The photography director of DotS was on KBS' "godtv" on April 18 and he talked about Kyo.  Here is the translation (cr to SHK's weibo fan account for the Chinese translations ):

In the program, he talked about the scene where the car was hanging from the edge of the cliff and fell into the water.  "Because it's a drama, they survived.  If it's real, of course they will die."  He also mentioned the filming for the earthquake part, "there was a lot of glass, so there were a lot of minor injuries."

The host asked the director if SHK has any special requests for the camera when filming, he replied, "did not expect it to come out so beautiful, like a CF.  She asked me to emphasize on the acting when filming, she wants the acting to win the audience (meaning she wants the audience to notice her acting more than her beauty).  He also mentioned that Kyo specifically asked him to focus on the 'eye staring' scenes, a great passion for acting.

Regarding some unnatural CG pictures, he said "usually actresses are very focused on the beauty of the picture, would specifically asked to make it beautiful, but SHK did not care even when her face was full of dirt, would even smeared her own face.  She said the earthquake scene would come out even more beautiful this way."

The director also said when filming SHK's crying scenes, he would cry himself, the staff would be sad with her together.  He explained, "the actor's feelings and the producer's feelings are in sync at times".  In addition, he recalled that at the filming set, SHK is the one with the most smiles.

@ewff i can totaly relate. me too, i feel like sometimes its better to stay as a lurker and continue loving kyo in silence. there are too many rules to digest and too many reactions to watch out for. I think what matters is that everyone should acknowledge that we are all here for our unni, SHK. we should be united... and more understanding of each other. no fan should think that their love for kyo is greater than others. i'm crying here as well. this might be the end of my venture too in this thread. :-((((((((( now, back to my cave..

As been mention by moderators, this thread is for SHK as an actress, and as I remember everybody here really adore SHK and many has post positive news or sharing their adoration for SHK. 

I don't know who has been staying for so long in this thread, just maybe I remember that @utkim is kind a active in this thread and I believe  moderators also monitoring this thread. I'm really hoping that we can keep the peace in here. And please don't accuse anybody without proof as TROLLS, HATERS, ANTIS of SHK. Tbh I'm feel so annoyed when there's some member who accuse of other member or posting something negative about others. Really hope this thread is not that kind of thread. And we will keep supporting Song Hye Kyo to get many LOVE with every projects she done. I agree. I dont visit other threads other than SHK thread,  reason Im clueless on the issue. 

It would be much safer not to read other comments from those thread  ( no idea which thread actually)

The director of photography for the hit drama “Descendants of the Sun,” Kim Si Hyung, has shared a behind-the-scenes story about the crew’s reaction tothe dating rumors between the show’s two leads.

Kim Si Hyung appeared on April 18’s online live broadcast of “Got TV” on KBS’s YouTube channel. During the show, he says, “We didn’t believe the dating rumors about Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki.”

When asked what Song Joong Ki usually calls Song Hye Kyo, he replies, “Sometimes he calls her sunbae, and sometimes he calls her noona.”

Kim Si Hyung says, “The two of them are close friends, but they’re more like work colleagues than girlfriend and boyfriend.” He then adds, “When the rumors started spreading, I didn’t believe them one bit. Of course they might do things that make it appear that way, but the staff all knew that it wasn’t true.”

everytime there will be news/article about praises and appreciation of SHK based on interviews and standpoint of her co-stars and production team I would feel so proud to be her fan and admire her more on how much she loves her craft. thanks twtwb and hclover96 for sharing that interview with the photography director and yes it reflects how much she work hard to make her acting stands out instead of her looks and how effective she is in carrying out every scene and its very true that when she smiles the viewers would smile with her too and when she cries the viewers will be move also in shedding tears just by watching her in sad moments.

"SHK is the one with the most smiles in the filming set " love to hear this, definitely she had a wonderful time filming DoTs and she exudes a very positive aura that illuminates brightly on DoTs set that her co-stars and production team can attest to this!

watching SHKs crying scenes , everyone will be move that even the PD and staff can relate to it!

I am so happy for her success in DOTS. She deserves it, she works hard and improves in her craft. Plus she is super pretty. SHG made me cry buckets on Episode 15 that was how good she was in this drama. Proud and happy for her.

Hey all! I've missed you guise! A big thank you to all for for updating and tending to this thread with care and love .   

There have been so many positive comments about SHG on Naver and even Nate. Although I won't be translating word for word, many of the top comments share our sentiment of wanting to see more of SHG on the small and  big screens. Amen to that, sistas!

C-netz and C-stars also can't get enough of SHG! I made a gif set of a short convo between Du Chen, a Chinese actor, and the host Jin Xing of the Jin Xing Talk Show on Shanghai Oriental TV. In the captions, I use the abbreviation DC for Du Chen and MJ for Jin Xing, or Miss Jin. 

TL;DR points of the convo:

1. DC wants to marry SHG (LOL). Get in line, mister.

2. Jin Xing offers to take DC to Korea next month because she has a drama project there. Apparently, Jin Xing's boss for this project is also SHG's boss.  Does DC have any hopes of catching a sight of SHG the ninja?

Background facts: 

1. The host, Jin Xing, is actually one of the few officially approved trans woman in China who is Korean by ethnicity. Her Korean name is Kim Song. She is sassy and to the point; you may think of her as your female and more tame RuPaul. 

2. The old guy sitting next to DC is his dad. Jin Xing asked if he knows who SHG is. He was like, "I have no idea". LOL. Also do you guys notice anything familiar? That grey sweater is the cardigan version of the Thom Browne sweater worn by YSJ in the first episode.

In the Actress, the fans and the Song Hye Kyo's thread

I started to like Song Hye Kyo in 2001 while watching "Autumn in my heart". It was her first Korean drama in a main role and it was my first Korean drama as a viewer. The impression was so deep. It was almost "love at first sight" because I came to like her very fast; but it was not really "love at first sight" because what I liked about her in the drama was not merely her appearance, but more importantly, her touching performance in the role of Eun Suh.

For a guy like me, it was rare, and is still rare, to have a character in a drama and an actress who did not only capture my eyes but also touched my heart. Just that, she naturally entered into my life as my favorite actress. Gradually, she also impressed me with her working ethics and personality from which I actually learned a lot. I'm a guy and I'm not younger than her. I'm not obsessed with her either because I still have my personal life and professional life to take care of. But she has earned me as a viewer, heart and mind and been in that position since then.

I started to know this thread in 2008 while watching "Worlds Within" (my favorite drama until today). The first time I saw the thread, I liked it. It was not only because people here love Song Hye Kyo. Equally important to me, it was the way that most of them showed their love to Song Hye Kyo and the way they interacted with each other. There were ups and downs. There were happy time and sad time. But most of the time, while people here were very dedicated and loyal, they were open minded and friendly. Sometimes they were understandably nervous and worried for Song Hye Kyo. Sometimes they were reasonably upset. But most of the time they were calm and respectful, even when they were having a debate.

As a guy, I must admit that I was not as patient and understanding as they were. By silently observing, I learned from them. They reminded me a lot of Song Hye Kyo. There are members of the thread who were active then and remain active now. Let me take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to them. I believe you know who you are and I hope to continue to see you here.

Due to a variety of reasons, including my studying and work commitments and the fact that I'm a guy who belong to the absolute minority here, I kept my status as a silent observer until I read the excerpts in Song Hye Kyo's book "Hye Kyo's Time", especially the chapter that I posted below. As it took me years to have my first post, I really appreciate those who decided to make an account to show support to Song Hye Kyo after years of silence and I think it is a pity if they turn again to their silent mode due to a misunderstanding either here or anywhere else.

To members who are thinking of turning again to silent mode: of course I would totally understand and respect your decision, I just want to let you know that as long as you still love Song Hye Kyo, you are always welcome to come back here. To new members: welcome to the thread, I hope to see you here as often as you can.

You may have seen me in some other threads (which are all related to Song Hye Kyo by the way), but this thread is where I consider a “virtual house”, a place to come back. When we live in a “house”, it is unavoidable that sometimes we disagree with each other. But as far as I observe, what remains unchanged in this “house” is that most people are respectful, understanding, nice and calm even when they are having a debate. I may be biased, but to me this is one of the most peaceful and friendly online threads that I have visited.

And regardless of the differences we have, there is at least one thing that we share in common: our love for Song Hye Kyo. I hope that this love will bring us all back together.
