Guest who8myoreos Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 a house full of insanely gorgeous people walking around without personalities.....I don't know it seems wrong to me. But I suppose that's how we're SUPPOSED to feel....it's really up to that one black guy and the mysterious blond guy to redeem this show and help these "dolls" break free, but neither of them seem like strong actors. I get the feeling that they invested everything in Eliza Dushku, which I think is a mistake. As insanely hot as she is, she's not a good actress.
Guest res0nate Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Dushku, Williams and Acker. So gooooooooood.I never cared for Buffy and Angel, so if it wasn't for Whedon's Firefly/Serenity, I might not have given this show a look. Friday night death slot = typical Fox move.
Guest -ohdarn- Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I think she's hot... this role fits her well too. I hope this series is as good as his past series.
Guest kiss*kiss Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Dushku looks like a vampire (something about her mouth and teeth). The pilot/first ep was OKAY.I just want to know who that creepy (naked?) guy was sitting on the table watching an old vid of Echo. That piqued my interest (same with the kick boxing scene).
azn*gurlie Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I thought it was an okay episode....kindda bland...But that naked guy at the end was really creepy. I'm so curious as to who he is.I felt a really strong emotion when the lids/doors closed up on them when they go to sleep though
Guest Da Xing Di Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 ^yeah, it mada me feel uneasy too, how they closed up...anyway, liked the 1st ep, it was interesting, that naked guy was sure weird though...
Guest mezzxanne Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I thought for the first episode it was pretty good. It def keeps you going, so I can't wait for next week! ^^
aznchic209 Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 I thought for the first episode it was pretty good. It def keeps you going, so I can't wait for next week! ^^YEPS! I agree!!! First episodes never really PULL me in...but for a first episode,it was pretty good. There's plenty of mysteries and curiositiesto keep us wanting more! The CREEP at the end has it for Echo. What a weirdo :S
Guest Mirae-chan Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 The pilot was AMAZING; I was sure it was going to be amazing at first since it's Joss, but then I had doubts, but when I actually finally saw it I was not disappointed at all. ♥
Guest moot11 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I deff. wouldn't say the pilot was disappointing, but as far as first episodes go, it certainly was not spectacular. The pilot received a lot of bad press in the media, which was truly sad, because I believe given the chance, Dollhouse really has the potential to be something wonderful. The Friday night scheduling is a bit perplexing, and truly disappointing. But as long as Fox gives this series support and time to grow, I'll be happy. *The wounds from the cancellation of Firefly are still fresh*
Guest csnrain Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 story is interesting but Eliza Dushku just isn't that great of an actor; she was okay as a side character in Buffy but as a lead? eh...
Guest Christinaisweird Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 gotta watch it soon man.since i missed it last week.can't miss it tomorrow, that is if i'm not on the computer.darn, going to watch it soooooon.the main girl looks like the other girl in the terminator.
Guest loveprint Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I thought the first episode was alright, nothing too great. I was actually expecting more. But It's Whedon, so it's worth it. Hoping it gets a bit better? I don't mind Eliza Dushku too much... D:
Guest x_lori Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 This seems interesting. It has been awhile since I last seen Eliza Dushku. I loved her in Tru Calling, sucks that it was canceled.
a m a r a n t h Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Second episode was today~I was pretty nervous for her during the hunt, that dude was so crazy omg, when he said he was hunting herI was like... are you kidding? Can't wait for next week
aznchic209 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Dollhouse's second episode came on tonight!!!!I guess they were trying to explain who that CREEPY guy was...apparently, his name is ALPHA and he was an active too??At least, that's what we think!!!!!!!What the heck...how did the perfect date turn into a hunting game?!?! LOLS! The only thing that irritated me was thatEcho was programmed to have this guy's personality andabilities...and yet when he went after her, she was HELPLESS...until the END! :fury: Can't wait for next week's episode! haha...
Guest sirce Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Just watched the second ep. I have to say that I found this way more interesting than the first one. The first one showed you an interesting set-up, but kind of clichéd situation (with the kindnap/rape imprint). But the second ep was more thrilling and explained a lot, which really helped. But yeah, I was also like 'huh?' when he was suddenly hunting her. Talk about not-so-smooth transition. Only downside to me right now is that Dollhouse is just not that funny. In both episodes combined there were only a few not-so-funny jokes. But you know, I kind of expected at least snarky or witty or dry jokes, because to me that's also Joss Whedon. (I know Dollhouse is drama, but frankly, the drama is not that great. The drama mostly comes from the story set-up.) Also, anyone else feel that the Actives are just getting pimped out? Instead of Dollhouse, I keep thinking of whorehouse. The concept is still interesting though, so I'll keep watching it for now.
Guest Rainie Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Last night's episode was more interesting than the first. But all of sudden, the guy starts hunting Echo? Like wow...talk about a psychopath. So is the Dollhouse organization lying to them that Alpha's been killed? I wonder why they'd do that...cuz it's pretty obvious that he's still out there after the first to episodes. It's getting more interesting because this Alpha guy is linked to Echo, there's a reason behind why he didn't kill her and wants the investigator to find her when he sent him that picture of Echo.
Guest Da Xing Di Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 the 2nd ep was sure exciting!but so weird how some parts do remain in their memories after the wiping...like the shoulder+wheel stuff at the end?
Guest Sephiroth101 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 The 2nd episode was very interesting and good. The series got me hooked. This season is only 13 episodes long. It will be interesting to see how much they do fit in.
