I think there are no VCDs or DVDs of this drama with English subtitles ... I only found versions with Chinese Subtitles in YesAsia.com ... I also have the version with only Chinese subtitles, its a pity that I can't share this drama with my friends who don't understand the subtitles ... so i started some subbing of the show but still have not completed Episode 1 because Green Rose came in to my favourites and took away all my attention . However, I'll try to do the subbings if I have the time.

I actually even have the Korean Novel of this show that was one of the Best-Sellers in Korea, but I don't know why this drama is not much promoted - its actually very well filmed and acted. The OST is also quite good - maybe it wasn't popular because the stars are not that known, but in my opinion it was a very good show.

I would really like to share this drama with more people but I don't know the technical sides and ways to upload the drama file ... maybe, can someone who own Clubbox help me out with this ... please! Thanx a million!!

Episode 1

Scene 1 (00.00-02:10)

Jung Min Sook is singing on stage and gangsters walking into a pub and enters a room.

Voice From Background: Quick … come here.

Heuk Kum: Who do you think you are?

Cho Duk Jae: I’m a sailor by the sea … coming here to takeover!!!

Heuk Kum Gangster Member: What do you think you are you rascal.

Gangsters walk out from room.

Cho Duk Jae Gangster Member: You rascal … on your knees.

Heuk Kum: You want to die here?

Cho Duk Jae: From now onwards this is my home … there shall be no bloodshed.

Scene 4 (03.24-05:20)

Fighting scene at pub.

Cho Duk Jae: Enough! I don’t want to have blood in my house. You … kneel down.

Heuk Kum Gangster Member: Elder brother! (trying to stop Heuk Kum from kneeling down)

Kwon Hyuk Soo enters the pub and fights off several rivals. Kwon Hyuk Soo stares at Cho Duk Jae and gets hit from the back from one of Cho Duk Jae’s followers. Heuk Kum saves Kwon Hyuk Soo. Police whistle are heard.

Cho Duk Jae: It’s the police.

Everybody runs off.

Park Sang Soo: Go and investigate.

Scene 5 (05.21-06:00)

Heuk Kum brings the injured Kwon Hyuk Soo into the ladies fitting room. Jung Min Sook who was also in the room looks on.

Heuk Kum: Wait a moment.

Kwon Hyuk Soo tries to stop the bleeding at his waist.

Jung Min Sook: Are you okay? Try to stand the pain.

Police: Check all the rooms inside properly … quick!

Scene 6 (06.01-06:07)

Shin Eun Hae waits for Kwon Hyuk Soo in the rain outside the library.

Scene 7 (06.08-07:40)

Park Sang Soo is in the ladies fitting room where Kwon Hyuk Soo is hiding. Jung Min Sook pretends that noting has happened.

Park Sang Soo: Can you please stand up.

Jung Min Sook stands up and tries to hide the tissues that are stained with blood by stepping on it. She then lights a cigarette. Park Sang Soo sees that there are blood stains on her hand. Park Sang Soo moves towards the closet and opens the door. He sees Kwon Hyuk Soo hiding the closet. He shuts the door when he hears that there are other police officers who are coming.

Park Sang Soo: There is nothing?

Police: Yes.

Park Sang Soo: There is also nothing here. Don’t hang around, go and investigate elsewhere,

Police: Yes sir.

Park Sang Soo stairs at Jung Min Sook. Kwon Hyuk Soo comes out from the closet and walks out from the room.

Scene 8 (07.41-08:35)

Kwon Hyuk Soo drives in the rain. He withstands the pain that he is suffering from his wound. He sees Shin Eun Hae standing in the rain waiting for him.

Scene 9 (08.36-10:42)

Kwon Hyuk Soo cycling to school along a road by the sea. A school bus comes along the way and honks.

School girls: Its elder brother … its elder brother. Hello elder brother. You are fantastic! (shouting excitedly at the window)

Shin Eun Hae is sitting by the bus window while Kwon Hyuk Soo looks at her while cycling.

The bus stops and Shin Eun Hae gets off from the bus. Kwon Hyuk Soo who was cycling on the way passes her. He stopped to look at what she was going to do by the seaside but he went off after staring at her for a moment.

Shin Eun Hae looks at the sea and puts down her bag.

Scene 10 (10.43-10:59)

Kwon Hyuk Soo cycles to the school entrance. A motorcycle gang comes by to stop him. Kwon Hyuk Soo sees that it is Cho Duk Jae who gave him a grin.

The Cho Duk Jae gang cornered Kwon Hyuk Soo.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: What do all of you expect from me?

Cho Duk Jae: Fight in school.

Kwon Hyuk Soo stares at Cho Duk Jae.

Cho Duk Jae: The two of us fighting again. I have already been expelled from school but nothing happened to you. (grin) If it is you wouldn’t you feel depressed?

Kwon Hyuk Soo: The person who fought that day is you. Now, don’t fight again.

Cho Duk Jae: That’s why … you don’t want to fight anymore. If it is so, you should voluntary leave school.

Cho Duk Jae kicks Kwon Hyuk Soo in the face.

Cho Duk Jae: You rascal. (laugh)

Fighting scene.

Shin Eun Hae burns her piano scores by the seaside.

Kwon Hyuk Soo gets hit by Cho Duk Jae and gang. Kwon Hyuk Soo does not retaliate at all.

Cho Duk Jae: Ha … you are not going to use your punch ever again? You want to be a punching bag isn’t it? I really can’t stand it anymore … you rascal.

Shin Eun Hae was passing by and she saw Kwon Hyuk Soo being beaten up by the gang.

Cho Duk Jae: You want to be a gangster like me … you rascal.

Whistle sound from the background.

Gang members: Let’s run.

Cho Duk Jae: You watch out! (while pointing at Kwon Hyuk Soo)

The gang rides the motorcycle away and disturbed Shin Eun Hae who was hiding behind a tree while they left. Shin Eun Hae fell to the ground and Kwon Hyuk Soo saw her.

I remember watching the first two episodes of this drama. I was really excited because the drama is based on a famous Korean novel, and AhnJaeMo was really popular at the time. I believe it was a big failure in Korea though. I thought it was reallllly boring, and the acting was bad. I stopped watching it.

The one thing I liked was the main song. It starts out like, "DAHN DAHN DAHN.. DAHHN!!!!"

Kwon Hyuk Soo is questioned by his teacher at school.

Teacher 1: Why did you meet Cho Duk Jae again? You have nothing better to do? The university examination is around the corner. No … but you are … maybe you joined him again is it?

Kwon Hyuk Soo: No.

Teacher 1: No … but why are you not in school but spending your time with them? What is the reason? You can’t say it out here?

Another teacher comes by with a cane and points it at Kwon Hyuk Soo.

Teacher 2: Are you Third Year Senior student? Ask you to study you refuse to study. You bring along a girl student to learn bad things? Rascal … I am really confused and disappointed. I thought that you are a very good student … but if you said that you date because the weather is good. But it seems like they came to fight. Here … because the both of you are still studying I will let you go. Is this the way the both of you spend your time?

Kwon Hyuk Soo and Shin Eun Hae stares at each other. Suddenly, Shin Eun Hae walks forward to Teacher 2.

Shin Eun Hae: There are no misunderstandings here. He did that to protect me.

Teacher 2: True … it’s so heroic … so heroic!! What have you done right?

Shin Eun Hae smiles back at Kwon Hyuk Soo.

Kwon Hyuk Soo standing at the school garden ad meets with Shin Eun Hae.

Kwon Hyuk Soo practicing boxing at the gym.

Kwon Hyuk Soo Friend 1: Hey … when will they be coming again? It’s because of me … those fellows don’t want to let you go.

Park Sang Soo who was practicing boxing at the ring turns round to tell Kwon Hyuk Soo.

Park Sang Soo : Hey … how can it be because of you? That fellow is terribly bad. It’s because he hit you first … was the situation like this when you fought with him?

Kwon Hyuk Soo stares back at Park Sang Soo. Park Sang Soo continues with his boxing.

Park Sang Soo : Come on.

Kwon Hyuk Soo Friend 2: If you didn’t argue with the teacher then nothing will go wrong. Feel like cutting that teacher with a knife … anyway, the school does not want you to be expelled.

Kwon Hyuk Soo Friend 3: True … because of that sort of teacher lots of our hair are falling. Said that you don’t need to wash the toilet.

Kwon Hyuk Soo : Oh … that’s because the ALIBI is strong.

Kwon Hyuk Soo Friend 1: Is that girl pretty?

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Ah … just normal.

Park Sang Soo: This rascal … your expectations are quite high.

Park Sang Soo hit Kwon Hyuk Soo Friend 2 as a buddy and asked him …

A school girl by the name of Mi Sun who is an admirer of Kwon Hyuk Soo enters the gym.

Mi Sun tried to wipe his bruised face but he pushes her hand away angrily.

Kwon Hyuk Soo’s friends are helping themselves to the food that the girl brought. She moves over to stop them from eating.

Mi Sun: No … these are for elder brother Hyuk Soo.

Kwon Hyuk Soo runs away from the gym and the girl saw him getting away.

One of Kwon Hyuk Soo’s friends purposely made her trip as she try to chase Kwon Hyuk Soo.

The girl gets up and continues chasing Kwon Hyuk Soo.

Kwon Hyuk Soo happily riding on a bicycle. He sees his father coming out from a hospital with a lady that he does not know.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Is she a career woman or a housewife? Although other people don’t say anything say anything … do you have to take care of them? You need to work and support your child … its not easy … you’ll get tired easily.

Kwon Hyuk Soo’s father looks at him.

Shin Eun Hae at the library looking for books. She founds the book that she wants and removes it from the rack. Kwon Hyuk Soo was at the opposite side of the rack. They saw each other through the rack. She was surprised and he smiles back at her.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Spirit of the library.

Kwon Hyuk Soo walks over to her side.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: You know about the spirit of the library, don’t you? If the eyes of a girl and a boy stare at each other at the library …

A voice from the background …

Mi Sun: Elder brother …

Kwon Hyuk Soo hears the voice and pushes Shin Eun Hae with him.

Mi Sun: Elder brother Hyuk Soo … they said he came to the library.

Kwon Hyuk Soo sees Mi Sun and hides away at the corner with Shin Eun Hae.

Shin Eun Hae smiles and walk away but was pulled by Mi Sun.

Mi Sun: You’re not answering? If you dare tempt elder brother Hyuk Soo ever again I won’t let you go.

Shin Eun Hae: Take your hands off me!

Mi Sun: If I don’t let go?

Shin Eun Hae pushes Mi Sun on to the ground.

Mi Sun: Elder brother … that girl pushed my head all of a sudden.

Kwon Hyuk Soo pushes Mi Sun away and chases after Shin Eun Hae.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Haven’t I told you before. If you listened when I told you this wouldn’t have happened. Anyhow … you aren’t that weak either. You were very fierce. Hey … your clothes at the back have already torn.

Shin Eun Hae stops and saw that her sleeve is torn. Kwon Hyuk Soo laughs as he sees her surprised look.

Scene 21 (22.16-24:38)

Kwon Hyuk Soo and Shin Eun Hae at the garden. Kwon Hyuk Soo helps Shin Eun Hae mend back her torn sleeve.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Even your flesh is coming out. You should go on a diet. You’re not bothered about it now (asking cheekily)? Because getting strangled while mending the clothes is a very funny way of dying. Ah … can’t do it anymore. Its better you take a deep breath.

Shin Eun Hae burst out in laughs.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Hey … stop laughing … it’s tearing again. Stop moving.

Shin Eun Hae: At that time, why didn’t you defend and attack back when you were beaten up? You don’t know how to fight?

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Because I’m too good at fighting … I almost got expelled. It’s a thing of the past.

Shin Eun Hae: That is …

Scene 23 (24.48-25:24)

Kwon Hyuk Soo cycling back from the market. He sees Shin Eun Hae approaching a cake shop. He stops his bicycle and walks over.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: I often meet you. Even on Sundays I meet you.

Shin Eun Hae does not bother about him.

Kwon Hyuk Soo: Ah … pretending that you don’t know me.

Kwon Hyuk Soo finally had a better life and Shin Eun Hae manage to release herself from all the sufferrings. They truly loved each other until the end.

All the bad vilan characters died. Kwon Hyuk Soo and Shin Eun Hae finally had peace.

Sad

Shin Eun Hae accidently killed her husband Jung Chul Min in defense because she was brutally and ill treated by him. Kwon Huk Soo comes to the crime scene shortly after the incident. There were only two of them at the crime scene, Kwon Hyuk Soo then negotiated with Shin Eun Hae that he will protect her and he would admit the crime and go to jail for her. Kwon Hyuk Soo by gangster means manage to escape from being caught by the police while Shin Eun Hae stays under the protection of Hak Keum. Shin Eun Hae felt anxious and worried about Kwon Huk Soo that suffer so much for her. She wanted to meet him so much when police were hunting for him. The police finally found him. Shim Eun Hae finally get to see Kwon Hyuk Soo from a far while he was handcuffed and pulled to the police car. She ran across the road towards Kwon Hyuk Soo direction without looking at the traffic and she was hit by a lorry right before Kwon Hyuk Soo. She died tragically. No matter what, Kwon Hyuk Soo was arrested for the murder case and still persistantly admitted that he was the killer because he didn't want Shin Eun Hae to bare the crime. At the end, Hak Keum became Kwon Hyuk Soo's witness and alibi and he was announced not guilty. The last part shows Kwon Hyuk Soo going to the sea side where he ate the cake with Shin Eun Hae in the first episode. He met a girl dressed in white ... she was Shin Eun Hae. He gave her the necklace that he bought for her earlier but she don't seem to remember anything and walked away with a smile. At the end, it was only his imagination of Shin Eun Hae and he set alone by the sea side.

The story in the TV series is a little bit different from the version in the book. The TV version is dramatic and tragic however the version in the book has a different ending that is less tragic ... however, the characters who died seem to be different in both versions.

The books are in Korean but i think there is a Chinese version ... however i bought the Korean version to learn the language and the dialogues ... although im still a beginner in learning the Korean language but i really enjoy the language used in the book ... a bit of the poetic type and touching.
