Guest kdramafanusa
So.. it's already in the bag, huh.. whoever they wanted to be in the series. It might be a while before they make an official announcement. If their original choices are not accepting the offers, then they will have to look for other suitable actor/actresses. Rubie, we can still guess who their choices could be. It's true that LYA & Kim Hee-seon 'have been resting for awhile'. Ko So-young too.

Felicia Soh
That's the one! The Miss 'K' I keep forgetting .. Kim So Yeon *thanks Felicia!*. After "All About Eve" KSY seems to be (endlessly) looking for that spark to give her that incredible performance again and I agree that Autumn Shower did nothing much for her. Didn't like the typical storyline either but yup, JRW really shines out in second-leading lady roles. It's really good that she's now getting her own major roles.. currently in a movie with LJJ. ^^ I would love to see LJJ with LBH, too (since LSJ can't make it).. that would be soooooo awesome but LJJ-ssi is back making movies these days .. and after Air City.. we might have to wait another 8 years for another series from him. Just kidding! Always my Mr Lee #2! You are most welcome, Rubie. Oh yeah, I’ve almost forgotten LJJ is your next best Lee after BH. LJJ seems to choose movies over dramas and I can’t imagine any other namjas good enough to partner LBH other than him and JDG! Perhaps, I have seen them act similar espionage roles too often in movies that we envisage them reviving such roles in the small screen. Maybe, I am being biased….hope whoever they choose, their team-up will be a perfect-partnership. Hi Felicia, thanks for your thoughts. Kim So-yeon will appear in upcoming SBS Monday/Tuesday drama "Gourmet" (starting June 16) with Kim Rae-won & Nam Sang-mi, it's adapted from the cartoonist Huh Young-man's popular comic books; the script is by Choi Wan-kyu as well. It's highly anticipated; it's also a big production (~10 billion Won). Lee Na-young is a personal favorite of mine, I love her in "Maundy Thursday", "Someone Special". Thanks kdramafanusa for the update news on KSY. Err….she’s playing 2nd lead in Gourmet? Hope she’ll bounce back soon…. just too bad her Chinese movie adventure did little to help her gain recognition. I don't mind LNY if LYA turn down the offer..... I'm not sure how Kim Hyun Joo and LBH pairing would be.. can't quite imagine it .. but I kinda like her again.. since "Insoon is Pretty". I am not very keen on Kim Hyun Joo partnering LBH…maybe, I am still hoping she’ll get another chance to team up with SJS (they had great chemistry in Glass Slippers) and interestingly, I would love to scan whether there’s still love-is-in-the-air kind of feeling between them – aah…I am so nosey! Is it just me that I find she doesn’t seemed to exude much lovey-dovey chemistry with her other leading men?
rubie
IRIS' male co-star speculation continues.. [ WB, LSJ, LJJ, ] How about Mr. Cha.. Cha In Pyo? He speaks good English and some Mandarin, too.. if I'm not mistaken. And he's also well known in China.. having been in collaboration drama series there. I think LBH and CIP get along quite well, too.. in the SBS 2003 Awards, they greeted each other in such good feeling. CIP won Best Actor for 'Perfect Love' while LBH awarded the Daesang for 'All In'. Guest ellabel
My dearie ellabel & rubie.. I am totally with you two for the 2 Lees, but unfortunately, Mr. Lee Seo Jin had already shared with his korean fans 3 weeks ago that he had rejected a script from All In scriptwriter, as he is too tired from filming the tedious drama Yisan, hence he is taking a long rest before embarking on his next drama. If Iris is delayed till maybe end of nt yr, the chance maybe better but not early part of the yr. Zombie dear, who wud know more about LSJ (and KJE) but you. I guess you are right. Starring in a period action drama can really be taxing. I understand that my other Lee will need more time to recharge and take care of other things (lovelife for example) Ok, then I'll go with my third Lee - Lee Jung jae... but i think he's already busy with a new movie. Besides, that wud be breaking his habit of doing drama every 9 years. Joke! Oh well.... i'll just have to wait more patiently for the co-stars of IRIS. I'll just have a headache thinking of all the Lee's and the leading ladies with L's and K's in their names, which we know in K-entertainment are numerous. I think i have to find a copy of Shiri to have a better perspective.

Ellabel dearie, seem like this is really script that LSJ had rejected as he had mentioned abt the drama offered to him will filming around 3/4 qtr of this yr. Hope his gf may pursuade him to change his mind. What a pity, as he had agreed to extend the YiSan drama, and missed the chance of collaborating with superb LBH. We will have to cross our fingers that LBH will select a well suited co-stars and supporting casts in his drama, otherwise, we will just have to deal with miscasts in the drama. Hope not....anxiety and agony attacks follows....

Zombie, you really dislike LSJ's drama "Yi San".... "Yi San" actually leads many dramas by a wide margin, its weekly rating is 2nd only to KBS daily drama "I Hate But It's Fine / Likable Or Not" (mostly in the 40's so most shows would be topped by it). Thanks kdramafanusa for the update news on KSY. Err….she’s playing 2nd lead in Gourmet?..... KSY was so good in "All About Eve" that I always picture her as a villain. Hehee. As for KHJ, she's pretty closed to SJS in real life. Star special - 1 hour documentary film about So Ji Sub, aired on January 20, 2004 Manager 2 : Who are your close celebrities ? Jisub : As I always answer, Seungheon(SSH), Sangwoo(KSW), Yongha(PYH), only woman Kim Hyun Joo. I answer clearly. Please don't make any more scandal with her. Seungheon is who I always feel thanks from my heart, Sangwoo is never changing guy before or after becoming famous, Yongha is who stayed beside me at my hard time, and Kim Hyunjoo is same age with me, just feel comfortable with her. Editor : (among you, SSH and KSW) Who is king of body? Jisub : King of body is Sangwoo, king of face is Seungheon. I can't compete with them. Sangwoo's body is really great, Seunghun is really handsome when I look at him near him. But the funniest guy is Seungheon. People don't know it. credit: saturn of soompi

YS didn't turn out to be LSJ best work nor PD LBH best production. LSJ did shared with his k/fans that he didn't enjoyed doing long period drama, and he will not do it again. King JJ human side character he played doesn't make him looked good either to viewers. LSJ should have been firm abt not extending the YS drama, and perhaps he will have this great chance of co-starring with LBH, I think IRIS will be a greater hit than YS overseas. LBH have this x factor blessings... when come to dramas, is always a hit, it helps too for those who co-stars with him. Those lucky chosen ones. Wonder who now? Guest White Star
There are a couple of Female leads i want to pair with LBH....(so sad that a lot of them are already busy for this year) a few are: CJW - It would be a miracle if they ever pair again since they already did a drama, a movie, a CF, AND an ad together....not to mention countless fan meetings and photoshoot....But wouldn't it be amazing if the 2 get back together again Ha Ji Won - This would be a GREAT pair...i could see the chemistry already...So sad she already have two movies project to keep her busy Jung Ryeo Won - It's would be an interesting pair for me...But I believe Ryeo Won is such a versatile actress that she could pretty much pull any role off. Again...she already have a Movie w/ Lee Jung Jae and a Drama with So Ji Sub Ko Hyun Jung - super talented actress also a rating magnet. She however is pairing up with Kwon Sang Woo this year. Choi Jin Sil - A lovable actress...i think she can be very compatible w. LBH. But she just finished Last Scandal, so I don't know if she's up for another drama Son Ye Jin - Not my first choice to pair with LBH...but she is a solid actress. Her drama Spotlight w/ JJH is coming out soon though Lee Na Young - She just finished filming a Japanese movie i think. I love LNY in movies (ALL of her movies are super great)...I'm still questioning whether my feeling would be the same about her drama. Kong Hyo Jin - is another good choice. She might not be as popular as others actress but she made her character so appealing to the audience no matter what role she's playing Lee Young Ae - Is SUCH a talented actress....i would love to see her comeback on screen, however, my guts questioned the potential chemistry between them Kim Hung Eun - I love her is Lovers....such a beautiful woman. (not that i would affect her acting, but she's already taken though) Ko So Young - is another good choice. But she kinda disappoint me with her recent drama. Song Yoon Ah - I LOVE her in On-Air. I think she would be the right actress for the part. whoa...i just notice i mentioned a lot of possibilities...however, i crossed out a lot too.... +WS+

I remember some huge Naeuri fans stopped following "Yi San" too. In terms of viewership ratings in Korea, YS is much higher than all of LSJ's previous series; the power of PD Lee + our Naeuri in Sageuk? His 2nd highest rated drama was "Bul Sae" which averaged more than 25%. "Damo" is next (its impact is the biggest of the 4); "Lovers" is the lowest of the 4 dramas. As for YS's extension, LSJ might have a lot of trust in PD Lee? I'm not sure... Zombie, you'll know more than me for sure on LSJ's news. I always wonder how the veteran actors like Choi Soo-jong & Yoo Dong-geun can handle historical dramas over 100 episodes; they're just amazing. Hopefully, IRIS will turn out great!!! Guest Janie Simply
http://contents.innolife.net/news/list.php...amp;ai_id=83641 According to this news article by innolife there will be 2 heroines besides LBH, by which a Korean top actress is given on a strong ticket, and a very splendid cast is scheduled by other 15 supporting actors. The "nomination" list keeps rolling in; just hope that some will at least land on the supporting roles
rubie
May 4, 2008 Movie Theater Attendance Heads for Downturn By Jane Han Staff Reporter The Los Angeles Times reported last week that movie theater attendances in the U.S. goes up during an economic slowdown, as more people spend money on the relatively low-cost entertainment. Here, however, the film industry doesn't seem to enjoy the same trend. "It's actually the opposite," said Lim Ki-tae of the Korea Film Council, a local film promoting body, as he reflected back on 2003, when the country slipped into recession. "The movie industry also experienced a slowdown." Council data showed that the film industry's growth rate dipped from 20.8 percent in 2002 to 13.3 percent in 2003. The number of annual moviegoers also slipped about 5 percent nationwide. The negative growth is now repeating itself, as the domestic economy enters another slump. A March report released by CJ CGV, the largest local multiplex chain, indicated that February's movie attendance hit a record low of approximately 13.2 million, since the previous slump to 9.73 million in 2003. The drop continued in the following month, as CGV's April report showed that the total number of moviegoers in March plunged another 23 percent compared to February. "There's been a myth that movie sales grow strong through economic woes, but actual figures tell us differently," said Lim, adding that Koreans may not be turning to indoor entertainment as much as Americans do. The U.S. daily said Americans' theater attendance increased during three of the last four recessions, adding that Hollywood is expecting another boom this year. One reason why the two markets may be dissimilar is the difference in age groups of the moviegoers. While ages 40-59 take up the biggest percentage (32 percent) of theatergoers in the U.S., according to the Motion Picture Association of America's 2007 data, early 20s take up the largest chunk here. "The money squeeze and tougher job market affects younger people more than the older, which forces them to focus on their living," said Lim. Another obvious reason behind the sluggish market is mediocre quality. There's hasn't been an eye-opener up to par with the impressive past releases of "Shiri" and "King and the Clown,' says experts. "Regardless of the economic trend and any other external factor, if the movie is worth it, viewers will spend the money," said film critic Lisa Kim. Guest kdramafanusa
Some predicted that this guy, Jung Jun Ho fr Last Scandal might be the other actor The chance of JJH being cast in IRIS is extremely low. He will start shooting movie "Gay Project 게이 프로젝트" after his wedding (July 2nd).

rubie
Still no news on the casts? I really doubt this drama will start filming on schedule. Could be.. in June or latest July when we'd probably hear something about the rest of the cast. Even LBH is still busy with his current movie project and then.. he'll have an extensive GBW promo come July. So.. it might not start straightaway in July as speculated but who knows the real deal. The cast can be announced all at once.. the 2 leading ladies plus another male lead if the production have already decided. They might want to wait for BH to return to Korea before presenting the IRIS line-up. Not just mere press releases.. but the press conference there and then. Well.. just rambling thoughts here. Hopefully the final cast will be cool credible actors whom most will agree with.
