  1. I'm gonna comment on what you responded to lumiyooni as well.

I meant the shop owner is from japan! =O='' i wasnt tryna say that just kos its from Japan its more "lolita" =O= my bad HAHA She says it IS form of lolita just not as extreme  ~

Not every person in Japan knows what lolita is--not to mention what real lolita is.

You said it yourself, "shop owner". Shop owners say whatever to sell.

&i DO know what lolita is =O= im farking making a website of in for college okay =O='' &I KNOW just kos its from Japan doesnt mean its auto. a lolita. im not stupid you know --"

One thing that irks me is that the dress has no straps (not that I see any in the picture). Lolita is a rather conservative fashion so to speak. Almost all lolita dresses have some sort of straps, whether it's spaghetti, halter, whatever. The strapless look isn't convincing at all. The shape of the dress doesn't really look that right either. I'm not going to comment too much about this since I can't really tell by your picture. I'm not trying to say that everything on that dress is absolutely horrible. I actually like the print at the bottom. I'd say it could work if the lace was better and straps were added.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but making a website on a certain subject does not necessarily mean you're totally familiar with it.

And I never said you were stupid. I just wanted to correct you that the dress you bought is not lolita. Sure, it could be lolita inspired, but definitely not real lolita. So, calm down.

  2. *cough* that's what you get for not looking at the picture ._.

    What..do you mean '-'

OMG WOMANNNN.. WHY DID YOU MAKE OUR PICS SO BIG?! can't you cover up my face or blur it or something X_X!!

anyways =3= here's my friend's black dress... a better view of it. haha.

i wore that for halloween and my teacher thought i was a maid T3T...

she said she needed a new maid.. and asked if i was interested in the job =.="

i told her i was a doll... since she probably wouldn't know what a lolita was XD

What's with the straps (?) in the first picture o_O

It looks too cosplay IMO. The back is too low!

  3. Lol you guys, calm down. XD

I read up on it and I asked my friend beside just being Lolita there's different versions of it, mine is kuro-loli, her's is ero-loli, we also had some one do shiro-loli. Shiro-loli is the one you guys most commonly see.

The girl at the Kon, explained it because mine is Kuro (Also black in japanese), because mine is gothic, all black, long skirt and barely any skin showing.

My friends is ero-loli (erotic) because her skirt length was above the knee, and not like mine floor length.

Shiro-loli (Sweet), is the one where it's the pink frills, I had a friend who wore it. He wore my out fit which was pink with a petticoat, long knee high white stockings and the dress was pink with a corset and white heels.

There's more than one version of lolita. smile.gif

I can't really see your full outfit, but from what is shown in the picture I can say that your top isn't very lolitaish. The low v-neck cut is very.. =X

As for your friend..... short skirt length doesn't exactly mean erololi right away. Shiny material (satin) is not lolita at all.

Kurololi isn't necessarily long skirt with barely any skin showing. It's categorized as kurololi as long as it's all black. I think you/the girl at the convention got mixed up with aristocrat. lol

Shirololi is sweet lolita but it's more specific than that. Shiro means white. Therefore shirololi means "white lolita" basically. Similar to kurololi, shirololi dresses in all white from head to toe. But whereas sweet lolita involves all sweet prints, pastel colours, and give off the cutesy look. Yes shirololi can be sweet but you cannot call sweet lolita "shirololi".

Yes, there are different styles of lolita. Sweet, white, black, gothic (black&white), classic, country, ero just to list some.

I think you only know about sweet lolita, there's other styles o.o

I don't think you can judge just by that. What yumexp said (about LaydeeMel's outfit) was correct.

  4. yes it is ~ i think i would know =O='' IM the one who bought it ~ &its from JAPAN aswell ok =O=

    It is not.

Compare the elements of real lolita clothing with the ones found in that dress you bought. I don't know if you really know how lolita is really like.

Also, just because it's from Japan it doesn't mean it makes it lolita automatically.

  5. ^That's not.. lolita >_<
