peonie
Lee Byung Hun’s High Cut Magazine Interview: on how Al Pacino helped him with his panic disorder condition On March 17, actor Lee Byung-hun (LBH) sat for the fashion magazine "HIGH CUT" photo shoot. He was also interviewed by a reporter from the magazine. In the photo shoot, LBH appeared more friendly compared to his appearances in his previous roles. Although one can still see the traces of “Inside Men” Ahn Sang-goo in him, but with props which are not really suitable for LBH such as toy guns, ice cream, small tea cups, the screen he presented is full of humour. Particularly the red background, allowed LBH to look full of tenderness and charm. After the photo shoot, LBH was interviewed by the reporter. He spoke of the 88th Academy Awards, Hollywood actor Al Pacino and his wife Lee Min-jung. LBH talked to reporters and said: “The night before the 88th Academy Awards ceremony, I had dinner with Al Pacino. I told him that I need to present on stage tomorrow, and that I was nervous to death. He said that’s normal. When he stood on the Oscar stage, he was also shaking. When I started to talk to him about my panic disorder symptoms, he already noticed and asked if I was breathing hard? He then said, are you nervous when you are shooting a movie? Just pretend that you are not standing on stage but rather the person you are acting is on stage. I understood and was able to eliminate a lot of my anxiety, I felt I was just by myself. Regarding the Hollywood film “Misconduct” in which LBH worked together with Al Pacino, LBH said: “ Shintaro Shimosawa, a director of US Televison drama series who was making a debut in directing movies, invited Al Pacino to star in the movie. In addition, he was also in negotiation with Anthony Hopkins. When I heard Al Pacino would star in the movie, I already had my answer. When would I have the opportunity to cooperate with Al Pacino in my lifetime? Thereafter, LBH said he hardly watch Television dramas. “ So far, I have only watched my own dramas and “ Hourglass” a drama series which starred Go Hyun-jung , Choi Min Soo, Lee Jung Jae, etc. Now, I also watched TV drama series that my his wife is acting in. Finally, the reporter asked whether he would help Lee Min-jung to practice her lines at home. LBH said with a smile: “ Usually I would ask her if she needed my help to practice her lines. However, she would always answer vaguely as if she was embarrassed. rubie
March 29, 2016 INSIDE MEN to Infiltrate Hong KongTheatrical Release to Follow HKIFF Selection by Pierce Conran / KoBiz Following its Best Actor win for LEE Byung-hun at the Asian Film Awards in Macau and its selection for the Hong Kong International Film Festival this month, political thriller Inside Men has secured a theatrical release in Hong Kong, which will kick off on April 21st. Released in Korea last November, Inside Men became a massive hit for distributor Showbox, garnering 7.07 million viewers (USD 48.43 million) during its initial run and another 2.08 million viewers (USD 14.52 million) when the director’s cut version (Inside Men: The Original) was released at the end of the year. Directed by WOO Min-ho, who previously made Man Of Vendetta (2010) and The Spies (2012), Inside Men features LEE as a gangster who is double-crossed when he uncovers the secret relationship between a major corporation and a presidential aspirant. After losing his arm and laying flow for a few years, he returns to get his revenge. CHO Seung-woo (Marathon, 2005) co-stars as the driven district attorney whom he teams up with and BAEK Yoon-sik (Save the Green Planet, 2003) features as the editor of a major newspaper with skin in the game. The film was a major return to form for LEE after the disappointing returns of period action-thriller Memories of the Sword (2015), in which he starred alongside JEON Do-yeon. Inside Men has already been released in Australia and New Zealand and bowed in Japanese theaters on March 10th.

peonie
Lee Byung-hun felt honoured being able to cooperate with top Hollywood actors. Charismatic Lee Byung Hun who acted as the “hit man” in the movie “Misconduct” was commissioned to investigate the truth of the matter. When interviewed, he explained that in order to show the mind and inner feelings of the “hitman” he had to think a lot. He also introduced his role. For his role, Lee Byung-hun said, "I am very gratified that this role did not require an Asian actor. This work differs from his previous Hollywood movies and has become a turning point in Lee Byung-hun’s career. Not only did he shared the stage with Al Pacino, one of his most respected actors, he can continue to show his unique acting style and charisma. The movie tells the story of the investigation on a pharmaceuticals company’s bribery case as well as a murder. It will be released on March 30. rubie
@peonie Thanks so much Barbara for the double treats, the High Cut interview and the Misconduct-Al Pacino insights by Lee Byung Hun. It's really great to be able to read a complete article on his interviews. Though a couple of entertainment sites have mentioned about the High Cut interview particularly, it doesn't update in such detail. So, this is such a wonderful sharing to have. Nonetheless, we love all the sharing at the thread, right. Kudos to everyone sharing! Whatever we might feel about some of his choices of Hollywood projects, one can't deny that he is extremely lucky to be able to work with great actors, some of whom are his own favorite thespians. Of all the 5 films so far, personally for me, RED 2 is the most memorable and acting alongside Helen Mirren remained the one most outstanding. While the GI Joe movies may not be the most impressive projects, I thought playing Storm Shadow is his most spot-on comic character, a perfect cast. However, as the highlight shared by @letzparty, maybe one day he will collaborate with Leonardo, not because of the survey but the work they represent and that they already knew each other. Who knows, GIF from the High Cut clip
