Rain And Lim Ji Yeon Are Shrouded In Mystery And Tension In “Welcome 2 Life” Poster

MBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Welcome 2 Life” has released a new special poster of Rain and Lim Ji Yeon!

 

“Welcome 2 Life” is a romantic comedy about a selfish lawyer who gets sucked into a parallel universe because of an accident and starts living a new life as an upright prosecutor. Rain will be taking on the role of Lee Jae Sang, a vicious lawyer who helps law-breakers for his own benefit, and Lim Ji Yeon will play Ra Si On, the only female detective in her major crimes unit. In the real world, she is Lee Jae Sang’s ex-girlfriend, but in the parallel world, she is a loving mother and the wife of the upstanding Lee Jae Sang.

 

The new poster of “Welcome 2 Life” has Rain and Lim Ji Yeon standing back-to-back. While Rain appears to have caught on to something with his sharp gaze, Lim Ji Yeon wears a deep and secretive gaze.

 

In the background, the faces of Kwak Si Yang, Son Byung Ho, Han Sang Jin, and Park Won Sang also appear. Furthermore, on each side of the poster is a city landscape, turned 180 degrees away from each other, hinting at the parallel worlds while building curiosity for what kind of relationship Rain and Lim Ji Yeon will share in each of the different worlds.

The production team for “Welcome 2 Life” shared, “Along with Rain and Lim Ji Yeon, the characters and their relationships in the two parallel worlds will sometimes create laughter and sometimes tension, making the story even more solid. Please look forward to

‘Welcome 2 Life,’ which will broadcast its first episode on August 5.”

 

“Welcome 2 Life” will premiere after the conclusion of “Partners for Justice 2” on August 5 at 8:55 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.

Upcoming MBC Monday-Tuesday drama “Welcome 2 Life” has shared new stills of Rain, Lim Ji Yeon, and Kwak Si Yang meeting in court.

 

“Welcome 2 Life” is a investigative comedy that follows a self-centered lawyer who only cared about his own self interests get sucked into a parallel universe through an accident and begin to lead the life of an upstanding lawyer.

 

Rain will take on the role of Lee Jae Sang, the lawyer who gets a second chance at life. Lim Ji Yeon will be Ra Si On, a detective who is his ex girlfriend in the real world but his wife in the parallel universe. Kwak Si Yang will take on the role of Gu Dong Taek, Ra Si On’s senior and partner. Though the two detectives are at odds with Lee Jae Sang in the real world, they will work together on a special team in the parallel universe.

 

The new stills show Rain, Lim Ji Yeon, and Kwak Si Yang in the middle of a trial. Rain is showing off a confident aura as a lawyer as he fights for his client, and the smile on his face seems to signal trouble for those not on his side. Meanwhile, Lim Ji Yeon and Kwak Si Yang can’t hold back their surprise and anger as they listen to the trial, with Lim Ji Yeon especially getting affected by what is happening in front of her.

This is the relationship the trio share in the real world. While Lee Jae Sang is willing to do whatever it takes to win, Ra Si On and Gu Dong Taek become frustrated every time he allows one of their suspected criminals to walk free. While they constantly butt heads in the real world, it will be interesting to see how well they work together in the parallel world.

 

“Welcome To Life” is set to premiere on August 5 at 8:55 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.

“Welcome 2 Life” Writer On Casting Rain, Lim Ji Yeon, And Kwak Si Yang + Names Reasons To Watch Drama

Ahead of the premiere of MBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Welcome 2 Life,” writer Yoo Hee Kyung talked about the main cast.

 

“Welcome 2 Life,” starring Rain, Lim Ji Yeon, and Kwak Si Yang, is an investigative romantic comedy about a selfish lawyer named Lee Jae Sang (played by Rain) who, due to an accident, falls into a parallel world, where he starts life anew as an upright prosecutor.

 

Writer Yoo Hee Kyung talked about the unwavering trust she has in the lead cast, saying, “A big characteristic of my writing is that it straddles the line between a comedy and a conventional drama. I’m aiming to write a drama where viewers will be rolling the floor laughing one second, then bawling their eyes out the next. Because of this, I needed actors with a range of acting ability that would allow them to do both the comedy and the drama.”

 

The writer said, “With that in mind, Rain is someone I really wanted to cast. We met and did readings, and he’s quick on his feet beyond your imagination, and he’s a smart actor. Moreover, he gets himself immersed in his character well, so even I, as the writer, got sucked into the drama during the reading.”

 

Yoo Hee Kyung said she has been a fan of Lim Ji Yeon since the actress’s debut. “She was such a fresh face that I fell for her. The character of Ra Si On may seem tough, but she’s much more loving. Lim Ji Yeon in real life is really easy-going and full of energy, so I thought she’d be perfect for the role.”

 

What she loved about Kwak Si Yang was his duality. Physically, he’s very masculine, but he’s played the “sweet guy” role well thus far.

 

His character Goo Dong Taek is just like that. He doesn’t hold back when chasing the bad guys, but he’s also soft when it comes to the woman he loves and protects.”

 

The juxtaposition of romantic comedy and investigation is why viewers should tune in to the drama, said the writer. “From the perspective of genre, the drama goes back and forth between a romantic comedy and investigative drama. It’s great to watch on hot summer nights, with its comedy and chilling tension.”

 

“Welcome 2 Life” premieres August 5 at 8:55 p.m. KST on MBC.
