aznchic209 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Starring Eliza DushkuWelcome to the Fox's Dollhouse Starring: Eliza Dushku Created by: Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly) Season premieres FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2009 In Dollhouse, Eliza Dushku plays a young woman called Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls." The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They're then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware. Here is a link to the promo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WwPpfyPUC8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm DEFINITELY going to be watching this tonight!! It's been a long time we've seen Eliza Dushku...I really loved watching on her "Tru Calling." She's BACK and this show is going to be awesome! I love the whole concept of it! Linwe Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Joss Whedon's creativity is awesome! will be eagerly following this though I'm not in the US...Eliza is very suited for these kick-richard simmons these roles and I'm getting Jessica Alba/Dark Angel vibes from the show too. OOh excited!!
Guest prisonerzero Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I'm recording this along with Terminator since I'll be out tonight watching Friday the 13th. I'm looking forward to it.
Guest ninyaah Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 sounds really interesting... i think i'll watch it =)

Guest Sephiroth101 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Soon as I saw Eliza was in it I knew I have to watch it. The show does look promising. Eliza is doing quite a few interviews of late. Here is the one with Conan last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_l67eHYZBY
Guest sirce Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Well, to me the concept does not sound too attractive, but I'm gonna watch for Eliza and Joss Whedon. I hope it is interesting enough that I will keep following it.
Guest Aireia Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I love Joss Whedon's ideas. I'll try to keep up with this show. Hopefully I'll enjoy it as mush as I enjoyed Buffy...
Guest diru Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Joss Whedon is awesome. This show will be on my radar but I probably won't be able to watch it cause I don't think any Australian networks have bought it yet.
Guest tiffanitrix Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 lol my math teacher wrote dollhouse in huge letters today in class and spent a really long time summarizing the plot and demanding that we watch this show. hahhah i went to youtube and watched the promo and episode clips and it looks really interesting eliza dushku's really pretty. haha
Guest SilentDream Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I loved the first episode, it was pretty good and I'm excited for the next one!
Guest tiffanitrix Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 do you think its uploaded somewhere already? i can't watch on tv.
Guest Bronwen Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I loved the first episode, it was pretty good and I'm excited for the next one! First episode was awesome! I can't wait for the next episode too! The episode has a disjointed feeling which fits considering what happens to the 'dolls' every time they finish an engagement. I see many familiar actors and actresses! And Amy Acker! T__T I wonder what mission that brought about to death of those people who knew Echo? It looks to be her parents...and why the hell is the guy naked?? And man, Tamoh is hot. I knew he can do Muay Thai but seeing him do it is freaking awesome.
Guest Rainie Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 ^I tuned in for the first episode too! And it was so good...and I agree, the last part was just so weird, and it sure does look like they're her parents or at least people who knew her, because those were family videos. It's kind of sad though...she doesn't even know who they are anymore, and I wonder why she chose to become Echo. The beginning office scene didn't really give me any clues...
aznchic209 Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Yes, first episode finally came on tonight!!! I was so STOKED!!!! I think it's gonna be interesting seeing ECHO play all of these different people and personalities... one thing that confused me though...is...when they program each "Active," do they actually use other people's personalities who have actually DIED?!! I mean, do they just wipe out all of their memories and save them so they can program them into the Actives?? What's up?? lol. Because I think the guy that was doing the program...said that the girl whose personality is in Echo died because she didn't escape from her kidnapper?? Something like that... BUT anywho, loved loved the first episode...can't wait to see more... Echo and the guy she was with at the beginning was cute sad her memories were erased ^I tuned in for the first episode too! It's kind of sad though...she doesn't even know who they are anymore, and I wonder why she chose to become Echo. The beginning office scene didn't really give me any clues... Those people were definitely people who knew her...I'm guessing they were her parents too... The beginning office scene, I think...was Echo before she became Echo. The Dollhouse lady, if you listen carefully, called Echo "Caroline." I think that was her name before they named her Echo. The Dollhouse lady was trying to explain to "Caroline" what she would be doing at the Dollhouse...

The girl who Echo became didn't die as a child...she grew up (after she was thrown into the river) and took on the profession of a kidnapping negotiator. As for the first part, I understood that she was negotiating with the boss of Dollhouse regarding how her actions had consequences, and she was introducing a new life for her...so I'm assuming that in her previous life, she'd done something bad. But nothing in her previous life has been leaked yet...I can't even guess what profession she had because I don't think they've mentioned anything just yet.
Guest lampshade Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 gah, i missed it. joss whedon is osm.
Guest Sephiroth101 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 A very good 1st show. It turn out better then I thought. Next week episode look to be very good as well.
Guest prisonerzero Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 My DVR must like Dollhouse more than Terminator 'cause when I woke up, Dollhouse was the only thing left. D: Haha. Right now, Echo reminds me a little bit of Cameron (Terminator: SCC) with the memory wiping and the personality kind of thing. Even though Sierra (that was her, wasn't it?) only showed up for a few minutes near the end, she's already my favourite character for some reason. First episodes never excite me so much, same with this series right now. I'll watch a few more until I come up with a better opinion.
Guest Sephiroth101 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 http://www.hulu.com/dollhouse The 1st episode is on hulu.
