On May 11, the actor posted a photo of him in front of a coffee truck sent by Son Hyun Joo.

Park Sung Woong, Choi Jin Hyuk, And More Share Final Thoughts As “Rugal” Approaches Finale

OCN’s “Rugal” is coming to an end, and the cast has shared their final thoughts.

Choi Jin Hyuk, who plays superhero Kwang Ki Bum, shared, “While filming for over seven months, despite having many action scenes, I was able to complete them without any large injuries thanks to the staff members’ consideration and help. I want to tell them that I am really thankful. We are running towards the end. Gratifying action scenes and an unbelievable twist await so please look forward to it lots.”

Argos’s top villain Hwang Deuk Goo is played by Park Sung Woong, who commented, “Since we filmed for so long, it doesn’t feel real that we are finally done. ‘Rugal’ is a project that I paid special attention to while immersing into my character. The actors and staff did their best while filming, so I hope you look forward to it until the end and enjoy watching.”

Jo Dong Hyuk portrayed Rugal’s powerful captain Han Tae Woong. He shared, “Since everybody did their best while filming, it was a really special time, and I feel satisfied. I think I will be able to show viewers a good ending that reflects how hard we’ve worked. More exciting situations and subjects await further into the second half. Please don’t miss the finale.”

Jung Hye In received lots of love for her portrayal of girl crush superhero Song Mi Na. The actress shared, “I don’t know how the time passed from when I first greeted everyone to our last filming. When ‘Rugal’ is over, I think I will feel very empty. Thank you so much for watching ‘Rugal’ from the first episode. The actors and staff all worked hard on to film the drama, so please stay with us until the very end.”

Argos’s president Choi Ye Won is played by Han Ji Wan who shared, “I have come to adore this project to the point where I cannot believe we are at the end, and I want to keep filming. It is a project that I am very thankful for. Please watch ‘Rugal’ lots until the very end. Please also give Choi Ye Won lots of love.”

As director Choi Geun Chul, Kim Min Sang provided “Rugal” with many twists. He shared, “I want to send my applause to the staff and actors who worked so hard during this time. I also want to send my thanks to our viewers who have watched ‘Rugal’ until now. With only two episodes left, I’m sure they are very curious as to what will happen to Ki Bum. Please show us lots of attention and support.”

Kim Min Sang also raised tensions by teasing the finale. He commented, “Please watch out for the conclusions in the finale, including Kang Ki Bum who loses his memory, Choi Geun Chul whose past comes to light, and the final duel between Rugal and Hwang Deuk Goo. I also hope you will keep an eye out for whether the Rugal team is able to sustain itself.”

Playing the youngest of the Rugal team, Park Sun Ho commented, “Thank you to the actors I worked with, the director who guided me, and all of our staff members. We filmed while cheering each other on. While acting as Lee Gwang Chul, I attempted the action genre for the first time. It was always fun, and I was glad I was able to show my positive energy. Now that there’s only a bit of time before I have to send him off, I feel sad. In the finale, there will be even more extravagant action and a fast-paced development. Gwang Chul’s various transformations will also offer viewers lots of fun.”

Park Sung Woong And Choi Jin Hyuk Prepare To Face Off In Their Final Battle In “Rugal” Finale

OCN’s weekend drama “Rugal” has shared new stills of the final battle between Choi Jin Hyuk and Park Sung Woong.

“Rugal” is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and as an sci-fi action hero drama where a special organization named Rugal, which turns humans into weapons using biotechnology, fights against the terror organization known as Argos. The drama centers around the conflict between Kang Ki Bum (Choi Jin Hyuk) and Hwang Deuk Goo (Park Sung Woong).

The previous episode had followed the dissolution of the Rugal organization. Kang Ki Bum and Han Tae Woong (Jo Dong Hyuk) were locked up. Song Mi Na (Jung Hye In), Lee Kwang Chul (Park Sun Ho), and Bradley (Jang In Seop) believed Choi Geun Chul (Kim Min Sang)’s promise to get them out soon, but then took matters into their own hands to get their teammates out.

Afterwards, Kang Ki Bum left on his own to Hwang Deuk Goo’s secret lab and at the same time, Hwang Deuk Goo attacked the Rugal headquarters. Lee Kwang Chul tried to fend him off but was defeated and dragged back to the secret lab, and Han Tae Woong faced off against Choi Geun Chul, enraged when he realized that Choi Geun Chul had used the Rugal members to go against Argos.

With all of this happening, the final episode is set to be a whirlwind as bitter enemies face off for the final time as the story wraps up. The new stills show Hwang Deuk Goo and Kang Ki Bum facing each other. Although Hwang Deuk Goo has always seemed to be at ease when facing Kang Ki Bum in the past, he is more serious and cold than ever as they go against each other one final time. Other stills show Choi Geun Chul holding a gun as Han Tae Woong looks down on him, eliciting curiosity for what will happen to the two people who will decide the fate of Rugal.

On May 20, Ilgan Sports reported that Choi Jin Hyuk will be starring as the lead of the new KBS 2TV drama “Zombie Detective” (literal title).

Following reports, Choi Jin Hyuk’s agency clarified, “Choi Jin Hyuk has received the offer to star in KBS 2TV’s new drama ‘Zombie Detective,’ and he is currently reviewing the offer.” They added, “There are many projects he is considering, and nothing is confirmed.”

“Zombie Detective” is a survival comedy drama about a zombie who struggles in the human world after taking on a new identity as a detective following his resurrection four years ago. The drama will deliver a new form of entertainment with a refreshing and unique zombie character that possesses both a sexy and wild charisma with an unfortunate backstory about why he wasn’t turned to ashes.

If he decides to accept the offer, Choi Jin Hyuk will be taking on the role of the detective agency CEO Kim Moo Young. After losing his memories of the past, Kim Moo Young decides to humbly accept his new fate as a zombie. In order to survive, he hides in the hills while correcting his pronunciation and walking. Eventually, he discovers the corpse of someone who had no family or friends, and he infiltrates the village after taking on a new identity as “Kim Moo Young.” Finally, he becomes a detective, which begins the second act of his zombie life.

Since last year, Choi Jin Hyuk has been busy with numerous projects including SBS’s “The Last Empress,” KBS2’s “Justice,” and OCN’s “Rugal.”

“Zombie Detective” will be helmed by director Shim Jae Hyun, one of the co-directors of “The Producers,” and written by scriptwriter Baek Eun Jin.

According to Daily Sports on May 20, Choi Jin Hyuk will be playing the lead role in the KBS2’s upcoming drama Zombie Detective.

His agency clarified that Zombie Detective has been proposed to Choi Jin Hyuk and it is now under positive review.

“There are many projects under discussion and nothing is confirmed yet,” they added.

Zombie Detective is a survival comedy drama about a zombie who struggles in the human world after he takes up the identity of a detective four years ago.

Korean drama recommendation: “Tunnel”

Are you fond of suspense mystery-thriller dramas that involve time travelling?

Well, if you are up to that kind of twists, I highly recommend Tunnel starring Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Lee Yoo Young!

Tunnel has 16-worth-to-watch episodes that tells the story of a detective who desperately tries to catch a serial killer and goes to a tunnel where it’s 30 years into the future.

He teams up with a detective and a professor of criminal psychology in that time period to catch the culprit who still resumes the killings that began 30 years ago.

10/10: What do I love about this drama

Tunnel is definitely a wholesome drama if I would describe it in one word!

I really thought that Tunnel is just like the typical dramas who have serial killers and only focuses in solving crimes, but that thought abruptly changed when I finally watch it.

I already expected the thrilling vibe in which I will get excited in every crime scene and at the same time frustrated in analyzing who the real culprit would be.

But Tunnel gave me more than what I’ve expected! In every excitement, there is also sadness. I even shed tears in every episode about the past (30 years ago).

If it’s your cup of tea, then you really need to watch Tunnel and your time won’t be wasted!

Storyline

Daebak! It deserves the recognition!

As what I have said, Tunnel gives me an amazing spin-off of the story. No wonder why this drama receives positive and high-praise feedback.

I also tend to finish the drama because I am also curious about the ending. I have many questions and some are: Can he still go back to the past? How about his family? And how about the people he met in the present time? What would be the ending of this drama?

Aside from that, unlike from other mystery dramas, Tunnel already pointed out who the culprit is and it’s up to the main leads on how would they find it out.

Isn’t it frustrating yet exciting to watch the real culprit fooling the main leads? And that you wanted to enter the screen (in the story) and tell them about the real identity of the killer.

The curiosity weld my emotions up and that makes me love this drama. So much appreciation for this masterpiece.

Cinematography

A big yay for the cinematography! We can easily distinguish the past and the present time.

The motion and angles of the camera are well-positioned that shows the sides of the characters and their point of view.

Casts

Another set of amazing casts!

The main trio Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Lee Yoo Young played their characters effectively!

I can’t also help but stare at their faces every close up shot because of their undeniable visuals. Aside from them, other casts also did a great portrayal and lives up the characteristics of their characters.

In conclusion, Tunnel has great actors and actresses who give justice to the story.

Lessons from the story

Your life can’t change just because you want it to
Live your life according to your will and without regrets
You should learn to depend on others sometimes
Be true to yourself and admit that you are not okay
You can’t always keep everything to yourself, you need to lessen the pain by expressing it
Learn to appreciate the people around you especially those who really care for you
Everything will be on its right places.

Choi Jin-hyuk courted for new KBS zombie drama

Just coming off of his OCN action-crime drama Rugal, it looks like Choi Jin-hyuk may be returning to us with a new drama called Zombie Detective. It’s been reported that he’s been courted for the lead role in this upcoming KBS drama, as the CEO of a private investigations firm.

When he turns into a zombie, he loses his memory and goes into hiding in the mountainside. He humbly decides to accept his fate as a zombie. In order to survive, he adjusts his gait and speech pattern to resemble a human, and he even learns how to bleed realistically. (But no details yet on how he’ll stop his limbs from rotting and falling off.)

After four years of hiding, he comes across a corpse without friends or family, and decides to take on its identity and return to the human world. It turns out that the corpse is the head of a PI agency, and the zombie begins to solve mysteries in order to fit in with his new identity.

It’s not clear yet whether or not this will lean towards comedy or darker in tone, but it would be nice to see Choi Jin-hyuk take on a role that lets him use his action skills while showing off his comedic timing.

KBS drama Zombie Detective is currently being written by Baek Eun-jin (Heartbreak Library), and will be directed by PD Shim Jae-hyun (The Producers).

Actor Choi Jin Hyuk is in talks to lead a new zombie drama. On May 20, news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that Choi Jin Hyuk will be starring in KBS' new drama 'Zombie Detective' (literal translation).

'Zombie Detective' is a comedy drama about a zombie struggling in the human world after taking on a new identity as a detective named 'Kim Moo-young' (Choi Jin Hyuk) following his resurrection four years ago. In order to live among humans, he hides in the mountain for months to correct his pronunciation and the way he walked. One day, he comes across a dead body who turned out to be the body of a person who had no family or friends, he chooses to become part of a human community in a small town as a detective.

However, not too long after the report was published, Choi Jin Hyuk's management agency clarified that the actor has not confirmed his appearance in 'Zombie Detective'. The agency stated, "'Zombie Detective' is one of the projects that we're currently going over together, but we still haven't decided whether to join the team."

'Zombie Detective' will be produced by producer Shim Jae-hyun who made KBS' hit drama 'The Producers' in 2015. It has not yet been announced when 'Zombie Detective' will be unveiled.
