-영화 ‘우생순’에서 만들어진 체력 발휘

지난 8월 21일 MBC 양주 문화동산 야외 잔디밭에서는 40여명 되는 [내여자]후속 [종합병원2]의 (권음미, 노창 극본, 노도철 연출) 스태프들이 옹기종기 소풍 온 사람들 마냥 신나게 모여있었다.

축구 복장을 완전하게 갖춰 입은 노도철 PD의 인사말과 함께 [종합병원2]의 두 주인공 김정은 차태현 등이 ‘종합’(차태현) 과 ‘병원’(김정은) 두 팀의 선봉장으로 나섰다.

노 PD는 “촬영 전에 배우들과 골방에 모여 놀던 추억이 있어서…. 촬영이 시작되면 병원에 갇혀 4개월 동안 봐야 하는데 서로 친해지면 좋겠다는 생각에 마련한 자리”라고 말했다.

10년전 메디컬 드라마 ‘해바라기’ 에서 환자와 인턴 콤비로 사랑받았던 이들 콤비는 이번에는 연상 연하 레지던트 동급생으로 등장한다. 최진상과 정하윤. 덜렁거리고 코믹하지만 환자와 인간적 교분을 쌓은데는 최고의 화술을 가진 최진상 역의 차태현. 사법고시를 패스했으나 의료 전문변호사가 되고자 다시 의대에 진학한 똘망똘망한 레지던트 정하윤 역의 김정은.

아직 1~3회 대본이 완전치 않은 상황, 방송이 석달 넘게 남은 상황에서 노도철 PD는 과거에도 스태프들과 친목을 도모하기 위해 종종 갖던 단합대회를 이번에 개최하게 된 것.

드넓고 싱그러운 양주 문화동산 잔디밭에서 벌어진 첫 번째 단합대회 경기는 2인 3각 릴레이 경주, 연이어 전체 팀이 모두 발을 묶고 벌이는 10인 11각까지...

차태현 팀은 발이 꼬이면서 페이스를 잃었지만 김정은 팀은 크게 ‘하나 둘~’ 하면서 스텝을 맞춰서 찰떡 호흡을 맞춰 나갔다.

10인 11각에서도 차태현의 ‘종합’팀은 한쪽이 쏠리면서 넘어졌지만 김정은의 ‘병원’팀은 구령에 맞춰 경쾌한 걸음걸이를 내디뎌 압도적인 승리를 거뒀다.

이어 열린 이어달리기에서도 김정은은 ‘우생순’촬영 시절 만든 강인한 체력이 바탕이 되어서인지 상대 배우들을 압도적으로 이겨나갔다. 전적 2: 0

마지막으로 서바이벌 경기가 펼쳐졌다. 인근 서바이벌 경기장에서 열린 승부에서 김정은의 ‘병원’ 팀은 오랜 팀웍이 마치 있었던 것처럼 수비와 공격에서 파상 공세를 펼친 끝에 2대 1로 승리를 거둬 통산 3: 0으로 차태현의 ‘종합’팀을 물리쳤다.

스태프들은 이같은 김정은의 강철 체력에 대해 ‘우생순 효과’라며 박수를 보냈다.

김정은은 “드라마를 촬영하기 전에 이런 단합대회를 해보리라고는 상상도 못했다‘면서 ”잘해야 회식정도 하는 단합대회지만 이렇게 온몸으로 함께 호흡을 맞추는 단합대회가 너무 즐겁다“고 말했다.

차태현도 “처음에는 어색했는데 할수록 더 재미있어지고 동료 선후배들과 친해져 좋은 경험”이라고 말했다.

노도철 PD는 이같은 뜨거운 열기의 여세를 몰아 저녁을 먹은 뒤에 대본 리딩으로 들어갔다. 가톨릭 강남 성모병원의 실제 의료진이 직접 참여한 대본 리딩에는 전문적 의학지식과 용어를 사전에 설명하고 대본을 읽으면서 의문점에 답하는 방식으로 진지하게 세시간여동안 이어졌다.

14년전 원조 [종합병원]의 주인공 이재룡은 “그당시 워낙 의학지식과 대본을 달달 외워서인지 대본이 반갑고 익숙하다”면서 기대감을 나타냈다. 차태현의 코믹스러운 대사는 대본리딩에서도 가장 많은 웃음을 자아내게 하기도 했다.

밤 열한시가 넘어서야 공식 리딩이 끝난후 이 작품으로 스타 작가로 떠오른 최완규 작가와 이재룡 심양홍 류진 류승수 여호민 고주희 개그맨 김병만 등이 가세한 뒷풀이는 더욱 뜨거운 열기속에 깊은 밤으로 이어졌다.

[종합병원2]는 오는 11월 중순 [내여자]후속으로 주말 특별기획으로 방영될 예정이다.

I know most of the attention is on Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jung Eun, but personally, I'm watching this for Lee Jae Ryong, Ryu Seung Soo, Do Ji Won and Ryu Jin. That is one impressive lineup! Oh, Go Joon Hee is also a plus. I remember liking her in What's Up Fox?, but I haven't been interested in anything she's been in since. (and what's with the name change? is it because Kim Eun Joo is too similar to Lee Eun Joo?? I like her real name more..)

MBC 수목드라마 ‘베토벤 바이러스’ 후속작으로 ‘종합병원2’가 방영될 것으로 최종 결정됐다.

김정은 차태현의 10년만의 재회로 화제를 모으고 있는 ‘종합병원2’(극본 최완규 권음미 노창, 연출 노도철)가 오는 11월 19일부터 수목드라마에 편성됐다.

당초 MBC 수목드라마 ‘베토벤 바이러스’의 후속 드라마로 알려졌던 ‘돌아온 일지매’(극본 김광식 도영명 / 연출 황인뢰 김수영)는 ‘종합병원2’ 후속으로 내년 초 방송으로 편성이 밀렸다.

‘돌아온 일지매’는 배우 정일우 윤진서 김민종 정혜영 등이 출연해 현재 촬영에 박차를 가하고 있다.

10/28/08 -- Originally, MBC planned to air the Wednesday-Thursday drama "Iljimae Returns" on 11/19, following the final episode of "Beethoven Virus". On 10/28, MBC announces that it will instead broadcast "General Hospital 2 (종합병원2)" on 11/19. In consequence, the broadcasting of "Iljimae Returns" is delayed to early 2009.

"General Hospital 2 (종합병원2)" is led by Kim Jung Eun and Cha Tae Hyun. Originally, this drama is scheduled to be aired on 11/15, following the final episode of the weekend drama "My Woman".

This medical drama is the sequel of the drama "General Hospital" aired in 1994. Kim Jung Eun and Cha Tae Hyun play roles of resident doctors. They are staff of senior doctors played by actor Lee Jae Ryung and actress Kim Soh Yi (이재룡, 김소이).

In August and September, KJE and CTH have participated in filming in Catholic University of Korea. KJE states, "We filmed scenes in the emergency room and I experienced the process of severing appendix and treating horrible neck injury." CTH and KJE collaborated in the drama "Sunflower" aired in 1998. In "Sunflower", they played doctors. CTH says, "My experience gained from 'Sunflower' indeed help my performance in this drama."

Actors Ryu Jin, Lee Jong Won, and Ryu Seung Soo (류진, 이종원, 류승수) also act in this drama. Lee Jong Won plays a cold-hearted surgeon.

KBS, MBC, ad SBS recently decide to temporarily eliminate some time slots allocated to dramas. On 10/28, MBC decides that no weekend drama will be aired at 10:35pm for 6 months after the final episode of the drama "My Woman" is aired. Thus, "General Hospital 2" is moved to time slots on Wednesday and Thursday. Likewise, KBS2 will eliminate time slots allocated to daily drama after the current daily drama "Dukbaeki Returns (돌아온 뚝배기)" ends. SBS will discontinue Friday drama after the current drama "God's Scale (신의 저울)" ended on 10/24.
