Although I am happy when SMJ walked in announcing he is the King, now that I have saw the preview I am not happy at all.

I was wishing for a coronation filled with awe and blessings from the officials and Hwarangs.

IKR !! But, I sort of knew that no one would be as welcoming to see SMJ take the throne. Basically, no one wants to see him being the KING ! How can I now not feel for SMJ ? He needs support and people say he has no self-confidence. Look at the number of his detractors!!

Dan Sae went to find SW who is practicing wooden sword, claiming he has something to say to him. Is the poison to kill SW???

Yes, it is. He spread his sword with poison. He ask for a sparring with SW. SW is shocked by his aggressiveness.

I'm not liking where this is heading....omo..omo... And  then ..HS !..I just don't want to say it aloud.....but those K-netz predictions....aigooo:o

Continue from last episode. Queen is telling AR that she will make her a Wonhwa and something about dying, maybe talking about the fate of previous Wonhwa. AR is in tears. SW is running to the see Master HK.

Master HK told SW that (I think) queen is sacrificing the Wonhwa just like what used to happen to the previous. When SW ask him if there's any way to save AR, HK said he will have to be the king. SW agrees. HK told him that his father is still alive.

HK : "You are my son. I am your father"

    SW is shocked.

HA !! We all knew it !! Finallyyyy....

    Chinguya...for the recaps

We all go through that phase of life when we were less attractive, don't we? He lose some weight and has established his own personal style by now. I still think he is cute and naive in "Real Men"

I skipped most parts of High Society, interested only watching Hyung Sik's scenes. As I have ever mentioned in Hwarang's thread, I am uncomfortable watching him being partnered with Im Ji Yeon because of her adult's performance in the movie "Obsessed" where she starred alongside Song Seung Heon. Watching her getting cozy with the innocent Hyung Sik does not sit well with me, so no, I totally could not ship them.

For the most part, I feel Go Ara herself finding it difficult to project out the right expression of her character rejecting SMJ's advances. That is why for the most part, I find that she frowns a lot just to give the vibe that she isn't interested. Their courtship actually one of the highlights that I love about Hwarang in the first place but once Aro went fully onboard with her romance with Sun Woo, I totally lose interest in the romance element of this drama because the romance between the main OTP does not feel organic at all.

As for "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon"....actually I am more interested to watch him seducing Ji Soo that gave his character the impression that Hyung Shik's character is interested in him.

ME TOO !! I'm so sure I'll be cracking a rib or two while laughing loud at those scenes !! And add to that the adorable PBY ...devil-laugh-leaf-emoticon.gif

    Btw about wonhwa

groups of beautiful girls were chosen and taught filial and fraternal piety, loyalty, and sincerity. However, the leaders of the two bands of Wonhwa, Nammo (南毛) and Junjeong (俊貞), grew jealous of one another, and the groups were disbanded when Junjeong murdered her rival.

    This is before hwarang

THIS !! EXACTLY !! this is what I was thinking. I know it's just a wishful thinking but hope the writer uses this fact of history in scripting whatever back story is portrayed in the drama concerning the Queen and that woman.

Finally, Queen has flashback of herself pointing a sword at a Wonhwa (judging by the red dress). She kills the woman while crying. (Maybe SW's mother?)

SMJ runs to SW and inform him of AR's disappearance.

AR is in the palace. Queen is very agitated and screaming at AR. She will make AR a Wonhwa.

    The END.

YES ! It could be ! Didn't Master HK in a fit of anger said something about the Queen being responsible for the death of her own friend. Isn't Wonhwa also harbours a somewhat adherence of sisterhood ( like how Hwarang reflects on brotherhood among warriors) , where these women form a trust bond in guarding Silla ? Oh...now this drama gets interesting when it gets closer to the finale....HAHAHAHA....

    Thanks again chinguya :)

  8. chingudeul !!N1Hello.gif Here's a newly minted PHS paen imnida ! It is funny how one drama changes everything on how you perceive an actor. Ofcourse, it is the hard work and discipline that brings in the desired result. I have been viewing PHS in K-dramas since the time, he would be making cameos as a rookie actor. PHS certainly had humble beginnings when it came to landing roles in the drama world. I've seen PHS in every damn drama he has acted in, right from his mere cameo in Gloria (2010) till his first full fledged lead (one of the lead) role in 'High Society' . PHS was always the cute boyish face that I saw in dramas, never thought I would adore him as a  actor per se. But, it was in Hwarang that I re-discovered PHS as an ACTOR for the first time and took noticed of his acting ability, and did he blew me away with his portrayal of SMJ !!  I can't wait for Strong woman DBS to start soon !! Meanwhile, I'm re-watching What's Happens to My family only for PHS and his cutest chemistry with Nam Ji Hyun. :D

Aigoo....PHS! !!....not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be commenting in your fan page forum!!17svese.gif

  9.  Honestly speaking , I knew that KES may not show ET marrying ( the 'bride' reference) KS per se. Firstly , KS was an immortal soul trapped in a body awaiting his release to salvation. Also, the fact that while ET would grow old, KS would never do so.  And, secondly, even if ET lives among immortals and is a major part of their (KS & GR) lives , she still lives the life of a mortal. A factual life involving her going to University and later on a job and matrimony. So , I reckon , ET in her life of happiness as a mortal , will end up marrying the reincarnated soul of KS, for she is indeed fated to be the 'Goblin's bride '. For it is said , that no two identical souls can survive in one lifetime. So, for the other to survive, one has to die, thus KS evaporating into ashes. Why do I feel that KS's love for her will save her from her death risk which hovers once again over ET when she will turn 29th. That's when she will meet KS for real and everlasting. . As for  Sunny and GR too. I'm really looking forward for their happy ending too. I hope KES does give them a beautiful end or rather beginning to their love story. Aigoo....that's what I hope as I'm optimisticall predicting here:)

@kris27 chinguya, Yes !! That Letter !!! How did I forget about it ? That could be one of the deciding clues to ET and KS reunion.

  10. The CEO that ET meets at that Quebec restaurant is none other than Kim Shin reincarnated. ET and KS are meant to be together, that's why she was fated to be the Goblin's Bride. Remember how this show tells us that human beings are always reincarnated in some way. I think KS's reincarnated soul is somewhere thriving around, and all we saw was an old soul trapped in an cursed body depart. I KNOW there will be a happy ending after all. The 'Destin' pendant says it all !:)

Okay, all this is a hypothesis from my part. Tomorrow, we will discover if I was right about it. I guess, when the king chose her as his Queen, he wanted to make KS stronger so that he would have a strong ally to back him up against the other royal members. But KS' success became a hindrance... in the sense, the king's enemies (evil minister with his own agenda) used KS' fame to discredit the king's reputation. So the king's plan took the wrong turn that the king hadn't seen coming. He thought, if KS is successful and become powerful, he will have a good supporter but instead, they started saying that KS was trying to overthrow the king! The king couldn't stop the rumours circulating!!

When the king died, he wasn't offered the tea ceremony because he had greatly sinned. He had to live in "hell" by remembering his wrongdoings and regretting his decisions. The memories caused great pain and he had to wait until God decides to give him a second chance as Grim reaper.

Exactly !! This is what I concluded from that  very scene in Epi #1 where  a heckled KS stands in front of the King and the Eunuch slyly whispers to the King as how the consecutive victories of KS was somehow making a "mockery" of the King and the throne , thus a future possibility of KS being hailed to be more important than the King himself. There was this narration in the background that said :- “He saw clearly his enemy’s sword, but he could not see the jealousy and fear of the young king, directed at him. That was the sharpest sword wielded at him, but he did not know it.” ( cr:- http://www.dramabeans.com/ )  I reckon, that was one of the major point of contention between KS and the King thus leading to mistrust and vengeance. But, all this still remains debatable.:)

  12. Annyeong !! Firstly , THANK YOU to all you wonderful peeps out here. You have no idea how all your posts have helped me during my recent travels, as I was not able to watch the weekly episodes !! Jeongmal gomawo uri jjang chingudeul funnygifsbox.com_2016-10-04_17-54-45-1.g

@bebebisous33  Chinguya( how do you manage to pen every post that I agree upon…HAHAHAHA), reading mostly all of your analytic posts made me think of this very quote –(“There is no place for selfishness and no place for fear! Do not be afraid when love makes demands. Do not be afraid when love requires sacrifice.” Saint John Paul II ). The word “love” is the most complicated tangle in human emotions coz’  the very sentiment of  ‘love’ gives birth to an array of   emerging emotions of  egotism , envy, altruism ,rage, sadness and so on….. And, that is  exactly what most of the characters in Goblin are going through. The GR is yet to regain his memories and once he remembers his past  ,GR too, will be immersed in conflicts of emotional upheaval. I reckon, my initial inference of Goblin being   a culmination of the eventual peace and harmony takes a  backstage and all and every ounce of  that fragment is achieved only and only by the sentiment of ‘LOVE’ and what ‘Love’ ask for in it's utmost reckoning – ‘SACRIFICE’. It is said that ‘God who is ‘Love’ in itself, gave or rather sacrificed his only son for the good of humanity. Humans in turn , when it comes to ‘self-sacrifice’ weigh the outcome of their own mortality , their immense  fear of losing everything that is dear to them , their very own happiness. Thus, when it comes to the notion of “self- sacrifice’ at times the weightage of the very “self” outweighs” the nobility of ‘sacrifice”. I reckon , that is what the Samshin halmoni is trying to convey in her words to Goblin, that the price of  Love  at times comes in the greatness of sacrifice. It is always said in terms of spirituality, religious sanctity and even in finding the path to salvation, that self- sacrifice is the  highest indicator of a dedicated LOVE. ( Love that can be anything, parental, spousal, romantic, humanity….. irrespective to its form, the essence of “true and pure” love is what beckon the true path to one’s salvation)

This takes me to the point you made about KS’s selfishness when he was the Goryeo General. You are spot on with that inference. Right from the time he entered the palace gates undeterred, even though all his army men along with nearby civilian were brutally slashed to the time when the then Queen told him to march towards the King and not worry about her ‘fate”, KS’s demeanour equated to the exact definition of him being an Army General, just move forward to your destination in a battle zone come what may. But, then when KS views further massacre of  his people, their innocence being a prey to his own predicament, KS kneels down and thus the whole sacrificing of his own life by allowing his second in command to pierce KS with the sword. And, in the current situation with ET , KS is wavering with the same dilemma. The quandary of his own "self"  over the fate of ET and in turn the fate of both of them in search of happiness.

I guess, what we have seen till now is just the surface of the entire puzzle. KS’s path to salvation is even more trickier and deeper than even KS thinks it is.

    1. [+783, -20] The waiter can see the future.. but why is he still working at the same restaurant 10 years later?

    3. [+687, -17] Ji Eun Tak can't see the future but the waiter can see him next to Eun Tak

so kim shin actually see the waiter's future not ET's futureee... wooaahhh is that right tho?

Yeah,.... I guess so !! I replayed that particular scene twice over to understand why that same waiter featured twice in KS's time space. I reckon that KS actually saw the waiter's future. I still think that KS can't see into ET's future. That's why KS was a bit baffled to what he saw in that restaurant and thus cried with sadness over the possible/probable future.

  14. @LyraYoo Chinguya, can we make a  Poll for it? I tried making one but could not get it posted here :(

I like 'Guardians' ( since we also have a 'shape-shifter Granny' and a 'shaman' ( who Sunny goes for consultation) and more reincarnations are bound to come along the way, they all become sort of  demi-gods ,keepers, chaperones and defenders of "peace and love"  )

  17. For a girl (Eun-tak) who has seen nothing but pain and agony  after her 9th birthday and have only the company of "ghouls/ghosts" for herself, would have never in her most strangest dream ever thought that two immortals ( not to mention  two exquisitely gorgeous men) would come to her rescue in the darkest of the night.:D:wub:

    giphy.gif

I'm really really liking how the plot is strewn  with pieces of puzzles waiting to pieced together. The biggest picture of it all is irrespective to one being  either immortals or mortals thriving in any dimensions either spiritually or worldly, at the end of it all what is really pursued is peace and harmony. Be it heavenly or earthly soul , all it desires is true peace to rest in its tranquil eternity.

This drama just keeps on amazing me !!66.gif66.gif
