JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong’s mother, Oh Seo Jin, recently made a guest appearance on TV Chosun’s “Daechan Life,” where she shared her story and clarified rumors surrounding herself and her son. 

According to Oh Seo Jin, she went through a bad divorce at a young age, and because of economic hardship, she had no choice but to send her son off to another family. While she did not think of it as adoption at the time, it took her twenty-some years to find her son, who later became a huge hallyu star.

However, happiness after being reunited with her son was short lived, as many netizens dubbed her as “Kim Jae Joong’s biological mother who exploits her famous son.” During the recording, Oh Seo Jin revealed, “I was shocked. I even attempted suicide.”

Oh Seo Jin also shared that she learned from her past hardships. Now she’s lives a new life and works as the director of Republic of Korea’s Protect the Familyh organization.

Kim Jae-joong’s First Solo Album Tops iTunes Charts in Five Nations

Singer Kim Jae-joong’s “One Kiss” from his first solo album topped the iTunes charts in five nations.

A representative of CJ Entertainment, Kim's agency, said on Jan. 9, “One Kiss topped the iTunes single charts in five nations including Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam one day after its release.” The official added that the song also topped the iTunes rock charts in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia.
 

“One Kiss”, which was released online prior to the album, which is slated for Jan. 17, topped the real-time charts on local music sites including Bugs and Cyworld. The official said, “The song is receiving hot response as it reflects fans' inclination for albums based on the rock genre.”

He continued, “The album has now topped the reservation sales charts in Japanese album sales chains including Tower Records and HMV. It is also expected to sweep the music charts in North and South America and Europe.”

Kim Jae-joong will perform in a solo concert titled “Your, My and Mine” in Kintex, Ilsan, northwest of Seoul, on Jan. 26 and Jan 27. Tickets for 16,000 seat concert sold out the instant sales began. [Yonhap]

North Korea’s top striker Jung Tae Se (29), who has now donned the Suwon Bluewings uniform, attended a press conference on the 10th to commemorate his new team membership and when asked what he would like to do in Korea other than play soccer, he replied that he wanted to attend ‘Hallyu Star’ Kim Jaejoong’s concert.

After the match was over, Kim Jaejoong posted a photo of himself with Jung Tae Se with the caption, “Tae Se, I hope to see you again soon.” As Jung Tae Se will now be living in Korea, he expressed his wish to attend his friend’s concert and see him again.

However, it doesn’t seem as though Jung Tae Se’s wishes will come true. The Suwon team won’t be returning to Korea till the 28th after they go through their first round of training in Guam, but Kim Jaejoong’s concert will be held right before their return on the 26th and 27th.

***I didn't even know this story until I read this. But, I knew that Jaejoong was adopted. I’ve been aware of this, & I knew Jaejoong had a birth mother and had to give him up because she couldn't afford to raise him. And his half sister is really pretty too. And I hope this appearance on TV must be approved or communicated at least to JaeJoong. Because celebrities tend to keep their family out of the media so doing this and uncovering hurtful past is not right. I don't think this should be discussed on a TV show. Or maybe Jaejoong was asked before his mom went on the show, if they could talk about this, but then again, we don't know anything. I’m here always to support him. In the end, she is still his real mom.

Oh Seo Jin, the birth mother of JYJ‘s Jaejoong revealed the story behind her having to be separated from her son.

She was a guest on the January 11th episode of the new TV Chosun program ‘Persevering Life‘ and on the program she said, “I met with Jaejoong after he debuted. He knew that he had a birth mother. When I called him on the phone before we met, he said, ‘Let’s not cry when we meet’, and it was really like that. He didn’t hate me, but he heard what I had to say and understood the situation I was under.”

She also had problems while she was trying to prove their relationship. She said, “One day, I got an accusation from the Military Manpower Association. Apparently my son broke an enlistment law. Jaejoong’s real name was Han Jae Joon, and I was asked if I was Han Jae Joon’s mother. I told them that he was in Japan because it was when Jaejoong was active as a member of TVXQ in Japan, and they asked me how he could go to Japan when he was a wanted man. The mix-up apparently happened because Jaejoong had two family registrations, one from his birth parents and one from his adoptive parents.”

Afterwards, she filed to confirm her relationship with Jaejoong for a period of 2 years. She said, “It was eventually confirmed that he was my birth son, but the parents that raised him probably felt saddened. Also, articles came up saying that Jaejoong’s birth mother came out only to request money. Jaejoong fans would tell me to die and that I was not a person. JYJ's Kim JaeJoong is still "Hero Jaejoong" in his fans' hearts

There are still many fans who remember JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong as TVXQ’s Hero Jaejoong.

Ahead of his solo concert, Kim Jaejoong received suggestions from fans for songs he should sing during his concert, and a flood of request came in for him to perform songs by ‘TVXQ’.

On the 12th, Kim Jaejoong held an event that took suggestions for songs he should perform at his ‘You, My and Mine’ concert on the 26th and 27th of January through comments that were posted on his official Facebook page.

The event took place for two hours and collected around 8,800 comments and 7,500 ‘likes’. Kim Jaejoong’s popularity was proven when comments were left by fans from Korea, other Asian countries such as Japan and China, as well as overseas fans who spoke English and Spanish.

However, the suggestions showed that the fans ‘want to see Hero Jaejoong again’.

Most of the fans’ suggestions were TVXQ songs such as ‘HUG’ and ‘honey funny bunny’. There were fans who requested songs by other singers such as ‘Lovers’ by Lee Seon Hee, but most of the requests were TVXQ songs.

Hero Jaejoong, Kim Jaejoong’s stage name during his time as a member of TVXQ, ranked high on the most searched rankings of various portal sites after the event began, mirroring the wishes of the fans.

Meanwhile, former TVXQ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu (JYJ) filed an injunction against their former agency SM Entertainment on July 31st, 2009 for an unlawful exclusive contract. They have been participating in activities independent from SM ever since the Courts accepted their injunction.

The legal battle ensued between the two sides with SM Entertainment filing an exclusive contract validity confirmation and compensation for damages lawsuit in April, 2010, which was counteracted by JYJ’s exclusive contract invalidity confirmation lawsuit. The lawsuit came to an end on the 28th of November last year through voluntary arbitration.

The Music Video of Kim Jaejoong's Solo Album is Unveiled

At last, fans got to check out the music video of Kim Jaejoong's solo mini album's title track "MINE."
 
The music video premiered through JYJ's official YouTube channel at midnight, January 16th.
 
According to Kim's agency, the music video is sure to be the most sensational video for 2013.
The best in the business got together to ensure fans will experience everything the new song has to offer.
Kim Jaejoong received a standing ovation from the music video crew for pushing himself to deliver what is expected of him and more.
The filming went on for 60 hours straight, and Jaejoong worked non-stop, despite sustaining injuries during filming.
 

Lee Sang-gyu, the director of the music video said that he felt the pain, loneliness and artistic anguish of Jaejoong through the lyrics of the song "MINE."
And he tried to express such complex emotions using various images including surreal ones where good and evil coexist.
His goal was to portray the artist's thirst to reach new heights.

State of the art equipment and top notch computer graphics were implemented to create this music video.
To tell the story using strong visuals, animals like snakes, crows and owls were used.
A special 5300 frames per second camera was used to capture the emotions portrayed by Kim Jaejoong and a powerful scene where animals and chains turn to dust.
 
This is arguably the biggest music video in Korean music history, in which 7 custom-made sets measuring 25 by 10 meters were used.
 
This mini album is Kim Jaejoong's first solo venture.
Jaejoong was involved in the writing and composing of every song featured in it, and they all tell stories of his life.
"One Kiss" was released on January 8th.
Thanks to Kim Jaejoong's powerful vocal talent and amazing voice, it received rave reviews and made it to various international music charts.
 
"MINE" the first solo mini album by Kim Jaejoong is available in stores on January 17th.
