Actress Jun Ji Hyun kicked off a new start with Alexander McQueen.

Recently, British luxury brand Alexander McQueen informed, "By choosing Jun Ji Hyun as our first brand ambassador in Korea, we will demonstrate the unique value of Alexander McQueen - a brand of creative vision and uncompromising craftsmanship." 

In the attached photo, Jun Ji Hyun has affirmed her fit with the brand's image when stylishly donning an outfit in Alexander McQueen's Free Collection 2020 F/W. Besides, she also chose a Jewel Satchel handbag, the iconic design of this brand.

After becoming the house ambassador of the British luxury brand Alexander McQueen, Jun Ji Hyun has flaunted her flawless appearance when working with the W Korea fashion magazine.

 

In this pictorial series, Jun Ji Hyun shows the image reminiscent of a black swan as she is clad in a black tulle dress from the Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter collection 2020. Jun Ji Hyun will join hands with writer Kim Eun Hee to showcase Netflix’s Kingdom: Asin, the supplementary story to the original series of Kingdom.

Kingdom: Asin tells a separate story from the Kingdom Season 1 and 2. The main story is expected to revolve around the Asin, an unknown figure and character played by Jun Ji Hyun, who appeared in the ending scene of Kingdon Season 2.

“Fans were curious about Asin, who appeared at the end of ‘Kingdom 2’,” an official from Kingdom said. “We will focus on showing how Asin survived and grew up in the days of the Joseon Dynasty when zombies were rampant.“

Jun Ji Hyun and writer Kim Eun Hee, who are already working together in a new drama, Mount Jiri (literal translation), are simultaneously working on the two works, exchanging many opinions. Director Kim Sung Hoon, who was in charge of directing Kingdom Season 1, will direct the upcoming story.

“The main actors who led ‘Kingdom Season 1 and 2’ cannot film ‘Kingdom Season 3’ due to scheduling issues, so the story where all of these characters appear together will only be available two to three years later,“ he added. “Naturally, ‘Kingdom: Asin’ will be introduced first.“

Kingdom: Asin, centered on Jun Ji Hyun, is known to focus on the process of finding the root of zombies. In addition to Asin’s story, there is a high possibility that the characters who have already died in season 1 and 2 will reappear, including Young Shin (Kim Sung Kyu).

Netflix Responds To Reports Of “Kingdom” Prequel Starring Jun Ji Hyun

Netflix’s “Kingdom” has responded to multiple reports of a potential prequel starring Jun Ji Hyun.

On July 20, Munhwa Ilbo reported that “Kingdom” was preparing to launch a new prequel starring Jun Ji Hyun, who made a surprise appearance at the end of season two. The report cited a source from “Kingdom” who claimed that the prequel would center around Jun Ji Hyun’s character Ah Shin and how she became a warrior, led by director Kim Sung Hoon.

The source stated, “It was difficult for the lead actors of the first two seasons of ‘Kingdom’ to immediately start filming for the third season due to scheduling conflicts, so the continuation of their story after season two will probably come in two or three years.” They added, “We will first be bringing the prequel story, where Jun Ji Hyun will be joined by a mostly-new cast of characters.”

A different report by Star News claimed that the prequel would be a 70-minute short film and they were in the final stages of discussions. They also reported that filming is set to begin in October for the prequel.

In response to these reports, a source from Netflix stated, “Nothing has been decided yet on future plans for ‘Kingdom’ There’s nothing we can confirm as of now, including the lead actors, screenwriter, or director. It hasn’t even been decided whether there will be a prequel or not.”

Gianna JUN Reportedly in Talks for KINGDOM Prequel

PARK Byung-eun to Co-Star in Unconfirmed Project

Reports have surfaced that Gianna JUN may be headlining a prequel to the hit Netflix series Kingdom. The My Sassy Girl (2001) star previously appeared at the end of season two in a cameo role. The same sources suggest that PARK Byung-eun has also been approached to appear in the project.

Kingdom, which was developed by hit TV writer KIM Eun-hee (Signal), debuted on Netflix in early 2019, as the first Korean Netflix Original that was fully developed by the streaming giant. The show takes place during the Joseon Era which is suffering from the spread of a mysterious plague.

The series stars JU Ji-hoon (Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, 2017), BAE Doo-na (The Host, 2006) and RYU Seung-ryong (Extreme Job, 2019), and the first season was directed by hit filmmaker KIM Seong-hun (Tunnel, 2016). The show become a sensation around the world and was greenlit for a second season, which was directed by PARK In-jae (Moby RickRoll'D, 2011), though the season opener was once again helmed by KIM Seong-hun, and bowed in March of this year. 

JUN appeared briefly at the end of season 2 in a cameo role as a new warrior character named Asin. This character will reportedly be the focus of ‘Kingdom: Asin’, which has been described as a prequel to the main Kingdom storyline. Some sources suggest the project will take the form of a special 70-minute streaming film and will find director KIM Seong-hun return to the director’s chair when production kicks off in October. KIM was supposed to be shooting a kidnap thriller called Pirap (Korean title) with his Tunnel star HA Jung-woo in the Middle East this year, but shooting has been postponed until 2021 owing to the COVID-19 Crisis. Netflix has so far not confirmed any reports surrounding this event project.

PARK Byung-eun, recently seen in The Great Battle (2018) and Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage (2019), is said to be reprising his role from Season 2 of the show in the new prequel project.

Meanwhile the third season of Kingdom has yet to go into production owing to the difficulty of reuniting all the stars, who each have complicated schedules.

Actor Park Byung-eun who played Jeon Ji-hyun's fiance in the 2015 film, Assassination, was on MBC talk show, Golden Fishery Radio Star, recently, and he talked about his first encounter with JJH on the film set.

 

"The moment I saw Jeon Ji-hyun, I thought that I was in a fantasy movie. I was in the same dressing room with Jeon Ji-hyun, and I kept thinking that this can't be right. She was washing fruit, and I kept to myself on the other side of the dressing room. I was really nervous. Then Jeon Ji-hyun said to me 'Try the grapes'. At the time I did not know if she was talking to me. I thought that she was asking Oh Dal-soo or Ha Jung-woo."

What he didn't mention in Golden Fishery was that JJH called him "Oppa" when she offered the grapes in the dressing room. He was confused. Jeon Ji-hyun truly seems to defy time, as she continues to look ever so youthful as a mother of two in her late 30s. With her beauty transcending time and fashion, she has been emulated by many.

At a press event for her TV series "Legend of the Blue Sea" in November 2016 Jeon appeared in a white layered lace dress and navy tuxedo-style jacket, which could look unmatched, but she was just strikingly glamorous in them.

At a press junket for the 2013 megahit TV series "My Love from the Star," Jeon looked gorgeous in a white lace mini dress with red high heels.

Even in outdoor clothes like padded jackets, she cannot hide her versatile fashion sense. Jeon is modeling for outdoor brand Nepa for the seventh year now.

On her wedding day in 2012 Jeon looked like a goddess in an A-line white dress and sparkly see-through bolero donned with crystals.

Highly Anticipated upcoming Korean drama ‘Mount Jiri’ gets on its first voyage today. And it marks the beginning of the eight month journey of the production team!

 

The first script reading of ‘Mount Jiri’ held on September 9. The atmosphere was very friendly as open minded writer Kim Eun-hee allowed the actors to walk freely to absorb their characters. One anonymous actor who participated in the script reading pointed out, “I had to immerse myself into script reading because the writing style of Kim Eun-hee was so attractive."

 

First filming of ‘Mount Jiri’ was initially scheduled on September 18, but got postponed for a day for unknown reasons. 

So at last, the shooting of ‘Mount Jiri’ started today. One production crew confirmed it by saying,” Today (on August 18), filming of the first lot has begun. The safety of the actors and crews will be our first priority, and we will do our best to have a good start.”
