I know the writer is trying to make us sympathise with the brother and his love for SH but I can't see him as nothing less than a 3rd wheel shadow who secretly likes to take what ever his brother's has. Am I the only one who see him as a back-stabbing drip??? He watches SH & JB naturally close relationship and knows there is chemistry between them yet he continues to move forward (in such a stealthy back doorish way I might add) with no regards except for himself.

I'm harsh because on the surface he appears to be a clean cut loving and endearing brother which makes me even more leary of him. His mask is too protective and does not allow others to see his true nature.

Agree with you, gerryg. I feel somewhat disappointed to see that, DH's affection came too soon, and seemingly too out of character to let me like him anymore. As a sophisticated and successful businessman, and a responsible brother for over 40 years, how could DH suddenly show off his feeling and even put up the sleeves to grab his little brother's love?

This is utterly out of common sense and reasonable logic that a normal person can take. ... Unless the scriptwriter and director give me some satisfactory reasons for DH's behavior next week, I am concerned and may give up chasing this drama...

What a pity!

I hope the scriptwriter is plotting something unexpected. Otherwise, I cannot take this anymore...

No, these are not rating for Ep. 10. They are rating for the rerun of Ep. 7 and 8. Actually they are very high in term of rerun.

I am sure Ep. 10 will have another record breaking rating.

There isn't much translation going on for this series so I am completely at the mercy of situational setting, body language and a few recognisable Korean words. So here's my question:

Is the brother concern about his JB or his top-star?

When I see him lurking in the background such as this pictures I think he is only concern about himself and how he can get what ever he set as his target.

If he was concern about his brother he wouldn't be trying to take the woman his brother is obviously interested in. Moreover, what about the son. Did he take his son for the sake of JB's career or his career? Would JB have sacrifice his son (if it is his son) for his career???? I hope the son somehow belongs to the brother so he can regret missing out on being a real dad for the past 14 years.

gerryg I hope this info helps you a bit. JB"s brother does care about JB. At the restaurant when SH and the brother were drinking, he does ask SH to be good to JB. Eventough JB seems like he is out a lot, it is only for work and nothing else. The brother blames himself that he made JB this way. He wouldn't let him LOVE or drink with his friends to prevent scandals from happening. He asks SH if he can be his friend. He will block LOVE but he doesn't want to block a friendship and SH agrees she will do this for him.

As for ending, JB asks the brother what are you doing, the brother replies "why?......I can't like that woman. I told you before I can but you can't"

Well this line is a reinforcement of the line JB's brother used after the scandal at the hotel. He tells JB that he should not start, even if his intentions are to help ajumma if he can't take full responsibility. The brother also stressed he hired her and if there is problem he will be the one to help. He himself can but as Song Jae Bin he can't. (because he is a star and a public figure)

I think the brother does like SH. However he is also a business man so he can't let his star go down in flames with a scandal. In reality, JB is the one paying for all their salaries. Hence the line he will stop JB from loving but he won't stop him from friendship. I think the brother, as long as SH and JB are friends is all for it but as for anything more I think he will try to stop them.

As I am concerned about the same question and don't want to let this loving character dies in my heart, I watched the episode again, twice! One possible logic explaination of DH's behavior in Ep. 10 is like this,

He forsees JB as the top star could not date SH the ajuma and eventually both JB and SH would get hurt. To protect both JB/DC - his brother, and SH - the first woman he has ever fallen for, he tells his brother: remeber, what I can do, you cannot!

He did this kind of protective act before with NY, when NY preganent with JB's son and wanted to abort, DH stepped in and pretended to be the father of the son, which saved JB's career. Of course, JB didn't know and misunderstood NY to be his brother's woman, and DH has since hated and shut himself off from women.

Still, if this time is with this protective intention again, DH could behave more like what DH should do, restrained, rational and decisive... unlike what we saw in Episode 10, foolish, to say the least.

Whether this is a trick the scripwriter is playing on us audience, or a mistake she is making that turns a well-packed fairy tale into a rotten clich, let's wait and see next weekend...

I am going to believe in your explanation above. It will make me sleep better at night until the next episode airs.

DH has no ill intentions and that he is thinking of JB and SH. He doesn't want any more tears and heartache for SH. As for JB he wants to spare him the pain he will endure when he has to choose between career and SH. His deception about his age and the fact that he is involved with a divorced woman with a child.

IF NY goes public to spite JB about the son then it will be too unbearable. Are you 100% sure that the son is JB's? I thought we were still speculating. I was hoping that it really wasn't JB's. Yikes, maybe I won't be able to sleep peacefully. Okay deep breath. IT is only a drama. Life will go on.
