Which Korean actors started out as hunky models?

Ever notice how impossibly attractive Korean drama actors are? Whether it’s their chiselled looks or towering heights, the actors remind you of the models that walk down the runways during Fashion Week.

And as it turns out, a good number of them dabbled in modelling before starting their acting careers.

Check out some of the hottest actors who successfully walked from the runway and into our screens.

Song Seung-heon is among the first model-turned-actors since the Hallyu Wave began. He debuted as a model in 1995 and starred in the popular sitcom Three Guys and Three Girls in 1996.

But it was only in 2000 when he was catapulted to international fame after scoring a lead role in Autumn in My Heart, alongside Song Hye-kyo. The drama remains to be one of the most iconic Korean dramas.

The actor has since gone on to act in many different dramas and movies, proving his lasting popularity for over 20 years. Some of his more recent works include Black and Saimdang, Memoir of Colors.

Since the news is currently circulating the web, a representative from his agency, Starship Entertainment, gave their response and stated that Song Seung Heon was indeed offered to star in OCN's "Voice 4" but the actor is still reviewing it.

OCN previously confirmed that they are planning to release a 4th season of "Voice." The Korean drama aired its first season in 2017 and its story is about an emergency call center and the people working there. They try to fight crime using the limited information they get from the urgent calls they receive.

The drama is broadcasted every Saturday and Sunday on OCN from January 14 to March 12, 2017.

Because the drama was a massive hit, the producers decided to make a second season titled "Voice 2," which was aired the following year (2018). This was again followed by another season, "Voice 3," in 2019. The fourth season is set in Jeju Island with a new set of characters and slated to air in 2021.

** This came from KingChoice, which is a popular polling website where fans of K-Pop can participate in various polls put up on a semi-regular basis on topics such as idols, ships, songs, and other categories. These polls often draw in hundreds of thousands of votes total, so the results come from a pretty large pool of participants! While of course the resulting list will always be subjective, it’s still interesting to see who ends up on the top of the chart and whether or not your favorite artist ended up where you think they should.  :kisslevel:

*** It’s official: Song Seung Heon will be joining Lee Ha Na in the upcoming fourth season of OCN’s hit drama “Voice”,  which will premiere in June. The upcoming season will pit the Golden Time Team against a vicious murderer with extraordinary hearing abilities that rival their own. Song Seung Heon will be playing new character Derek Jo, a unit leader at the LAPD who winds up collaborating with the Golden Time Team. He's the best fit for the role of Derek Jo. I'm excited to see Song Seung Heon in “Voice 4”. I guess this is a great duo since I'm not so familiar with the female lead. I missed SSH on the small screen. It's been quite a while since his last drama. I feel like I've been waiting forever - hahaha - :Fist1:

Song Seung-heon, Lee Ha-na to headline OCN’s ‘Voice 4’

AKR20210329030500005_01_i_P2.jpg

OCN has confirmed Song Seung-heon and Lee Ha-na as the lead stars of its upcoming series Voice 4.

Voice is a crime-thriller drama that follows the Golden Time Team, a special crew composed of employees of the 112 emergency call center, specialists, and detectives. They work together in solving cases within the most crucial minutes of the crime, starting with only the clues and information they get from the phone calls.

Lee Ha-na (When the Weather Is Fine) is set to reprise her role as Kang Kwon-joo, a police officer and gifted voice profiler who has exceptional hearing. In the first season (2017), Kwon-joo worked with Moo Jin-hyuk (Jang Hyuk, Tell Me What You Saw), a homicide detective in search of his wife’s killer. In the next two installments, she partnered up with Do Kang-woo (Lee Jin-wook, Sweet Home) in taking down a serial killer and an international cartel who make their dealings in the dark web.

In Voice 4, she will work with Derek Jo (Song Seung-heon, Dinner Mate), a unit leader at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). He is described as a principled detective who does not tolerate little mistakes, does not compromise, and has overwhelming charisma. He will collaborate with the Golden Time Team as they set out to find the serial murderer who has the same special ability as Kwon-joo.

The production crew said, “The casting of Song Seung-heon and Lee Ha-na alone is enough. Song Seung-heon, who has solid and in-depth acting skills, is [ready] to bring out 200 percent of the various charms of Derek Jo, [a man] with pain and secrets. In addition, Lee Ha-na, who has successfully played the role of Kang Kwon-joo, the heroine of Voice, does not need [much explanation]. She will continue to play an active part in season 4, [just as she] has successfully led each season. We will meet you with Voice 4, which will not go against the expectations of viewers who love Voice. Please look forward to the Golden Time Team and watch [Derek and Kwon-joo] as they protect precious lives.”

Voice 4, also known as Voice 4: Time of Judgment, is spearheaded by Shin Yong-hwi, director of Tunnel (2017), and Ma Jin-won, the screenwriter of Voice’s past three seasons. It is slated to air as a 14-episode drama in June, following the conclusion of the upcoming Saturday-Sunday series Dark Hole.

Song Seung-heon, Lee Ha-na confirmed to star in fourth season of 'Voice'

By Kwak Yeon-soo

Actors Song Seung-heon and Lee Ha-na have been confirmed to star in the fourth season of OCN's crime thriller series, "Voice."

Song will play Derrick Cho, a headstrong gang unit officer for the Los Angeles Police Department who collaborates with the Korean police to solve crime case. Lee will reprise her role as police officer Kang Kwon-joo gifted with perfect hearing-analysis skills.

Song and Lee will showcase their seemingly conflicting yet ultimately complementary work relationship.

"Voice" tells the story of a 112 emergency call center and its dispatch team solving mysterious crime cases using limited information they get from urgent calls. Jang Hyuk starred in the first season, followed by Lee Jin-wook who played the male lead in seasons 2 and 3. "Voice" received international acclaim and was sold to North America, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines among others.

Director Shin Yong-hwi, best known for his previous works such as OCN's "Tunnel" (2017) and tvN's "Cross" (2018), will helm the series. Ma Jin-won, who has written scripts for the first three seasons of the show, will pen the fourth installment.

"Song is most suited for the role of Derrick Cho, who is very charismatic. We believe that Song will bring out the appeal of Cho, a character who possesses top skills as a police officer, but hides emotional pain and secrets," the production team said in a statement, Monday.

"I initially felt lot of pressure about returning for the new season, thinking it should be better than the previous one. After receiving the script, however, I have good feelings for the upcoming season. I hope viewers will look forward to it," Lee said.

The fourth season of "Voice" will premiere in June.

*** I'm just so glad that there's something to look forward to on SSH soon. I find him so much easier to watch when he is starring in a rom-com genre. I’m aware that he could nail his role here, though. "Voice 4"  will premiere in June on OCN. Can't wait..... :kisslevel:

*** I'm glad that SSH has been confirmed to do this upcoming drama. I love to see him as the male lead for this new season. Also, glad that the broadcast date has been confirmed as well for this next chapter. OCN has been waiting for a big hit this year & I hope this drama will give this cable channel luck again. "Voice" has always been a winner for OCN. This 4th season will air in June. Unfortunately, I've never watched any of the previous seasons so, no idea if those were good.  :Twerkdatbutt:
