rubie
Ryu Seung Bum?!?! Jin Goo!!!? Thanks Huang for the thread and update. --- August 25, 2008 Ah-jung Kim (200 Pounds Beauty) set to star in “26 Years” (working title) Posted by luna6 Ah-jung Kim is the actresses that went from extra-large to damn-fine in “200 Pounds Beauty.” Since her break-out performance in that film, Ah-jung Kim hasn’t been seen at all on the big screen and only once on the small screen (cameo appearance in the SBS drama “On Air”). Now Ah-jung Kim is ready to star in her next major project, a film with the working title of “26 Years” … and it’s nothing like “200 Pounds Beauty.” “26 Years” will be produced by Chungeorahm Films, directed by Hae-yeong Lee (Like A Virgin) and based off of a popular internet comic written by Kang Pool. The story deals with the second generation of victims arising out of the Gwangju Democratization Movement (the 2007 film “May 18” also deals with the Gwangju Uprising). Ah-jung Kim will play a character well versed in competition shooting events (skeet, trap shooting etc). Her dad was killed in the Gwangju Democratization Movement. Ah-jung Kim’s co-star will be played Seung-beom Ryoo. Ryoo’s character also has ties with the Gwangju Democratization Movement, but he is now a gangster. These two characters then get involved in a plan to assassinate the ex-president of South Korea, Chun Doo-hwan. Filming for “26 Years” will start in September, with its final release dated slated for sometime in 2009. When the film is released, it will be 29 years since the Gwangju Democratization Movement and the movie makers are discussing whether to change the movie title to “29 Years” in honor of its anniversary. rubie
Tuesday, 2 September 2008 Chungeorahm sets up "29 Years" Company behind megahit "THe Host" unveil new project Written by Han Sunhee SEOUL - Chungeorahm, the Korean shingle responsible for mega hit "The Host," has unveiled actioner "29 Years" as its next big budget production. Like "The Host" which was full of veiled social criticism, "29 Years" is certain to be contentious in Korea. Based on a popular comic strip serialized online by cartoonist Kang Full ("A.P.T."), pic probes the Gwangju Massacre, a real life incident in 1980 when troops opened fire on civilians in the city and killed thousands. Story follows a former soldier who, in order to assuage his guilty conscience 29 years later, sets out to assassinate the person who ordered the massacre. Former Korean president Chun Doo-hwan is widely suspected to have given the order and the film makes a fictionalized Chun the assassin's target. Scripted and to be helmed by Lee Hae-young, pic is to be produced by Chungeorahm on a $6.5 million budget, with lensing beginning this month and delivery skedded for April 2009. Chungeorahm has assembled an ensemble cast led by Kim A-jung ("200 Pounds Beauty") and Ryoo Seung-bum ("Bloody Tie") and also stars Byun Hee-bong ("The Host",) Jin Goo ("Epitaph") and Chun Ho-jin ("G.P.506".) Chungeorahm is retaining local distribution rights and has not yet fixed int'l sales representation. willenette
Wowowww...... but just wondering if filming will start next month JJM is still finishing the shooting of his movie, Frozen Flower with JIS. How could he manage to shoot 2-projects at the same time unless his shoot for the FF will end soon. But so happy for him that he has another movie. Another work to look forward to from him soon. I'm not into anime/cartoon but no choice but to watch this since he's in it. This man is just too busy, doing 2 movies in a row but I hope he still would get enough rest while working.
