News article that gave an update on the 2nd series: http://www.chinatimes.com/realtimenews/20160809008438-260404
To sum up the important stuff, the script for the spinoff/2nd season is still being written (by the same writer :D) so whether all the original actors will be present in the spinoff is still uncertain. But for sure, Prince Jing will have a part in it. An official press release/announcement will be made when the script is done and things are more certain.

This is a pretty good drama! The plot is tightly packed, especially the later half! The production value is of super high caliber. It's the same crew as Nirvana in Fire so that's definitely a plus, with some of the same actors and actresses!! Normally these types of drama (this particular time period), isn't my cup of tea, but once things started after Hu Ge's character finished his training, things started to pick up and got more intense. Ming family interactions are fun and provide much comic relief to the serious atmosphere. The three Ming brothers and sister are great!
Would recommend this if you liked Nirvana in Fire for the cast and crew and the layers and layers of hidden identities XD

Really love this drama.
Can anyone recommend any similar dramas? Wuxia drama that are heavily political?
Not a wuxia drama, but a drama with many overlapping cast members as Nirvana in Fire: The Disguiser. They are amazing actors/actresses! It's also heavily political, but during the 1930s-ish. It starts out slow, but definitely worth following through and watching the entire series! Check it out if you haven't yet

Recently just finished watching this! Here's an unofficial fan made cut ending. Just thought I'd share it here for people who didn't know about it! Enjoy!
I'm not sure which is better, but the impact of the official ending was definitely much stronger for me than this one. I guess this can be a personal preference type of thing.
