Devine.Integrity Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Hmm...I was wondering how some members of youtube are able to upload ver clear videos and I searched on the net on how to do so and I couldnt really find an explanation. I also tried pming the users them selves yet they do no respond. Heres an example of HQ vids uploaded to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vas-MW_7vsQ [Credits to monmonsnow2]
awdark Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Im quite amused. It appears they uploaded it at youtube's native resolution. As in they didn't send them a video that was smaller than the video frame nor larger than the given video size (480 x 360 @855kbps). It was probably strategically converted (encoded) for the best possible quality. If darkviet comes in he can talk about ways the videos can be processed. I think its a 2 pass encoding and it was converted to a .FLV to be 20mb so it could be uploaded to youtube because youtube doesn't convert .FLV files to the youtube format because it was already in the correct format. I googled and this came up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UnQWdPhU8Y I wonder if they opted for that technique or a different one. Either way, they put in a much larger file for a short time because youtube still thinks the video is 8minutes long when in fact its like 3x shorter and they used the time for quality instead.
Guest the.user Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 There's also a tweak, if you add &fmt=18 or &fmt=6 to the end of the URL, it shows the higher quality version if there is one. It also changes the music to the original track if it was changed via other means. [edit] Misread the question. My bad. As for uploading, I wouldn't know ^^"
Devine.Integrity Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 AHHH! I completley forgot about this thread. But thanks awdark for the info you found. I tried doing it, but my computer is somehow super slow when converting. I like to download videos with my orbit player but it leaves it in flv format and the sony vegas system cant read .flv files. So its so much of a hassle to re-encode and encode a video with the sony system. Also I found out when I was opening the videos with sony Vegas, sometimes the pictures doesnt show just the sound. So does anyone who use Sony vegas have a solution?
tiki_sg Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Thanks for putting up this query, I was wondering how-to also.
Guest yunchikan Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 http://help.youtube.com/support/youtube/bi...amp;topic=10526 i guess following those info will help.. XD not sure tho.
Guest sushi_junkee Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I noticed that they make the actually time of the video longer, & i read on an HQ uploader's video that that's an HQ trick she uses. Idk if that's all that she does to make videos HQ on youtube, but i guess you can try :T
Devine.Integrity Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 ^Im guessing that youtube is banning all users who are peforming this trick such as the video I posted in the first post. Monmonsnows account was deleted cause she was founded out....but I dont really think that was the main reason why her account got deleted since I see her upload lots of Japanese and American Music Videos/Perfs...definitely something to avoid uploading.
