‘Quiet Sales’ Pleasantly Spicy

style_6722f2a18ab7b-768x512.jpg

<Quiet Sales> The original <Brief Encounters> is set in 1980s England. It is a story about housewives who jump into selling adult products to make a living. When moving it to Korea, the production team set the clock back 10 years to the 1990s. The core of this story is the clash between traditional society and modern women. The 1990s rural Korea is a time and space where this setting works well. The main characters unintentionally engage in a struggle for women’s ‘sexuality’ and ‘economic and emotional independence’, causing a rift in the solid Confucian and patriarchal order.

In a scene from <Quiet Sales>, the main characters hold a meeting to target Heo Young-ja (Jung Young-joo), the center of the local middle-class social circle. Heo Young-ja likes ‘other people’s misfortune’. The main characters compare whose misfortune will be popular.

Han Jeong-suk (Kim So-yeon)'s husband is a bad father who messes up everything he does and falls behind on rent, but only yells at home. On top of that, he had an affair with Jeong-suk's best friend. Seo Yeong-bok's (Kim Seon-yeong) husband is cute and charming, so he's easy to live with, but he's no help to the household. He has declared that he'll live off his wife. Lee Joo-ri (Lee Se-hee) is a single mother who runs a beauty salon and raises her child alone. Oh Geum-hee (Kim Seong-ryeong) is an elite who graduated from a university English department and her family is wealthy, but she feels limited by her life as a full-time housewife. Her husband ignores Geum-hee, saying she doesn't know anything about the world.

Compared to the drama <Jeongnyeon> that was released around the same time, which criticized the original work's patriarchal system and deviated from traditional gender concepts, regressing to the level of a 20th-century children's classic fairy tale, <Jeong-han Sales>'s depiction is much more realistic and spicy.

In the aforementioned episode, the main characters decide to use Oh Geum-hee, who Heo Yeong-ja feels a sense of competition with, and throw in the bait that their relationship has become too intense because of her sexy underwear. The result is a huge success. In this way, the drama presents the various limitations that contemporary women face, while not missing the main characters’ growth as saleswomen by displaying their wit at the right time. It is also interesting that it points out the various coordinates where class conflict and women’s issues separate and intersect by immediately suggesting that the proud Heo Yeong-ja is also a victim of a male-dominated society.

The main characters’ business is not going smoothly. The police are dispatched to their first event. Someone reported them for prostitution. The husbands are embarrassed and interfere with their work. Someone else graffiti Jeong-suk’s house with the word “SEX.” The men in the neighborhood assume that adult product salespeople are corrupt and easygoing.

This comedy is effective because viewers remember the past atmosphere when women’s pleasure was sealed. Sexy underwear, masturbation devices, and women’s desires are no longer taboo. So we can observe the backlash of the less enlightened in the drama from a superior perspective. This leads to the imagination of how the various conflicts surrounding sexual ethics in our society today, such as the fight for legal status for homosexuals and the backlash, will be evaluated in the future. Of course, the lines of the four idiots explaining things like thong panties with holes, dildos, and vaginal lubricants to outsiders can also cause quick and easy laughter. <Quiet Sales> often shows women’s friendships and choices that transcend the times. Unlike Jeong-suk and Yeong-bok, who started selling adult products because they were desperate to make a living, Geum-hee sets the table for them out of loyalty to her housekeeper Jeong-suk. Despite her flashy appearance, Joo-ri is refreshing and has a strong sense of vitality. He transforms from the first buyer of ‘Fantasy Lingerie’ to a model, and soon joins the sales business. The four of them stand up to external criticism with a strong bond and take care of each other. When Jeong-suk finds out about her husband’s affair, instead of reciting the common repertoire of “I endure it for the sake of my child,” she demands a divorce, saying that if she is unhappy, her child will feel it too.

The heterosexual romance elements of this drama unfold without damaging the theme of the work. Detective Kim Do-hyun (Yeon Woo-jin) was adopted as a child and grew up in the United States, and came to this town in pursuit of the secret of his birth. He is a character who has escaped the Confucian sexual ideals and patriarchal order that Jeong-suk must destroy. It is hard to believe that a rural police officer in that era would faithfully investigate a hate crime committed against a sales agent for adult products, but Do-hyun’s background makes it convincing.

In many ways, this comedy draws nostalgia for the humble past while also being contemporary enough and sometimes even futuristic. It is a story about mothers who struggle to make a living in fields that society does not recognize as jobs, as the title of the book <We Don't Have Business Cards, Do We Not Work?> reminds me, and it is a story about women who live as feminists without even knowing what feminism is. That is why this drama is full of laughter, emotion, and inspiration.

The ensemble of Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, Jung Young-joo, and Kim Won-hae is truly outstanding. Kim Jung-jin, who showed his presence in <This Intimate Traitor> and <Quiet Sales> in the same period, and Lee Se-hee, who perfectly recreates the hot girl style of the 1990s, are also refreshing. It is a drama that has fun, meaning, and perfection.

<Quiet Sales> is a 12-episode series that will air on JTBC every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 PM starting October 12. You can also watch it on Netflix, Tving, Series On, and U+ Mobile TV.

Quiet Sales' divorce Kim So-yeon, Choi Jae-rim in a RickRoll'D car goes away, and Yeon Woo-jin in a Benz comes

01.38492618.1.jpg

The viewers' attention is focused on the romance story of Kim So-yeon and Yeon Woo-jin, who are creating a high-intensity thrill with a strange atmosphere in JTBC's 'Quiet Sales'.

In the last episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Quiet Sales' (directed by Jo Woong, written by Choi Bo-rim, provided by SLL, produced by Hi-Zium Studio, 221b), the quiet wife Han Jeong-sook (Kim So-yeon) finally divorced her husband Kwon Seong-soo (Choi Jae-rim), giving a refreshing catharsis to the living room theater. The reason Jeong-sook had been tolerating Seong-soo, who couldn't make money and only caused trouble, was because she wanted to protect her family. That's why even when Seong-soo couldn't control his temper and threw a punch, getting kicked out without receiving a single penny of his salary, and even when he blew the money for rent on a reckless investment, she endured it because he was her 'husband' and 'child's father' and ran around in every way to solve the problem. Such efforts by Jeong-suk were miserable, and Seong-soo was a “trash” husband who had an affair with his wife’s best friend Park Mi-hwa (Hong Ji-hee) and didn’t even apologize.

The reason why Seong-soo could swing this at Jeong-suk like a weapon, saying, “Do you want to inherit the shadow of a single-parent family?” was because at that time, it was common to turn a blind eye to a husband’s affair and the world’s view on divorced women was sharp. That’s why Jeong-suk’s mother Lee Bok-soon (Kang Ae-shim), whose husband proudly brought a concubine into the house and stood alone, had not been able to organize her documents until now. This was also Jeong-suk’s biggest concern. More than anything, she was worried about the hurt her son Min-ho (Choi Ja-woon) would receive. However, Min-ho’s one word, “Happiness is mutually inherited,” made her decide to divorce. If happiness is mutually inherited, so is unhappiness, but Jeong-suk, who was no longer happy with Seong-soo, could not “inherit” that unhappiness to her son.

In this way, ‘Benz’ Kim Do-hyun (Yeon Woo-jin) approached Jeong-suk, who divorced ‘RickRoll'D car’ Seong-su. Jeong-suk’s first impression of Do-hyun, who thought adult products were her “last hope,” was that she was a “strange woman.” However, Jeong-suk, whom he kept meeting in the village and got to know more closely, was a “cool woman” who bravely went forward against the world’s prejudice. That’s why Do-hyun, who drew a sharp line with others, couldn’t do that to Jeong-suk, and she helped him a lot, such as being the first to participate in the adult product survey, cheering him on by comparing him to ‘Seo Taiji and Boys’ who were ahead of their time, and finding Min-ho who suddenly disappeared. Jeong-suk, who was slowly becoming attracted to Do-hyun, also made Do-hyun, who took care of her son all night, make his heart flutter with a more exciting suggestion than the ramen plot, “Would you like to have kalguksu together?”

Jeong-suk and Do-hyun, who were gradually getting closer, shared concerns that they couldn’t tell others. “Is it right to hurt the child who is most comfortable next to his father just to make himself comfortable?” said Seong-soo, scratching his head. Jung-sook was wondering which path would make Min-ho happy. Do-hyun advised her, “Don’t guess and ask your child. It’s the path that will hurt you the most, but it’s the path that will make you regret less.” Jung-sook was able to make the big decision to divorce after asking Min-ho about happiness. Do-hyun also confessed to Jung-sook the story of being adopted to the United States when he was young and looking for his biological mother in Geumje. It was because he was more comfortable telling anyone than “a man who is more comfortable than a friend.” At the end of the last broadcast, Jung-sook was in danger after going to Kyung-sik’s house at the request of his classmate, who wanted to surprise his wife. At the moment of crisis when she was running away from Kyung-sik with all her might, Do-hyun, the savior, appeared. It was because the villagers were worried about Jung-sook, who went there alone in the middle of the night, as Kyung-sik had a wife or not. Do-hyeon, who ran in one stride, subdued Gyeong-sik and then looked at Jeong-suk, who was terrified, with worried eyes, creating a strange atmosphere. The ending raised expectations for the future story of these two, who will be able to move beyond their relationship of ‘a man who is more comfortable than a friend’.

A Virtuous Business Episode 6 Review: Jeong-suk’s Journey of Growth

A-Virtuous-Business-Episode-6-Review-1-6

byTaniya CJ

In Episode 5 of A Virtuous Business, Jeong-suk finds herself entangled in an emotional whirlwind as Seong-su attempts to rekindle his relationship with Mi-hwa, leading to tension at home. Meanwhile, at work, Jeong-suk and her business partners strategize on targeting new customers, ultimately winning over Ms. Heo with a clever pitch. However, Ms. Heo’s vulnerability surfaces when she learns of her husband’s infidelity, prompting Jeong-suk to reflect on the sacrifices and stigmas tied to marriage and divorce.

Amidst this, Da-hyun’s investigation into his past deepens, as he revisits old arson cases that may hold answers about his family. Jeong-suk’s strained relationship with Seong-su worsens when he belittles her family, pushing her to a pivotal decision: it’s time to end their marriage and reclaim control of her future.

Episode 6 begins with a nostalgic flashback to Seong-su stepping in to defend Jeong-suk from bullies as a child. They had taunted her over rumors about her mother, who had allegedly been abandoned for another woman. Seong-su’s support cemented their bond, leaving Jeong-suk with a deep appreciation for him and her family, a love that once brought her happiness. Yet, now, as she stands before the divorce office, Jeong-suk reflects on how she never envisioned her marriage would come to this end. Seong-su makes one last attempt to bring up her mother as a reason to reconsider, but Jeong-suk is resolute; she declares that she won’t let this separation define or diminish her.

A-Virtuous-Business-Episode-6-Review-4-1

Meanwhile, Jeong-suk’s friends are determined to lift her spirits. Ju-ri humorously suggests she find a new love, but the group decides a girls’ trip would be more helpful. Their plan fortuitously aligns with an opportunity from their work: a sales trip to Gyesim-do Island, with a chance to earn a portion of the profits. Since Ms. Park can’t join, the four friends are set to handle the event, an overnight adventure that will give them some much-needed relaxation and bonding.

Before the trip, Jeong-suk meets Da-hyun at the library, where he’s researching documents as part of his search for his mother. She invites him to her house, thinking it might give him a chance to speak with her mother, who may know something about the town’s history that could help him. As they chat, she also sees it as an opportunity to thank him for helping with her son, Min-ho, who gets to spend time with his friend Dong-u while Da-hyun visits.

a Youtube netizen refers to So Yeon as the "Actress of a thousand faces" under a video of "Virtuous Business" . This name reminds me of the protagonist in the manga "Glass Mask" who has the talent to embody any character that she is casted. I'm not happy anytime the media mentions her as "veteran actress". Any actors can become "veteran" if they work long enough so there is nothing special about that. I hope her PR Team can pick up "Actress of thousand faces" or "Chameleon" to build her personal brand.

It was hard for her to get the role in Prosecutor Princess but thankfully, she got the role. She broke the tough image she has and proved she can to do many genres.  She had relatively diverse roles in her career and that`s great for an actor. Not many actors/ actresses has that luck. Usually, they are cast in the same genre all the time.

Regarding the title of veteran actress, I don`t mind it at all. They use it to show respect for someone who work long in the industry. I don`t think it is nothing special. In my opinion, 30 years in the entertaining business means something. Not many people can do it. The acting career is not easy when you consider that there is a lot of competition on the market and new figures appear in the industry every year. This is the reason So yeon says that if she will be born again, she doesn`t want to be an actress although she loves this job very much. To wait for new projects knowing there is the risk that they will not come is desolating.

Hey, tomorrow, we`ll have a new episode of Quiet Sales. :glee:

Happy Birthday, Kim So Yeon! Today, we celebrate the remarkable talent of this underrated South Korean actress, whose versatility has shone through in a plethora of memorable roles over her career spanning more than two decades.

From the conniving anchorwoman in All About Eve to the complex character of a musical school director in The Penthouse: War in Life, Kim So Yeon has proven time and again that she is one of the industry’s most capable performers. Here are seven unskippable roles that highlight her impressive range and talent.

1) All About Eve

Kim So Yeon’s breakout role came with the hit drama All About Eve, where she played the ambitious and manipulative news anchor Heo Young Mi. This character became iconic, showing her ability to embody the complexity of a villain with depth. The drama captured the hearts of viewers, achieving a peak viewership rating of 45.2%, and cemented Kim So Yeon's status as a formidable actress in the industry.

The intense rivalry between her character and the protagonist played by Chae Rim not only demonstrated her acting chops but also made her a household name. Young Mi’s cold-heartedness and fierce determination set a precedent for many of Kim So Yeon’s future roles, proving that she could carry a narrative filled with suspense and intrigue.

2) Iris

After a brief hiatus from the limelight, Kim So Yeon made a stunning comeback with the action-packed series Iris. In this high-stakes drama, she played a North Korean spy named Joon Hae Rin. Kim So Yeon’s transformation for the role, which included cutting her long hair and training for intense action scenes, was impressive and showed her dedication to the craft.

The character was both tough and vulnerable, embroiled in a love triangle that added layers to her storyline. This role not only revitalized her career but also garnered her a new fanbase, proving her ability to transition from melodrama to action with grace.

3) Prosecutor Princess

Kim So Yeon’s ability to shift genres is on full display in Prosecutor Princess, where she played the role of Ma Hye Ri, a fashion-conscious rookie prosecutor. This character is charmingly naive and initially more interested in her looks than her legal career, but as the story unfolds, she surprises everyone with her intelligence and strong sense of justice.

Kim So Yeon infused the role with humor and warmth, allowing audiences to connect with her as she navigated personal and professional challenges. The show’s light-hearted tone contrasted sharply with her previous roles, illustrating her versatility and ability to tackle different types of characters effectively.

4) Secret Mother

In Secret Mother, Kim So Yeon portrayed the enigmatic character Lee Seon Jae, a woman who becomes a nanny for a single mother while hiding her own dark past. The psychological tension and intrigue of the plot allowed her to explore the depths of her character’s psyche, balancing warmth with a chilling sense of mystery.

This drama was well-received and highlighted Kim So Yeon's ability to draw viewers into a complex narrative, keeping them guessing about her character’s true motives. The performance was another highlight of her range, as she effortlessly shifted from maternal warmth to an unsettling intensity, demonstrating her talent as an actress.

5) The Penthouse: War in Life

One of Kim So Yeon’s most notable recent roles is that of Cheon Seo Jin in The Penthouse: War in Life, a character that echoes the cunning nature of her role in All About Eve. As a ruthless musical school director and soprano, Kim So Yeon’s performance was both captivating and chilling.

The drama was a sensational hit, captivating audiences with its over-the-top plots and intense rivalries, and Kim So Yeon’s portrayal of Seo Jin was a standout, earning her numerous awards, including the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards. Her ability to play a villainous character that viewers loved to hate was a major highlight of the series, demonstrating her talent for balancing complex emotions.

6) Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938

In this fantasy drama, Kim So Yeon stars alongside Lee Dong Wook, marking her return to the genre with a character that blends traditional folklore with modern sensibilities. Her performance in Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 shows her capability to navigate the complexities of fantasy storytelling while delivering a performance that feels grounded and relatable.

The series, which explores themes of love, loyalty, and sacrifice, allowed Kim So Yeon to delve into a character that carries significant emotional weight, further showing her range as an actress. Her chemistry with co-stars and her commitment to the role highlight her continuing evolution in the industry.

7) A Virtuous Business

A Virtuous Business presents another opportunity for Kim So Yeon to explore new terrain in her career. As a housewife who sells adult products, the role is intriguing and breaks away from her previously established characters.

This ongoing drama marks a new chapter for Kim So Yeon, who has consistently chosen roles that challenge societal norms and expectations. By taking on this unique character, she demonstrates her willingness to tackle bold narratives that resonate with contemporary audiences.

As Kim So Yeon celebrates her birthday today, it’s clear that her contributions to the South Korean entertainment industry are both diverse and impactful. Her roles have not only entertained audiences but have also paved the way for discussions around the complexities of women in both dramatic and comedic contexts. 'Quiet Sales' Kim So-yeon's awakening? She transforms into a 'strong older sister' with red lipstick

mn_30649_20241102144733_1.jpg

'Quiet Sales' Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee are going full black. Curiosity is rising as to why they became unapproachable 'strong older sisters' with thick eyeliner and red lipstick makeovers.

In the last episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Quiet Sales' (written by Choi Bo-rim/directed by Jo Woong), Han Jeong-sook (played by Kim So-yeon) who went door-to-door to a classmate's house alone faced a major crisis. Kyung-sik (played by Shim Woo-sung), who looked down on Jeong-sook for selling adult products, threatened her. Kim Do-hyun (played by Yeon Woo-jin) showed up just in time to avoid the crisis, but judging from the preview video for Episode 7 that was released, it seems that another crisis derived from this incident is coming to Jeong-sook.

In this incident, Jeong-sook is clearly the victim. However, in the preview video, Jeong-sook is seen cowering and hiding herself, saying, "There's absolutely no way yesterday's incident will be known outside." It was understandable. Despite the harsh gazes of those around her, Jeong-suk was met with considerable criticism from the neighborhood. The friendly hardware store owner, whom she had known for quite some time, suddenly changed one day and painted sexual graffiti on Jeong-suk’s house wall, and the neighborhood residents whispered about Jeong-suk behind her back every day. The rumors from the residents were scratching Jeong-suk.

To make matters worse, the shameless perpetrator, Gyeong-sik, complains of injustice, saying, “How could I be someone who would do that?” As Do-hyeon advises, “Avoiding and covering up may not necessarily be the way to go for everyone,” avoiding may not be the only way to prevent secondary harm. Jeong-suk, who always supports her with support, goes to the police station and says, “Whether it’s a fight or a physical fight, let’s win no matter what,” and faces the problem head on without flinching.

In the still cuts released ahead of the broadcast on the 2nd, the unapproachable visuals of the 'Bangpan Sisters' who appeared at the police station with a burning spirit catch the eye. Shedding the image of familiar older sisters, they put a lot of strength into their faces with eyeliner that seems to reach their temples and dark lipstick. The 'Bangpan Sisters' who have completed the visuals of 'strong older sisters' that are not easy to approach are wondering if they can join forces to win unconditionally, and the fierce performance of the older sisters who will properly roar is making viewers' desire to watch the 7th episode live.

The production team said, "Jung-sook, who had been cowering in the controversy, has awakened properly and is standing up to it without avoiding it, and with the strong support of the 'Bangpan Sisters', it seems that the cider synergy will explode." They added, "Jung-sook's cider has been upgraded every time so far. We hope you enjoy that refreshing catharsis once again." Meanwhile, the 7th episode of 'Quiet Sales' will air at 10:30 PM on the 2nd.

#. ‘Bangpan Sisters’ Kim So-yeon-Kim Sung-ryung-Kim Sun-young-Lee Se-hee, promoted to branch manager?

The ‘Bangpan Sisters’ each jumped into door-to-door sales of adult products for their own reasons. Jeong-suk and Yeong-bok wanted to earn money to buy their children school bags and study desks. Joo-ri had to work a second job to cover the suddenly increased rent at the beauty salon. For Geum-hee, who had nothing to do but prepare meals for her husband, the door-to-door sales became an exciting source of energy. Although it was not easy to sell adult products in 1992, when sex was taboo, they achieved a complete sellout with brilliant sales ideas. They created a calm and quiet atmosphere like a tea ceremony for the Geumje residents who were averse to adult products, and added lingerie wearing demonstrations and ‘informative’ explanations of adult products, which led to an increase in sales. They also increased the participation rate in the survey by giving away King Bangul underwear, and analyzed the results to target “customers with full wallets but no purchase history” and target the wife of the president of the ‘Royal Club’, Heo Yeong-ja (Jeong Yeong-ju). As a result, if she could just earn 100,000 won more in sales, she would have the opportunity to challenge for the position of branch manager of ‘Fantasy Lingerie.’ The viewers were also enthusiastically cheering her on, wondering how far the story of the ‘Bangpan Sisters’ fighting against prejudice would go.

#. Yeon Woo-jin's search for his biological mother begins in earnest. Who is the mother he is desperately looking for?

Detective Do-hyun from Seoul has been secretly investigating the personal information of the residents of Geumje. When the suspicious mystery reached its peak, it was revealed in the previous broadcast that Do-hyun was looking for his biological mother in Geumje. When synthesizing the clues so far, a woman of mysterious saved the newborn Do-hyun, who was engulfed in flames and in danger of death, and left him with a nun at the church. According to the nun's testimony at the time, a woman in her 20s or 30s brought the baby, who had been abandoned alone in a large fire or with burn scars, without anyone to come and find him. She wore a wooden rosary ring on her hand and had a ticket to Geumje. As Do-hyun was putting the pieces together, a clue completely different from the direction of the investigation was thrown. Thirty years ago, a series of unsolved arson cases occurred in Geumje, and the culprit who started the fire took the newborns away during the chaos. It was the moment when suspicions arose that Do-hyun was also a victim of this incident. What happened to newborn baby Do-hyeon, and who is the mother he is desperately looking for? Do-hyeon's full-fledged 'search for his mother' is a key point to watch in the second act of 'Quiet Sales' that sparks curiosity.

#. Yeon Woo-jin saves Kim So-yeon in crisis, their romance gains momentum?!

The romance between Jeong-suk and Do-hyeon, which has been creating a strange atmosphere and causing high-intensity excitement, gains momentum starting from the second act. In the last episode, Do-hyeon appeared as Jeong-suk’s savior when she was in danger. Jeong-suk met her classmate Gyeong-sik (Sim Woo-sung) by chance and went out alone to the room after receiving his request. However, for some reason, Jeong-suk ran away from Gyeong-sik in a hurry, heightening the tension. At the moment of life or death when Jeong-suk, who was hiding, was caught by Gyeong-sik, Do-hyeon appeared and subdued Gyeong-sik. Do-hyeon’s eyes, looking at Jeong-suk who was trembling with fear, were filled with concern for her, raising expectations for their relationship to develop into something more than a “man who is more comfortable than a friend.” Above all, Do-hyeon, who cared about Jeong-suk so much, has become absorbed in Jeong-suk to the point where he can smile just by looking at her face. Curiosity is growing as to whether he will realize her feelings and properly cross the line.

Episode 7 of ‘Quiet Sales’ will air on JTBC at 10:30 PM tonight.

'Quiet Sales' Kim So-yeon, to Yeon Woo-jin who is worried, "I will take care of my own business"

(Export News Reporter Lee Ee-jin) 'Quiet Sales' Yeon Woo-jin was worried about Kim So-yeon. In episode 7 of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Quiet Sales' that aired on the 2nd, Han Jeong-sook (played by Kim So-yeon) was depicted being harsh to Kim Do-hyun (played by Yeon Woo-jin).

On this day, Han Jeong-suk was in danger of being sexually assaulted by her classmate Kim Gyeong-sik while doing door-to-door sales, but was able to escape the crisis with Kim Do-hyeon's help. Kim Do-hyeon arrested the criminal at the scene.

After that, Han Jeong-suk was about to go door-to-door selling, but she thought of Kim Kyung-sik's face and felt fear. Kim Do-hyun, who knew this, worried about Han Jeong-suk and suggested, "As I told you yesterday, I think you need to take a break from work and take some time. I'll take you home."

Han Jeong-suk refused, saying, "No. I've worried my coworkers a lot because of personal matters. I don't want to create unnecessary rumors." Kim Do-hyun tried to persuade her, saying, "Avoiding and covering up may not necessarily be the way to go for everyone. Even if it's hard, wouldn't it be better to confront and fix things? The Han Jeong-suk I know seems to be that kind of person."

However, Han Jeong-suk snapped, saying, "What should I confront and face? I'll take care of my own business."

'Quiet Sales' Kim So-yeon, Yeon Woo-jin's biological parents' investigation cooperation... Ending with a heartbreaking hug

(Xports News Reporter Lee Ee-jin) 'Quiet Sales' Yeon Woo-jin hugged Kim So-yeon. In the 7th episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Quiet Sales' that aired on the 2nd, Han Jeong-sook (played by Kim So-yeon) was shown helping Kim Do-hyun (played by Yeon Woo-jin) find his biological parents. On this day, Kim Do-hyun confessed, "I'm so grateful that you're helping me find my parents. However, I think it's right for me to solve this problem on my own."

Han Jeong-sook tried to persuade him, saying, "Is this how it felt? You felt bad that I didn't ask for help and just carried this by myself. Why don't you just start without overthinking it too much? If you feel like it's no help, you can just throw me out without mercy then."

In the end, Kim Do-hyun accepted Han Jeong-sook's suggestion and took her home to share the data he had researched. Kim Do-hyun showed her the data and said, "I thought there was a high probability that the woman who left me at the Seongdang Orphanage was someone from Geumje. I can't guarantee that she still lives here," and made it clear.

Han Jeong-sook asked, "So does that mean that your mother could be one of these people?" and Kim Do-hyun said, "I don't know. Is it my mother or someone who found me by chance? I wanted to hear that story directly, so I narrowed it down to this candidate, and I recently found a new clue," and showed her a newspaper article.

Han Jeong-sook was shocked and said, "I had no idea that such incidents existed in Geumjeong. So you're saying that they set fires and took advantage of the chaos to kidnap babies?" Kim Do-hyun explained, "That's right. It seems that the victims are mainly children from poor families."

Han Jeong-sook sighed, saying, "No, not just one, but how could there be so many babies?" and Kim Do-hyun expressed his bitterness, saying, "At first, it was considered a simple disappearance, but after realizing that it was a serial kidnapping case, it seems like it was turned into a public investigation. If the case had been made public from the beginning, the damage would have been reduced."

Han Jeong-sook asked, "But can I ask why you think this case is related to you, detective?" and Kim Do-hyun showed him the scar on his arm.

Kim Do-hyun said, "It's a burn mark that I had since I was left at the orphanage. The woman who brought me here said that there was a big fire in the village and that she brought me to a temple that had been abandoned. And I keep having the same dream. I don't know when, but I've been having the same dream every day. I can't remember when I last fell asleep comfortably."

Kim Do-hyun added, "This is a situation where a full-scale reinvestigation is needed, taking a completely different direction from the investigation we have been conducting," and Han Jeong-sook said, "Then you will need my help even more. I will ask the women in the neighborhood a lot because I have many opportunities to meet them. I think they will be able to talk more comfortably than if you ask them."

Also, after returning home, Han Jeong-suk realized that she had left her notebook behind and went back to Kim Do-hyeon’s house. Kim Do-hyeon was asleep, and Han Jeong-suk was surprised to see him struggling. Kim Do-hyeon woke up and hugged Han Jeong-suk, who was worried about him.

Kim So Yeon And Yeon Woo Jin Pretend To Be An Engaged Couple In "A Virtuous Business"

Nov 03, 2024
by E Cha

Yeon Woo Jin will finally become aware of his growing feelings for Kim So Yeon on the next episode of “A Virtuous Business”!

A remake of the British television series “Brief Encounters,” “A Virtuous Business” tells the story of the independence, growth, and friendship of four women who delve into door-to-door sales of adult products in a rural village back in 1992, when it was still taboo to talk about sex.

Spoilers

Previously on “A Virtuous Business,” Han Jung Sook (Kim So Yeon) and Kim Do Hyun (Yeon Woo Jin) gradually grew closer as they opened up to one another about their concerns. Out of gratitude to Do Hyun, who had always looked out for Jung Sook and helped her whenever she faced a crisis, Jung Sook made up her mind that she would be the one to help him this time—and she decided to assist him in his search for his biological mother.

At the end of the latest episode, the two characters reached a turning point in their relationship when Do Hyun suddenly embraced Jung Sook after waking up from a nightmare.

In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Do Hyun and Jung Sook go undercover as an engaged couple. As they pretend to shop for their impending marriage, Do Hyun “helps” Jung Sook pick out a hanbok (traditional Korean garment)—but he unexpectedly finds himself blushing after seeing just how beautiful she looks.

Later, as the fake couple shares a meal together late at night, it’s clear that the atmosphere between them is different from before.

The “A Virtuous Business” production team teased, “Do Hyun, who is unable to draw the line when it comes to Jung Sook and has always kept an eye on her, will face inner turmoil after becoming aware of the change in his own feelings. This will mark the start of his denial phase.”

They continued, “Please keep an eye on whether Jung Sook will be able to become Do Hyun’s savior the way Do Hyun became hers.”

To find out whether Do Hyun will be able to accept his newfound feelings, tune in to the next episode of “A Virtuous Business” on November 3 at 10:30 p.m. KST!

TV Report = Reporter Lee Hye-mi] ‘Quiet Sales’ Kim So-yeon achieved her sales target of 1st place and stood tall as the first branch manager in the Geumje region. On the 3rd, JTBC’s ‘Quiet Sales’ showed Jeong-suk (played by Kim So-yeon) being confused by Do-hyeon’s (played by Yeon Woo-jin) neglect even after being promoted to branch manager.

On this day, Jeong-suk achieved 1st place in sales in the first half of the year based on excellent sales ideas such as producing Korean-language user manuals for adult products and holding customer appreciation events, becoming the first branch manager in the Geumje region. In response, Bang Pan-ju congratulated Jeong-suk by giving her a bouquet of flowers, and Jeong-suk smiled, saying, “Thank you. You didn’t have to do this much.” Geum-hee (played by Kim Sung-ryung) said, “Even though I became a branch manager, the company only gave me the position and didn’t hold any special events, so we should at least feel good among ourselves.”

Unlike the existing salespeople, Jeong-suk, who became a branch manager, will receive a fixed salary from the headquarters. Joo-ri (played by Lee Se-hee) expressed her envy by saying, “I’m so jealous of you. We really need to work hard too,” to Jung-sook, who recently became pregnant with her fifth child. Young-bok (played by Kim Sun-young) also agreed. Jung-sook made Bang-pan-jju laugh by saying, “I’ll buy you a proper meal next week. No, I’ll buy you drinks.”

Jung-sook also shared the good news with Do-hyun. He said, “I got promoted. It’s a great job, since it’s given to the person with the highest performance as a branch manager,” but Do-hyun blatantly avoided Jung-sook, saying, “I’m sorry, but I have to go to the office.” This is because Do-hyun is feeling a romantic interest in Jung-sook. Jung-sook, who couldn’t know this, reflected on her past actions, saying, “What? Did I do something wrong? Did I disappoint you by getting excited with uncertain knowledge? Did I just keep crying?”

In the end, Jeong-suk asked Do-hyeon, "Actually, it could be my imagination, but I feel like you're avoiding me. Do you think you want me to stop?" However, Do-hyeon accidentally hung up the phone, creating a misunderstanding between the two.

"I'm going to check"... 'Quiet Sales' Yeon Woo-jin, hugs ♥Kim So-yeon → Realizes love

2859ce79dae0ad4fe421f3edf9b03f57141045a4

(Xports News Reporter Lee Yi-jin) 'Quiet Sales' Yeon Woo-jin hugs Kim So-yeon. In the 8th episode of JTBC's 'Quiet Sales' that aired on the 3rd, Kim Do-hyun (played by Yeon Woo-jin) realized his love for Han Jeong-sook (played by Kim So-yeon).

On this day, Kim Do-hyun felt his feelings for Han Jeong-sook and deliberately distanced himself. Han Jeong-sook also noticed that Kim Do-hyun's attitude had changed.

Han Jeong-sook waited in front of Kim Do-hyun's house, and Kim Do-hyun saw Han Jeong-sook sitting in front of the house and called out, "Ms. Han Jeong-sook?" Han Jeong-sook said, "I borrowed the materials back then, so I think I should return them. I'm sorry. I was a bit flustered because you suddenly distanced yourself, but when I thought back on my actions, I realized that it was understandable." Han Jeong-sook said, "Even if it were me, I think it would be better to do it alone. But I want to say this as the last thing. The process was sloppy, but I sincerely wanted to help. I hope you don't misunderstand that I'm taking your work lightly." Kim Do-hyun said, "That's," and seemed troubled. Han Jeong-sook confessed, "But honestly, I'm a bit upset. At the rest stop that day, you said thank you for taking care of me and asked me to take care of you in the future, right? So I thought that was true and really tried to do my best. If you had shown it, I don't think I would have felt this way."

However, Han Jeong-sook made an excuse, saying, "I made a mistake when I said I got hit in the back of the head. I drank a couple bottles of soju to celebrate my promotion, and when people talk, they get more upset. That's why I said something too harsh, so don't take it to heart. I felt like things would get more awkward after today. I thought it would be better to say everything I wanted to say last, but the conversation went on for too long. I'm really going to go." Kim Do-hyun confessed, "Han Jeong-sook. It's true that I tried to distance myself. But it's definitely not for the reason you think. I just felt a little confused when I was with you, so I tried to avoid you." Han Jeong-sook looked puzzled, saying, "Because of me? What on earth is confusing?" Kim Do-hyun said, "I don't know either. That's why I wanted to check," and hugged Han Jeong-sook.

episode 7 averages at 4.8% and episode 8 averages at 5.6% in rating (source Wiki). As a romance/ drama, the plot is progressing reasonably. As a comedy, however, it is becoming less funnier. The scene with the most laugh is still episode 1-2 (first product showcase scene). There are only 4 episodes left so i won't expect a surprise in rating. However, i still think this is a memorable , and in some ways, a turning project in her career.
