Here's one article that I like and that made me feel for her. The content is pretty similar to the other ones posted previously, but I thought it was interesting that she thought at one point it might be her last drama. It just shows how much pressure she must have been feeling for this project to succeed, especially considering her recent hardships. And her wish to constantly improve on acting and challenge new roles is still so consistent. Really respect her for these aspects.

Song Hye Kyo: "I thought 'Descendants of the Sun' could be my last project...Just grateful."

"'Descendants of the Sun' is a drama I worked on in 3 years since 'That Winter the Wind Blows' in 2013.  In that time, there has been big and small issues, and as such, this project has meant that much more to me. At some point, I thought that this project could be my last and so worked really hard. Due to the positive result, I am happy but also a part of me is sorry."

SHK stated that "In just considering the results, 'Descendants of the Sun' was itself an opportunity, but also an opportunity for another/next project," expressing that "It's a project just to be grateful for."
From 'Autumn in My Heart' to 'Full House' she has gained popularity and has been promoting for a long time as a Hallyu star. "It's not just me. It's due to the work of many actors.  When one person's popularity goes down, another actor emerges, and then another, so it has been well-maintained." Saying "It's an honor and makes me happy to be considered Hallyu with other Korean actors," she expressed a humble side. 

She also recently went to Hong Kong with SJK to promote 'Descendants of the Sun.'

After filming completed in December, SHK watched the broadcast mostly at home and said "I was only able to read about the popularity, but when I went to Hong Kong, I realized just how amazing it was." Stating "The fact that an actor I acted with became a Hally star, I feel like a proud mom," she laughed brightly. 

After the drama ended and before the broadcast began, her meeting with SJK caused a scandal, to which SHK stated "It's true we had a meal together." She continued "People seem to consider it a bit differently because we met up in NY, but aside from SJK-ssi, I met a lot of other people."

While taking a break in NY, she received word from SJK who had come to NY. She said "He's a colleague with whom I worked on a project for 6 months. Just because of a fear of a scandal, it seemed laughable to say 'Let's not meet. Let's see each other in Korea'."  She continued, "There was also talk of a couple bracelet but it's just a hair-tie."

When asked about her personal goals as an actor, she revealed that it was "To improve from the previous project."

SHK said "I want to hear that my acting improved from the last project, that it became deeper." She continued "More than how big or how well I do, my goal is to continue improving myself from where I stand, and I believe good things will follow."

SHK stated that she wants to challenge diverse characters and genres, but she hasn't come across a good project yet. "I believe that there aren't enough projects with diverse genres or female characters  that allow actresses to show new and different sides to them." She continued, "To people making movies or dramas, I hope this will encourage them." and expressed her wishes.

Actress Song Hye-kyo: 'Descendants of the Sun' gave me a good opportunity

Broadcast simultaneously in South Korea and China, "Descendants of the Sun" became an instant hit in the two nations as well as other Asian countries. The 16-episode series concluded with a stunning 38.8 percent viewership in South Korea, which is extremely high for a weeknight drama. In China, the show has scored over 2 billion cumulative views on iQiyi, the video-streaming website that ran the series.

Song said, however, that she didn't fully comprehend the fever the show created in China until she visited Hong Kong with her male lead for a promotional tour early this month.

"In Hong Kong, I saw students in school uniforms follow a Korean star for the first time in years," she said. "My counterpart actor has become a new hallyu star, so I felt really great that he received so much love." Hallyu means the Asiawide popularity of Korean TV dramas, pop music and films.

Despite the show's success, she said there will be no drastic change in her career. "I don't think there will be a turn in my path of life because of this latest success," she said. "I will continue to read screenplays and choose to act in ones I like, as I usually do."

Song said one of her favorite moments in the show was when Yoo confessed his feelings for her by saying, "Should I apologize or confess my feelings?" "The scene really turned me on. I thought he acted very well and his voice is good," the actress said, adding that she enjoyed most of the show's episodes at home because it was a pre-produced drama. "I was not an actress but a woman engrossed in the drama at that very moment."

As for her title as an original hallyu star, she had the modesty to describe the phenomenon as the result of collective efforts by many Korean actors and actresses. "That's what Korean stars have achieved all together. I'm honored to be part of the phenomenon as an actress," she said.

She gained Asiawide fame for her roles in "Autumn in My Heart" (2000) and "Full House" (2004). Before "Descendants," Song mostly worked in the Chinese film industry with such giant filmmakers as John Woo and Wong Kar-wai.

Yeah, I think you're referring to the portion of the article that mentions how SJK reached out to meet with SHK. To be quite honest, I was wary about translating that portion of the article because I know how some strong shippers might react. I do ship them secretly (or I guess not so secretly lol), but I also don't want to add to more excessive speculation or over-reaction for their sake. However, I'm pretty certain I translated correctly. But also, that portion of the report was what the reporter wrote and not a direct quote from SHK, so readers can take from it what they will I suppose. In any case, I seriously doubt that they or their staff literally just bumped into each other coincidentally in NY. Most likely, SJK may have been in NY or knew he would be going, and had heard that she likewise happened to be there on vacation and reached out. Whether there was more meaning in that action or not, who knows. lol. But I do respect SHK for straight up just answering those questions. She could have just as easily chosen to not answer them. But more telling to me, she makes it obvious that she is aware of what rumors and speculations are being thrown around by fans, so it also makes me wonder just how wary she is of them too.

I'm trying not being overacting  nor over analyzing, trying to stay calm and not being bias and not being delulu here.. sure enough i believe she is aware of the speculations and rumors...but having been a long time fan of her and knowing how straightforward she is as a person and if she doesn't like one, she can be quite bluntly denying, that's how i think she is....and she could really make a stop for the rumors in her interview honestly, i dun think the reporter could just write like that either...i dun know what to say..this doesn't look like our usual Kyo if they are just noona/donseng relationship, 1 thing is for sure kyo and JK are close .... I didn't plan to ship her with anyone, It's really bothersome  haha, I didn't ship her with JIS, KDW, not even HB too..i only became a shipper when confirmed dating news was out . 

So much to tell, but i rather keep mum, i know i shouldn't ship her as a fan...but she made it so hard for me ... and i wish i could buy their coincidence, dun she think ppl wouldn't buy that coincidence easily?..and i check fashion show in NYC at that time, i didn't see any..lame

as long as she is happy, i will support regardless of whom the person might be. But i really hope she has found her right man in life hehe

 No I totally get it. It's really hard not spazz over the two. So I understand. I'm the same way. I have to remind myself to Keep. My. Feels. In. Check. haha. And I don't think you're the type to overreact in a bad way at all. So I hope there was no misunderstanding. And I agree. I'm happy she's enjoying some time off and taking a breather while she considers her next project. In general, I think she's in a really happy place in her life right now, whether it's career or personal, and it clearly shows. And her fans are clearly excited for her since it's been a really long time since she's appeared this content. So whatever the reason, I'm glad for her. 

Hoping for some more interviews/photoshoots! I feel like once she decides her next project, especially if it's in China, getting any updates will be hard as she'll go into stealth mode again for a while. So really crossing my fingers for a bit more activities in Korea before then. >.<

like all of you here guys, I have nothing to wish for but all the best for SHK be it for her career or personal life , she deserves the best things in life! there are a lot of articles/news coming out now based on that Four Seasons presscon/interview and most of them they have presented it by bits though most of it are more focused on her chemistry and thoughts while working with SJK . very much thankful for all the wonderful kyonatics here by bringing in more news/updates of that interview, hats off to smiletall for the translation and you have covered almost everything in the interview while I can see only portions in some k media news, very thankful to you.  cant wait to know also her upcoming projects just hope its a good one and whether its a K or C movie , its gonna be a blockbuster one which is still elusive to her . since its already proven that SHK have lots of blockbuster dramas , it would be nice also that she will have a blockbuster movie too!

Guys i think there are so many people who aren't pleased abouth her "proud mom" comment on asking about SJK. Seems like so many people were quite heart broken.
