well, asians have this trait... its called "saving face" even in our country, if you got pregnant out of wedlock your parents will disown you and people will criticize you.

The difference is Namie has talent and Leah is just a bored model who decided to sing lol

Which is why whether or not she actually makes a comeback is pretty much solely reliant on her getting her pre-pregancy body back like Namie did- so she can pose for more pictures- not sing.

In the end, it's not the pregnancy that will necessarily ruin her career, but how she handles it when she comes back. Amuro's fans didn't ditch her because she got hitched and knocked up (they were actually approving), the problem was that she changed the things that made her popular because she felt she couldn't do them as a mother. That was a mistake.

I've never heard anything about her having to work to support her family.

Her parents were dealers at Las Vegas casinos weren't they?

& the modeling gig just "happened" for her. I know she used to be a gogo dancer... but what are these "hardships" you're talking about?

i think i saw it in an interview (she was with some other guests..i forgot the name of the show..lolz..)she said she had to help her family... her parents weren't probably making enough money so she helped.. ^_^

It would be better for her career though. she probably wasn't expecting a baby anyways. Not saying she's going to be a terrible mother, but bringing up a kid is harder than people think. It takes planning and complete maturity to raise a child so that he/she would grow up healthy. 22 is a bit young to become a mother.. most 22 year olds are still kids (fresh out of university.. or still a student).
