Song Hye-kyo revealed as real estate mogul

Hallyu star Song Hye-kyo was titled the “queen of real estate” on tvN’s “The List 2016” on Monday.

In the latest episode, Song Hye-kyo ranked No. 9 out of all Korean celebrities investing in land and housing abroad.

Reportedly, Song purchased a home in New York during the filming of American film “Make Yourself at Home” in 2008. Her New York pad is at The Sheffield, which has often been referred to as the “house of CEOs” in the center of Manhattan.

The luxury condo was purchased at a price of $1.7 million, but is now valued at $2.8 million. But that’s just one of the star’s properties, as she also owns an 8.5 billion won ($7.35 million) mansion and 9 billion won villa, among others.

The best drama so far this year has to be "Descendants of the Sun". Not only did it cause a syndrome in Korea, but in China as well, and dramas that were released after "Descendants of the Sun" have also been on the upturn.

KBS wasn't doing so well before "Descendants of the Sun" came along. Koo Hye-seon and Ahn Jae-hyeon's "Blood", "Who Are You - School 2015", "Remember You", "The Eccentric Daughter-in-Law", "Cheeky Go Go", "Oh My Venus" and "Moorim School" stayed on one-digit records. They didn't do too well.

Song Joong Ki, 30, was reunited with his former on-screen lover, Song Hye Kyo, 34, at the former's Chengdu fan meeting on June 17, Friday in China. Despite Hye Kyo's busy schedule, the actress made sure to find time to join Joong Ki, as he completed another date on his Asian fan meeting tour.

Joong Ki recently visited Chengdu, China, wherein he held the eight fan meeting of his Asian fan meeting tour on June 17, Friday. Hye Kyo made a surprise grand entrance and introduced herself in Chinese. She donned a basic white shirt paired with denim skirts.
"I had a sense of Song Joong Ki's popularity through the internet and news articles," she added. "But actually coming here and seeing this for myself makes me feel happier and more nervous than him."
Much to the fan's excitement and big cheers, the actor responded by saying how beautiful the actress is and stressed about how thankful he is that Hye Kyo has come all the way from South Korea to make the fan meeting something special, All K-pop has learned. Both stars' undeniable chemistry and stage presence made the local fans go crazy, particularly when Joong Ki discussed that he was so excited to see Hye Kyo, as he laid his head on her shoulder.
Both stars looked exceptionally comfortable and seemed very happy with each other in front of thousands of audiences, as they get a little playful hosting mini-talk shows, playing several mini-games and looking affectionately into each other's eyes, and more. They also had fun playing a monopoly game, in which they tossed a dice and recreated a scene from "Descendants of the Sun."
The so-called Song-Song couple then performed an adorable duet together. They performed the duet version of "Descendants of the Sun's" OST titled "Always." Later on, Hye Kyo then complimented the actor, as she opened up her first impression of him.
"I was greatly looking forward to meeting him because a lot of people told me that Song Joong Ki is very nice," Hye Kyo revealed, as quoted by Soompi. "And of course, he didn't let down my high expectations. He was even better than the image I had in mind. During the shoot, I realized that he is a very sincere person. He is a cool friend."
Meanwhile, Joong KI's next fan meeting event is scheduled in Taipei, Taiwan on June 25. Check out the video below:

And ain't she just adorable we kinda had a glimpse of her adorableness in the DotS bts (and in her other drama bts come to think of it), but seeing more of it is always a treat

There will bound to be some salty comments, especially for someone as beautiful as Kyo.  I try to ignore most of them (I know, it's easier said than done, lol).  I would think of how it was in 2014 and I truly feel thankful and grateful for how everything is now.  Kyo looks so happy and content these days and as her fans, that's all we want for her.  I could care less about what others say or think as long as she's happy

Hello everyone!  

It's been a while since I made a post of just my thoughts on Kyo and recent happenings. I finally have some time today so I hope you don't mind. I'll hide it since I tend to write long posts. In any case, let's stay positive. SHK looked so happy in the recent Chengdu FM when she went as SJK's guest. Waiting to hear about any news in terms of future projects/appearances. But other than that, I'm happy she seems to be in a good place in her life right now.

So much has happened for SHK within this past year or so. And there has been so much news about her for various reasons within just the past few months. As a fan, I really love hearing about her, reading about her, and seeing all this activity around her because it's not very often that this happens. Fans who have followed her for a long time are always so grateful for any news and don't take anything for granted. What makes me even happier is that she is getting so much love right now. Not just from her steady fans, but from a lot of new fans too. It's amazing for a celebrity/actress who has been in the industry for so long to continuously become a trend over and over again. 

But, as so many people here have already pointed out, along with so much love and attention, there will always be some negativity that piggy backs along for a ride. To be honest, it is frustrating to see hateful comments about Kyo here or elsewhere. And I also want to constantly post and argue back. But I want to suggest just taking a step back and thinking before reacting first and regretting later. It's unfortunate that it's always the hateful, ugly comments that people always cling to and constantly highlight. It's unfortunate that there is so much optimism and love, but people focus on the minor negatives. I wish people would realize that by focusing, re-sharing, and reacting to that hate, it only helps to spread it. Of course, when something needs to be said, it should be. But most of the negativity is so trivial, it really doesn't even deserve recognition. There's a reason why we ignore trolls. But I've also realized that unfortunately, not all negativity comes from just random trolls. Just know that there is definitely more love than hate. And that giving out positive energy will come back to you in turn. 

I feel grateful to Kyo's thread because I have come to know wonderful members and have read beautiful posts about SHK and fan's love for her.  It really just confirms to me how great her fandom is. I sometimes feel like some fans (maybe newer ones?) worry for her more when they see comments here and there. And not to say that your concern is misplaced, because as fans we all want what's best for Kyo, but I just want to reassure these fans that SHK is so strong. She might be small, but she is so strong. She has gone through so much and weathered it all, all the while staying true to who she is and what she believes in. She surrounds herself with people she loves and trusts. She speaks her mind when the time calls for it. She will bear the brunt of the media, but won't let the media dictate how to run her life. She's endured jealous fans. She's seen the highs and the lows, and knows not to take anything for granted. And it's because her fans come in all ages and have followed her for the length of her long career that we are protective but not unbearable, for her sake. We follow her for who she is, not just based on drama personas or looks. And also, because of all these reasons, we just want her to be happy. And as she likewise loves her fans, I'm sure she would want the same for us. 

Trust me, I know it's sometimes hard to do what I preach. lol. And it's so much easier to give into frustration and bitterness. And I actually think people are perfectly valid in these feelings. But I know so many of us already try not to get dragged down by the hate and try not to react with more open anger/frustration on the threads. Let's keep working hard to follow Kyo's example and become stronger together by trying to stay positive.

That was beautiful @smiletall. As always.  I haven't been active in this thread for quite some time, adult life keeps on bothering me and letting me face reality. I don't have any idea about the negativities and hatred being spewed by other people and some "fans". Let's not dwell on this since we all know how happy Kyo eonnie has been lately. I agree with @hclover96, whenever I see bad comments about Kyo especially on Instagram, I always think about the year 2014, and how hard it was for her and for us, fans. Whatever "hatred" she's experiencing now, is incomparable with what happened in 2014. Kyo eonnie is obviously very happy and that's what matters, everything else is irrelevant.

Just wanted to quickly post that there is news that the organisers for SJK's Taipei Fan-meeting are seriously pursuing Kyo as the special guest. I've got my fingers and toes crossed hoping this is true, mainly because I love seeing Kyo look so happy on stage.

@utkim It's looking pretty positive because Taiwan just started airing DOTS so it makes logical sense to have her invited to *promote* the drama. I was also reading news article in Korea that apparently there is news of a special tourism package called the "SongSongSong package" (basically SS+Songdo-Incheon) and the Incheon Tourism Organisation has been trying to get Taiwanese tourists.

And the news report from Taiwan mentioning that they won't reveal who the guest is until the day of the fan-meeting and how they've asked fans not to come to the airport. Seems like they're building up excitement for the 25th, so let's just hope! We didn't fully think that she would go to Chengdu until she was actually seen at the Chengdu airport. It might be the same for Taipei.
