Kim JaeJoong : Idols will be blamed if they do rock?



Kim Jaejoong is back with rock. Top idol Kim Jaejoong that the fan girls go wild for, chose rock as the genre of his first solo album, which is an issue in the music industry.
Kim Jaejoong, whose skill was acknowledged as a rock vocal through ‘It’s only my world’, ‘For you’, etc., shows other charm unlike in JYJ’s activities, in his mini-album ‘Mine’, with his husky and rough treble.
The public may feel uncomfortable about idols singing rock. As expected, in a recent interview with Newsen, Kim Jaejoong confessed, “I can’t help thinking about the public gaze.”
Kim Jaejoong said, “Therefore, I didn’t try to transform rock into something to fit myself. That’s also the reason why, rather than self-composed songs, I asked songs from Kim Bada sunbaenim of Sinawi and chose it as title track. Not only the songs, but the instrument playing and the vocal style were not of my existing style either. I tried to get rid of [old] habits. As I learned a new thing, it was a challenge itself.”
He expressed his desire, “I had to overcome that burden. With the help of really great musicians, the music of this album came out so wonderfully. The problem is whether I did digest rock music well. I hope that other people will also take it favorably.”
Kim Jaejoong added, “I think now people aren’t hostile toward idols doing rock like before. Rock and hip hop, rock and pop, isn’t what they want the popularization of rock music?”
Kim Jaejoong expressed his contentment on this challenge, “I think no one can dare to talk less of anyone who’s trying the rock genre, unless that person seriously ruins the genre. I didn’t think that I would get to work with such great seniors and received songs from them. I’m happy that, it’s just simply my favorite genre, but I received great support and was able to learn a lot.”

Lask week, Jaejoong‘s mini album ‘I‘ had ranked #1 in Taiwan and Japan, in addition to taking the top ranking on the Korean Vchart for China’s biggest music video site, Yinyuetai.

This week, he managed to rank #1 again on Yinyuetai for the 2nd week in a row. As further proof of Jaejoong’s popularity on the site, his music video on Yinyuetai has accumulated more that 10.1 million views, while the same music video on YouTube has garnered nearly 1.8 million views. Additionally, he was also ranked #2 on Billboard‘s World Album Chart.

His first solo album has been seeing a tremendous amount of popularity, and his solo concert is also receiving an incredible amount of interest.

To meet his fans across Asia, Jaejoong will be embarking on an Asia tour, starting with Thailand on February 17th.

Kim JaeJoong sees good results in China and the USA




The music video of ‘Mine’, the title track of Kim Jaejoong’s first solo mini album ‘I’, has topped the Korean video category of Yinyuetai’s V Charts, China’s biggest music video site, for the second consecutive week. ‘I’ also ranked second on the US Billboard World Album charts.
C-JeS Entertainment, the agency of JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong, stated that this proves that Kim Jaejoong’s popularity has spread from Asia to other continents such as North America.
Recently, Kim Jaejoong’s ‘One Kiss’ topped the iTunes rock charts in nine countries including Singapore and Indonesia. Though ‘I’ is a mini album, it topped the weekly, daily, and real-time Hanteo Charts. It also topped album sales charts in Taiwan and Japan, proving that Kim Jaejoong is extremely popular both domestically and overseas.
Kim Jaejoong wrapped up his ‘Your, My and Mine’ concert in success with 16,000 fans at the Ilsan KINTEX on the 26th and 27th and will be holding a concert in Thailand on the 17th of February.

“Only Love” was written by Jaejoong himself. It is a dubstep trendy dance song. Jaejoong showed this at his Ilsan concert “Your, My and Mine.”

The pre-orders for the repackage album “Y” will begin online and offline starting from February 13. When the repackage album is released, Jaejoong will also start his Asia tour.

Kim Jae-joong’s repackaged album to hit stores

Kim Jae-joong will release a repackaged album titled “Y” on Feb.26.
CJeS Entertainment announced that the new release will contain all five songs contained on his first solo album “I” released last month.

“In addition there will be two additional songs which he sang at his concert last month,” said the agency, mentioning that the dance song “Only Love” would be one of the two.
The song was written by Kim himself and features elements of dubstep, an electronic/dance genre originally from the U.K. which rose to prominence in the mid-2000s.

Currently Kim is making waves with his rock album, which presented the idol singer in a new light.
“More than 120,000 copies of Kim’s debut album were pre-ordered and were sold-out upon release,” said a CJeS representative.
According to domestic sales reports he was atop both the daily and weekly music charts, second on Billboard’s World Albums Chart and No.1 in Taiwan too.

After the successful release of his first solo album, ‘I‘, Jaejoong will be revealing ‘Y‘, the repackaged version of the album!

The repack is scheduled to hit shelves on the 26th, and will include a previously unreleased song, “Only Love“, as well as one more song.

As mentioned previously, the singer sold out all 120,000 copies of his first batch, and requests for a second batch had to be put in with the success of ‘I’, that topped Hanteo as well as overseas charts.

C-JeS commented, “The repackaged album will contain two more songs in addition to the 5 original tracks, including the previously unreleased dance track ‘Only Love’, and a limited edition photo will also be included.”

“Only Love” is Jaejoong’s self-composed song of the dance genre, and was first performed at his recent ‘Your, My and Mine‘ concert.

‘Y’ will be released on February 26th, and will go on pre-sale starting on the 13th. The singer will be embarking on an Asia tour along with the release of the repackaged album as well, so it seems fans have a lot to look forward to from the singer!

@willenette and @vzmeiin...that's JJs adopted father...JJ looks a lot like his bio mom but kinda funny that JJ has some similarities to adopted dad. There are recent pictures of JJ with adopted parents and sisters.

He is the youngest in his adopted family with 8 older sisters. He is in contact with bio mom (think he has bio half sister and brother thru bio mom as well...don't know much about his bio dad except when JJs adoption history became public late 2006)...

I have been checking all threads involving JYJ peroiodically. But don't know how to post pictures yet (creamie instructed me but havent tried)...I can post videos now though

So let's keep all threads regarding JYJ, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu going! ><
