Kim So-eun is a good actress; I'm very pleased with her performance as Chu Ga-eul in Boys Before Flowers. With my recent interest in sageuk dramas and the like, I'll probably check out Empress Chun Chu.

I found an article that covers an interview with her in two parts. I've translated or summarized the main tidbits from both parts. If anyone feels like there is a correction or an improvement to be made, please let me know.

Part 1: "I want to become the second (generation) Ha Ji-won"

• "Originally, I had an interest in designing, so I was thinking about taking that path. But one day, I considered an acquaintance's suggestion that I take up acting, and in my third year of high school, I took the first step by appearing in a Chocolate Pie advertisement."
  
• She plays golf and does fencing. She has been skiing for over 10 years ever since she was in elementary school, and is said to have a talent for it.
  
• "[My personality] is closer to that of an Amazon than of a princess. I'm stubborn, and there are more instances of me being fiery than not. Of course, when I watching [my performance] on TV with my family, I feel awkward and become embarrassed, but as I film in Empress Chun Chu, I think I'm becoming less affected."
  
• "I like Ha Ji-won sunbae. Whenever I see her preparing for her work, it seems like she plays a variety of different roles smoothly and believably. I want to become an actress who can show that clearly. As I work hard and challenge myself, I want to make a living as a flexible actress.*" (*literal translation: actress of many colors)
  
• "I wish that when people see me, they will think that I have my own merits as Kim So-eun and that I'm an actress who works hard more than anything. Rather than being told that I'm pretty, I would rather hear more about my acting skills."
  

Part 2: "I don't see any member of the F4 as my ideal guy."

• "I don't think I've experienced love before. And I haven't [romantically] loved someone before. As I film for Boys Before Flowers, I think I'll probably learn about what that is."
  
• When asked about if she saw her ideal guy in any of F4, Kim So-eun responded: "I don't think [my ideal guy] exists among the F4 [characters]. I like a person who is very considerate of others' feelings better than a good-looking flower boy."
  
• Kim Bum and Kim So-eun are friends who were in contact early on during their time in the film and theater department of Chung-Ang University's media and performance art school. "But then Bum was busy with East of Eden after Unstoppable High Kick at the same time I had a very tight schedule preparing for two dramas, so recently, we haven't been able to keep in touch. At this point, all we've really been able to do is sometimes see each other on the set. As the story goes on, we'll probably be able to see each other more often." Acting as a character who falls in love with Kim Bum's makes her feel embarrassed, because she just thinks of him as a friend, and doesn't think she'll become comfortable with the idea.

i'm really glad the producers did a good job in casting her for BOF. i haven't seen chun chu but i've heard she's good in it.

her kiddie pics dont look like her though. not in the she had surgery way but more like she grew really pretty as she got older.

Hehe, pardon me but reading this makes me root for them even more. They both look really really good together and I hope when Kimbum said he didn't have any kiss scene in the drama, he probably hadn't gotten the script for later episodes, hehehe.

and i like her mindset. i didnt know she was on Empress Chun Chu. must watch out for her. i believe she will have good acting talent.
