It mentions that the filming of EOE has started in Korea and the crew including SSH and PHJ is preparing to go to Macao in June for outdoor shooting. It seems that EOE which was originally planned to debut in August will be pushed further back to November because of script problem. There are plans to go to Taiwan for filming as the crew has approached a local TV station for assistance. Park Hae Jin's managing company has confirmed that he would be in Macao in June for 2 weeks before he flies back to Korea again afterwhich he would go to Japan.

Filming actually started a while ago with actor Lee Jong-won, actress Lee Mi-sook, and the child stars including Kim Bum, etc. I saw some pictures of the shootings. It's just SSH & the later generation who just started.

As for the premiere day, I read about it being in October before. According to the schedule posted at DC recently, EOD will start in August. Quoting Njs's posting in SH thread, hope it's okay.

SH's manager mentioned about EOE airing in August. and this week, Park Seong Woong when interviewed in Japan,

mentioned he is casting in EOE which will be aired in early part of August. it probably will still clash with the Olympics.

We'll have to wait & see how things go.

I visited Naju Image Park (filming site of Capital Scandal and Seoul 1945) sometime at the end of April.

Apparently, they were still setting up/building part of the the set of East of Eden.

The banner of the drama was also up.

50부작 MBC 특별기획 드라마 '에덴의 동쪽'은 1960년부터 2000년대에 이르는 시대극으로 250억의 제작비가 투입된 대작. 으로, 한 날 한 시에 같은 병원에서 태어난 두 남자의 엇갈린 운명과 복수에 관한 이야기를 다룬다. '달동네', '보통사람들'의 나연숙 작가가 극본을, '아일랜드', '진짜 진짜 좋아해'의 김진만PD가 연출을 맡았다.

이다해는 성공에 대한 야심으로 가득 찬 주요언론사의 후계자인 여주인공 '혜린' 역을 맡아 동철(송승헌 분)과 동욱(연정훈 분)의 사이에서 야심마저 흔들어버리는 열정적인 사랑의 여주인공으로 분한다.

10여년 만에 작품을 선보이는 나연숙 작가는 이번 여주인공 캐스팅에 특히 심혈을 기울인 것으로 알려졌으며, 이 역에는 대한민국의 수많은 여배우가 거론된 끝에 출중한 연기력을 바탕으로 출연 작품마다 높은 시청률을 이끌어냈던 이다해가 최종 낙점됐다.

아역들을 중심으로 이미 촬영에 돌입한 '에덴의 동쪽' 제작진은 "극의 중심축을 이루는 여주인공 '혜린' 역할을 캐스팅하기 위해 최근까지 전전긍긍했다"며 "결국 최적의 여주인공을 캐스팅하게 돼 만족스럽다"고 입을 모았다.

I, personally believe her forte is drama too. I think MY GIRL though charming and funny is just a one-strike deal, she cannot repeat that magic again. She has a lot of emotional depth that has to be knocked over. Cute roles kind of overshadowed that.

I'm very excited that she's working in such a big production and with SSH, no less.
