Well well...may I have the honour once again for starting the thread of the upcoming drama of Joe & Ariel. (Third time's the charm *wink wink*, hehe, if you know what I truly mean!) :lol:

I wasn't planning to start this, since it's still too early in the game. But as per Jenny C's request, I thought, "Why not?!" I am just flattered that someone actually wanted me to do this. So I will be updating the 1st post as often as I can, or as often as news surface.

Since LoB has just began filming, there aren't much news yet. HOWEVER, the press conference will be held on Sep. 1st!!! Hopefully, more pics then!!! Woohooooo!

Originally, this drama is supposed to feature the pairing of Joe Cheng and Barbie Hsu (otherwise known as Big S...think Meteor Garden). ( :rolleyes: I might be biased, but I truly can't imagine them as a pair...it's like an older sister + younger brother dynamic. But then again, that's just my humble opinion.)

Thanks to many many lucky stars, Big S backed out suddenly (maybe two weeks or so before actual filming). It was quite shocking because the poster and the fitting (of clothes) were done, etc. Nobody truly knows the real reason behind Big S's sudden decision of stepping down. Rumour had it she didn't want to dress in down-to-earth clothes (since her character is supposed to be a poor girl)...but I believe it was MAINLY due to the weight gain request by the director.

Anyway, who really cares now, because the Kiss fans are screaming in absolute joy of this amazing news - Ariel has decided to take over the role on such short notice! (I was just too shocked for words when I found out...I can barely believe it since I never thought Joe & Ariel will work together again so soon. Though don't get me wrong, I am definitely NOT complaining here!)

If anyone is worried about being bored of Joe & Ariel...DON'T be! Because it will be like a character-switch from the Kiss series. Imagine Ariel being the female version of Zhi Shu, and Joe being the male version of Xiang Qin. Kind of...mainly, Ariel is this poor girl who has to support all her family. Therefore, she is very good with money, etc. On the other hand, Joe is this lazy, but good-looking guy (model?)...although he looks like he is rich, he is actually very poor.

Please correct me if the above plot is wrong...I don't have much info on my hands. So yeah, it will be one heck of an amazing drama! Hehehe...refreshing indeed!

Yvonne good job! it's good you already opened this thread...at least there's a place where we can share updates about the series...i didn't know where to put the updates!....just so it will be somewhat complete...i'll post the other stuff i got before about Lob...

1. i got some info about LoB from this blog: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_4bdfced50100alvq.html

i don't know who he is but from what i gather from his post he is an actor based in beijing and he played a small part in the drama that director lin is helping film in China...(i'm not so sure bout him so correct me if i am wrong...i really don't know the guy)

On the 25th director Lin will be going back to taiwan to film Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng's Love or Bread

(the next sentence said that mid-Nov director Lin will be going to either Suzhou or Shanghai to film...

so i guess he aims to wrap LoB in about 2 months! unless the Suzhou or Shanghai trip will be to film scenes for LoB and not a new different series...)

2. according to the blog owner http://www.wretch.cc/blog/millie8233/22644410 today, 26th August Joe and Ariel were filming at the area where she lives...she said that they took some pictures and will upload them in the coming days!!!

3. 27th August there were 2 new fan entries about the filming of LoB...

a. an ariel fan who was out to go walking at night saw Joe filming a scene where he was just walking and in the description Joe walked like the former president's son-in-law and that he also walked like a hoodlum...and she also saw ariel whom she described as slim and does not have a baby face anymore...she said she was able to take 1 photo with ariel using her phone but it is very blurry cause it was night time...she said they finished around 9pm

b. a fan who went bicycling saw Joe for the very first time and in her shock she wasn't able to snap a photo...she was bicycling and she saw Joe and he was running away from her (he was filming) Joe then was wearing bright blue polo shirt with a pink necktie...she said he was very handsome!!! this happened around 7pm

today i reorganized my camera and i just discovered that i was able to capture ariel on film

when i was taking a picture of Joe she was already beside him chatting with him

unexpectedly i thought that dhe was his assistant

unfortunately i was only able to take this 1 picture...

wht a pity only ariel's face was seen (looks really thin)

only Joe's back was seen but his blue shirt can be seen

so far that's all i got about the filming...

oh and by the way, if i remember correctly the role was originally meant for ariel but since there was paper rose at that time ariel did not accept the role of shan mei...so the role went to barbie and then barbie backed out and so the role was given to ariel again since paper rose was moved to next year...that's how i remember it....correct me if i'm wrong...

Yvonne i also found a short synopsis of the story but it's in chinese...i'm too lazy to translate it right now...do you want it? the story between Frank and Shan mei seems pretty interesting...i can't wait!!!

WOW! Them again?! Yay!! I really liked ISWAK 1 and 2 XD. I can't wait to watch it. I think it'll be a little difficult to actually imagine them as another character other than Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin but i'll get used to it after a few episodes XD
