55 million in one day! It's the biggest opening EVER, beating out Revenge of the Sith, X3, and Spiderman 2! That's no surprise. Even though I ended up not liking the movie, I knew it was going to be a huge success regardless. I'm happy for them but I really really really hope POTC 3 will be a lot better than Dead Man's Chest. ::crosses fingers::

i luved the movie! i just saw it yesterday and it was sooo funni. i was snickering the whole entire time. the storyline wasn't that great, but i really enjoyed it. and barbosa...didn't he die in the first movie? i guess they'll explain it in the next movie. gosh, why is everyone doing trilogies these days?

Yesterday, I watch it and the line was pretty long. o_o Well, I thought the movie was "ok". & the Jack Sparrow scenes was always entertaining. Yeah, cliffhanger at the end of the movie .., but I think Jack is still alive. & Will and Jack have a strange friendship. o_O

I watched the movie today!! It was pretty awesome, didn't really like the story much, but I guess it's enjoyable, but the effects and everything was excellent. I have a questions though I thought Captain Barbossa died... in POTC1, wasn't he shot by JackSparrow??

to answer your question: i'm assuming you didn't see the sneak preview after pirates of the caribbean1? there's a little preview where back in the cave.. barbossa is dead.. but the monkey takes one of the aztec coin from the chest which is why the monkey can't die when he gets shot. which is why barbossa is alive because the monkey took the coin out of the chest. get it?

So since not all the coins are in the chest Barbossa is still alive? Then technically wouldn't all the other pirates aboard the ship still be alive?

I agree! It was good, but not great. It seemed to be a mockery of the first movie almost. Like too many jokes...and there was no climax really. Just a lot of talking and then a lot of fighting. Kind of stupid. I LOVED Johnny Depp though. He's still got that Captain Jack Sparrow thing down to a T!!! And is it me or was Orlando Bloom just.....WOW in it? I think his acting from the first movie became loads better. And there's just this....light in him that I just LLLUUURRRVVED to death. But that last bit, I was so "aedmaoidjLAKdflkej" that it made me want to watch the third one, so I hope that the third one will be MUCH better than this one.

This is my theory about the last part...

Barbossa was brought back with the help of Jack the monkey because it is immortal, but since the voodoo lady had him, and she probably knew that Jack was going to die, she brought him back with some sort of magic with the monkey.

The guy they met in Tortuga? Isn't that Norrington...the colonel which chased them in the first movie and who liked Elisabeth?

And uhhh....I didn't understand the who Davey Jones lovelife story...so....*shrugs*

But hey - I think Elisabeth is definately attracted to Jack. I mean the compass is suppose to point to whatever your heart's desires the most, right? Well, remember, it kept pointing to Jack and she kept getting frustrated with it, saying the compass was stupid and broken and such...

That reminds me! I wonder what is on JACK'S heart! Remember he couldn't find a clear heading either. Hmmm....! I wonder!

Oh, for someone who was wondering what was going on in the beginning because they msised it... At the beginning, it shows Elisabeth waiting in the rain in a wedding dress, then soldiers surround her... They've captured Will Turner and her father [both of whom are present]... and a new commodor reads out charges against them for supposedly plotting to free Captain Jack Sparrow. So that's why Elisabeth was thrown into jail and stuff :] Eveyrthing else should've been explained so...] :] I think that's it~

By the way, yah that guy they met in Tortuga was Commodore Norrington... And yah, it was the guy who liked Elisabeth in the other one~

aaaaaaah just came back from watching it... it was good but there were some confusing things....... like the ol voodoo lady man i didnt understand anything she said stupid accent...

man the plot wasnt as good as the first... wasnt clear at all, so random... altho there were a lot of cute/funny scenes, yea jack is good, he definitely cant be dead right? haha i was like cracking up so much when he like goes into the kraken ....... back from the dead yea?!? its like freakin pinocchio! ....

and yes keira + johnny = too hott

i watched the movie yesterday and like it became sold out for like a LOT of the times @_@ i got there just in time with my friends haha xD

the movie was long; i was wondering when it would end but then i didn't want it to end cuz i wanted to keep watching it o.o

it was kind of ... a bit weird but there was a lot of action and funny scenes that i enjoyed X]

i couldn't understand most of what that voodoo woman said = =;;

uhg. i sat in the 2nd row cause there were soo many ppl and i was moviehopping, and i couldn't understand what they were saying. i guess the piratey voices, along with bad sound ruined the movie for me. it was kind of long too.
