Lee Byung Hun and “Inside Men” director Woo Min Ho may  collaborate again in “Heads of Nanshan” (a translation)

 

 

On June 5, according to the film industry news, Lee Byung Hun is in positive discussion with “Inside Men” director Woo Min Ho in his new movie “ Heads of Namsan”.

 

“Heads of Namsan” is a film based on the book of the same name. The book used the Ministers of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency and their planning politics as the material to reveal the inside story of Korean politics.

 

The film will be a reconstruction based on the stories of Kim Jae Gyu and Kim Hyong Uk, who were both Directors of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency.  Kim Hyong Uk disappeared when the late President Park Chung Hee was in power.  Until now, the disappearance of Kim Hyong Uk is still a mystery in modern history.  The film is expected to start with the story of Kim Jae Gyu in the centre of the disappearance of Kim Hyong Uk.  Lee Byung Hun was offered the part to play Kim Jae Gyu.

Lee Byung Hun is one of the few actors in South Korea that can take on action as well as dramatic roles.  He is an action superstar in South Korea.  His achievements in Hollywood are remarkable.  His contribution to the South Korean Film Industry is enormous.  It is true that young male actors are plentiful in South Korea.  However, when aesthetics are judged,  Lee Byung Hun stood out.  Therefore, the new generation of young male actors need to focus on body building.  They can no longer just rely just upon their handsome faces to make a living.

Terminator Genisys Released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray

Today, Terminator Genisys was released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. The movie originally hit theaters on July 1, 2015 and was released to Blu-Ray and DVD on November 10, 2015, but today (June 12, 2018) is the first availability of the 4K ultra high definition version.

 

It’s a film that really takes advantage of the benefits of 4K and HDR. The movie was finished in 2K (although shot with even higher resolution digital cameras), which is much higher than 1080p and will translate into a sharp detailed image. Also, the movie is quite dark, especially for the first half, so the benefits of high dynamic range will really shine with the shadow details, not to mention the explosions, laser blasts, and red-eyed terminators. Besides for the high video quality, movies like this are why multi channel sound systems with beefy subwoofers are so important, and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack will not disappoint.

Thank you @rubie for sharing there beautiful stills.  Lee Byung Hun looked amazingly  young and handsome.  It is hard to imagine that he will turn 48 next month.  Waiting to watch "Mr. Sunshine" with much anticipation.

It's a good thing that the character of Eugene Choi is a clean-shaven and well-attired army officer.. we'd get to see BH sporting similar features when he's not filming. When he appeared for public events while filming Mag7, keeping up with the character (through facial hair, tanned skin) got him unnecessary criticism.

Lee Byung Hun exudes a charismatic aura for “Mr. Sunshine.”

 

Upcoming tvN drama “Mr. Sunshine” is about a Korean man who left for the United States as a boy and returns home as an adult, American soldier. The drama is written by Kim Eun Sook and directed by Lee Eung Bok, who will be reuniting once again, having previously collaborated on hit dramas “Descendants of the Sun” and “Goblin.”

 

Lee Byung Hun plays American marine officer Eugene Choi, who ran away from his owner’s home at nine years old and sailed off to America. He returns home to Korea, during a time when the country is undergoing rapid change.

 

In the released photos, Lee Byung Hun perfectly embodies an American soldier. Whether its in his marine uniform or in civilian clothing, he exudes a fierce charisma with a gaze that would make anyone falter.

 

 

“Mr. Sunshine” will mark Lee Byung Hun’s drama comeback in nine years. A source from the drama stated, “Lee Byung Hun’s character Eugene Choi is an unconventional character that you normally don’t see in dramas. Please look forward to how his acting and how he will portray Eugene Choi.”

 

“Mr. Sunshine” is slated to air after “Lawless Lawyer,” with its premiere on July 7 at 9 p.m. KST.

The creative tandem flaunts a combination of stellar drama roster which includes The Heirs, A Gentleman’s Dignity, Secret Garden, Discovery of Love, Secret Love and School 2013. Such great dramas came from these showrunners that it’s hard not to anticipate another amazing story.

 

 

Boasting South Korea’s representative actor Lee Byung Hun and powered by all-star main cast of Kim Tae Ri (Little Forest), Yoo Yeon Seok (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim), Kim Min Jung (Man to Man) and Byun Yo Han (Six Flying Dragons), the hype for tvN’s upcoming weekend drama keeps on skyrocketing.

 

Mr. Sunshine will be Lee Byung Hun’s return to the small screen after 9 years since spy drama IRIS. Kim Tae Ri of The Handmaiden fame will officially make her television debut.

 

The new tvN historical series treads on the story of a boy who boarded a warship during the Shinmiyangyo, a United States expedition to Korea in 1871. He then returns to his native country in late Joseon era as an American soldier.

 

 

The released character posters and sketches reflect Lee taking the role of Choi Yoo Jin, a US Marine Corps captain, with Kim Tae Ri sporting a strong gaze holding a rifle as a famous Joseon freedom fighter. All main characters symbolically expressed their lives in the catastrophic time of late Joseon era.

 

Mr. Sunshine replaces Lawless Lawyer for the weekend time slot starting July 7.
