Film Jackal is Coming, starring JYJs Jae Joong, is sold to six countries

Film Jackal is Coming has recently been sold to six countries, including Japan and Thailand.

On November 8, Lotte Entertainment reported that film Jackal is Coming has been sold to Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei before its release in Korea.

The biggest reason for the overseas sales of the film is that it stars JYJ’s Jae Joong, who is popular in Asia, South America, and Europe, and Song Ji Hyo, who is popular for her regular appearance on SBS TV’s Running Man.

The Japanese distribution company of the film says, “Jae Joong is one of the most popular Korean singers in Japan. We’re expecting that the film will become a box office hit because he’s a good actor and he appears as a top celebrity in the film.”

Jackal is Coming is a film about things happening after legendary killer Bong Min Jung (played by Song Ji Hyo) receives a request to kill top celebrity Choi Hyun (played by Jae Joong). It will be released on November 15.

New R&B artist Baek Seung Heon recently made his debut on November 4 on SBS Inkigayo with his debut track “Til The Sun Rises.” It has a medium temp, drum beat, R&B sound to it with romantic lyrics penned to its rather sweet melody. The charismatic 21-year-old vocalist not only shows off his impressive range but rapping skills. The lyrics express a man’s budding feelings for a woman, and that if she told him she would choose to stay by his side before the the sun rises, he would cherish her forever. 

It is reported that JYJ Jaejoong held a significant role in Baek Seung Hoon’s debut, from penning the lyrics to giving input on the production of the music video for “Til The Sun Rises.” 

He even sent an encouraging text message to the new artist that said, “When you’re standing on stage, believe that you are the best. Show them everything you have prepared up until this very moment. When I arrive back to Korea, let’s catch up.”

Baek Seung Hoon had this to say about Jaejoong’s support, “I heard Jaejoong has been suffering a cold lately, but to receive such a thoughtful text from him even when he’s incredibly busy is very touching. I sent him a text back asking him to take care of his health and get better soon! When I received that text, I felt so supported and was driven to work harder than ever.”

Interview with Kim JaeJoong in Jakarta, Indonesia



Q : How do you feel when you came to Indonesia for the first time ? Kim Jaejoong : A member of JYJ some time ago had a concert and meeting, I heard that Indonesia was very good so i also wanted to came here. Jakarta is a great city. The atmosphere really similar with Seoul so i felt familiar.  This is my first time for visit Indonesia, but thank you for accepting me very well. Although yesterday many of fans who came to greet me in Airport but because of a security reason, i can’t greet them (the fans). I want to gift a happy time at a fanmeeting !.
Q : What exactly are you doing in Hongkong last week ? we heard about the making of the MV, is that true ? Kim Jaejoong : Yes, it became my junior first debut who really talented, Baek Seung Hun. In the title song “Until the Sun Rises” i wrote the lyrics and starred the music video in Hongkong. In order to Seung hun to achieve his dream, i wanted to help him as much as i can. 
Q : What is your best moment in 2012 ? Kim Jaejoong : Every day in 2012 is a valuable day. when i do the press interview at this time, when i was on a plane to Jakarta, as while as where i’ll do a fan meeting tomorrow, will be a something that will never be forgotten. as a singer i am already ever done a tour to South America, as an actor i have been acting in a colossal drama and movie for the first time. Whether it’s while doing a tour, a drama and a movie, because i did it together with the fans, (it) feels became a more valuable memories !
Q : Now you are already became a singer which is very famous, if you can turn back the time, you want to be ? Do you still want to be a singer or maybe just an actor ? Kim Jaejoong : Since childhood, my dream is to become a singer. But at that moment, that dream is only a wishful thinking. Even though i continued to sing, but the target to be a singer really doesn’t exist. As times goes by i am just want to walking more higher again. The dream that i had from childhood was to be a singer, and an actor is a dream that greater today. The question to choosing between being a singer or an actor is the most difficult question, if (i) born again will i still like now, became a singer first and not an act ?^^.
Q : Jaejoong now has steeped in the world of acting and has became a successful actor. Are you going continue to act and what (the thing) that we can roughly expect/ see in the future ?  Kim Jaejoong : In Korea, I already played in two dramas and one movie. Today (the thing) that i feel important is to multiply the experience and trying a different characters. I want to be an actor who can show a variety of appearances. Like in Dr Jin, my role is as a strong police officer while in the movie, ‘Jackal is Coming’ my role is comical and clumsy.  Every entrusted to hold the different characters i think (it’s) just like wearing different clothes. Let we work hard to be an actor who can show a variety of appearances!.
Q : Some time ago you accepted a role in ‘Jackal is Coming’ . Can you explain more about the role that you play ? Kim Jaejoong : In the movie ‘Jackal is Coming’, top star ‘Choi Hyun’ experiencing an abduction by an assassin who later experienced a lot of events and displayed comically. Although i am a little embarrassed to say it but the role that entrusted to me is the role of a top star ‘Choi Hyun’.^^
Q : In ‘Jackal is Coming’, why you are accept the role ? Kim Jaejoong : In ‘Jackal is Coming’, the role of ‘Choi Hyun’ as a top star who is recognized as the most fabulous Hallyu star surely look perfect from the outside. But actually (his) character is very ordinary, i feel the human nature that is in the character is interesting.
Q : Is JYJ planning to release the album in Korea this year ? Kim Jaejoong : I can’t say (it) for sure but it looks like there are gonna be something new around next year. 
Q : You are so busy with a fan meeting, Junsu with his solo concert, and Yoochun with his drama. When was the last time the three of you get together ?  Kim Jaejoong : Because the three of us busy, therefore, a lot of time that where we can’t meet each other. However, we met on the set of an ads or on the sideline of the schedule!. Just the day before yesterday we met in an ad campaign two days ago !. If the three of us meet, it feels always fun. Really like a siblings.
Q : You have a lot of fans from around the world, is there anything that you want to say to them ? Kim Jaejoong : In 2011-2012 ago, it feels that the ‘world tour’ is getting bigger. Asia, North America, South America, until Europe to meet directly with the fans from a variety places around the world is very delightful. And i always grateful to you! 
Q : How do you feel able to greet the fans in Indonesia through this fan meeting ? what the meaning of ‘fans’ for you ? Kim Jaejoong : A while ago i am also ever said this in fan meeting. ’ the fans are my sources of happiness’ what i said is true. Everything that is in my memory, was conducted together with the fans. When happy and sad ^^. This is my first visit to Indonesia, thank you for welcoming me warmly! I hope on the fan meeting tomorrow, everyone can spending a fun time with me! ^^.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong shared a kiss with actress Kim Sung Ryeong in his first movie appearance.

On November 8, a press preview for the movie Jackal Is Coming was held and a scene, in which Kim shared a kiss with the actress, drew a lot of attention.

Kim appeared on the movie with Song Ji Hyo, who is five years older than him, and Kim Sung Ryeong, who is nineteen years older than him.

Kim talked about the kissing scene, “We tried many times for the scene. I was very tired that day because I couldn’t sleep enough before the shooting.”

He added, “When we finished shooting the kissing scene, I jokingly told her that she stole my energy and she said thank you for it. It was fun and she helped me a lot.”

The movie is a romantic comedy about a top star and a beautiful killer, who tries to kill the star. It will be released on November 15.

November Movie Screens Will Be Star-Studded

November movie screens can be explained as the season for the pretty actors, hallyu stars and idol actors.

Beginning with “Werewolf Boy” which opened on October 31st and its star Song Joong Gi, the season will continue with Park Si Hoo and “I Am the Murderer,” Kim Jae Joong on November 15th and many other handsome actors. 

Song Joong Gi is currently the “it” man, with his KBS drama “The Innocent Man” playing at the same time as his movie “Werewolf Boy” and in both projects, he is portraying a more masculine and brash male character, very different from the soft-spoken and “nice guy” image he has made previously.

Kim Jae Joong will star in “Jackal is Coming,” which is about a professional killer played by Song Ji Hyo and a pretty top star played by Kim Jae Joong but it is a comedy movie. Song Ji Hyo will be a professional yet clumsy killer, whereas Kim Jae Joong will play a character who will do anything to keep his life.

U-KISS’s Dongho will transform into a rapist in the upcoming movie “Don’t Cry Mommy,” which premieres on the 22nd. The movie is about a high school girl played by Nam Bo Ra, who is raped and afterwards kills herself, and her mother who exacts revenge. Though it must have been hard for him to decide to play a rapist as an idol star, he seems to be making a bold move with this new transition.

2AM’s Im Seul Ong will debut in “26 Years,” based on a comic by Kangfull. It’s about the people who were involved with the catastrophe and massacre in Gwangju in 1980. 

Park Si Hoo, known for his charming good looks, will become a serial killer in his first movie “I Am the Murderer,” which opened on Thursday. He will be put up against a detective, played by Jung Jae Young. Park Si Hoo is expected to steal the attention of viewers with his cold and calculating performance of the meticulous serial killer. 

Yoon Sang Hyun, who is gaining popularity in Japan, is set to make his movie debut with “Tone Deaf Clinic” to open on November 29th. It’s about a star teacher played by Yoon Sang Hyun, who works to fix those who are tone deaf or without rhythm.

JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong recently attended the movie premiere of “The Jackal is Coming“, which is a story about a legendary killer named Bong Min Jung (played by Song Ji Ho) who kidnaps celebrity Choi Hyun (played by Kim Jaejoong himself) and the comical events that happen to them. 

This was a special moment for JYJ’s Jaejoong who was anticipating his debut on the big screen. Interestingly enough, Jaejoong played a character that was closely based on his own life: a “flower boy” celebrity named Choi Hyun who encounters a Sasaeng fan (a rather extreme fan who pushes boundaries to get close to the stars they adore). 

In fact, his character Choi Hyun faces life-threatening situations with Sasaeng fans, as well as an invasion of privacy- even in the very place he lies his head to go to sleep. 

When asked if Jaejoong himself could related to Choi Hyun’s situation, he responded with, “There are fans who are extreme as that. I am sure that every celebrity has encountered Sasaeng fans just as we did.” He offered no elaboration, seeing as how they were many sensitive Sasaeng fan issues that came to light in the public this past year.

The 4-dimensional side of him was ever so evident when he replied that it would have to depend on the type of girl he was dating when questioned if he would sacrifice for his love as in his drama, Dr. Jin.

When asked if there was a kiss scene in ‘Jackal is Coming’, JaeJoong’s smile could not be hidden as he nodded his head, causing the crowd to go wild. After much probing on how the kiss scene went, a small chuckle left the

JYJ‘s Kim Jae Joong finished up his grand “2012 Asia Fan Meeting Tour” in Vietnam on November 10. He first started “2012 Asia Fan Meeting Tour” on October 20 in Nanjing, China and continued his fan meetings in Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Throughout the tour, he entertained approximately 17,500 fans in person.

When he got to Vietnam for the grand finale of the fan meeting tour on November 9, there were about 1,000 fans waiting to greet him at the airport. Fans and reporters gathered at the airport and press conference to see Kim Jae Joong. A local representative of the event explained, “The entire Vietnam is turned upside down. Literally, everyone in Ho Chi Minh City knows where Kim Jae Joong is because of a big crowd that’s moving with him.”

Kim Jae Joong hosted a fan meeting for 3,500 fans in Saigong Exhibition & Convention Center on November 10. When he appeared on stage singing “I Will Protect You” from “Protect the Boss,” fans couldn’t contain their excitement. They greeted the singer with loud cheers. Kim Jae Joong thanked his fans, “I’ve had so much fun and enjoyed every bit of each and every place I’ve visited as a part of this fan meeting tour. Code name : Jackal movie "extraordinary" mask sneak preview event



The movie, Codename: Jackal, had launched an extraordinary sneak preview session.
On 12 Nov 2012, there were 100s of Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jae Joong present. Actually, it is planned by one of the Jae Joong’s fanclub, Prickly noonas of heroses, to make the sneak preview special. This had caught the attention of many people.
Many fans, ranging from students to pregnant women, to men above 30 were present at the sneak preview. The theatre was full house.
Before the movie commence, all the fans wore the mask and took a group photo. They are planning to upload it on Codename:Jackal promotional website to support the movie.
Codename: Jackal is a movie about how a legendary killer (Song Ji Hyo) has kidnapped the lady killer Hallyu Star (Kim Jae Joong). The official release date is 15 Nov 2012.

Kim Jae Joong’s track, Stay is a ballad, with the lyrics written by Kim Jae Joong himself.

Kim JaeJoong talks about "fake Kim JaeJoong"



JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong recently greeted viewers with his first film starring role in ‘Jackal is Coming’. In an interview conducted on November 13th, Kim Jaejoong expressed his helplessness regarding ‘fake Kim Jaejoong’.
In ‘Jackal is Coming’, Kim Jaejoong stars as a top star called Choi Hyun who has to escape being killed by vicious assassin Bong Min Jung (Song Ji Hyo). Kim Jaejoong said, “Just like how Choi Hyun has to act as the fake Choi Hyun, there’s actually a fake Jaejoong in real life. Although I am at home, there would someone who claims that Jaejoong is here or Jaejoong is at a nightclub. It’s like someone is using my name or I often hear that there is someone who looks exactly like me.”
Kim Jaejoong also revealed that even his good friends have a hard time differentiating between the fake Jaejoong from him. He said, “There was once when I was at home, and my friend texted me saying why did I pretend to not know him. It was only later then I realized that my friend had saw the fake Jaejoong, thinking that it was me. After verification, my friend confirmed that the fake Jaejoong really looked like me.” After relating the story, Jaejoong said helplessly, “I suppose that there is really someone who looks exactly like me.”
Meanwhile, the film ‘Jackal is Coming’ starring Kim Jaejoong and Song Ji Hyo will air in cinemas from November 15th onwards and is rated suitable for viewers aged 15 and above.

It wasn’t JYJ Kim Jaejoong or the top star Choi Hyun. There was only the actor Kim Jaejoong who is bright-eyed with expectations of soon having the public release of ‘Code Name: Jackal’ (Director: Bae Hyeong-Jun) the first movie he is starring in.
Kim Jaejoong who diligently acts as Hallyu star Choi Hyun in ‘Code Name: Jackal’ ruined himself literally. Kim Jaejoong here is completely different from the nice man in his previous pieces ‘Protect The Boss’ and ‘Dr. Jin’. While trying to survive, he looks pitiful, behaves in a servile and unmanly manner, though with a handsome face.
His efforts remain evident and untouched in the movie. It doesn’t need point by point explanations how he endeavored for his big-screen debut.
“It was a fresh shock. Because I saw my face in the big screen. Just as seeing myself in the television for the first time was amazing, movie was also the same. ‘Ah, it feels like this.’”
The top star Choi Hyun being kidnapped by the Killer Bong Min-Jung in a motel room is in danger of being murdered. To survive, Choi Hyun claims he is ‘fake Choi Hyun’ and ruins himself as best he can.
Kim Jaejoong who is a Hallyu star in real life and is a member of JYJ neatly managed to act being ruined. It might seem everyone would have dissuaded him or there would have been great pressure but he said with the firm attitude of an actor “I wanted to ruin myself more.”
“Of course my fans know a lot about me, but the public may know my image only as ‘Enigmatic YeongWoongJaejoong’. ‘That dude’s concept is enigmatic.’ I wanted to change this part. I wanted to show that Kim Jaejoong has other images.”
Kim Jaejoong had to shoot the film mostly being tied up with a rope. The locations were various; chair, bed, and etc. The fact that he couldn’t move plus the pressure of his first big-screen debut, gave him a hard time. Because he had to act using only facial expressions.
“It was tough. Because the location didn’t change, I didn’t move. Usually during travel time, actors have a rest, but I couldn’t do so because I didn’t have such time. Especially because I was tied up, I felt stifled that I couldn’t move. Eating meals, going to toilet, and sleeping while being tied up. I wanted to get out of it. Haha.”

As it is a comedy movie, Kim Jaejoong couldn’t help laughing throughout filming and confessed “I made too many NGs”.
“While pretending to be the fake Choi Hyun and singing a song, I put my real-self down. I abandoned everything. ‘Yes, I am now filming Jackal Is Coming’. The director told me ‘Do everything with every voice you can produce. I went out of my mind. Actually, there weren’t much details in the script. The scenes where I just tried received OK sign.”
Here, Kim Jaejoong’s having a trivial self-praise time aroused astonishment.
“The scene where Bong Min-Jung compares between the picture of Choi Hyun’s abs and the actuality was also the same [as the scenes where I just tried and received OK sign]. Protruding my tummy is my special ability. My waist is actually 27.5 inches but I can inflate it to 35 inches.”
In the movie, Choi Hyun is terribly stalked by a Saseng fan. The scene feels like the real Kim Jaejoong is being stalked by the Saseng fan. I wondered whether this scene was created for Kim Jaejoong or it was originally in the synopsis.
“It was originally in the synopsis when I first received it. Even though it is a very hilarious scene, people around me could not laugh because it seems related to me. I hope everyone can just enjoy and laugh at the scene.”
Kim Jaejoong attracted the attention of the public through a kiss scene with the 19 year older senior actor Kim Sung Ryung. He made a quip at the press conference “Though my spirit/energy was sucked, I learned a lot.” Also, Kim Jaejoong had a kiss scene with actor Kim JeeWon in a music video. What is his impression of having a series of kiss scenes that others can’t even have once a year?
“Such abundant kiss scenes. I did it by each age group. Kim JeeWon in 20s, Song JiHyo in 30s, and Kim Sung Ryung is 40s. I got a stroke of luck. Haha. Everyone envied me.”
Kim Jaejoong who is mesmerized by the charm of movies called himself ‘a lucky person’. I suggested a self-promotion for ‘Code Name: Jackal’ to Kim Jaejoong who says that he wants to decide on the next piece and show a new look to fans as soon as possible.

The tension of World Star Kim JaeJoong of Code Name : Jackal"


World star Kim Jaejoong was very nervous.
To everyone, the word ‘first’ has a very deep meaning. If the singer has the first record, the actor has the first movie/drama. To Kim Jaejoong who has already positioned himself firmly as the best Hallyu star of South Korea, the movie ‘Code name: Jackal’ is his first screen debut. His heart palpitated with worries.
Kim Jaejoong showed a quite stiff look at the interview with Newsen in a café at Seoul Samcheong-dong on Nov 12.  It was his first interview as a rookie movie actor. Kim Jaejoong was very humble and answered honestly the questions.
Actually, even the reaction of ‘surprise/unexpectedness’ was also due to the tacit prejudice against him. Instead of topics that can become eye-catching gossips such as his private life, [JYJ] members, dating or love, I was more curious about the acting of ‘actor Kim Jaejoong’ (T/N: the reporter used연기학 to refer acting as a major of study). I was amazed by his cleverness and adroitness which I couldn’t catch for a brief moment at first.
“I think you will be trembling whatever kind of “first” experience it is. Also, because I don’t have experience, the movie world somehow seems harsher.” Kim Jaejoong carefully opened his heart, “I am having that feeling again. I hope that everyone would enjoy it. This is my first big screen appearance. It was really burdensome.”
In this movie, Kim Jaejoong plays Choi Hyun, an arrogant top star. Apart from the entire story and directing, it’s indeed surprising to watch the character Choi Hyun brought to life by Kim Jaejoong. Of course, his acting skill was already verified through dramas ‘Protect the Boss’ and ‘Dr. Jin’. However, movie is obviously different from drama. This man who will take over the big screen, there is nothing that he can’t do.
“I have watched the movie twice. The first time I was absent-minded. The second time finally the whole drama came into my eyes. More than anything else, the characters are so funny. Although it’s the movie I chose, I was actually worried a lot about how I would portray Choi Hyun who is also a singer just like me. I was also curious about my acting. (Laughs) I wonder whether it would be fine if I followed the screenplay.”
As time passed, many things were filmed but he also suffered because of that. He must not lose the string of emotion and had to show the aesthetic aspect of the ‘messing up’ which is not really easy to act out. Since he has perfectly digested it (t/n: portrayed the character), isn’t the only fear the praises that will pour down?
“Oh, it still leaves much to be desired. I think the first time is the hardest time. Should I do that gently?  Should I give much power on my shoulders? Because I must show some desperate actions in order to survive after being kidnapped, it was probably a distinction. It might be confusing but I did my best. I did try very hard. Really! Haha”

In order to live, he will tell the killer played by Song Ji Hyo that he's not the real star and will show off incredible amounts of slapstick comedy for an idol star. He will try to make himself look fatter and style his hair in the strangest ways in order to make her and the viewer's laugh.

Choi Siwon is going much the same route. He plays a complete moron of a star in SBS' Mon/Tues drama "The King of Dramas."

His first appearance was impressive from the start. He's loved by the public for his amazing good looks and his dramatic eyes but in real life, he's all about the money and completely self-absorbed. He is addicted to video games and in truth he's much more human than people thought.

Choi Siwon has previously been in more serious dramas so people are really enjoying this new transformation and is getting positive reviews from the public.

Kim Jaejoong of JYJ stars as a top actor “Choi Hyun” in the newly released film “The Jackal Is Coming.” The new movie is about a notorious serial killer who kidnaps a popular celebrity. The movie is directed by Bae Hyung Joon (“Too Beautiful to Lie” and “Boys Don’t Cry”) and stars Kim Jaejoong and Song Ji Hyo.

Kim Jaejoong found that he could relate to his character’s circumstances and personality, especially in lieu of recent events. His acting is in sync with the relatable character who deals with crazy stalkers, a careless manager, and an illicit relationship with the wife of a CEO.

The singer met up for the interview with Joy News after the premier of his movie. Although he looks like he could be cold and blunt, he was quite friendly and had an affectionate personality. He spoke easily and honestly about his expectations of what’s to come and he could not hide his excitement in his expressions and posture.

At the press conference for the movie premiere he looked more nervous than anyone would expect a top idol star would be. Instead of acting like the veteran of the spot light that he is, he appeared more like a rookie actor at his very first press conference.

“I have been through many press conferences. I wasn’t shaking because of the press conference. I was shaking because the movie had finally premiered. As I watched the movie I became more and more nervous, so at the end of it I was shaking a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous.”

When asked if it was embarrassing to see his face so large on the screen he answered, “I’m embarrassed wherever I see my face so it was even more so seeing it on the big screen.”

“I’m 50/50 on how I feel when people say I look unique. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t like it. Even though I don’t always hear ‘you are really handsome’, I think my face is unique and has personality. The uniqueness has its advantages and disadvantages. People who don’t like others who stick out don’t like me, but people who view it favorably like me. However, I think positively about my face. It’s also interesting to me that I have female fans because of how I look.”

Kim Jaejoong had received numerous offers to be in other movie project but he had waited for the right role to come. The offers that he received before were mostly melodramas. He was attracted to this project because the movie was not too heavy and relied on the strength of the male character as a comedy.

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t burdened. However, if the movie had been serious and heavy, I would have been even more burdened. Since ‘Jackal’ is an easy to watch comedy, I was more comfortable with having my face on the movie poster.”

When he first read the script, Jaejoong was astounded. “After I read the script I asked the screen writer, ‘Did you perhaps write this for me?’. He said he didn’t but that’s how similar the script was to my life. I was able to empathize with the character since I’ve been in the entertainment industry. You can just view the movie as a slightly exaggerated portrayal of celebrity life.”

Kim Jaejoong is the type who would rather work tirelessly than take a rest. On what his plans were for after the movie he said, “In the future I want to challenge myself with a cool action film or a high school movie like ‘A Wolf’s Temptation’.”

But before then, what sort of hopes does he have for the people who will watch his film? “I want audiences to think ‘Oh, so Kim Jaejoong has these kind of colorful charms’ when they watch the movie.”

Kim Jae-joong’s fans seriously happy

Kim Jae-joong’s comic acting in his movie debut is drawing a positive reaction from fans, according to media reports yesterday.

“Code Name: Jackal,” which was released Thursday, features the singer as a fictional idol star, Choi Hyun, who is abducted by assassin Bong Min-jung, played by Song Ji-hyo.

In a desperate effort to get her to release him, the pretty-face singer tries to please her with self-deprecating acts, such as slapstick comedy and comical singing.

“Is that really Kim Jae-joong? I didn’t know he had such a comical side in him,” said an audience on a Web site forum. Another said he looked so different from “Dr. Jin,” a just-finished MBC drama. “I was concerned that his good looks may be a hindrance to comedy, but he did it terrifically,” said another fan of the K-pop star.

Kim, 26, a pillar of the three-member boy group JYJ, made a debut as an actor with the 2011 SBS drama, “Protect The Boss,” through which he received the New Star award during the SBS Drama Awards.
