'The Glory' Koreans' favorite 2nd place, meaning

Netflix's <The Glory> ranks second in Koreans' favorite program, continuing its glory both inside and outside the work.

On the 25th, Gallup Korea announced the results of a survey on 'Koreans' Favorite Program'. In this survey of 1,000 people over the age of 18 nationwide, TV Chosun's <Mr. Trot 2 - The Beginning of a New Legend> (hereinafter referred to as Mr. Respondents who said they enjoyed watching the program the most accounted for 8.5%. Male respondents in their 60s and older, and female respondents in their 50s and 60s answered that they enjoy watching <Mister Trot 2> the most.

The second place was occupied by the Netflix original drama <The Glory>. 8.0% of respondents chose the work as their favorite program, showing a slight difference compared to the first place. Dramas were loved by all age groups, but were especially loved by people in their 20s to 40s.

<The Glory>, which released Part 1 on the 30th of last month, is scheduled to release Part 2, which corresponds to the second half of Part 8, on March 10th. The story of Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo), a victim whose soul was ruined by school violence (school violence) as a child, meticulously prepared for revenge by risking her whole life, and the perpetrators, including Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon) and Jae-joon (Park Sung-hoon), who fall into the vortex. It drew attention with the meeting between Song Hye-kyo and star writer Kim Eun-sook.

The fact that <The Glory> was selected as Gallup's 'Favorite TV Program' has a great meaning both inside and outside the work. Gallup has been conducting the same survey every month since January 2013, but this is the first time that OTT works have been included. Regarding this, Gallup said, “In recent years, the influence of OTT has rapidly expanded, and the boundaries between platforms such as traditional TV programs and web content are collapsing. Actively reflecting these changes in viewing patterns, starting this year, we have expanded the scope to content that can be viewed not only through existing broadcasting channels but also through OTT.”

In the first survey, which included OTT original works, <The Glory> proudly took second place, proving that OTT is not satisfied with its role as a distributor of content, but can play the role of a producer who can create novel stories. Showed. Unlike existing TV broadcasting, considering that it is not a content exposed to an unspecified number of people of all ages, but a service that is used by a specific age range from 20s to 40s after paying a subscription fee, <The Glory>'s topicality and ripple power are calculated in numbers. It is analyzed that it will be much higher than 8.0%. Furthermore, with the release of Part 2 in March, where the full-scale story will unfold, the craze for <The Glory> is not expected to cool down.
