*** Disney+ has been generously dishing out promos for  Red Swan, readying us for the angst-ridden chaebol battles in new character posters and a long teaser this week. It’s a squabbling war over what’s mine versus yours. Wan-soo’s new bodyguard and ex-cop Seo Do-yoon (Rain) next enters the scene, whose real reason for entering Hwa-in is to investigate his friend’s death and sniff out the murderer. Convinced that this same person is now out for Wan-soo’s blood, Do-yoon warns her not to trust others while also vowing to protect her. Disney+’s Red Swan will be premiering next week on July 3. This looks and feels like a high budget drama. It's been years since I've seen his Ninja Assassin Hollywood movie but seeing the fight scenes here instantly made me think of it.   :Twerkdatbutt:

*** Hulu now shows the first two episodes teaser that will stream Wednesday for viewers in the US.   :emmm:

Red Swan airs tomorrow/July3

Time slot: Wednesdays
Broadcaster: Disney+
Genre: Action, melo, drama
Episode count: 10

Reasons to watch: We’ve all been burned by high expectations of a Disney+ production… but we’ve also been treated to some real gems, and that is where I am hoping we’ll fall with Red Swan. Amongst the recent surge of sweet rom-coms, it’s time for a more melo take on romance, what with Kim Haneul as the trophy wife married into a chaebol family, and Rain as the bodyguard who’ll protect her at all costs. (Full disclosure: I’m a sucker for the bodyguard setup and I always will be.) With ~all the drama~ promised — scheming chairwomen, cheating husbands, near-death explosions, probably some poison too — I’m hoping for a charged and wild ride that isn’t afraid to be fun.

*** On the morning of July 2nd, the press conference for Disney+’s original series “Red Swan” was held at Conrad Seoul in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included actors Kim Ha-neul, Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), Jung Gyu-woon, Seo Yi-sook, Ki Eun-se and director Park Hong-kyun. During the presscon, Rain revealed efforts behind eye acting in "Red Swan". Rain, who plays Seo Do-yoon, a bodyguard of the Hwain family, shared, “I wanted the action scenes to look cool, so I had many conversations with the martial arts director. I paid a lot of attention to these aspects during filming. Instead of having many cuts, we aimed for long takes to show the full scope of the action. I haven’t seen the final product yet, so I’m looking forward to it.'  Rain, who had to portray deep emotions toward Wan-soo (Kim Ha-neul) even in extreme situations, confessed, "It was very challenging. When you’re sad, you have to show sadness; when you’re lonely, you have to show loneliness, but I couldn’t use words and had to convey everything with my eyes. That was difficult. I have small eyes, so to prevent them from swelling, I fasted the night before or ran for 30 minutes before shooting.“   :foryou:
