I can't imagine them not doing the Sara/Yuki storyline because A) It's Kim Bum, after his success in EoE they have to give him something to do. And B)They have a lot of episodes to fill. If I'm proven wrong I'll be very upset.

I'm pretty sure they will include Soujiro's story. If not, they might as well just have his statue there... hehe :)

Actually, there's a post from dcinside containing a message which Kim Bum wrote online, giving some insight to his character - So Yi Jung. I think the writer did expand a bit on the character's background. Instead of coming from a 'tea ceremony' family, So Yi Jung comes from a family of artists and he himself is a ceramic (pottery) artist. His family owns a museum, gained because his grandfather was involved in an independence movement. And the rest is pretty much similar to the manga - a playboy due to a painful first love and family problems (if I remember correctly, his father have a mistress and his older brother left home).

Here's the link if anyone wants to read it: http://gall.dcinside.com/list.php?id=kbs_d...3829&page=4

If those are true and the script won't change then it's perfect. The storyline is reliable. Ceramic artists....uhm.....I love them. Imagine Bum when he's making pottery, so beautiful......oh my.....can't wait for the film.

Tobemist: Thanks for the info on Makino/Jan-Di and Soujiro/Yi-Jung. :) The info about his family was able to own a museum because his grandfather was involved in an independence movement is, in particular, very interesting. I like that the backgrounds of F4 characters are different from the original, since the setting will be in Korea. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me tea ceremonies isn't as culturally important in Korea as they might be in Japan. And apparently, Rui's grandfather (a new character) will play a role in Rui's expanded storyline. I wonder how that'll turn out...

luthien: Thanks for the compliment. I'll try to do my best for this drama as well when it comes out. And I'm in the same shoes as you are: Kim Bum is the only actor I'm really familiar with and I didn't fall for his acting until I watched him in EoE. As for the poster, it's not official -- so don't worry. ;)

i think the korean f4 have the international look and height so i'm not surprised if its gonna be big in the U.S more than the 2 other hyd

^ lol if you actually read the manga before watchin the japanese version, you will realize that it failed on so many levels O_O I can't see anything perfect about it, but then again for new viewers who never read the manga before, it may have been good to them.

So im really hoping this will be better than the japanese and taiwanese version. Taiwanese version follows the manga very closely but acting + actors + scenes were pretty bad.

dudeeeeeeeee, i so agree! my sis first saw the japanese version and she loved it so much and made me watch a few, but it wasn't that interesting... good looking guys, common girl, romance blooms later on, predictable... but i kept hearing about how popular it was so i decided to read the manga, which was really violent on some levels, but i guess romantic in the typical sense... but anyway, i saw the japanese adaptation and i was baffled. it was such bad acting and it just, like you said, failed on so many levels.

and then i go to these threads and hear, OMG the japanese version was perfect, nothing can outdo it, and i wonder if these people read the manga before...

i mean, no offense to ANY versions. i'm sure trying to enact the perfect world of manga is near impossible, but i must say that the korean version, at least its most of its cast, is VERY close to the manga. well, i skipped over about 60 books in the series, but i think i read most to judge fairly.

anyways, i'm really excited!

That's really interesting, I knew his father was an artist of some description but not the other details. Has anything been leaked about the others?

I love that tptb are changing the story because after watching two live action versions and reading the manga a lot, a dedicated Korean live action translation would be boring but on the other hand I don't it to be changed too much. Changing details? Fine but imo the main gist has to be the same.

Here is Sakurako in Korean Version, she is acting in Kingdom of the wind. Lee Shi Young

When I watched her in Kingdom of the wind, I hoped she will be Yuki in Hana. She looks very cute, and will be a good couple with Kim Bum. But she was chosen to be Sakurako.

I heard that Kwak Ji Min will be Yuki.

She looks like Sakurako more than Yuki. I don't like her. Hope she won't be Yuki. I love Bum.

I agree that the possible Yuki actress has a more cunning look to her but in the manga Sakurako is supposed to be have this cute innocent look so that no one suspects her initially.

Perhaps it's just the picture because I'm not familiar with the actress but Kwak Ji Min does have a hardness that I don't associate with Yuki.

I don't think anything been confirmed yet has it?

^ Yeah, Sakurako's supposed to be amazingly cute/innocent looking, which is one of the reasons why her betrayal and 'secret life' is so shocking in the first place. I actually really like the fact that they picked the nicer looking girl to be Sakurako because it stays true to the manga... In the j-drama version Sakurako looked sort of evil to me, which made me disappointed at first because it seemed so obvious that she would be evil... or is it just me? xD

Yuki's supposed to be pretty plain-Jane, sort of like Tsukushi- that's why I was one of the people who didn't mind Kwak Jimin being considered for Makino's role earlier on... I have to admit, I can't really see her as sweet, gullible Yuki because of her previous roles, but since she's a good actress, she'd most likely be able to pull it off... Still, I think they should choose someone a bit younger so they could avoid the age diff. w/ Kim Bum.

Hehe you're welcome... I'm also satisfied with the changes they made with Soujiro's character... It wouldn't have worked if they've left it as it is.

About Yuki, actually I saw someone upload a picture of Kim So Eun and one of the girl commenting says it is Yuki. However it might just be a rumour since NO official reports have been published. She actually looks okay as Yuki... really sweet looking... and she's the same age as Kim Bum.

If Kwak Ji Min is taking Yuki's role, it would be quite strange cause I know a lot of Korean netizens wanted her to be Makino. ^__^

kwak ji min i dont think will be participating in this one at all.. because in her cyworld some1 said " r u going to be in the drama.. " and she replied NO.

the casting has been DONE. its just stupid group 8 wont say it out... they are driving us crazy... but iknow for sure that some of the ppl know all the casts already but they are keeping quiet until group 8 released statement..

the last girls picture..

yuki's name is supposedly KA EUL.. meaning FALL in korean.. n the last girls ppl was also in the rumored list.. so its a high chance..

but the girl has more chance being in the drama than kwak ji min.

im just anticipating for who will be castd as jihoo/rui's grandfather.. since rui's role in this drama will be ALOT bigger than in previous dramas.. they are adding a grandfather role in it.. n his supposed to be a ex ______. or something..

I agree they should 'switch' however, sakurako is supposed to be sweet and innocent so in terms of staying true to the manga, I think the sweet innocent actress is a good choice, I would never guess how evil she is just by her looks. Kwak Ji min looks too cunning, and hard...something about her is a little off to be makino. Goo Hye sun may not be everybody's ideal Makino, but if she could pull off her 'fragile sweet look' and become a tough strong 'weed' she'll be fine.

No doubt, i'm looking forward to this drama..

I guess this drama will gain more popularity than those Japanase and Taiwan versions..

Yup, i agree, there must be a story about kim bum (just like in Japanese and Taiwan version). It will be quite boring if the story is focused only to Min Ho, Hye Sun, and Hyun Joong...

I'm glad this drama will be aired on KBS..So i hope i can watch it on KBS WORLD..

Oh btw, does someone have the promotional poster picture of this drama?

Really wanna see it..

If she is Yuki then it's OK.

I don't know why I don't like the face of Kwak Ji Min, so at first when I heard about her being Makino I felt bored. So when Goo Hye Sun got the role I felt released, I've just finished Choi Kang Chil Woo and Pure 19 so I think Goo Hye Sun is fine. By the way, I read somewhere that Goo Hye Sun got the highest vote from fan for the role Makino, I dont know why many people felt surprised when she got the role.

I also think that Lee Shi Young is fine to be Sakurako, but if Kwak Ji Min is casted for Yuki, I hope they switch the role.

Oh, I remembered that Kim So Eun was in Fly Daddy Fly 2006, here:

Her smile is so cute, if she's Yuki then It's Perfect. Hope that director chose her.
