is this different from 6 months? isn't she in 6 months as well?

thanks for the lovely pics <33

Six Months is the previous name of That Fool/Accidental Couple/Just Looking.

Whoa, the last time I saw LCA was a long time ago, can't remember whether it was Let's Go To The Beach or My Tutor Friend 2. After MTF2, I harboured some shipping for the couple Park Ki Woong and LCA, they just looked so good together. I'm watching Just Looking too right now and she's a total hoot in every scene she's in. I hope she has more screen time in future episodes.

She headlines a new drama- Pure Pumpkin Flower which will start November 15- dunno any of her co-stars. I hope this new drama does well. She is also in the first episode of Actress Butler. I find her lovely and funny in a shy and understated way.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop begins filming

ramyun1.jpg

Here’s our first look at tvN’s upcoming Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, its youth-targeted romantic comedy series starring Jung Il-woo (49 Days) and Lee Ki-woo (A Star’s Lover) as a couple of its resident pretty boys.

Above are images from the drama’s first shoot, which took place about a week ago at a cafe. It’s funny that Jung sports a much more polished look than his grumpypants Scheduler character from 49 Days, since he’s actually playing younger in this drama; he trades in the Scheduler’s unruly perm for a sleeker haircut and a more chic fashion sense to play a second-generation chaebol character who’s still in high school.

I guess this is going to be rather close to a Coffee Prince: The High School Years, because the ramyun shop in question will be operated by six high school flower boys, while Lee Ki-woo plays the ramyun chef. Lee Chung-ah (Pumpkin Flower Soon-jung) gets to be the lucky noona who manages the shop and gets caught between the two leading man-boys. I hope literally.

I know it can seem a little weird for a romance to center around a hero and heroine with such an age gap; if he’s in his last year of high school, he’s 19 or 20, while she’s described as a 25-year-old university student. However, it looks like tvN is really making a push for the teen market with its “Oh Boy” series, which makes it like a Korean version of the CW network.

Generally speaking, Korean dramas about high school have tended to be less about romance and more about coming-of-age stories, like I Am Sam, or part of family shows like High Kick. They might be lower-budget affairs on education-centered channels like EBS, such as with Lee Min-ho’s Secret Campus. So it’s something of an emerging market to target trendy romances toward the school-age set, and one that I hope succeeds, since I am all about the teen romances.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop will be a 16-episode drama premiering on October 31.

Lee Chung-ah at Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’s teaser shoot

ramyun3.jpg

I know I’ve done my share of squealing over Jung Il-woo (49 Days), hero of the new tvN romantic comedy Flower Boy Ramyun Shop…and yes, maybe more than my share, at that. But I’m not forgetting the heroine, played by the funny and talented Lee Chung-ah (Accidental Couple, Pure Pumpkin Flower), who looks downright adorable in these photos taken from the set of the drama’s teaser shoot.

In the drama, Lee Chung-ah plays a former volleyball player and current gym class student teacher at a high school, which is a bit of a tweak from earlier descriptions. (Perhaps the character was modified, or perhaps the initial reports were just vague.) Somehow, she ends up running a ramyun shop alongside her high-school-chaebol hero (Jung Il-woo), falls into a love triangle with him and her talented chef (Lee Ki-woo), and manages the staff of high school pretty boys.

Not a bad life, eh? The setup is just rife with potential for inappropriate crushes, hilariously awkward moments between (student) teacher and student(s), and adorable characters. It sounds like a hoot.

Lee said of her role, “I chose this drama because the character is so appealing, but now I’ve totally fallen for the charm of my fellow actors. It makes me think of when I filmed the movie Temptation of Wolves, and it makes me want to reappear as that character in Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. I hope you’ll look forward to it.”

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop premieres on October 31.
