Guest JiSuLee
well if you're thinking the ACTUAL hiphop shoes. capezio is bomb
Guest tklam
When I was on my high school dance team, I just wore converses for the hiphop dances. They're generally really comfortable and affordable so I recommend them. :]
Guest sungaaah
^ ^ i agree, capezio hip hop shoes are soo comfortable to dance in but if you mean street shoes for hiphop, dunks or airs are very popular and easy to dance in as well =]
Guest e00z
chucks are a popular option because they're lightweight and always fashionable
Guest Onesweetypie
For real danceteam wear just look for dance sneakeres on dance website. For normal/street hip hop, my teachers and friends usually wear chuck or nikes. They're lightweight and don't have much grip =]
Guest z00ey
ah capezio! you can never go wrong with them : ] i use dunks mostly... but i like using converse high tops too.. that are broken in x10 haha. but yeah.. i'm a fan of dancing in high tops. if you're looking for a sneaker (outside of dancewear category i.e. capezio) i think you're fine with any sneaker as long as it's broken in. but hey it doesn't hurt to have good looking shoes ;]
Guest chic_
not a big fan of chucks for dancing - they don't absorb enough shock (if that makes any sense) I would recommend af1 (high tops specifically)
Guest chrisng
hahah xDD nike cortez are pretty good i would also recommend chucks because they're really lightweight and comfortable xD
jaceone
Nike FC's are really comfortable and light-weight if you can get your hands on them. Reebok Classics are pretty low-cost and one of the most comfortable shoes i've ever used. New Balance's are really comfortable and breathe really well. NB came out with a lot of different colors over the past couple of years, especially their japan and europe inspired ones, so you'd have a good variety to choose from if you know where to look. and none of these shoes leave huge scuff marks so i'm sure your instructor will appreciate that. i still don't get how people can dance in chucks all the time. like the person said above, they don't absorb the shock. i had to buy gel insoles for mine. Guest MULOAN
chucks are the worse shoe to dance in period. i like onitsuka tigers and Nike Blazers
Guest c.to_
something comfortable and won't slip of your feet. For hip hope dancing, i'd probably say Adidas are popular and the sole won't run out too fast from use.
