Ok-hwa (Choi Jin-sil, Star in My Heart) is a North Korean living in Shanghai who leaves her brother and sister in China to work in Korea for Nam-ki's (Kim Gyoo-cheol, Bad Family) company. On her last night in Shanghai, she coincidentally saves Ki-won (Ryoo Si-won, Wedding), Nam-ki's nephew, from an embarrassing situation. Ki-won would like to forget the encounter, but, to his (and his mother's) dismay, keeps running into Ok-hwa in Korea.

Ki-won's parents are well-off, but his widowed aunt (Kim Hye-ja, Goong) is not. The aunt has two children, twins Mi-jin (Park Jin-hee, War of Money) and her brother Soo-jin (Kim Tae-hyeon, Snow Queen). Next-door girl Bong-sook (Oh Seung-hyeon, Snow White) wants to date Soo-jin, while Mi-jin has a crush on fellow student Min-seok (Lee Seo-jin, Lovers). The latter, however, is also befriended by Hae-won (Park Ye-jin, What Happened in Bali), Ki-won's cello-playing sister (and, consequently, Mi-jin's cousin). Min-seok has a cranky grandmother (Kim Yeong-ok, Coffee Prince) whose maids keep quitting.

There is a batch torrent file at D-Addicts. The quality is LQ (~325MB per episode, though). There are hard subtitles in both Chinese and English. The English ones are not bad, but, unfortunately, the Korean names seem to have been back-"translated" from Chinese (Ki-won's name appears as Qiyuan, and so on).

I like this drama very much. It's long, and there are quite a lot of characters and side stories. However, the pace is not draggy and nothing feels like it was done just to take up time. Choi Jin-sil is adorable as the spunky lady with the funny (North Korean?) accent, while Ryoo Si-won is surprisingly good in a comedic role.

yes it's true it's an enjoyable drama. I like this drama alot and i think ryu si won was really so cute and adorable in this drama. I like him here most of all I 'm one of his fans too. Choi jin sil was cute too. She's really a good actress. It's worth to watch this drama there're many actresses and actors in this family drama,one of the actress is now played in war of the money with park shin yang and also lee seo jin. Give yourself a try if you still hesitate !

Around E20, there is a female character who, strangely enough, thinks Kim Gyoo-cheol

looks like Takeshi Kaneshiro, the Japanese-Chinese actor . However, I can't hear TK's name being mentioned in the Korean dialogue. Indeed, I think the original comparison refers to a Korean actor, who, however, wouldn't be well-known in Singapore where (I guess) the subtitles were made. TK would, so his name was used instead.

Can anyone say whose name is mentioned in the Korean dialogue?

The version I watched had 50 episodes, but the number is odd. MBC's Korean-language website seems to think it should be 47, whereas DramaWiki says 48.

I wonder about the length of the episodes - usually between 40 and 50minutes, with a few over 50 and some as short as under 40. I'm used to KDrama episodes lasting about 60 minutes. Well, the 70 episodes on my Dae Jang Geum DVD's (from Malaysia) are about 45 minutes, but that just seems to be what you get out of 54 original episodes of about 60 minutes each. I presume 45-minute episodes were shown in Malaysia?

Another previous experience of a KDrama with 45-minute episodes was Modern Housewives. But I believe that, even in this case, the episodes were originally 60 minutes. For airing in the US, they were simply shortened to 45, so the rest of a 60-minute time slot could be used for commercials. These - massive, to say the least - cuts meant that it was very hard to keep up with the plot. That doesn't seem to be the case with Since I Met You, that is, with the as-aired-in-Singapore version I am talking about.

So - how long were the original episodes? As aired in Korea?

I just started watching this drama even if it's quite old already but the story is nice and what I miss whenever an MBC Weekend drama airs, Choi Jin-shil was really a big loss to the K-drama world I must say...she is really good whenever she appeared on weekend drama/family dramas...anyway liked the love-hate story between Okhwa and Ki-won and it's also nice to see the love triangle between Lee Seo-jin, Park Jin-hee and Park Ye-jin, they were really young in this drama...I have some stills from the drama that I will post here, I might continue posting pics if ever there is a request for it..
