers? No. The iphone has been killed ages ago. Its just America is sadly in the iphone phase still. Who will sell a lot in the end? Who know. Im putting my money on the Idou and the Omnia, but Nokia still has a chance since its the best selling cellphone company. credits to GSM and Sony Ericsson Blog

Guest Joanne <3 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Hot damn!! The Idou is a stunner! But overall, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on any one of those 3 (in the following order: Idou > Nokia N97 > Omnia HD). Amazing features and good looking, too.

Guest hangook/korea Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Are these the iphone killers? No. The iphone has been killed ages ago. Its just America is sadly in the iphone phase still. LOL . so true . If it's dead then what dominates the smartphone market now? The iPhone is still alive and well considering the economy is dead. The app store is what gives the iPhone it's huge advantage. Is it the best phone out there? No. You can get phones with better cameras, better phone service, etc. I am not arguing that the hardware is superior. But the iPhone's software is superior for its choice of applications. AT&T is the only thing that can seriously hurt the iPhone due to the lousy/pricey service (and what is holding me back). Nokia's App store is not catering to only one handset, so that gives it an advantage over Apple. But it depends on how they implement it and how they can get developers to start programing for it. We'll just have to see. Android was a big disappointment, the HTC Magic is nice, but why not America??? I'm beginning to lose faith, but we'll see what happens. The return policy is nice. Everybody says "we'll bring out an android handset, but HTC seems to be the only one who isn't all talk. T-mobile should have gotten the HTC Magic, that was kind of at the top of my list. Well, we'll see what the Palm Pre can offer.
Guest grey_ic3. Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 IDOU's camera has got me very interested.
