I'm still confused over the casting though...so far only Yoo Dong Geun and SSH have been confirmed,right?

Am I right to assume that the drama is probably still looking for an 'older' male lead. We know Yoo Dong Geun will play as one of the 2 men who were born on the same day at the same hospital. Since Park Shin Yang is not yet confirmed...that would mean they are still looking for another main lead roughly Yoo Dong Geun or PSY's age,right? If we assume PSY has agreed that means the two main leads are PSY and YDG...correct?

I'm trying to read between the lines here...Song Seung Hoon will not be the 'main lead' then. Instead he will play a casino businessman by the name of Lee Dong Cheol. He will probbaly still play a vital role since it is a 50 episode drama anyway so they can have a lot of air time for a 'supporting' actor. I'm putting them in quotes since the initial storyline seem to focus on the main leads (presumably YDG and PSY).

Now they are still looking for an actor for the role of Lee Dong Wook (a prosecutor). The people currently in the running for this roles are Yoon Jeong Hoon and Hyun Bin. Only one of them will actually get the role.

So far there's a lot of big names being thrown up... in all seriousness though..is this even possible? I mean I know the budget is quite big....but if they get all the actors that they want how much would they have to pay in salaries?

I hope they decide on a list of cast soon since shooting will start very soon.

o-cha & kdramafanusa & mandalaywith .. thanks for all the news.. please continue to let us know if there are new developments.. hehe.. and yea.. as much as i want to see my SSH in every screen shot, every scene in the 50 eps.. i know that is not possible.. hmm.. but as he is one of the main reason i'm excited about this drama.. * and MBC is grabbing him to maybe sell this series overseas- japan.. definitely*- I hope they will give him a HUGE role.. I know that the storyline is important.. but i'm just saying this as part of the bimbo club- give us plenty of hotties so we can sit through 50 episodes * hahahha*

If there is no change in casting.. and as long as song seung hun is still in this drama.. there's a 95% chance that WITH S2 will tackle this drama.. sigh.. we promised ourselves that after golden bride.. we won't sub another long drama.. but what can we do when song seung hun is in it? this man has that much power over us.. * hahaha.. well.. fine.. over me*... lol.. so they better keep him and give him one juicy role!!

This is what I'm thinking right now.

I think that there should 2 persons for each of the 2 lead roles. Older actors takes over the younger ones places after 20yrs or so unless the production team is going to give the younger ones a make over to look old since it's going to be over 40yrs span.

Could it be like? Younger ver. of Lee Dong Wook ( Song Seung Hun) ---> Older ver. (Park Shin Young)

i dun think park shin yang is going to be in this drama neither is hyun bin who already announced he wasnt in the project last year . but SSH is confirmed .at least by his agency company ..

HOWEVER . this is about two men born on the same day in the same hospital er .. Yoo Dong Geun is one of the men .then .i dun think SSH will be the other .because the age dun match . but then YDG ..he is a major draw actually it werid if he only comes in later ....hm so .i dun know .unless YDG plays another major character ..and leaving the two male lead to the younger generation .

I don't think LDW can still accept this since he's busy filming his upcoming drama right now. In fact, he's in Japan doing this drama. I hope so, too that BIN will be casted here but is he willing to play as the 2nd role because SSH is the male lead here. (am I correct here or I stand corrected) Looking forward to this drama because of SSH.

Since TV drama <Summer Scent> in 2003, he took a temporary break to fulfill his military duty. He will return with new drama <East Of Eden> after a long absence.

Discharged in November 2006, he returns in movie <Destiny> with Kwon Sang Woo. Song Seung Hun will then play the leading role in TV drama <East Of Eden> which will air after popular period drama <Yi San>.

50-episode TV drama <East Of Eden> is a work that depicts the fate and revenge of 2 men who are born in the same hospital at the same time. The investment totals 25 billion Won. The (4.5 billion Won) set is being built at Kyungnam Sagawa television theme park. Planned filming locations include China, Hong Kong, Macao, and so on.

Song Seung Hun will collaborate with actor Yoo Dong Geun. The leading actress is not confirmed yet.

Before returning to the small screen, he will meet fans first in movie <Destiny> which co-stars Kwon Sang Woo. <Destiny>, opening on the 20th of next month, depicts a story of friends who turn into enemies.

Song Seung Hun will play Lee Dong Chul in big MBC drama <East Of Eden> (25 billion won) which will start airing at the end of June. This is his first TV drama since <Summer Scent> from five years ago.

Having to choose from many works, I felt distressed. I have never tried the role of this work before, therefore, I feel that it is quite attractive.

I am hoping that Han Ye Seul will be casted as the leading lady and Hyun Bin as the leading guy, but I don't think we will see HB as the lead cuz SSH got the lead instead. SSH is a great actor, don't get me wrong, but I was looking forward to see our Hyunseul couple instead.

Count me in with you, too. I've been wanting to see him in another drama. It's been an ages since SS & he was released from the army for a little while now. But is he still not confirmed yet to be one of the cast here?
