YG said that this new girl group would be different from all the current girl group, like how BB was different from all the other boy bands at the time of their debut. Yeah I remember reading YG saying something along those lines, so thats why everyone is calling them the girl/female BB.

my guess is that it's Bom cause she's trained at YG the longest out of the 4, and she's the oldest.

i just remembered that when their first dancing clip (the clip with 4 of them dancing to rihanna's song) came out on YT, everybody was calling them the girl version of big bang..

and then later on when YG announced the news, probably he said to think of the girls as female version of big bang.

still looking forward to them though.
