  1. Song Hae-rin (and Jung Eugene's portrayal of her) is now my favourite Korean drama character, and she will probably be my number 1 for a very long time. There is nothing I hate about her. She is not without flaw but she was well-writtten and Jung Eugene's acting was so consistent. And based on the preview of the finale, I will love her even more. I don't want to say goodbye to her yet. I wish her story will continue in another drama.  :)

I just wanted to say that before I post my final thoughts after episode 16.

  3. Thank you writer-nim for the fan service in episodes 11 and 12! @moomooz I agree with you on the screen time of the daughter. This is only a 16-hour drama so they get selective on the scenes they include in every episode, even if it's important in the whole arc but may not be needed in a particular episode. I am enjoying the drama too much and I have faith in writer-nim and PD-nim that I don't want to question anything.

My hopes in the final 4 episodes:

    1. Backstory of the book April 23, and what is it all about. (Just throwing out here one backstory I thought of - what if KDJ is CEH's stepfather and JS is the real son which KDJ knew of but never met and April 23 Book is his "love letter" to JS, and CEH knows about KDJ having a son, but doesn't know who, and kept it as a secret, wild!)

    2. KDY "I LOVE YOU" confession. Can you imagine what kind of reaction we will get from CEH when that finally happens? Or how red he will get?

    3. More SJ and HR interactions, please! Though it seems like HR will get another rejection (friendship rejection this time) but knowing her, she will not take NO for an answer.

    4. Ms Go to finally acknowledge that she needs friends like Ms Seo and KDY in her life. You can see in Ms Go's demeanor that she's very torn in terminating KDY's contract because she recognizes her accomplishments.

The only explanation I have got for Go's request to fire DY is that she wants to force DY to use her college degree. So far, she applied for that position because she only had a high school degree. In reality, she had more. Besides, she hid her work experience. For someone like Go whose career means a lot to her, she doesn't want DY to hide her real qualifications. She should be proud of her college degree and her work experience. So by firing her, Go might actually propose another position for DY which fits better her qualifications.

That's a very good explanation. And if that would be the case, it will not be totally out of character. It would be a very Ms Go approach. Thanks for that insight!

  5. My thoughts after episode 10 (or should I say CEH appreciation post):

    1. HR and SJ will make a very cute couple. Their bickering during their first official meeting with CEH was super cute. Even CEH, who's annoyed with SJ, noticed it too.

    2. CEH is an excellent sunbae. We already know that HR got an earful from CEH during her first year on the job and quit, and CEH begged her to come back. CEH's talk with JY was very inspiring. It was something also for all the newbie workers out there who don't have a full appreciation of their jobs yet.

    3. CEH is a writer and writer-nim did not fail in reminding us that. I mentioned before that his rejection of HR was not out of character and is very CEH, so was his poetic love confession to KDY.

    4. The timing of that kiss was perfect! Remember when CEH told his ex that he's waiting for the time when KDY finally reciprocates his feeling. Our boy was observant! He found a glimmer of hope when KDY did not take out the band-aid from her bag, because he thought she's distracted and was thinking of him. That cheeky smile during dinner says it all. He found a small window of opportunity, did not hold back and he took it!

    5. CEH's love confession was not done out of selfishness. He's pretty okay keeping his feelings to himself but as he said, she kept asking and he just couldn't lie anymore.

Which led me to the only question I would like to ask right now (but may only be answered in later episodes)... why he hasn't told KDY about KBJ? I'd like to think it was because he didn't want KDY to carry whatever burden that he is carrying. The same way that she didn't initially want to tell him about her divorce. But he did get her reassurance, while they were moon watching (after he supposedly visited KBJ), that she will give him the benefit of the doubt no matter what.

  6. I was on k-drama hiatus for more than a year so I can't compare this drama with recent ones.

But allow me to gush about how well the writing and editing and acting of episode 9 were. I will try to avoid giving out spoilers for those who haven't seen it.

    1. The indirect/direct love confession of Eun-ho was  brilliant! With EH and DY's history and relationship, of course it would go that way!
    2. I believe that Hae-rim and Seo-Joon's future relationship will have a solid foundation. Their bond will not come from heartbreak but for their love of books. They may end up as friends only or more, either way, I am fine with it.
    3. DY unconsciouly bought a gift for EH. Right now, she probably has no idea why. But later, she will realize all her past actions were because of something more.
    4. DY telling more about EH to SJ (without mentioning his name) and SJ's insights on DY's feelings at the udon resto was my favourite scene in this episode.
    5. EH's rejection of HR's was a bit cowardly but not out of character. It took him 13 letters to do it but he finally did it. HR was right, how could you hate him though? My second favourite scene in this episode.

Other things that I liked in episode 9:
    1. Ms Go's smile/smirk because of DY's accomplishment
    2. Mr Bong's return to the office - it was nice to see him back
    3. The office atmosphere. You will get scolded for a mistake but at the end of the day, you're still a team and the team will help you.
    4. Hoon's interaction with DY in the elevator only showed how clueless DY when it comes to people dropping hints.
    5. Lee Jong-suk's acting in the end scene - that boy, ugh!

I will probably watch the episode again once or twice while waiting for the new one. I don't want to raise questions and assumptions because I just want to enjoy watching everything unfold.

  7. One theory that I have on why KDY doesn't seem to go past the friendship line with CEH is because she wants the best person for him and maybe she just never saw herself to be that person for him. It never occured to her that they could be more than friends. Their interaction in the kitchen the morning after KDY-JSJ's date, kind of showed that KDY didn't even want CEH to entertain the idea of him dating a divorced woman with a kid.

I don't expect KDY to discover her hidden feelings for CEH with how things are going right now. He would need to step up and show her that she's the most special person for him.

  8. Hello!!! I was away from the forums for a year (or so?) but i'm back! And it's all because of that charming park bo gum, ugh that kid! Such a pretty face. Anyhoo, here's my two cents regarding the whole 'does CP know RO is a chick?"

    Yes. I believe so.

Episode 2: Remember what YS told the gisaeng when he was painting her? Even if the woman he met the night before (in episode 1) had been wearing an armour, he would still know that he's a woman. (They had a brief body contact in episode 1, YS put his arm around RO's shoulder to hide her from the night guards)

Episode 1: CP and RO's initial encounter and when they fell into a dirty pit. I think when CP grabbed her to lift her up, he might already felt that this young person was no boy but he's not quite sure.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8D_T9kC3es

CP's intrigued by this new character, same feeling as YS. That is why YS pretends not to know because he would rather discover RO's motivation for dressing up as a man the more he spends time with RO. Naturally because they are boys, they both starting liking her. I'm not just quite sure when CP got the confirmation that RO is actually a girl.

And here's my take regarding that yiheee! scene in episode 7. Yes, I do think it's a dream. But it's CP's dream not RO's. I will treat myself to a dozen of chicken wings if I'm wrong (but may be this is a win-win for me heehee!).
