ok, to explain the ending... i'm pretty sure i got it...

the real old man (No Shik) won the bet. Hee Do (in the body of the old man) bet his memories in the last 'game' and lost.

so the operation went ahead, with Hee Do losing his memories and No Shik gaining them... and the girlfriend ending up with a fake boyfriend.

however in the end, it's not just Hee Do who loses... No Shik lost someone who was related to him by blood in the process.

Hee Do was actually related to him.

i hope that made sense.
