  1. Well after watching the second episode I can say one thing the ending OST is kind of catchy. While I don’t know the lyrics or understand them, I still enjoy it. Other than that, we already have a few standard tropes coming true as well as some predictions. Still there are a few mysteries that still need to be resolved.

Let’s get on with this then.

Second male leads birthday party is ruined by a mysterious shooter who claims to be the chairman’s illegitimate son and he was doing it out of revenge. How many of you actually buy this claim. I have my doubts in regards to this. Can it be possible sure. But my suspicion is that the stepmother was actually responsible for the shootout. My reasoning for this is simply that the timing was too coincidental to be otherwise. The kid had witnessed her speaking with someone else and he had started to question her about who they were talking about. She needed to divert his attention from this because if she loses control of him she loses everything that she has worked for to stay in said house.

Her action of saving his life gains her a few bonus points because people now think that she genuinely cares about him (including the kid as well). Who is going to want to kick her out at this point. Unless it is proven that she was responsible. So could the person claiming to be the chairmans son be true sure or it could be both. She just used this fact to her advantage. Only time will tell.

Main leads mother survived the fall as predicted. (come on we all knew that was going to happen). But it seems like she may still be mentally okay at this point. Since there was just that one scene in the trailer for the next episode it seems like she probably needs another accident which will result in her mental injury. I guess we can wait for that for the time being.

Speaking of her we discover that she isn’t the first wife as we assumed all along and was kicked out by the mistress. It turns out to be the opposite for a change. So, what are your thoughts in regards to her. At least she isn’t really trying to steal second female leads mothers position she just wants to live on her own quietly with her kids. The people around her are the ones preventing her from doing so. Does that make her a villain or even a housewrecker. The chairman is at fault for not being able to control himself. Oh well I guess that is a story for another day.

Turns out henchman is second female leads father. What a predictable twist. Speaking of that she is responsible for attempted murder. Does this make her worse than her mother is the question now. The mother freaked out sure when she saw the fire and tried to make a tactical retreat, but she didn’t at least try to trap the female lead and her mother in a burning fire. Granted there is no real proof that the second female lead did the same thing. When the adopted father showed up there was a shelf blocking the door and it could have totally fallen by accident. But we know for a fact that the second female lead was present during the fire. This is evident by a clip in the first episode where we see a pair of legs running up the stairs and the female lead is shouting for help. Those were clearly the feet of the second female lead. This is further proven when her mother noticed the soot marks on her socks. She may not have realized the signs but we viewers clearly did. So again it is possible that she didn’t drop the shelf and we are jumping to conclusions or she didn’t notice it falling. Yet neither of them did anything to help the female lead and her mother when they were trapped in the fire.

Then we have the people confronting the female lead about where her father was. Looks like he probably asked people for a loan or borrowed money. But my question is why. They seemed well off that this didn’t seem necessary. Even if it was for the mothers treatment. Get a loan from the bank. I am sure that they could have afforded it. Could they be the people who worked for him and they didn’t get paid. We really need an answer from over here.

At least next episode (probably the end or the middle) brings the transition of the adult actors. So, we can proceed with the story. Why is the grandmother suddenly interested in locating the mistress after such a long time.

Oh, and how did the male leads mother survive the fall from the cliff and at the same time avoid Henchman who was trying to locate her. Just in time for the female lead and her adopted father to locate them and help her out. They couldn’t even use the magic IV of life. Though as predicted she was tracked down by the henchman and she did manage to escape from his clutches.

Overall the show seems decent. I guess I just have to wait till it eventually goes downhill and people start making dumb choices and whatnot. So till next time.

  2. The young actor for the second lead seems to be quite popular in just a short time I think I may have seen him in 3 shows already. Anyway in regards to the show itself we can easily figure out a few things that are going to happen.

Main lead lives with his disabled mother and then finds out that he has a birth secret. Oh what a big surprise. But we can easily figure out how his mother has become intellectually disabled. Second leads stepmother has hired someone to prevent his bio mother to not come near her family. She is clearly aware that her husband might still have feelings for the male leads mother. This means that the guy that she has hired is eventually going to capture her. During this time she will try and escape which will result in her either getting injured (at this point she will be assumed dead or he will panic for some reason and will leave her only for her to be rescued) but by that time the damage will already have been done.

Young females lead I will agree that she isn’t a saint and is kind of bratty but let’s be honest the people around her aren’t really helping their case as well. Her aunt once she discovered that her mother may have passed away started to treat her like hired help or perhaps a better way to describe her would be to think of her as Cinderella. So at the end of the day, I would say they are just as bad. Perhaps the female lead could sense that they weren’t being genuine towards her hence her reaction towards to them. Still it was probably wrong of her to call them beggars. The aunt was also selling of her families stuff without permission so let’s add to that as well.

People have brought up the fact how the aunt could have done any of that when an actual heir was still alive. I think that the way this works is that the female lead was still a minor at that time and I am sure in such a case a grown adult who is probably next of kin is supposed to become their guardian and look after the child and their wealth. In this case it would be the aunt. Now if the guardian spends all of the inheritance without making provisions for the child it might be a small issue but if they can prove that they didn’t have any malicious intent they might get away with doing so.

Another thing to note are we going to ignore the fact that the second female lead was fully aware that the female lead was trapped in the fire yet she left them to their fate. In regards to that I guess I am more open minded to give the current female lead a slight pass even if she was a brat back then.

We can also figure out that the female lead is going to get separated from her current family (Aunt and cousin) this will result in her living with the guy who was selling octopuses and will help raise her and from the chart also help the male lead and his mother. This means that when she bumps into the second female lead as a rival for the second male lead. They aren’t initially going to recognize each other.

Not sure where I stand on second male leads family at the moment. I am going to assume that he will continue to think that his stepmother is still his bio mother till much later on and when his brother will show up later on. He won’t realize that it is his biological brother and he will be fighting over the company over him. His mother isn’t going to correct his misunderstanding because she has a lot to gain if he continues to believe that she is his mother. Sure she can poison his mind that his bio mother ran off to have someone elses child but I don’t think that the show will go over there straight away. Perhaps later on when he discovers that the male lead is his brother will he confront her only to be fed this lie. As for the grandmother I am still trying to figure out what role she is going to play. As the second male leads mothers MiL she is kind of nasty towards her. But then it does make sort of sense considering the fact that she may have been her son’s mistress.

  3. I was going to say that Na Young’s actions totally baffle me but now after watching the latest episode I am going to say that while this is still true to a certain extent, I feel like we finally have gotten down to her motivation for them. Will get to that in a bit. I want to bring up a line that I found fun in this show. Am looking forward to hearing which lines the rest of you have enjoyed so far. For me it had to be when Uri was confronting Na Young for all the lies, she had come up with and he then brings up the line where she claimed to have feelings for him. His response. That was a lie too correct. He then reminds her that lying isn’t good because she can be considered the girl that cries wolf and at some point, nobody is going to believe her.

Moving on to Na Young and her actions she refuses to admit that she is Suji’s sister and loves to further complicate matters. She plays the victim card and that is only going to work for so long. Now I do get her motivation for doing that, but she really isn’t thinking things through. But that isn’t the point that I wanted to bring up for now. What I don’t get was an earlier scene where she confronts her co-worker about why he leaked the video of Suji slapping her and how she didn’t want to make a big deal about it. He denies the fact and then points out that he deleted the video after sending it to her hence she could be a possible suspect. She denies this fact and points out that she has no reason to do so since she is in the video as well. Then sometime later when she is confronted by Suji she admits that she was indeed responsible and the justification why she did it. Also she didn’t realize the video would go viral even after her deleting it after realizing her mistake/misunderstanding.

My question now is why did we even have the first scene then of her confronting the co-worker if she knew he was innocent. I guess it makes sense if the scene was meant as a red herring but then they really shouldn’t have resolved it so soon. She should have continued to deny her actions and it would take someone to uncover it. But her simply confronting someone innocent and she knows it makes no sense. I mean this is a show with people have mental issues and all. If they really want to make it more interesting it would have perhaps made more sense if they show her with a split personality disorder and she is totally unaware of it taking over and being responsible for some of her actions which will result in her needing to be treated. This would frankly make more sense and perhaps even be more interesting than her current justification of why she despises Suji.

Frankly that should be based on poor parenting at the end of the day. If they were over working just to pay for Suji’s medical classes, they should have perhaps told her to give up on her dreams as they couldn’t afford it or she should have earned a scholarship and found a part time job. This way Na Young would perhaps have a harder time to blame her. Also, we shouldn’t forget the fact that her memory is apparently faulty. If that is the case I do wonder what is going to happen once she discovers the truth.

Now moving back to the fact of how Na Young is trying her level best to hide her connection with Suji. In a way it makes sense. She has constantly been compared to her. Again, a case of bad parenting. In some cases, this does work as a motivating factor but in others it just makes it worse. Parents should be able to tell the difference and take proper actions. They didn’t do it over here, so it further added fuel to the fire. It also brings up the fact that she now wants to prove to everyone else that she is just as good as Suji and can make it on her own talent. If people were to discover the truth, she wouldn’t be sure if they were actually doing this due to her own talent or out of pity that she was Suji’s sister. But how long is she going to hide the fact.

For most of the things that they do it won’t really make much of a difference whether people don’t figure out her connection but in certain departments she needs to admit to this fact whether she likes it or not. For instance, when she shows a romantic interest in anyone, she should bring this up especially if they also know Suji. Unless she isn’t pursuing them seriously with a romantic interest. In that case it is okay but if that isn’t the case then eventually her life partner is going to find out. For instance, the family meeting that is bound to happen. What is she going to do lock Suji up in some storage room so that she can’t make it. What about the day of the marriage or family events.

Next, I find her comment baffling in regard to her not realizing the video of Suji slapping her would go viral even after her deleting it. Wait you really expect us to believe that. It might have been possible if she was a stranger to what makes things popular on social media. But that isn’t the case she works in the broadcasting industry. Not only that but she has been on the receiving end of it. Her actions (even unintentional) have resulted in numerous memes being made and she isn’t even as famous as Suji. So, what did she expect when she posted it. The more famous or popular a person is that much faster a video of them is going to viral. Clearly her intent was to ruin Suji’s career before she realized the mistake. So, she planned on the video going viral anyway. But she should have also calculated the speed even if there was a misunderstanding and deleting it.

Maybe the co-worker should have called her bluff (not knowing that it was one) and seen it to the end. Would she have actually jumped wondering why he didn’t come to her rescue, or would she have backed down at the last minute thinking that he was a jerk who only cared about his ratings and getting a big scoop. I do wonder what his reaction is going to be once he actually discovers her secret.

Second male lead is already starting to get annoying. I get that he likes Suji and the only thing that I like about him so far is that he still believes her innocence and all. But his insecurity is going to end their relationship. Even Uri can tell at this point that he has this issue. Such as when he brought him over to his studio apartment. It was an intentional move on his part. He had a pair of everything over there such as slippers, towels and even a toothbrush. His intent was clear. But did he really need to do any of that if he was actually confident about his feelings for Suji and if he knew her.

Rapper Bro seems to take a few steps forward only to lose them just as quick. The family over here is still just as immature as when they started. I don’t know why I was starting to hope things differently. Both his mother and him expect to be paid for helping revive the family business. Now I do understand the need to be paid for their services, but they should also look at the situation first before speaking. This is especially worse when they know just how bad they financially are. Though to be fair him wanting to be paid does make sense in hindsight considering the fact that he has to pay of his loan/debt to Doori (Uri’s sister).  It was fun to see how his hopes crashed with his last meeting with her. He thought of her as an Angel only to realize that she may actually be a demon in disguise.

Doori still gets points for being a part of the loyal fan club of Suji and tried to help her out. The question now is who will realize the connection to Suji and her mother first especially considering the clues each side has. Suji still has the stitched item that her mother made for her as a child, and she also found the handkerchief that her mother accidentally dropped. The mother just needs to see one of them to realize her connection. Actually, for the last one it can get a whole lot of confusing for a while. For instance, one of the family members or even the mother might find it in her room and simply think that it must have gotten in Suji’s room by accident, and you can be sure that will happen. Suji might also be wondering where it might have gone but can’t bring it up until perhaps, she sees it with her mother or perhaps someone else might have a spare that looks just the same for further extending the episodes/plot points.

Does the mother perhaps know that her friend’s daughter was also Na Young at some point and connect the dots. Granted the name alone isn’t going to be the deciding factor since there can be people having a namesake out there and Suji doesn’t have her birthname at the moment, so it makes the connection even harder. But once she discovers the fact that Na Young is her sister and that they aren’t biologically related then things might move a bit faster.

Fun fact Suji’s mother and second male leads mother were once rivals in another drama will it turn out to be the same case over here as well. At least in this show she isn’t going in every other episode how she used to be in Miss Korea. While it was fun in the beginning and a clear reference to the actress actual achievement it got pretty old just as fast. I still feel bad for the mother and the misunderstanding that is going on in the family that she abandoned Suji like that. The show really needs to let us viewers at least know what actually happened back then so we can sympathise more with this separation. Which party is actually responsible for this. At least I also hope that Suji is willing to take her own advice that she is dishing out to Na Young. This being that she should be more open minded to clear up any misunderstandings between the two.

Frankly I am surprised that Na Young could even have such a misunderstanding that is that her family was more interested in Suji’s safety than her own. Now with the rest of them I could partially understand them doing this. But not with her own mother. We have seen how she does anything to protect her so it would make sense that she would be more worried about Na Young than Suji. Only recently she seems to have realized that her daughter may have been raised wrong to the extent that she is now more willing to lay a helping hand in the house. So does this mean that Na Young was excluding her or her memory really is all hazy due to the event taking place ages ago.

Uncle and teacher is a ship bound to sink and again i feel that him wanting to try and date her simply to stay in the same house with Suji’s mother is unfair to everyone involved. Granted he did say that he was willing to give a shot at dating someone else just to move on. I still feel that is equally wrong. While I do understand the actions of all the parties involved they really need to come up with a better solution.

I do wonder what factors will play in where everyone realizes their feelings for each other. Right now Suji’s mother is simply grateful for his help and does worry about him but she won’t allow herself to have any kind of feelings for him because of her past. Perhaps she needs a scare from the legendary Truck of Doom to get those feelings to kickstart. Also Suji might need to nudge her in the correct direction without knowing that she is her mother.

Come to think of it Suji has actually committed a crime in this show. Yet we don’t really talk about it. Probably because she is the female lead over here. For starters she broke the doctor/patient confidentiality and revealed the patient information to another person without permission from said person or even their current guardian. In this case since the girl was living with her father and the parents were legally divorced he was her legal guardian. (the actress of the mother for some reason looked familiar I just can’t place her at the moment). She then takes the little girl without permission from her legal guardian again just so that she can meet up with her mother. That is considered abduction. Regardless of the fact that she didn’t mean to harm the child or even return safely (even if the bodyguards didn’t show up to get the girl back)

Second male lead feeling outraged that Suji might get fired. Actually, if he thinks about it rationally as people tell him he would realize that sadly that is the only option at the moment. His mother did give him an alternate solution that he finds a decent lawyer to help her out and clear her name. But that is going to take time. A hospital isn’t run on charity sadly and like any good business it needs it’s share of publicity. Having a doctor that is known to be abusive isn’t a good look for them. So, unless Suji’s name is instantly cleared (which may be quite hard due to a few factors) they have two options then. Fire her or place her on a temporary leave of absence until the matter is resolved. Probably docking her pay along the way for the time being. Since they are providing her with legal service (only she is aware of this fact unless they want to experience more backlash) then this is more than reasonable. After all the lawyer needs to be paid his legal fees and all and it come out of her pay as a compromise. Otherwise, if this was America, I am sure Suji could sue them for wrongful termination of services after she has her name cleared.

I also don’t get Na Young’s thinking process. Some of the stunts that she pulls are just plain weird even with her justification of a faulty memory. She is an adult. Yes, I am going to keep bringing up this point. Had she been a kid like Aera I might have felt sorry for her but as of now she just has me baffled. Even her having feelings for Uri and feeling humiliated when he brings up the fact that she may have even lied about her feelings for him. Granted she didn’t help her case for him to come up with that reasoning. But even if we don’t count that for the time being the points that she brought up which she mistook for him having feelings for her. Don’t really add up. Sure, they could have been that but when he wasn’t responding to any of her signals she should have known when to give up and that she was reading too much into something that wasn’t there. I am sure everyone here but her could tell that he wasn’t remotely interested in her even if he wasn’t the male lead.

As any decent person one could help another person without anything in return, as a doctor it would further make sense to treat an injured person and even recommend them having the wound checked out (especially if that wasn’t their department). The rest was on her as well. She was the one who asked him out for a meal and advice for the audition tips. She should have considered the fact that if he had free time nothing was stopping him from using it to help her out. Again he didn’t gain anything from it and when she tried to let him keep the money so that he could treat her again he refused pointing out that borrowing money and him treating her were two different things. So her reading something more was entirely on her. She couldn’t and shouldn’t blame this on him or even Suji.

Oh well before I start going on more of a rant. Let me end this post over here for the time being. I know that I will regret saying something if I continue in this post. So take care all of you and let me know what all of you think.

  4. Ah well the first thing that I am going to say is in regards to @UnniSarah about the show that they mentioned regarding Kang Byul aka Jin Na Youngs actress drama. It is one of the shows that is on my ban list, and I don’t really recommend that to anyone. At the end of the day there probably wasn’t any character in that show that I liked over there. But since I have already vented my issues for it in the proper thread, I won’t bring them up here as it would also be labelled off topic.

Now moving on to this show itself. I remember the last time I mentioned that due to a misunderstanding Suji and her mother were separated and I pointed out that the one to gain the most from this would be the hospital director (second leads father). But after careful consideration there is one more to gain from her leaving and that would be Na Youngs mother. Frankly I have a bunch of other questions as to how they separated at this point and from the grandmother’s reaction when her DiL brought up seeing Suji’s mother in the marketplace her involvement in this seems almost nil at the time being.

Anyway, back to why Na Young’s mother may have something to cause the misunderstanding and what she gains from it. She already had issues as a single mother and knowing what we know of such things from Korean Dramas they are looked down in society. Now as she was pregnant with Rapper Brother or even gave birth to him her situation is going to be worse. Not only that raising one child on your own is difficult but add another child in the mix. One can easily imagine that she would do anything to prevent that. If she can find a stable place to raise her children of course she is going to take the opportunity and get rid of any obstacles along the way. Even if that was her former friend. Yes, the grandmother may have offered to raise the son as he was of their bloodline but separating a child from their parent is just as bad. So, she isn’t going to easily accept such an offer. But if she knows that her rival is in no position to return, she is going to use that to her advantage.

Now one can wonder if she was guilty in the first place why bring up the fact that she saw her in the marketplace. I would suspect because she was testing out the waters so to speak. She knows that they probably don’t know she was responsible so she is safe in that department, but she also asked that if Suji’s mother returned would the grandmother take her back or something along those lines. The grandmother’s response shows that if she was indeed responsible then she has succeeded in creating a wedge between the two.

Ok now for a thing that I didn’t quite understand. The grandmother is angry that Suji’s mother still hasn’t shown up especially if she was alive. And especially brings up the point that Suji is so famous considering that she even shows up on tv so the mother might have shown up just for that fact or to ask them for money. Either at home or the studio but she hasn’t. Now this totally baffles me. Yes, Suji is famous and shows up on TV but how is the mother to recognize her. It isn’t like she was performing at an early age like some child actor and not only that she also has a different name now. So were they thinking that the mother while watching tv may think to herself oh she looks like me when I was young so this might be my daughter. But wait it can’t be her because her name is different.

Na Young really isn’t helping her case, and I am really starting to dislike her mother as well. Now I can get it that she suspects her husband of cheating, and the situation really didn’t help when they went into the motel to catch the suspect. But even later her comments aren’t very helpful or her insisting that Suji should help the family out because she is successful. While there is nothing wrong in asking her way was wrong especially as we know that Suji was already helping the family out even prior to this incident. What also makes her character so shallow and worse is the fact that she expects others to do things for her without contributing anything herself. Even her MiL and son contributed as much as they could. But both her and Na Young have refused to pitch in. I can kind of understand Na Young considering that she isn’t biologically related to that family apart from her mother. But even then, she should considering that they accepted her into their family. They could have easily demanded that her mother could join their family since she had to raise Rapper Brother who is part of their bloodline, but Na Young would have to be left behind.

Now if they mistreated her when she was a child, I might be more understanding. She did bring up the point that when was she considered a part of the family. Now if that was the case, I could feel partially sorry for her. But from everything that I have seen so far at least in the interactions between Suji and her this doesn’t seem to be the case. She tries her level best to help her out when she can. The only real time when she ignored her was when she was having a hard time when she thought that her mother abandoned her. Even then once she realized that she was missing she went out searching for her. So, if there are any issues it is probably because Na Young and her temperament at this point.

Speaking of the role that she wants as an MC I think there could be a situation where everyone wins. But knowing her she is still going to end up complaining and whining about how things are so unfair and while we are at it blame her favourite punching bag aka Suji. Suji refusing to take the spot as the director in a pickle because the CEO wants her in the rule and his job is on the line. Na Young clearly had the position if we are to believe the rumours until the last minute. Suji clearly needs more pay if she wants to clear of the family money issues (assuming she gets paid for showing up on these shows apart from her doctor’s salary). So how do we combine all these things where it works out for everyone. In this case Suji can agree to do the show but adds the stipulation that she will only do so if Na Young is her co host. This way in theory everyone should get what they want/need. Suji gets the extra money for the family; the director gets out of his dilemma of what to do and thus keeps his jobs and his superiors get their top pick. Finally, Na Young gets her dream job and should be happy about it. But she is probably going to be complaining about even this deal. Frankly I think that is quite fair but who am I to judge.

I feel sorry for Ara and how her mother still hasn’t returned. I wonder what her story over here is. But as one can see the show really wants these two families to be connected and Ara is the perfect excuse for them to continue to meet and learn about each other even if it was unintentional.

Actually, knowing K-Dramas for so long I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided that Suji’s family moves into Uri’s house somehow. We know that they have a spare room because that is where they found Ara in. Probably where she was living with her mother before she had to leave suddenly. Suji and her family need a place to stay, and they can’t really be picky. In fact, Na Young’s mother mentioned that they can’t take everything with them due to space in their new place and they would be extremely lucky if everyone got their own space. Granted that one room is so small that I doubt the entire family can live over there. So perhaps it will just be Suji as this would give her a better opportunity to finally understand her mother and her new family. This way it is going to be easier to forgive her mother for supposedly abandoning her as a child.

Before someone tells me how half of this can even happen without anyone else catching on. I would mention that K-Dramas are notorious for these kinds of awkward situations. Regardless of who moves into that room and who knows who it isn’t going to be until a few episodes that these connections will be discovered. For instance if it is in regards to the grandmother, father and Na Youngs mother that will move over there then they will have met everyone in that household apart from Suji’s mother as she will always be out even when they come to the restaurant. She might have just gone to pick up Ara or perhaps gone to the market for shopping as they are the only ones that can recognize her.

If it is Suji then it probably will be her not knowing that she has moved into Uri’s place. as of now if you can recall she has only met with her mother, Ara and his sister. So, she still doesn’t know that is his place as well. His sister did try and tell her about him but conveniently couldn’t for some reason. So, they are both equally going to be surprised to discover the truth. We all know how Na Young is going to react when she discovers this and is going to blame Suji that she deliberately moved into his place when she was aware that she had feeling for him and thus Suji as always sabotaged her as usual.

Someone brought up another birth secret (unconfirmed) that Uri might actually be part of the doctor’s family. If they do that I wouldn’t be surprised. It is after all part of the K-Drama tropes and certain trope factors certainly do add up. My only real issue with this is that he has a sister. Unless it turns out that they aren’t biologically related at this point pulling this stunt might be harder to believe. But it might explain a few things at the same time. Wasn’t going to do this but let’s do it anyway.

We know two things as a fact in regard to the second leads family. One they have issues. What they are aren’t exactly clear. Not only that where his grandfathers is laid to rest there is someone else his mother prays for. Even if they show us the name it isn’t going to help because the main characters have their names changed for various reasons. Could the missing child have been Suji. Sure, but at this point it has been 100% confirmed that Suji’s mother is the same as Uri’s current mother. The near miss/slow mo walk as they passed by at the hospital, Na Young’s mother recognizing her in the marketplace, and the yellow handstitched cloak just to name a few. So now we need to move on to the Uri being said child. Mind you there could be another twist over here which we will get. But if we look at the main lead requirements how many of them match for Uri.

Main leads are usually raised by a single parent or family member. (there missing parent is almost always related to the second lead)

The main leads are almost always involved in a love triangle with the second leads. Sometimes this can lead to a love square/rectangle to further complicate their twisted history. Or they may have a past history with one of them. Also check out the trope above as they can interrelate.

Okay now I know that there are probably other tropes that we can combine but surprisingly they seem to have slipped my mind at the moment. Kind of embarrassing and while I had a bunch, or tropes written down where I could further use as reference material and add them as they matched the situation. That file must have gotten deleted so for the time being let’s just go with the two above mentioned (note I know other tropes but in regards for the Uri possible birth secret I could just remember those. If I start to bring up every trope that has already been covered and what we are lacking this post is going to get really huge. To prevent such insanity and headache I am not going to do that)

Now let’s do the breakdown of the above mentioned tropes.

In the first one Uri’s full parentage is a mystery and we can have a separated at birth trope going on considering the fact that the only one who seems related in that house to Uri is his biological sister. So, it could very well be that one or both of the second leads parents are also his parents. Also depending on when he got separated it is possible that he ended up in an orphanage and a family either adopted both him and his sister or he was adopted into her family. Him becoming a doctor could be part of another K-Drama trope.

Almost every character somehow also ends up being good at and is drawn to the thing that their missing parent or family member is part of. A good example from a recent drama would be Da Jung from the Third Marriage. Apparently, she takes after her grandmother when it comes to cooking. What is going on in that drama has her birth secret been discovered yet. I sadly dropped it due to time issues and I really need to get back there at some point.

So anyway, back to the point I was making we know that the hospital was established by the second leads grandfather so this could be the connection for Uri, or then if the director is his actual father that makes two K-Drama connector plot twists for down the line. Another main thing to consider is that almost everyone is to be connected with each other, so we have no real wasted characters.

Now let’s move onto the second trope. The love triangles/quadrantals. Over here one of the main leads either was somehow connected to the second leads as they were dating them but then due the second leads ambitious nature, they will find an excuse to not be with the main lead and end up with the second lead. (they might even regret their decision down the line when the birth secret plot pops in). Or the second lead will have a one sided crush on the main lead but will always be kept in the friend zone for life. In this case the only one that has a previous connection with the main lead is the second lead with Suji. As of now he doesn’t seem to be ambitious but let’s wait and see. Back to Uri he has started to fall for Suji he just hasn’t realized it yet or even if he does he isn’t going to do anything about it out of respect for her. But like I said this brings up the room of sibling rivalry in more ways than one and not only that the Na Young situation. So yes we have a few tropes linking Uri as a possible birth secret and being related to the doctors family.

Now moving on to the parents in that family. They clearly have their marital issues. The show hasn’t gone down into fully explaining the reason. The closest was when the director’s possible ambition was brought up and why he may have married into that family. Which also may have hinted the fact that this was probably an arranged marriage. Hence the unhappiness between them. Of course there could be a few other factors as well. It does bring up age related questions and whatnot. But who are we to argue if the writers make said mistake. We are just here to see that the main leads get their happily ever after and perhaps a decent redemption arc for the second leads and people growing up. Returning to the parents apart from a forced marriage there can be two more contributing factors and perhaps even more connecting points between said characters.

Like it has been brought up there is a missing/dead person in that family. How did that happen? Was the father perhaps supposed to look after them but decided to go out or not pay attention to them which resulted in a child going missing. If that is the case, then the mother could blame him for his inattention and losing their child. The only real issue over here is the fact that the second lead is totally unaware of the missing person. Considering he his Suji’s senior this would mean that he is older than Uri as well. So, he is unaware of his missing sibling. How is that even possible. Have they removed all traces of them that he has forgotten about them. I guess that makes partial sense. The other reason why the parents have issues between them could be a case of infidelity between one of them at this point. For instance, the director is showing a lot of attention towards Suji’s biological mother. Clearly his interest in her is more than a doctor with their normal patience. I may be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being in regards to an affair. It is totally possible that he is innocent and there is a misunderstanding between his wife. But while we are on the topic of having an affair it is possible that the person he had it with ended up getting pregnant but perhaps never informed him or the wife handled the situation without him being aware of this fact. In that case Uri may have been his child or the other one who could be his might be Na Young. Though I think we should hold of on that assumption for the time being. Perhaps both Uri and Na Young are related to that family just for laughs. But it seems unlikely at the given moment.

Anyway due to the length of this post I will end it for the time being. Take care all of you and keep up with the posts. We need more theories to keep this thread going and also wonder when The Truck Of Doom will show up.

  5. @kboramint thanks once again for the name explanation. When you put it like that then it does make sense that Suji could be a way of saying Suzy. I didn’t know said actress wrote her name like that. We learn something new everyday. Speaking of her the first drama that I was introduced to her was Dream High where the female lead over here was her rival and probably also the second lead. Since I was into anime back then I had listed them as Sakura and Ino respectively, IU was Hinata, and the second lead was Sasuke.  If anyone hasn’t watched said drama give it a shot. The first season was definitely better than the second though.

Now moving on to the bit where you mentioned Suji’s mother calling the grandmother mother/sister. While I didn’t hear her call her mother, yet I am pretty sure that I heard her call her Unni at some point. Perhaps this is a mistake from the writer’s end, so they don’t have an exact term for her. Plus, as one can see the family dynamic in that house is extremely complicated currently. Nobody really seems to be connected by blood apart from the two siblings, but they apparently are well aware of each others backstory. For instance, when the sister wonders if they should help locate their mothers lost daughter (Suji) and suggests ways how to do so. Uri advices against it and mentions that their mother must have a good reason not to do so at the moment.

But as we go further into these episodes it clearly looks like there was some kind of interception like in the previous drama which has resulted in the misunderstanding and separation between the two families. This can be indicated when the grandmother notes that Suji still has the cape that was stitched by her mother. She then comments how her mother was so heartless for abandoning Suji or something along those lines. Now the grandmother could easily be faking her reaction so that Suji doesn’t realize that she may have been responsible for the separation. But as of now I will give her the benefit of doubt for the time being. From what I recall she preferred her as her DiL and even suggested that it would have been better if she were to raise Rapper Bro. This means that she was clearly against his mother from joining the family at that point and only gave in after she left the family. Therefore, it seems more likely that this relationship had to be sabotaged and if anything, the doctor seems to be the one who has the most to gain at this point. He even wonders if he misread the situation or something at one point.

Someone mentioned about Na Young and how they don’t like her or how she overreacts. I will partially agree with this sentiment for the time being. Perhaps I have become to desentised after watching a lot of these shows but as of now she isn’t half as bad as some of her other counterparts. Let’s look at their actions and see if she has done anything similar. Has she framed the main leads for a crime that they haven’t committed. So far, the closest that she has come in regards to this is when she damaged and borrowed that dress and wasn’t willing to take responsibility for her actions but even then she didn’t blame it on Suji. Has she faked her pregnancy (not being one) or is pregnant with someone else’s child but is claiming that it belongs to the main lead etc.. nope. Has she stolen corporate information and dumped it on someone else or hurt another co-worker just so that she can get a chance to shine. Again no. I am not saying that she won’t do any of this down the line but as of now she is still better than all those other second female lead rivals.

On the other hand, let’s talk about her overacting or whatever the issue is. Frankly my main issue is perhaps not the overacting I just assume that is part of her character. My thing over here is that she is an adult woman (not sure of her age) but she tends to act like an overgrown child or highschooler and that just doesn’t match with her appearance. Now I don’t know if this issue is due to poor actings skills on the actress part because I believe I have only seen her in maybe two other earlier dramas where she was in supporting roles. The one show where she was the main lead I just had issues with the drama itself and I have put it on a ban list. In fact, if anyone I know mentions that they are watching said drama I actively advice them against it. But if it is just her character it does make sense. She mentioned that she has never been slapped before Suji did it to her. Clearly indicating that her mother did a poor job of raising her.

Uri is a fun character sort of. He has been extremely dense especially when it comes to picking up signals that Na Young was interested in him in a romantic way until she had to literally tell him about it. That also reminds me of another comparison between other second female leads which Na Young hasn’t done. She isn’t going after Uri or trying to seduce him simply because he is an item with Suji. So in other ways out of spite or for some perceived wrongs that Suji might have done to her or her family. While she is chasing after him it is simply because she likes him and she doesn’t even want any kind of financial gains from him. Not that is going to happen.

@nohamahamoud2002 you are correct in your current assessment that there isn’t any kind of love triangle or even square at the moment. But when you watch a lot of these dramas then you see a pattern and it is extremely rare when the pattern is broken. People that we have categorized as main leads generally end up together. When they don’t I know that I have issues because I have invested a lot of my time only for it all to be wasted in the end. But that is a debate for another time. As of now I don’t think that the writer is going to deviate from the original plan after all the show is even called Suji and Uri indicating them as the main characters and thus in all probabilities the main leads and hence the endgame. How that happens we need to wait and see.

From the preview it seems like the doctor finally is aware of who is son likes and he informs his wife. We now need to wait and see if they will approve of her or will one of them play the role of evil In Law. The mother as of now seems to have supported her son’s choice of life partner. Perhaps because she was forced in her own marriage and has remained unhappy, so she doesn’t want her son to go through the same thing. She even brought up this point sort of with her husband. Who is he to judge the girls standard ie wealth, background etc.. Regardless the main issue is probably not with Suji as an individual but the problems that her family will bring by becoming in laws such as they are currently in debt and may even be labelled as scammers. Nobody would want to be associated with them in said situation.

Now back to Suji’s mother and the family that she lives in. Granted I don’t know what a woman would refer to her SiL since I am terrible in Korean, but I am a bit confused about her getting married again as someone suggested. As of now from what I have gathered in regards to the chain of attempts (which I won’t deny can easily be changed down the line) from the clips shown. She left her house and tried to find a job so that she could support herself and Suji. This sadly resulted in her accident (probably since this was her first try) and she ended up in the hospital. After her recovery she discovered that her family had moved away. Again, she had no time to get married anytime during this period. The Mother/Sister even points out that her brother had never been married prior to this and was mistaken for her husband during her accident. It would have made more sense if her husband had shown up if she was married prior to the incident. After the incident she has clearly mentioned that she has no desire to get married because she feels so guilty that she could possibly live a happy life without knowing what happened to her daughter and whether or not she is happy. So again, it doesn’t seem to me at least that she was ever married apart from her original family.

From the trailer of the next episode it also seems like Na Young is going to blame Suji again for messing up her life. Until I watch said episode I feel like Na Young is being unreasonable again. Suji was clearly uninterested in the job regardless of whether or not Na Young would have gotten the job. Perhaps Suji shouldn’t have mentioned Na Young when she declined the offering. This way the director might not have an outlet to place the blame on. But this way he may think that either Na Young complained to Suji and for some reason they are related and hence Suji was declining or something along those lines. Not only that Suji probably shouldn’t have brought up the sexual harassment that he was doing to Na Young that evening. Probably both these contributing factors made him take out his frustration on Na Young who then takes it out on Suji.

Anyway, I think that i will end my post over here for the time being. So take care all of you. I was going to mention how it seemed like this was a dead thread and I was wondering if people have simply stopped watching dailies now compared to back when I started watching these shows. Perhaps I am in the wrong thread. But it seems like we have a few new posters over here. So let me welcome them and hope that we can all have some fun and come up with interesting theories. I will admit that sometimes it seems like the writer of the show might be prowling over here as well because they shot down two of the theories I came up with earlier. Regardless I am looking forward to all of your posts and theories.

  6. Okay so first of all thanks once again @kboramint for clarifying who made what statement in regard to that bloodline bit. Saved me a lot of time of searching said episode. The other part is in regard to that fan theory of yours that the revenge dramas and dailies are happening in the same world. Actually, that is a popular theory which some of these dramas have hinted at times. Examples that can be seen as evidence.

While I don’t remember either dramas name we had a scene like this. The female lead (who is currently doing the weekend drama on KBS World aka here) was a cop in one show. In the next daily after (I think) where she was the lead. There is a disturbance somewhere and the cop that shows up is the same actor from her show. Indicating that he is the same person. No names were used over here. Not that we would have even bothered to remember a side character. But the implications or fan theory could be seen.

In another drama one of the grandfathers mentions that he is currently seeing/dating a character name. In another show (probably after this one also) the grandmother character mentions that she is using said name. Again trying to imply the connection for the fans.

The best one had to be where we had Joo Won in the manga adaption (that korea did) drama. Over here he is cleaning up the mess that the female lead had done of her room. He comes across some stale bread that he throws out, but not before the female lead mentions that it is from her favourite brand Kim Tagoos bread. (clearly a reference to his Previous work.) at least we now know what happened in that show after it’s ending.

Then we have shows from different networks that try and make similar connections or are based in the same universe. But I think that will be me going off topic and to prevent that warning let me get on to the post regarding the show itself.

@nohamahamoud2002  welcome to the thread. Hopefully you stick around. So far since the show is just beginning, I would grade it a 4/10. If you are looking for something new and different get ready to be disappointed it already has the standard tropes over here. But since it is also the beginning the characters haven’t become frustrating in either being too dumb or naive or evil. But give it time and who knows.

Kbo yes Uri and his sister are most definitely adopted somehow in that family. This could have been implied by the following statement the grandmother/aunt made. When their mother had her accident, the uncle was assumed to be her husband. She remarks how that was when he had never been married by that point. Now it certainly isn’t impossible to have a child without being married (hence a lot of birth secrets in these shows). So, they could have come after the accident. But then you have to consider the following Uri and Suji are clearly endgame. If this is the case, they can’t be related. Also, they are probably the same age so it would be next to impossible for Uri and his sister to be biologically related to her mother. Now they could have been the uncle’s kid but there was no indication of a woman being in his life prior to the accident. Making this also not an option.

So yes, it would be nice if they could better explain the mystery of these two and how come the aunt doesn’t have an issue with them compared to the little girl who has now become part of the family.

Moving back to some of the other tropes that we have over here.

The standard rivalry between the main leads and the second leads including the infamous love triangle/square.

Sorry but i don’t feel bad about Na Young. Any pain and grief that is bound to come her way is going to be her own fault. She comes of as an ungrateful brat at times but that is besides the point. Will get into that in a bit. But let’s talk about the issue where they tend to blame the main lead that if they hadn’t shown up the opposite main lead would have become an item with them. Almost every show proves that this isn’t the case even when the other lead gives them an opportunity by moving away for X number of years before returning even showing up for the first time.

In this case she is giving out signals, but he has struck them out two times. Girl just give up and move on. He just isn’t interested in you in that way even before meeting with Suji. For instance, when she gave him money and he tried to return it back to her she gave him an excuse so that they could meet up again (treat her with it next time to a meal) he refused. When she asked him out for a meal on the weekend he told her that he had plans to study. So no he isn’t interested in you. She should give it up at this point. Instead she is coming of as a highschooler with a crush. Probably her first love given her reactions but still have some pride. She is all about that when Suji offers her help but when it comes to a guy, she has lost it.

I would say that she is still slightly manipulative when it comes to her character. But so far, her actions haven’t caused anyone any serious harm so I can give her a small pass. For instance, when she messages Uri to call her the intent is clearly obvious.

Suji doesn’t know that she messaged him, so she thinks that he contacted her on his own accord. Indicating a closeness between the two. Therefore, when she starts to develop feelings for him, she is going to put it on hold just out of respect for her sister. Until the misunderstanding is cleared up. Not that Na Young is going to see it that way. She will feel like Suju betrayed her considering her other reactions to her helping out.

For instance, when the PD took her out for drinks the way he was behaving towards her clearly counted as sexual harassment. She only staid quiet due to her job being on the line and she was clearly uncomfortable with his actions. Now instead of being grateful for Suji for bailing her out of the situations she tells her to mind her own business or the fact that this was the reason why Suji was unable to get the classes she promised her because said person got offended. Again she doesn’t blame the guy who was harresing her or admit that she was uncomfortable she blames Suji.

So yes I can see why people might not like her.

The other thing/trope to consider over here is probably the misunderstanding the other party trope.

Normally this is done between the main leads, and this results in them breaking up for the time being until it is cleared up. Since they haven’t become a couple, you can be sure that it will come down the line. But as of now this is probably the same as the last drama where the parents got separated from their kids. It kind of looks like this happened again. Just who is responsible for this remains to be seen. For evidence let’s look at the following statements that characters made and what it could imply over here.

The aunt/grandmother (what should we call her relation wise since I am a bit unclear) mentioned to Suji’s mother how that family not only moved abroad but also sold of their family property (burial site among others) before doing so.

As for the stepmother she brings up the fact how her husband cheats on people (or their particular case) when things are going well for him. This included the soy sauce factory that he was running at the time (was this the same soy sauce that Na Youngs doppelganger and family made when she was a female lead. PS . do not watch said drama it is not worth your time).

Now on their own these statements may not make a lot of sense but if you consider what Suji’s grandmother mentioned to the stepmother’s response, we can see a connection being formed. She mentions that things started to go wrong after the stepmother became a part of the family. If this is the case, then it is safe to assume that the company faced financially difficult times that the family had to probably sell it off and perhaps even the rest of their property to clear of any debts that remained. Using the rest of the money they probably decided to try their luck abroad. Not sure why they had to return to Korea at this point. Had they gotten tired of living over there or did the father make bad business choices. Either way this explains why they sold of their property and left.

Naturally since the mother was involved in an accident, they couldn’t contact her prior to leaving. Though to be fair considering how the grandmother is she probably saw that as a good thing since she might not have wanted to part with Suji. Of course, this still doesn’t mean that a deliberate intervention to prevent the mother to meet up with Suji is not impossible at this point. It is unlikely that the uncle or his sister were responsible. At least from her statement and she wouldn’t be urging her to find her family/daughter if she was guilty. This does leave the number of suspects to Suji’s grandmother, Na Young (though she was too young at that time so i don’t know how she could have lied or why) or the doctor that performed the surgery.

We know by now that he is 90% has feelings for Suji’s mother. If he thought that there was a way for him to be with her if he lied that her family moved away without giving him the contact information, then he is at fault or he could have helped them indirectly. For instance, we don’t know who purchased the family property. Could be a random stranger never to be introduced or the doctor telling them that he could clear of their debt in return for leaving the country and the price of their property. They might have been desperate to accept such a deal.

Another thing to note is that Suji has her name conveniently changed hence even when she has come face to face with her mother, they have failed to recognize each other. Clearly this is for plot convivence because the mother might have brought it up earlier therefore, they need many more plot twists before they realize their connections. Though we can be sure that Na Young is going to discover this fact first and try and use it to her advantage. Perhaps by trying to cause a misunderstanding between the main leads before this is cleared up. But like I said why did they decide to name her Suji. Was that family a fan of semolina? If it was because they had moved to the States it would make sense if she was using a Western name like let’s say Jessica, Jenny, Tiffany etc something easy for them to pronounce. Suji just seems like a weird choice.

This now brings me up to the second lead. So far, he seems kind of okay. A bit possessive and perhaps a bit jealous but considering everything else he also looks to be loyal at the same time. He isn’t buckling down under his father’s pressure so far to date and marry the girl of his choice. In fact, he even let’s her know that he attended the show with his girlfriend so there isn’t any kind of misunderstanding down the line. We know this is going to cause him trouble down the line but at least he hasn’t done anything major to harm the leads or manipulated the situation to get what he wants. Again, I am not sure what is going to be the trigger factor that will force Suji to break up with him.

As I pointed out he doesn’t seem like the person to be influenced by the other parties wealth so he isn’t going to be greedy in that sense. The family seems well off so I don’t see them getting into financial difficulties that they may be needed to be bailed out by the girl’s family thus forcing him to marry someone else. While it is true that the father has mentioned that they depend on politicians and other sponsors to help run the hospital I doubt that it is going to be that serious. Suji’s family scandal might be an issue where she may be forced to breakup with him.

After all she has been running the household mostly by herself from what we can gather. It has been mentioned that she paid for both of her younger siblings’ classes. The brother at least seems to be grateful in regards to this. She will probably also be the one to clear up the scam that her father has fallen for and caused. It does make sense that the hospital might want to cut ties with her at this point as it wouldn’t look good for them from a PR point of view. Also, another reason why the family would be opposed to her. The chairman has an ego issue plus according to him Suji doesn’t come from a background that could help them financially. So instead of the evil mother-in-law trope we can have the evil FiL trope this time round. Not sure what he will think after he finds out who her mother is. But probably knowing him he would still be against her because this would mean that he will have no chance to be with her mother.

It is interesting to see just how manipulative he is at the moment. From his actions to control his son’s fate, choosing a post at the hospital, to picking a life partner for him. But it doesn’t end over there. He noticed the reaction what his wife did at the anniversary party at the hospital, and he tried to take a page out of that book to make himself look good. Only the people that he tried to involve weren’t as greedy and ambitious as him causing him further headaches. Well deserved mind you. For instance, he is trying to use the singer and Suji’s connection as a PR stunt and not only that he deliberately mentions Suji’s mother and how she is important to him. It is probably well known how he saved her life on his own dime. He was hoping that she would admit it and do some good PR for him. So, the light would shine on him once more and this would show everyone at the hospital that he was still relevant and important.

Well, I guess Na Young thinks that she has it in the bag for a change. From the preview it seems like she finally got the job as an announcer that she dreamed off. Next is her trying to win over Uri. Problem over here is that she is already in the bad books of his sister because she got her in trouble regarding the dress. Now she is being extra rude towards her at this point. This means that when it comes to convince the family she already has someone that is going to oppose said relationship. You can be sure that she might even try and manipulate Suji’s mother against her when she discovers the birth secret because why not. This apparently is a popular trope when it comes to dramas.

Oops while I have more to add I don’t want to get into trouble for writing a super long post which might be boring and all. So I will leave it over here for the time being. And continue my thoughts if I still recall them after someone else posts a few more after me. So till next time.

  7. So, it seems like I am slightly getting a better hang of the characters. Not a 100% but still something. Also it seems like @kboramint  seemed to have helped out a bit by explaining how Na Young was her mother’s daughter prior to her marrying into Suji’s family. While this does explain the animosity towards Suji slightly better the comment her mother made regarding how the grandmother seems to favour Suji who isn’t of her blood was strange. Perhaps I probably misunderstood her reference over here or there was an issue with the subtitles. Need to probably re0watch the scene for confirmation.

Other than that, let’s see what we do have so far. Na Young clearly has a crush on Uri at this point. Not really sure what she thinks by hiding the fact that she is Suji’s sister. She wants to find some dirt on her good luck. But you have to remember that she wants a long term relationship with Uri and might even be considering marriage with him (even if it is one sided) so why hide this fact. You know that Suji is going to be at her wedding as family, so the secret is going to be out eventually. So, I don’t understand why she is hiding this fact. The betrayal down the line is going to be far worse.

Her mother seems way too much of an air head as well can’t seem to see and understand her husband might not be in a good place and wants to spend his money or the time when she takes the bag of clothes from Suji and tells her that she will hand them over to Na Young. If she was going to do that she should have just pretended that the clothes were a gift from her instead of rubbing the fact that Suji has been better than everything to her daughter. Especially when she knows that fact triggers her daughter. Bad mother. :)

Now let’s move onto the rest of the characters.

Second male leads mother has done something because she looks younger and thinner than what I remember her last. (maybe the hair). Not that she looks bad in anyway just different. Now back to the family dynamics over here.

The husband is clearly ambitious and married into the rich family possibly for financial gains. Even though he denies it at the moment. No wonder they seem to be clashing to the point that they sleep in different beds at the moment. But he also seems to have a thing for Suji’s bio mother. Was she his first love (one sided). Let’s look at the evidence that might be supporting this claim.

He performed surgery on her and from what I understand he covered it from his own pocket, and he visits her restaurant as a regular. Not it is totally understandable that he is a kind and generous doctor so he could have performed the surgery for free. But if that was simply the case he doesn’t need to go to the restaurant. That is taking advantage of poor people who he knows are grateful for his actions so they will never refuse him. Now it is possible that he has taken a page out of Miss Otooke book and has agreed to clear what they owe him by agreeing to buy meals to the amount that covers the expense. But the real proof of him having feelings for her is when she hurt her hand, and he rushes up and tries to make a big fuss over it. Then when the guy shows up as well as the little girl and calls her mother, he kind of hesitates. At this point any normal person should have simply entered the restaurant instead of waiting. This shows that he clearly has some sort of interest in her. Not only this but when the guy shows up to serve him his meal he seems a bit disappointed until she shows up. Then it seems like huh you don’t control her that means you can’t be in a serious relationship.

Moving back to his wife. She seems to be extremely understanding towards her son and his supposed love life. She also probably doesn’t want him to make the same mistakes that she did when it comes to marriage. Which makes me suspect that she might have been forced into her current marriage by her parents probably her father. But will she be willing to accept Suji into her family considering all the baggage that comes with her family. Suji as a person seems to be great but the rest of her current family has issues. Her father causing trouble by being part of a scam shows that he isn’t the brightest bulb in town and he may just cause similar problems down the line which may affect the hospital and it’s reputation down the line. Same for her mother and brother. They don’t seem to understand the value of money at the moment.

Oh, the little girl now I know why she looks so familiar. She was in that weird drama Elegant Empire. Did the mother leave her here because something happened to Puppy Oppa and she is out trying to avenge his death.

Uri and his family also need a better explanation at this point. So far the only things that are clear is the guy who works at the restaurant and his sister. Uri and his sister call the female leads mother as their own mother. The age group doesn’t match and as far as i can tell the guy hasn’t been married yet as he only has eyes for Suji’s mother. Both brother and sister are going to be disappointed at her actions for trying set him up on a blind date without considering his feelings. You don’t spring a surprise like that on a person at the last minute unless you want to end it in disaster. Clearly I get what she was thinking on paper but practically it is bound to fail. So has that family been adopting people who are in trouble. I am sure that when Suji discovers that Uri is her mothers son she is going to feel hurt and betrayed until it is explained down the line of how it is all a giant misunderstanding. I also think that the problem with the guy and the mother is also a lack of miscommunication which isn’t helping matters. Clearly, he can tell that the doctor comes over here with other intentions at this point. Instead of telling her this which might help he instead is trying to give him the cold shoulder or telling her that he will handle the situation and that she shouldn’t show up to serve him.\

Why would she listen to him when according to her he seems to seem unreasonable. She also feels guilty that he isn’t  searching for someone else when she has her own baggage from her previous marriage. Unless that is resolved and she fully moves on she has put her life on hold. I am going to assume that they are at least end game at this point. They do make a better couple than her Ex.

Speaking of does she have a connection with the second leads mother. I can’t tell at this point. On one hand it doesn’t seem like she knows the doctor prior to her injuries, and she seems to also not have amnesia so....  it will really help if the two run into each other or we have a near miss showing a possible connection between them. For instance, we had that scene when there was a near miss between Suji and her mother at the hospital (slow mo) clearly indicating that they were connected some how. Not that it helps at this point because they can’t recognize each other due to time that they were apart. We do know that she probably has a connection with Na Youngs mother or are we totally misreading the entire situation.

For instance, we know this as a fact. Her husband cheated on her with her friend and that friend had given birth to a son. We automatically assume that friend to be Na Youngs mother because Suji has a younger brother now as well. (LoL whenever I see her name I am reminded of Semolina and especially Basboosa for some reason. Even though that is very tasty,) But anyway back to the point that I was making. What instead of this being the case how about the reveal that second male leads mother was her friend, and her son was the one being referred to. This probably explains the comment by Na Youngs mother to the grandmother about her taking sides with someone not related to them by blood. If she was Suji’s mother’s friend then she would have known that Suji was related to that family. It also explains why Suji and the other doctor are such close friends. They feel the family connection. We had something like this in another drama as well. I forgot the name at this point (darn it why do i watch so many dramas back then) but it had the actress from that dinner show where people were talking about who she ends up with or falls in love with aka her caretaker. (i dropped that show due to time so I have no idea what happened)

So, what do people think of this theory. It might also explain why the second male lead isn’t ambitious like his father.

Anyway, I have to do other stuff so will leave my post over here for the time being, I do wonder why we don’t have more people over here. This show is quite light especially when you compare it with all those other revenge shows out there. Which i just might need to get back at some point as well. Still, I hope to see more posts so that we can share more theories out here. I need a theory of my own one day that is actually correct so I can claim my drama predication award. Which some of you have already claimed. Please don’t leave me out. :)

  8. So, I was checking out this new drama even though I have a lot of backlogs on other dramas at the moment and even watching some of them. But regardless of all this i still seem to be enjoying this even though some of the character connections seem to be a bit confusing at the moment. Which i find a bit surprising considering that I have watched a lot of these dramas so I should be quite adept at figuring this stuff out.

I even had a theory, but I had to throw it in the bin because of the reveal that is being hinted. My initial theory was that Suji was probably the lost daughter of the doctor’s family. I based it on the following hints that were provided.

The parents clearly have some sort of issue between them at the moment. Clear signs of trouble in paradise. I thought that it could have possibly been because Suji was misplaced while one of them was supposed to be responsible for her the day, she went missing. Probably the father. Hence the hostility and the wife is ignoring him. Not only that but the fact that when the mother went to pay her respects for her father the priest brought in another nameplate for her to pray on. I missed the name not that it would be helpful at this point considering the fact that Suji wasn’t her given name. (Most Likely). As for Suji not eating seaweed soup or the rice balls could be simply because of the trauma that she is associated with but also the fact that they were regulars at a restaurant that served them.

But all of this is moot because we now have a slightly better idea of what happened back then. Not that any of the sibling relationships make a lot of sense at this point. So please help me out over here.

Clearly in this case Suji’s mother is Uri’s mother as well. Sort off. I will get into this in a bit. She left home because her husband cheated with her friend who ended up giving birth to a son. If that is the case, then her brother the rapper makes sense at the moment. Since the grandmother wanted her to raise him if possible. But that doesn’t explain Na Young. She seems like his older sister. So, what happened over here. Did the father end up marrying someone totally different and expects her to raise his kids from different women? But Na Young’s mother seems to have more issues with Suji which makes little sense to me. Just what has she been told at this point. Suji’s mother was someone they knew but she abandoned her kid, so they have been taking care of her out of pity. Because at this point it really seems like she is unaware of the fact that Suji is even related to her family. This could be seen when she mentioned something along the line of Suji not being related to them by blood and the grandmother went along with this.

I just don’t understand the need for all this deception at this point. But anyway I can see some of the connection points that will end up connecting the main characters later down the line. Suji (aka Semolina) clearly suffers from a trauma of being abandoned by her mother (how true that is remains to be seen). Uri and his family also happen to have a little girl in their family with the same issue. This common factor will end up helping Suji and the kid to bond with each other which Uri might just find nice. Not only that but her mother is also probably looking after the girl for the same reason and to make amends to the best of her ability at the moment.

As for that current family it would be actually nice to get a proper family chart between them. From what I can tell the mother clearly isn’t married to the guy in that house from some comment that the grandmother made. I think when the little girl referred to them as her parents. So are the kids from the guys previous marriage or did they simply decide to have some without marriage. This might complicate the relationship between the main leads. Well we know that it should cause some kind of misunderstanding at least or perhaps fuel for Na Young to use to try and break them apart.

After all dramas need their love triangles or squares. In this case Na Young must have clearly fallen for him after her first encounter with him on that island and him helping her out then. Clearly her jealousy and inferiority complex is going to be brought up the moment she realizes that he has feelings for Suji. Of course she has a major hurdle to get over in the form of his sister. She has gotten her into trouble and she isn’t willing to take responsibility for her actions.

Actually speaking of that issue I am surprised that Suji hasn’t done something to bail her out. This brings me up to the other issue. Her father is someone that is equally baffling. He is falling for a scam even when his daughter told him to be careful. I see her having to bail the family out because of his mistake. But someone who seemed to have run his own business in the States? Can’t be really that dumb now can he. How did he manage his business over there then. This reminds me of another drama that I watched a few years back.

The female leads father had an affair then runs of with the woman. Apparently, he used to run his own business back then but he sells it off when he leaves with his other woman (who is the main leads aunt I think). When we next see his he is trying to use multiple get rich schemes which all end up in failure for some reason or the other.  I mean if he could run a company successfully how can he come up with such schemes now which always end up in failure. This totally baffles me.

This seems to be the same case over here. Suji’s father can’t tell that he is being used to run a scam and when the victims realize what has happened, they are either going to demand that he pays up or end up heading over to his daughter to get their money back since he used her as a selling pitch.

I am also not understanding why Suji’s mother is being so hesitant to go on camera if it will help her get reunited with her daughter. Assuming that is the daughter can recognize her even after such a long time. It isn’t like she is running away from loan sharks. It also isn’t the case that she has amnesia at this point also. Since the grandmother (current house) mentioned that after her injury she tried to get her daughter but discovered that they had moved away. (Another misunderstanding like in the previous drama?). either way if the family had nothing to hide then even if she comes on TV what will it matter. It also probably isn’t the case that the husband due to poor business choices took out loans and the loan sharks will come after her to force her to pay them. They haven’t hinted that so far.

Then we have that senior doctor that is the father of the Second Lead. What is his connection to this family. He not only saved her life when she had her accident but also is a regular at their restaurant. Clearly there is more to the story over here as well. Again I find it unlikely that they were having an affair after she left home but thanks to the accident she has forgotten about this. She was heartbroken when she discovered what her husband did to her so I doubt that she would do something like that nor would she have the time to do so if she intended to get her daughter as soon as possible from her last house.  Also speaking of all this brings me up to another issue.

If Suji does have trauma from her mother leaving the house. She should still know that she is biologically related to her current family why doesn’t she speak up when she is being mistreated with Na Youngs mother or when Na Young mentions that they aren’t sisters at all. Granted they aren’t biological sisters but this should probably make them step sisters unless Na Young’s mother is a different woman altogether. (thus rapper brother isn’t related to her as well) but that also doesn’t seem to be the case considering that she seems to treat the brother at least a bit better compared to Suji.

I get her hostility towards Suji and it really doesn’t help that nobody in that family seems to understand what she wants or needs. For example her mother instead of trying to support her dreams is busy discouraging her. Only Suji tried to be supportive. That went as well as expected. Not only that but due to her own actions (though she isn’t aware of it) she lost the chance to get trained by someone that her sister tried to get a meeting with. Not that she will be willing to realize this and blame it all on Suji for failing to keep her promise with her.

Anyway I seem to have a headache now so I will end my post over here for the time being. So take care all of you over here. Let’s see how this show ends up.

  9. So, it has been quite a while since I last popped by. Sadly, been busy and i still haven’t caught up with this show. Regardless i should first of all thank @Ameera Ali for making the gif that I requested. Now moving on to my post itself.

I think that I want to point out that I don’t really feel all that sorry for Noel. She kind of deserves the pain that she is going through. But I don’t think that it has anything to do with Karma as some people here think. Let me explain what i mean over here.

She feels so betrayed over the chairman’s actions especially in regards to him getting married to Da Jung. But here is the thing why was she living back in the chairman’s house in the first place. Remember she was divorced from him because she was fed up with his antics especially when it came to his cheating ways. I like to believe that she was even suspicious of him when he tried to ruin her business thus she was refusing his help. All that she had going was her pride. Then one night she gets drunk that the chairman conveniently brings her back home. After that she simply moved back in. Where is the logic in that. One could argue that she staid back because of Anna. But if we think about it logically that doesn’t make a lot of sense. If she was so attached to her she could simply request Yohan to bring her around a few times and he wouldn’t have refused such a request. Yet she decides to stay back and take care of the house as if she was still married. Granted the Chairman played the game well and pretended to not be interested in any other woman just to win her back. But like i said she should have been aware that he could cheat on her anytime again. Thus I think that she was an idiot and deserves the pain that she is getting now.

Moving on to the next part of this discussion. People think that she is getting the karma that she deserves. For cheating on her husband with Kang Manseok (Seran’s father) or if she should be forgiven for her said actions. To this I ask where is the proof that she did any of this. After all isn’t it Innocent Until Proven Guilty. I can say with 95% certainty that she is probably innocent of this accusation. 5% I am leaving for a margin of error because dramas like to trick us or suddenly change the plot to match their narrative. Now how do I base my current odds. Well for starters there have only been two so called interaction scenes that she had with Seran’s dad. The first was when she was trying to reach for something, and he comes and grabs her from behind. This was when Seran’s mother catches them and starts accusing her of making a move on her husband and pulls her hair. If anyone notes her reaction at this point. She is clearly uncomfortable at him holding her like that. If she is like that then what makes it possible that she would cheat with him or even be intimate. Highly unlikely.

Now I get that some of you here will try and remind me of the next scene where she is actually in bed with him and how can I explain that. My response to that is that the scene is probably a Red Herring. I explained this in an earlier post, but it was probably missed because of my rambling. Anyway, here I go again. That was a scene where Shin Duk Soo was probably imagining what happened. This isn’t the first time a writer has pulled a bait and switch in fact if you think about it this writer has also done it later on.

In that scene we had was Seran admitting to everyone that she was having an affair with Da Jung’s husband. People included over here was her father and Noel as well. People were wondering how either party had failed to recognize the other. Anyway, to cut to the chase it turned out all in the head of Da Jung’s husband. One of them failed to show up for some reason. But the scene makes sense because he doesn’t know that Shin Duk Soo and Noel are related so they would be sitting peacefully.

Another point to notice in regards to Noels innocence regarding the so called affair. She claimed to be innocent. It was Shin Duk Soo who had gotten tired of this drama that he wasn’t ready to believe her. But near the end when he is looking for her again he admits to Da Jung that wasn’t the case and there was a misunderstanding. Further proving that Noel probably was indeed innocent.

Now after all this if the writer decides to make Noel a cheater i will admit that i was wrong. But I still feel like to better understand a scene we should always watch it from the entirety not in parts as things can always change.

Come to think about it the Chairman getting married to Da Jung makes little to no sense. How was it that it took so long for people to figure that out. He needs to redecorate his room for her arrival. Not only that but if anyone were to enter the room they would clearly note to separate beds. A newly married couple should at least be sharing the same bed.

This brings up the point that Noel was also cheating with the chairman. But was she genuinely doing that or just how much aware of she of the so called truth. She may have been aware of him being married but he could have easily lied to her that he wanted to divorce his wife but she wasn’t letting him or that they were in the final steps of divorcing her. Remember this is the same person who is the master at blindsiding people such as marrying Da Jung out of the blue. Also anything that he says has to be taken with a grain of salt. She did figure out that he framed his Ex Wife for having an affair but she pretended to take a blind eye to it. But depending on the lies he fed her she might be given a pass.

Speaking of the so called incident in France where she got amnesia makes no sense at all. Remember we have to take the chairmans word for what happened because she clearly doesn’t. But if she actually thought about it she would have figured that out on her own. According to her their so called love story began when they met for the first time on the flight to Paris where he even gave her his card. Then later on she got into an accident where she was mugged and the only thing that they found on her was his card and they therefore contacted him. My issue with the statement is that if someone mugged her why did they conveniently leave his card on her. A thief is going to take everything of value that they can spot and also where it may be. Now let’s get into this detail a bit further. Where do people keep cards that they just get. Someplace safe and important. Men will keep it in their wallets generally perhaps a pocket, females on the other hand will do so in their bags and purses. A thief is almost always going to target those items. It isn’t like he has the time to carefully search and leave items that aren’t of value to them.

The Ji Hoon reveal of doing a hit and run for Song Yi also doesn’t make sense unless we take Drama Time into consideration. By this I mean that something that should take a few minutes at max turns out into a few hours. Now for dallies that can be understandable due to time constraints but i have seen the same issue for the weekend/weekdays dramas as well. Anyway, let’s get into this for the time being. According to what we were initially informed was as follows. Seran got him drunk then takes him to a hotel room. Where she apparently spent the night with him. Then in the morning she leaves him to return to her home. We know this is a fact because when she arrives home. The grandmother has woken up and is looking for her. She specifically inquires whether or not she spent the night out. She then returns at that point conveniently and mentions that she was with Ji Hoon. When asked if everything was okay she pretends to be coy and rushes to her room. Ji Hoon later on wakes up and head home himself.

Now when we look at the accident that happened it was during night time. How can we explain this time discrepancy. The only thing that comes to my mind is that Seran’s place isn’t near the hotel that they were staying in. So she leaves it taking that time into consideration thus arriving just when it turned into morning. Not really makes sense but we will have to go with that for the time being.

Also can someone explain to me why Da Jung didn’t have a clause to get out of her marriage with the chairman if it was a contract marriage. I get that she was blinded by revenge but frankly I am not fully understanding it. This brings me to a point someone made why does Da Jung keep the person that she knows drugged her still at the office and why she hasn’t had her transferred to some far off place like one of their factories in the countryside. The problem over here is that we as viewers know exactly how that person is guilty. We witnessed Seran giving her the orders. The problem is that Da Jung doesn’t know this fact. I mean she is aware of who did it and why. The logic is simple she knows that she didn’t take any sleep medication and the only time when she could have gotten it was when she took that glass of spiked ginger tea. Easy to figure out but without evidence hard to prove. Now if Da Jung was to transfer her without said evidence the worker could claim that she was abusing her power. If Da Jung would claim that she was drugged the worker could easily claim that it was a misunderstanding and that she was simply being nice when she offered the glass and that it wasn’t drugged at all.

Da Jung’s ex has just gotten worse. I get that the three of them are the comedy relief squad. (His mother, himself and Seran’s mother). Not only that but they are equally as greedy and dumb. He wants to quit work because he is ashamed of what to tell his daughter and wants someone that she can be proud off. Congratulations when she asks him what job he does. Oh nothing i am just a bum in my house. If she asks him how does he plan on looking after her in the future. His response. Don’t worry you have a rich mum she funds my entire living and if that doesn’t work you have a crazy Aunt who loves to pitch in now and again.

Rich Grandmother is also plain weird. She allows a thief to return to work. Her excuse that she needs to be with her daughter because she has never been alone. So wait X amount of years abroad she was living with you?  Not only that but back to the issue at hand. The grandmother is now aware that she is a thief. In that case she shouldn’t be back in a position where she has management rights. At best start to make her work in the kitchen again unless she is going to steal some ingredients again. Perhaps some serious punishment make her do the cleaning of the restaurant.

Speaking of Seran faking her background is that really an issue on her part. Frankly i don’t know what to make of that statement. I mean I get that is a crime. But according to her what actually happened was she was apparently sitting next to a reporter, and she told him that she was a Star Chef. He then decided to print that story. If that is actually true, then the reporter is at fault for not fact checking before publishing said story. Though how he managed to find a decent picture of Seran is beyond me.

Noel;s driver in interesting he seems to have a connection with a lot of characters over here. He knows Da Jung’s MiL because he was in the same fan club with her, he was a fake date with Seran and finally he is Noels driver and has connections with the detective that Noel hired and was bribed by the chairman to quit the search. Now one would think that he would be an opportunist and strike deals with all the wrong people but surprisingly he seems quite loyal towards Noel so far. In fact I even suspected the guy was trying to make money of Noel from her grief of searching for her missing daughter. Such as making a deal with some of the witness he would bring up. But if he is indeed loyal let us hope that he remains like that till the end.

I think that i will end my post over here for the time being. While I do have more to add it has sadly slipped my mind. When i do remember what I forgot I will be sure to add it. So till then take care all of you. If anyone here also disagrees with what i have mentioned let me know.

  10. @Ameera Ali  can you please make one of your legendary GIF images. Over here when the chairman looks at Da Jung and thinks that she looks familiar. Then add him wondering if it is because he may have dated her in in the past/mistress. Unless that isn’t funny enough for the rest of the viewers over here.

@kboramint You asked me if I think that Noel can be like the rich grandmother in Miss Monte Cristo and funding the main leads revenge agenda. I think that is highly possible at this moment. It does depend on a few factors though. So, we need to wait and see how this aligns up.

But regardless of all this, some change needs to be made after Da Jung falls into the water. All K-Dramas work around a predictable formula. So, I will admit that when it comes to these revenge dramas my hours devoted to them may not be as high compared to the other family dailies, weekday/end shows. But I am getting the hang of it. But as any good revenge show happens you need to have a way to achieve it. There can be two main ways to do so. Being sneaky or having enough power to crush your opponent. Seran was clearly the former and to an extent still is.

Therefore, if Da Jung is to defeat her or get any form of justice the playing field needs to be even. Now we know that 9/10 main leads just aren’t smart or sneaky enough to pull off their revenge schemes. Take for instance revealing to the second leads their plans allowing them to find a way to slip out. Also, as we can see Seran has a bit of access to her grandmother’s wealth. Now if Da Jung needs to overcome this hurdle, she will need money of her own. This isn’t something that can happen with what she is currently doing. The only way she gets access to money is if she were to marry Yo Han (male lead) and he agrees to fund her revenge or if she reunites with her mother in some way. I mean the mother can at the start secretly fund and support Da Jung when she discovers the truth and realizes that someone is trying to hurt her. Depending on how the reveal happens and she thinks that is a better way to get close to her daughter or she can reveal the fact that she is her mother and wants to support her. But if I am being honest we get more dramas worth if she is her secret supporter in the start and then Seran discovers this connection and tries to use it as leverage.

Another point that someone brought up was what if Da Jung ends up with amnesia and the main lead lies and pretends that she is his wife. Look I don’t deny that is a good plot I am just wondering how it can be executed. There are a bunch of people who would do their best to remind who she was. They would have to explain her daughter Song Yi unless something happened to her. But then you have her Ex or even Seran who would not want that marriage to take place. Plus, no pictures as proof. Not only that the chairman has already seen Da Jung and is under the impression that she is already married. Depending on how close he thinks he is with his nephew he might bring up this point. Hey, I rushed her to the hospital, and I talked with her husband so how can you be him. She is probably trying to take advantage of you being rich.

Frankly the guy is extremely possessive, perhaps more so when it comes to money matters. This can be seen when he is constantly advising Noel to keep her distance from people because they may try and leech of her. So, we have to ask just why that is. Does he want all of her money for himself, and he can’t afford her to waste it on kindness or is it a matter of control. If she discovers that she can be independent, she will leave him, and this will also result in him losing access to her money.

Seran was kind of fun in the last episode. When she picked up the chairman’s sons phone for a moment she seemed like a high school girl with a crush. To bad it was dashed in a few scenes later. Not only that but he seems to have her number. So good luck getting him anytime soon. Her mother is busy clubbing will she end up getting scammed or will she end up with her BiL. Speaking of Thug, who do you think will end up partnering with him down the line. Noel’s new driver. We have seen him work with the PI and we also know that he has money/gambling problems. The same as the Thug. So, they are bound to cross paths down the lane. Now if both of them have the same agenda then we know what to expect. Either that or one will be the one to slip up and give the wrong party crucial information. But there you have it unbelievable coincidence people meeting. This guy knows not only the PI but is also in the fan club which Da Jung’s former MiL is a part of and now Noel’s driver. I really wish that Noel was a bit more assertive. Because now she is going to be taken advantage of.

This brings me to a point someone made earlier that if Da Jung wanted to know about her mother, she could have gone to ask her former MiL, Seran’s mother etc… as they knew each other in the past and how the MiL doesn’t recognize Noel. Here is the thing in regard to the others (Noel excluded). They knew each other when they were in school. After that as all things happen, they ended up drifting apart for many years until the got reunited again. This time skip is more than adequate for each of them to get acquainted with Noel separately. Not to mention that since Noel conveniently has amnesia, she can’t recall the first meeting that she had with Seran’s mother. As for asking Seran’s mother the answer is simple. She isn’t on good terms with her so she can’t ask her and even if she does, she has to take it with a grain of salt.

Well I think that I will end my post over here for the time being. So all of you take care and let’s see which theory comes out correct.

  11. Okay so here I am back after catching up with some of the points that were brought up by some of you in your previous posts. Though to be fair you all answered them well yourselves.

For instance, I agree with those of you that say that Noel didn’t abandon her family by choice. Her husband had divorced her and had even threatened her that if she tried to make contact with their daughter, he would end up killing them both. Then add the fact that she had amnesia it makes sense why she never realized something was up with her family. The only question that we do need to ask over here is just how much truth is in her current backstory. Such as we are told that she is a famous designer who studied/worked in France before coming to Korea. Did that actually happen or was that simply the backstory the chairman came up so that people’s suspicions wouldn’t get aroused. (whether that was to hide his involvement in her getting amnesia or because her past was unknown).

Now I don’t know if I mentioned this in one of my earlier posts so forgive me for repeating it then. It was brought up that the main lead was dumb to inform Seran that she had a rich grandmother, and his smarts show equally when he mistook Da Jung as a homewrecker. In regard to the former I think that he made the best call given the situation that he had. The grandmother wanted real desperately to connect with her lost family and since her son was dead it would make sense to connect with his family then if he had. Even then he wasn’t just agreeing to the fact that she was the granddaughter he made her take a DNA test for verification. It just so happened that she discovered the truth first and had the results altered. An innocent person would have done the same thing and if the results didn’t match they would have moved on. Seran didn’t want Da Jung and her father to get that because it would mean that the villains (according to her) were being rewarded while the good people would continue to suffer.

Not that she is any good and her further actions so that the truth isn’t revealed she has been doing her best to cause misunderstandings between the grandmother and the rightful heirs. This will bring me up to another point later on.

Moving on to the mistake that he made with Da Jung makes sense depending on his viewpoint courtesy of his interactions with her in the past. The way she coincidentally approached him felt deliberate on his part. We as the viewers knew that apart from her rolling on his bed at the hotel there was nothing wrong with her showing up. But since he didn’t have that luxury, it could indeed seem to him that she was stalking him. He also happened to meet Seran and Second Male Lead and assumed that they were the married couple. Naturally no cheater is going to correct this misunderstanding. So I don’t really blame him in this regards. Though instead of making vague hints he should have been perhaps a bit more open/honest with Da Jung and things wouldn’t have come down to this.

There was also the question as to why the police could mistake Da Jung as a murder suspect in her father’s death. According to the subs there were two possible reasons. The first one that was brought up was that she claimed that Shin Duk Soo was her father but according to his family register she doesn’t show up. This was due to the fact that she was registered under a different name. This problem could easily be resolved by pointing out that they were separated at birth and during this time her name was changed to Da Jung and that they had recently been reunited with each other. A simple investigation into this could easily be verified by the fact that both of them had not only registered their DNA in system to be found and also the station where they were reunited. Probably what must have happened off screen.

The other point that was brought up was the fact that her father apparently had taken out a few insurance policies and had made her the beneficiary. This could be a basis for motive. Unfortunately, Seran didn’t capitalize on this situation. Because she could simply paint Da Jung in a negative light and say that she resented her father for abandoning her as a kid. She was already doing something like this with the grandmother. Of course going over to the cops might have been a bit risky according to her so she dropped it. Either way that plot could perhaps been a bit more interesting. I think that they did something like this in the show Meant To Be. Sadly I never got that far in that so I can’t say how it would have played out over here.

Seran eating the picture of her dad instead of burning or shredding it. Given what she had I have no issue with her action. With humour I say this. It was the safest and fastest way to do so. What would happen if along the way she accidentally dropped the picture or somehow it got misplaced. She would have to explain it. Plus, we know that at times things don’t fully get destroyed even when you shred and burn them. What if the incriminating position (arm and some other identifying parts) didn’t get destroyed and Da Jung or the main lead found said picture parts realized what had happened the game would already have been over. So, in this case she knows if she eats said picture it is gone for good. Not very healthy but let’s go with the flow.

Actually, speaking of the pictures, I have better questions of my own. Why does Seran freak out every time someone shows it to her. I am referring to the doctored picture in this case. If she gets her hands on it she just needs to hand it over to the grandmother. Remember she has the original picture which she stole from Shin Duk Soo. I am willing to agree that as long as he was alive, he could easily tell the grandmother that it was a fake and show his own birthmark to her as proof. But once he passed away there was no way to verify this fact so why freak out when she thought that Da Jung had it as well. Fortunately for her the picture conveniently had a blood spatter on the place where the mole was supposed to be.

This brings me to a drama logic fail which I would like your help explaining. Da Jung’s father not only had a picture album with him but apparently, he also managed to keep other stuff from his past such as Da Jung’s old teddy bear which will surely come into play much later on especially considering the fact that it had that message stitched on it by her mother. So, my  question over here is just how did that happen. He was arrested way back and then he was so busy searching for Da Jung for X number of years till they got reunited with each other. How did he manage to keep all this stuff in one piece. I doubt that he could take these items with him to jail so how were they kept safe. His company had money issues according to Seran’s mother and they apparently harassed her for money that she couldn’t account for. If this is true then it would make equal sense that they would have ransacked his house as well and taken or destroyed stuff over there. so to believe that these pictures or even teddy bear remained intact is a bit hard for me to believe. As is the fact that he somehow managed to keep them safe for so long because he couldn’t possibly take them with him to jail. Did someone perhaps keep them safe for him while he was imprisoned if so will they show up in the future.

The other stuff that I agree with the rest of you is how dumb both Duk Soo and Da Jung are when they confront Seran with evidence of her crime. Of course she is going to do her best to steal or destroy it or any kind of credibility they may have. It is standard main lead characteristics. I am just glad that Da Jung was smart in this case and handed them over to the main lead and nobody would think straight of the bat that it would be there. But just think of what would have been if she played the same mind games with Seran and she was left wondering who could know the truth. As of now she is already aware and will further try and get rid of Da Jung before she can prove her involvements in her crimes.

Seron on the other hand should also watch a few English dramas while she is at it. For instance instead of smashing the phone nuke it in the microwave. Much better to get rid of any data in the phone. As of now I feel like the data can probably still be restored to an extent. Probably not a 100% so that we can have some more plot. But enough to get the ball rolling in the right directions. Also while we are on the topic of that phone I am going to call out bad parenting on the main leads part. His daughter brings home phone and he just wonders what she has. If I brought anything home that didn’t belong to me my parents would have questioned me where and how I got said item. It could even be as small as a sweet mind you. As an adult he should probably be able to identify a real and fake phone. Sure the screen was conveniently covered by stars courtesy of Song Yi but still.. I am sure one gets the idea. Not even sure when his brain will figure out that it is the phone that they have been searching for all this time.

I have also come to realize that Da Jung having her name changed to that is actually a good thing. I think that the chairman knows that she had a daughter courtesy of Shin Duk Soo. Now if anyone tries to search for her, they will be stumped for a time being because of her birthname and not realize that she is the same person. This will allow her to get closer to that family even if it is unintentional and by the time the truth is discovered it may be too late to do damage control. Not only that Noel may reveal to her how she is searching for her daughter and how she has lost her memories. Further allowing them to bond with each other without realizing this fact and if the chairman discovers her and tries to cause a misunderstanding it won’t work.

Now this brings me up to the point of what will happen with Da Jung in her quest for revenge. Her mother is going to somehow discover who she is first. She will then decide to help her take revenge on Seran because she knows how Seran and Second Husband have wronged her. Along the way they will discover that her current husband was the one responsible for all their initial misfortunes. This will then result in all three of them working together (male lead, Da Jung and Noel) in their joint revenge plans.

Other things to add. It seems like Serans mother is going to cause trouble again. I am simply waiting for the fact for Second Male Lead to realize who the junior member on his team actually is. He better have his resignation papers ready. But considering the fact that he needs Seran to bail him out more often than not I am not sure where this will go. In fact, I have no idea where he will end up in the long run. Seran has no intention of returning to him unless he gets custody of his daughter so that she can get her back. Again, not sure how they plan on accomplishing any of this. I mean in theory I can understand what they are going for. But practically not sure if it can even work. If I try to work with the logic that these characters, go with. It would be something like this. Get close to the family. Get enough time to bond with the daughter. Then find some glaring fault in the husband which will result in them asking for a divorce. But they will then ask for custody of the daughter as they have bonded with them to such an extent. In this case, being super rich the court might be willing to go with their plan. (Also taking into account what the daughter wants naturally.)

Okay I think that this covers most of the points that were brought up. Also as it is starting to get cold. I am going to get into a warm bed and snuggle inside a blanket and perhaps watch a show while thinking about some new points to add. So till then take care all of you and keep posting. It seems like this week will be the one where Da Jung is going to take a dip in some freezing water. Will this dull her brains or transform her into an Ice Queen who will get ready to slay her enemies. Stay tuned to find out.

  12. @maribella I totally agree with you Seran probably doesn’t deserve a happy ending considering all that she has done and will do so far in the future. My point in regard to this was more along what k-drama formulas are. The majority of the second leads end up getting forgiven and they also find ways to redeem themselves as well. Now days this seems to change a bit and if the second lead or villain are totally remorseless of their actions then they do tend to get a heavy dose of karma. Take for instance dramas like Man In A Veil the second female lead ended up not only in prison but had a disease that she couldn’t be cured easily and her MiL ended up losing her mind. This was because they were totally unrepentant till the end. I feel something similar is going to happen to the second lead in Elegant Empire. Probably his mother will end up dying and that will make him come to his senses partially.

But then you have dramas where the second lead is totally forgiven which makes no sense like in Heavens Promise. Don’t even get me started on the ending of said show. Anyway, as I was saying for all that Seran has done it was out of a misguided sense of revenge so there is a small chance that she can end up redeeming herself.

As for the points that you bring up especially where she is fraudulently pretending to be the granddaughter of a rich old woman. We must ask why she is doing that. Is it her greed. Sure, that is partially the answer but not the complete answer. The actual answer is that she doesn’t want Da Jung to be happy. She feels that it is unfair that after all that her family has done to hers, they should get a chance at happiness after ruining hers. According to her Da Jung probably had the perfect married life a MiL who cared about her and a husband that doted on her, a father who was a murderer being let go scott free without any consequences and now on top of that they just inherited millions so they will continue to live the good life. Whereas she would continue to suffer. Her mother isn’t the smartest and will continue to get into trouble not only that but because she doesn’t have enough money people will continue to look down on her. Take for example the customer that slapped her when she was working at the nail salon.

So, her taking on Da Jungs spot as the fake granddaughter is her thinking that she is justified and letting karma take place. Now do I think that she will willingly give Da Jung her place once she discovers the truth. Highly unlikely, probably because of her pride and whatnot. But I do think that she can try and make amends of sorts if she has to be redeemed. If not, she can easily go fry. Not that it will bother me in the long run. I am just here to be entertained.

Anyway, I should probably go over all the older posts that I have missed so far and attempt to take part in a question and answer survey. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have fun trying to make some weird sense of the questions that we all seem to have.

For instance, the name that Da Jung and the male lead are trying to figure out Song Si-Yi this is clearly where he misheard her father. The father was trying to tell him that Song Yi wasn’t Da Jung’s real daughter but Seran’s. Unfortunately, he wasn’t strong and clear enough due to his injuries, so it came out as Song Si-Yi. If you try it enough times you can see the resemblance to Song Yi. But that is something only us viewers will realize because of the scenes we witnessed. But since they don’t know any of that they will be busy trying to rack their minds for a solution.

Now I have a few questions of my own as well but first I will try and go back out of respect to other posters here and check if it has been answered. So, until then. Taje care all of you. I look forward to all the theories to come in the future.

  13. Okay so I seem to be enjoying this show a bit more than Elegant Empire for a few reasons. Elegant Empire was kind of fun in the start when it wasn’t taking itself seriously and kind of couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a revenge drama or a comedy or something in between. Clearly the reason that they were probably forced to change the second lead. Sure, it has a bit of overacting at times even now, but it had started to get a whole lot repetitive at this point. Over here the female lead is something that I am sort of enjoying. Sure, she still isn’t the smartest person in town and can be tricked by the villains at this point. But she still has a few points that I can enjoy about her.

For starters the female lead usually played a second female lead in her previous dramas and I think that she still hasn’t fully transitioned to her new change over here. Because of that she tends to at times give back as good as she gets over here. For instance, how many times have we witnessed female leads become doormats and let others throw drinks on them, slap them, or even pull their hair. We see all this happening over here as well, but she returns the favour back to the people that did it to her. So, she gets a few bonus points for the time being. I am sadly waiting for her to become a total damsel in distress (DID as in Hercules) and become dependent on the male lead. Let’s hope that when she returns that doesn’t happen.

Now I know that I haven’t been posting for some time now so things may have already been covered but I will still bring them up. Where do I think that this show will go or end up. I think that we may have an ending like Two Mothers but probably on a happier note. The ending in that show was okay and at the same time it made sense. Though over here things might be a bit different so let’s break things down. Sorry for the show spoiler but you really aren’t missing out on anything in that show.

People have wondered who the actual villain of this show is. Seran or the male leads uncle. The answer is clearly the uncle. Seran is only the villain because she has a so-called bone to pick with the female lead. Plus add in a bit of greed on her part. But if you think about it a lot of it is based on her misunderstanding. Once that is resolved I think that they can sort of mend their relationship. Will it be as it was in the start. Probably not. So, we can either expect this kind of scene by the end. Seran is in prison for the crimes that she has committed in the show. Da Jung will visit her and show her a picture of Song Yi and Anna playing together and having a good time. Aka their daughters. She will point out that if there wasn’t this misunderstanding between them this would have been the natural result. But that since she is Song Yi’s mother, she will be taking good care of her. But Seran can always reconnect with her once she is released. (wait what will the housing arrangements be in that case). Perhaps add a bit of Thorn Birds ending as well. Seran will decide to go to the States and ask to at least be invited to Song Yi’s wedding when that happens and if she decides to study abroad, she can live with her.

Or the other ending is that things are sort of returned to where they belong. Da Jung runs her grandmother’s restaurant while Seran takes over their fathers’ business. This way she isn’t totally unsatisfied with her end life. But a happy ending sort of for both of them.

Now moving on to why the Uncle is the true villain of the show. As of now he really hasn’t changed from what he was from the start given from what the show as revealed of him so far. He is fueled by his ego/pride and greed. Also, from his character description it seems like if he has nine things, he will want an extra thing. To achieve his aims, he will do anything in his power even if that is illegal or ruins the other party. For example, he tends to force people or companies in a corner so that they are forced to accept his offer to bail them out. He then gets them for a price that is good for him but way less than their actual value. He did the same thing with his Ex-Wife. He couldn’t stand the fact that she was the one that dumped him. He then tries to make it seem like there was trouble at her work and whatnot. He wants her to come begging to him for help. It is also the reason why he is preventing her from meeting her previous husband (Da Jung’s father) because he sees her as his toy, and he doesn’t want anyone else to have it. Does he actually have feelings for her is debatable, but I doubt that a person like him can. Not only that but he loves to make enemies. Even at this point both his nephew and others are against him though they don’t openly show it.

I wish that we had more of a backstory over here, but it certainly gives the nephew and Da Jung to team up later on. Anyway, sorry for my rambling let’s get back to the reason why he is the villain over here. As I pointed out his MO over here is that he buys companies for a price lesser than their actual value. We later on find out that he has done the same thing with Shin Duk Soo’s company as well in the past. Interesting because it shows that they have more of a connection than we initially assumed. Sure, he always tries to justify his actions that things weren’t looking for X company and he did things legally. But if his actions were the same as in the past as they are now. Then this takes a totally different meaning. Not only that but even the murder of Seran’s father can be seen in a different light. I had initially assumed that her mother had decided to get rid of her wayward husband. After all, if she could sell of an innocent little girl what was stopping her to do the same for her husband as well. But after finding out that the Uncle purchased the company. Things start to look a bit different plus add in another flashback and his involvement becomes a bit more apparent.

We have Seran over here being with her father who shows her Dream Food and tells her that someday he will be able to work in a company like this. Perhaps it was wishful thinking on his part, or it could be foreshadowing things to come in a bit. Now we have other things to consider why was he murdered. Perhaps because he knew too much, or he was using said knowledge as blackmail. Let’s get into this for a bit. Da Jung’s father noticed that something was fishy in the company’s accounts and automatically assumed that his friend was involved in it since that was his department. He wanted him to turn himself in etc… His friend’s reaction was that he catches on quick (after he had left). Now this could certainly imply that what was mentioned was true or that he just discovered it fast but doesn’t know the full truth. This could mean that he was either involved in the thing or had also discovered this and realized who was responsible. Either way Seran’s father knew too much as well. Perhaps he was using this information as leverage against the uncle which resulted in his death. Perhaps the uncle had pretended to strike a deal with him because he knew that he was the weaker link and that Shin Duk Soo would not accept one. A deal could be that Seran’s father could work in Dream Foods and perhaps even granted a bit of shares in return make it look like his company had issues so that the Uncle could purchase it. But since he now knew this, and the uncle had no intention of keeping his word he had the father murdered.

Once Seran discovers this it might make sense for her to shift her target of revenge. How well will she work with Da Jung at this point remains to be seen as well as how much greed she has at this point.

We also really need to see how Da Jung’s mother ended up losing her memory. One could say that she initially confronted the uncle when she somehow discovered that he was responsible for what he did to her husbands’ company. They had a fight and she ended up getting injured which resulted in her losing her memory. But this also kind of made it look like they were having an affair at that point causing a misunderstanding between people. But he needs to keep her close because of this so he plays along because the moment she realizes the truth she will have him reported and he will end up losing all that he has gained. Plus, like I mentioned he doesn’t want others to have what he wants. After all, why doesn’t he want her to recall her memories. Because he wants her to be always dependent on him. But at the same time there are moments when it seems like he genuinely doesn’t know who she is. Perhaps he is very good at pretending. For instance, he always seems to be worried that she is going through a hard time when he is the one responsible (paying off the detective that she hired to discover the truth), so it is equally possible that he is doing the same when she was wondering about a painting in their house. He asks her that if she was interested, he could investigate the painter. When the clues are that she was the actual painter. So, in this case he could be faking it as usual or he is genuinely clueless as well.

One can suppose that there must be a better backstory for the mother then over here. She may have been a painter briefly after leaving her family then something happened which resulted in her losing her memory and ending up with the uncle. We just need to discover just how much gap was when she left the house and ended up with the uncle to come up with better theories.

Now moving on to other aspects of this show. I get that Seran was desperate for Da Jung to break up with her husband so that her revenge could be completed. Also, that she seems to be a slightly quick thinker some of her plans need to improve because they don’t really make a lot of sense. For instance, when Da Jung is trapped in the cold storage room with the male lead. She takes pictures of them in the morning which show them in a compromising position so to speak. Actually, this entire plot was absurd, and I am surprised it took them some time to resolve that she was involved in it. This is where logic seemed to have failed everyone. If it was to rile up Da Jung’s husband and MiL it worked. Clearly, they couldn’t figure out the truth and those pictures would never hold up in a proper court of law. But hey this is just a drama so who knows over here. Now why this wouldn’t work and why nobody could prove Seran’s involvement is a surprise. Da Jung and the nephew clearly mentioned that they were trapped in that storage room. Indicating that someone had locked them in. I mean who would want to stay in a cold storage area on purpose. So that must mean that they were intentionally locked in. This brings us to the next point. Who was the person that actually found them first. The answer is Seran. Surprisingly nobody bothered to ask her how she managed to free them if they were locked inside. I get that things were a bit hectic back then.

But it would have gotten people to wonder a whole lot more. Sure, Seran could have lied that there was no lock ever and they were making things up. Or that perhaps someone locked them in for a reason but later on unlocked them. Why they didn’t inform others after doing this. Well they should find that person to discover this. Instead, the nephew had to track down her uncle and get a confession from him. Seran probably should have gotten another confession from her uncle at this point that he was paid to confess what he said earlier. Which is partially true by the way. Wait what am I doing over here. Why am I giving ideas to the villain. But like I said she doesn’t always think things through.

Also let’s talk about Da Jung’s father’s accident/murder. Da Jung can really not be investigating stuff on her own and providing the police with evidence. Look that is tampering with evidence and it shouldn’t hold up in a court of law. Seran can clearly claim that she was being set up and that Da Jung has been planting said evidence or stealing it to frame her. Just like Da Jung has already done in regard to the thing that she took from her room. Yes, she wants to use it as basis for the investigation to take place but that should have been the cops department. The same goes for the handkerchief that was found at the crime scene. It is only Da Jung’s word that her husband had it on him that day. This is super problematic for two reasons. The only people that actually know the truth are as follows her MiL and the husband himself and her daughter. Now the first two just need to deny this fact since they don’t want to get incriminated as for the daughter. They can simply argue that she must have been confused. Also, would anyone want a little kid to stand up in court and admit to this. Yes, I saw him with it. Lawyers from their side would try to pressurize Song Yi into recanting her statement by confusing her or making it look like she has a hard time remembering facts. Da Jung clearly wouldn’t want her daughter to go through with that. So this fails.

Now we need to get on with other stuff. But sadly I am not feeling well. The cold is a killer over here as well as me constantly rushing of the toilet for an upset stomach. So I will end my post over here for the time being. When I feel better I will add in more points. So till then take care all of you.

  14. No offense to the fans of this show but I am having issues now. Look people here know that I am generally in for the long haul of a show and yes almost all dramas seem to have a repetitive formula yet we still manage to stick around for most of these shows. But when a plot is not only stretched unnecessarily but also starts to repeat itself in the same show it becomes a small issue. But that isn't my only issue over here. Consistency in a show/plot is equally important and when it can't even maintain that my issues just increase.

In this case let's see what happened in one of the recent episodes. The female lead discovers that her FiL is still alive. She then finds a way to be with him and not only that she secretly brings him out of the room at times so he can have a breath of fresh air as well. Everything seems fine so far. Okay now lets move on to something else which seems to conflict with this. The FiL for some weird reason decides to confront his wife about their sons parentage. She gets furious at this and then decides to starve him. Probably got the idea from Shakespeare. But who am I to argue with one of the greats. But my question then becomes just how is that possible.

Are you trying to tell me that the female lead has become so focused on her revenge that she doesn't care about her FiL anymore. If so then this means that I should lose what little respect that I have for her. Also I wish we had a better understanding of her endgame at this point. I mean we know that she wants her happy ending with her daughter. But she really isn't helping her case one bit. what does she plan on doing next. Now that she knows that her FiL is alive how does she plan on rescuing and revealing him to the world. Is she really waiting for the next shareholders meeting for a major surprise.

In some ways things are kind of obvious of what to expect while others not so much.

For instance since Woo Hyuk has become a major shareholder in Flamingo's company it makes sense that both him and the Female Lead will end up running that company. Sure they seem to have their differences now that he has realized that she was indirectly responsible for the death of his mother. But we all know how true love works in these shows. I will actually be surprised if they don't end up with each other. Not only have they admitted to be in love with each other in the past but her daughter also likes him a lot and the feeling seems to be mutual on his part. So it makes sense that these two are sadly endgame.

Corrupt Politician has to pay for his crimes. I do think that he seems to be showing a bit of remorse in his actions for the death of Woo Hyuk's mothers accidental death. This means that he will eventually serve time. How will he be convinced to take down Flamingo remains to be seen. Do we really need a DNA test between him and Flamingo to go for a shocker at this point. because it will start to seem like we are watching something other than a K-Drama at this point. But like I said we need something with a bang to make this show more explosive and fun.

Also what happened to the chairmans dementia. One of the main reasons for him stepping down from running the company. Instead we get fake amnesia on his part. Was this the magic of K-Drama IV Drip that was being discussed earlier. See what I am talking about consistency in the same show.

Perhaps what we need in this show is more people being get hit by the Truck Of Doom. I know that is harsh of me but even I have my limits. Good luck with this. Also how can characters be so dumb. I know that previews can be misleading and all so perhaps I should hold in my thoughts in regards to this. In it Flamingo is wondering who could have had access to his office and which of the two women in his life could be responsible. Then he finds the video camera behind the painting that the female lead set up. The answer should have been obvious at this point. If the female lead placed the painting in that house there should be no way that she could have missed the camera. So she should be the likely suspect. But he really isn't using his brains.

Come to think about it the show seems to have already hinted at his stupidity and I for one will be laughing out loud when the show goes that route. He seems to be giving his lackey way to much helpful advice. Such as that you should always have a way to save yourself if you get caught in a pinch. Such as having incriminating evidence on your other corrupt partner. In this case he means the corrupt politician. But when his lackey decides to do the same and submits the same evidence that he has on Flamingo to strike a deal for a lenient sentence. I will only have one thing to say. KARMA HAS BEEN SERVED>

Well that should be all from my end. Let's see if I can manage to stick around for this fiasco. Hopefully the next show after this one will be much better. Anyone have an idea what that is. Fortunately we only have 25 more episodes to go over here. Till then best of luck for all of you who decide to stick around till the end. This show is certainly coming under my ban list and not one to ever recommend to others. I think that it is safe for others to know which other dalies I include in my ban list.

  15. No offense but if Jackie even had a bit of sense she should run back to the States. The guy she is madly in love with wants nothing to do with her. Not only that but he has become a cheater. She should be afraid at this point that when the next pretty girl shows up he won't try and run off with her. Simply because he is reminded of something of his Ex. Not only that but he has attempted to kill her once and nearly threatened to do worse to her. Yet even after all this she still wants to return to him and wants to live as a happy family.

Not that will ever happen since both mother and son clearly won't hesitate to have her locked up in some mental institution to serve their own goals. Will that be her actual wake up call. I bet then this is what is going to happen. Given how the show is currently being written as.

Jackie will try to escape the institution and cause some kind of accident. Perhaps a fire. A body will be discovered and for a few episodes everyone will assume that is her body. Meanwhile another woman will pop up that will be a dead ringer for Jackie. But she will claim that she is her long lost sister (wait are they triplets now) or that is a mere coincidence at this point. She will also have somehow recovered a lot of money. Maybe the person who died in the fire was actually a rich person and they had promised to help Jackie get her revenge and thus told her where they had hidden their stash of money thus giving her access to a mini fortune. She will then try and use it to get rid of the female lead again and retake her place in that family.

I mean if the people in this show just try to communicate we wouldn't be having a lot of problems. Perhaps even Jackie could be made to see reason. But at this point I am starting to have my doubts and perhaps do think that she might need to go to mental institution to have her sanity checked out

  16. Speaking of Serin's dad I feel like we should have a pol over here to find out who is responsible for it.

    here are the suspects.

Da Jung's Dad. (Clearly not the case) even though he had motive

    Serin's Mother

    or somebody else

Frankly I think that the motive over here has to belong to Serin's mother. Sure Noel had motive but if she simply hired a hit-man to take him out without any repercussions or finding out the results I am going to be seriously dissapointed in her. To be honest all of the above have motive to have him murdered

But let's go with Serin's mother. I know people might be wondering why she has motive or if this can be when she is currently blaming Da Jung's father for his death. Look she is clearly of her rockers. She doesn't want to accept the responsibility of her actions in anyway. Her husband was trying to cheat with Da Jungs mother and the first person that she decided to blame was Da Jung's mother and not her husband. Was this the first time her husband was caught attempting to cheat with someone or what. But even to this day her blame game stays the same.

Now before I move on to another reason why I don't trust her is as follows. While I doubt that she was aware of her husband stealing from the company she must have had it with her husband trying to chase another woman. Don't know how he treated her at home but the way she was going on I wouldn't be surprised if that was her motive to have him killed. Plus the way her next actions were shown. She clearly knows a few shady people even if they might be related to her. In this case when she had Da Jung sold of to a diner out of spite. She didn't want anything to do with her why. Perhaps because she would be reminded of her actions, her husbands possible infidelity etc.. But if she could be so cold hearted to sell of an innocent little kid I believe that she is more than capable of having her husband eliminated. Even now when confronted with the accusation that she sold of Da Jung she is in denial. Well to be fair no criminal readily admits to their crimes except in truly rare cases. But as i was saying other than that she is still sticking to her story that Da Jung's family is the one responsible for her own foolish mistakes and downfall.

Another interesting point that was brought up over here was Da Jung's husband having that imagination of Serin exposing their affair and that Da Jung's parents were in the room but that they hadn't recognized each other even though they mostly still looked the same apart from having slightly different hairstyles.

Well I suspected that it would probably be such a sequence as it would be way to early for them to meet up and recognize each other. But to be fair after watching Gracious Revenge I have learnt that some dramas still like to throw logic to the wind and be totally absurd in regards to that. Heck in that drama I was slightly even willing to give some of those characters a small pass at certain points after some people tried to explain why the female leads mother wasn't recognized by the other parents. Even though it was slightly absurd. What I wasn't willing to slide in that show was how nobody could recognize Danny in that show to the point that i made fun of him pulling a Danny Kent if anyone recalls. Because that was way more absurd. So if this drama went that route I would have been slightly shocked.

Come to think about it there is another point that is bothering me now. I am glad that someone brought it up because it had actually slipped my mind. Serin apparently impersonated Da Jung to steal her ID Card/Driving License just to get a Credit Card made in her name. Please tell me how exactly this plan of her works. Apart from her committing identity theft there are a bunch of other problems which the show decided not to cover. First of all the card that she stole please don't tell me that Da Jung still hasn't realized that hers has gone missing. If she did what actions has she taken. Probably reported it missing but shouldn't she have tried to figure out how or why it was gone. Then comes the matter of the credit card being made in Da Jung's name. I am slightly confused as to why this was necessary (kind off). Did Serin make a totally different account using Da Jung's name or can she access Da Jung's own personal bank account to take her money. Also what is her main goal in regards to this. Shouldn't any money she spend via the credit card be billed to Da Jung and sent to her home address or has Serin managed to find a way to divert it to her new location. or is that why Serin decided to move into Da Jung's house as well to intercept all of the credit card bills as well as be close to her daughter and Da Jung's husband.

Someone mentioned that Da Jung is going to be framed. What can they frame her for. Serin will plant money in this new account of hers which she made with her stolen identity and make it look like Da Jung has been secretly stealing money and whatnot? Okay if you say so. But who is Da Jung stealing money or even hoarding it for/from.

I also get the feeling that Da Jung's MiL is about to get into some kind of trouble in a few episodes. Now will it be manufactured by Serin remains to be seen but regardless of this I get the feeling that Serin is going to try and take advantage of the situation and perhaps even make Da Jung look bad. It is the only way that family is going to accept her at the moment.

@tulip06 thank you for your explanation. Makes a whole lot more sense now.

I know that I probably had to make some other point. But sadly it has slipped my mind for the time being. So I will probably end this post over here. SO take care all of you and let's hope that this drama is probably better than Elegant Empire.

  17. What I don’t get is the number of crazy obsessive people in this show. Look I can understand shows with the crazy obsessive second leads in a show. But over here we have Seran who is after Da Jungs husband and family and then we have Noels husband or Ex who is to be honest even more confusing. So, let’s try and get into the mindsets of the people.

Let’s start with Serin first. Clearly her initial objectives have changed. She wants revenge on Da Jung’s father for actions he clearly isn’t responsible for. Am willing to sort of give her a pass on that since she has been misled all of her life. But the way she thinks about it is by hurting her best friend because that will hurt her father. So I am guessing that her initial plans were to seduce Da Jungs husband. Da Jung finds out and is devastated. She demands a divorce and just when the husband thinks that he will get a reward for his cheating antics she dumps him. So at the end a lot of broken hearts and I am not even sure if that would achieve anything at this point. Then she suddenly discovers that she is pregnant with the cheating husband. Instead of revealing this she decides to bide for more time. So just wait for the baby to be born and then drop the bombshell. No, she decides to kidnap Da Jungs baby and swap it with her own.

Again, her logic seems to make no sense here. I mean I can sort of understand where she is going kind of but not really. She now wants a happy family of her own. Okay but why go for a baby swap then. She could have simply shown up at their doorsteps a few years later and declared that the child she was with was the cheating husbands. Demand a DNA paternity test and have similar results. Instead, she waits a few years after the baby swap allowing everyone in that house to get attached to her baby. What is her next move going to be. She can’t reveal that Song Yi is her actual daughter without getting into trouble. The child is already in love with her supposed mother. Is she supposed to simply accept her aunt as the new mother even if they end up bonding over a few things. She reveals the truth, perhaps that family accepts her but who knows. So, as I said her obsessiveness to become part of this family is just weird. Pretty sure she is using the standard tricks to lure over the other family members to her side. Give expensive gifts to Da Jung’s MiL because she is aware that she must have never received such things before, use the husbands apparent feelings towards her to lure him in and bond with Song Yi

Now moving on to Noel and her husband. This is just plain absurd as well. Apparently, they have been married and divorced a couple of times now. They are insulting and making fun of something as serious as marriage, which is not really funny. But in this case from what I can see it is all the husband that is obsessed with having Noel as his wife. What I don’t really get is why. If he truly loves her why cheat on her and divorce her. Clearly this isn’t something new. Then after they are divorced, he uses the same dirty tactics to acquire other companies to get her back. In other words, try to ruin them and when their back is to the wall, they come to him for help or accept any help even if it is from him just to survive. But what does he see in her. Does he truly love her, or does he wants her simply as a trophy, what is he gaining from having her around. I wish there was more explanation behind this relationship.

Speaking of Noel and her marriages first to Da Jung’s father and now her current husband or Ex depending how you see that relationship. People accuse her of being a cheater and whatnot. Is that actually true. Because I seriously have my doubts about this statement.

Let’s look at the first case when she was married to Da Jung’s father. We have no actual evidence of this fact. Yes, we had a small scene where we are shown her sleeping with Serin’s dad. But I am going to say that isn’t sufficient for me. I will get to that in a bit. Or maybe just go with this train of thought and tell me what you think.

Serin’s father clearly had a thing for her back then. His wife did catch them in a sort of compromising position. But to me it looked like she was uncomfortable when he was holding her like that. The problem here is that she didn’t say what happened I suspect for two reasons. The first was that she really didn’t get the chance and opportunity to do so. Serin’s mother started to accuse her without listening to the facts and that her husband could have been at fault, and tried to attack her etc… The other reason probably was because he was her husband’s best friend and business partner, and she didn’t want them to fight because of her. We then get the supposed scene of her sleeping with Serin’s father and him telling Da Jungs father about it.

Now here is the reason why I doubt the validity of the scene. Since the friend was the one that was mentioning it and we got it like a flashback I believe that as a narrator he isn’t very reliable. Unless he was actually caught in the scene, we can take it with a grain of salt. One must note two things in this case. The first one was that he was probably extremely jealous of Da Jungs Father. He would therefore say or do anything that could hurt him at this point. Not only that but the second point is that he was also not extremely trustworthy as it turns out he was stealing from the company. If you also add in the factor that he probably liked Noel as well. (perhaps she was his first love) Then it does make sense that he could easily lie to Da Jung’s father about him sleeping with his wife just to hurt him. With their divorce he was probably happy. Come to think of it, Serin is just like him in that department. Also, even if those two slept it could have been taken out of context. I mean if Serin is going all those ways to steal Da Jungs husband and family I wonder what her father could have done to hurt Da Jungs father. Such as perhaps he had drugged her and timed the situation to make it look bad for Noel just so that she would be forced to divorce her husband.

Another thing regarding Noel. Da Jung’s father keeps blaming her as a heartless woman who should have searched for Da Jung. But since she didn’t even register her DNA, he is more disappointed in her actions. But doesn’t he realize that he himself is responsible for that. He threatened her to get a divorce and that if she tried to see her daughter aka Da Jung he would kill them both. So why would she risk that. Not only that but she also moved away from that town and Serin’s father was involved in an accident after that. So, she wouldn’t be aware of the fact that Da Jung was separated from her father. She left her with him because she probably knew that she would have been taken care of and loved by him no matter what. This would have been true if he hadn’t been framed for the murder of Serin’s father. So in this case I can understand her not searching for Da Jung all this time. But I do wonder what role she is going to play in the future.

I do understand the male leads issues with Da Jung but to be honest they are getting tiring. I mean why does he simply assume that she is the one her husband is cheating on instead of Serin. It isn’t like he was at his wedding ceremony or something along those lines. Well either way Karma has caught up to him as he is probably raising her daughter. Assuming we follow k-drama laws. How this will be revealed remains to be seen.

Anyway, got to go for now. Let’s see if this drama is worth it. Watching the other drama that I was watching has become way to repetitive that I am seriously thinking about dropping it. So, take care all of you. Do let me know if there is any other drama that I should give a shot.

Really is this some kind of K-Drama I would have suspected that this would be a revenge genre. but I must be mistaken

  19. So, the first thing for me to note is that they finally replaced the actor for Flamingo. Though to be fair the scenes that they tried to re-edit him in weren’t all that great especially if we notice the courtroom scene where the female lead ends up with her miscarriage. If we look at that scene, we can still see the original actor in the background. But enough of the mistakes and let’s get on with the show itself.

Folks I really don’t want to say this, but this is actually a good time to drop this show because at this point it is literally starting to get repetitive. Now I know people say that if you have 10 of these shows this is normal but that isn’t what I mean. Over here they are literally reusing the same plots from this story itself. Come on please get more creative. Not only that the priorities of some of these characters are just plain weird. Will also get into that in a bit.

But let’s start with the actor change. Apparently, it came more than just that. He gets not only a wardrobe change but also an attitude change as well. Killing people seems to be a walk in the park for him. Granted he works through a proxy but still. Not sure what I think of him now. But regardless at this point I think that we can all agree that he is a really terrible person who probably doesn’t deserve any redemption. Sorry but I can’t buy the excuse that I was treated terribly so I did xyz.

So now you must all be wondering how the story is repeating itself and how we could have finished it quicker. Let’s therefore start with the fact that he Flamingo is sending one of his companies actress to be with other politicians. The same thing that he did with Eun-Ha. She is also starting to feel depressed because of that. Fortunately, I don’t think that she will die but still. So, I guess we know who is fully responsible for Eun Ha’s depression or death at this point.

Actually, this brings me to another point so forgive me for switching tracks. While reading the earlier comments I noticed that people were guessing who the mystery person was in the secret room. Which we eventually discovered to be the chairman. I have a fun thing to say about it which resulted me in laughing about the result. Like literally five seconds before the reveal I made my guess that it would be the chairman. I didn’t think that they would reveal this so soon. Only to find to my surprise and amusement that I was correct in my guess about the chairman and that they decided to prove me wrong and decided to reveal him at just that moment.

To be honest he was a logical assumption if we base it of a few simple facts.

As pointed out by the posters over here, hiding the identity of the person is a classic trick to not let people figure out who the person really is and from someone we already know. This led to three possible options. Eun Ha, female leads sister and finally the chairman. Following this we need to realize that this show isn’t a horror or sci-fi show sadly so this automatically should eliminate the first two options. Let me explain.

Both of the former two need to be dead for good reason. It is the motivating factor for the actions of CEO Na and the female lead to take revenge against Flamingo. So, in other words their deaths need to be confirmed. This is also seen by the fact that Na rushed both woman to the hospital as well and confirmed their deaths. He was at Eun Ha’s funeral and Flamingo and family were totally unaware of her death until he brought it up. If she was actually alive his revenge would not have so much merit and perhaps the audience might even start to pity Flamingo. The same can be said for the female leads sister. Her death was one of the motivating factors that the female lead uses to get revenge on Flamingo to the point that she is tricking people into believing that her sister still is in the States undergoing treatment.

Actually, do you think that simply sending one Deep Fake video should be enough? She should probably do a whole lot more. But let’s ignore that for the time being.

So, as I pointed out this sort of eliminates these two for the time being. The other point is who would Flamingo want to keep in his secret room as well. Eun Ha would only be there if he had some kind of perverse nature and was keeping her body as a trophy, or in some kind of preservation maybe he wants to clone her body and get back with her. If she was already alive that would make it even worse. So, in other words, couldn’t really be her. As for the female leads sister, we already know for a fact that she was dead. Fortunately, she wasn’t able to be identified but even then, why would he keep her. It would only work if he knew for a fact that the female lead was pretending to be someone else, or she was still alive. Then I could perhaps understand his motivation in keeping her sister as a potential hostage. Perhaps this could even have made the story more interesting. But alas this is not the case. Not only that, he doesn’t even like or have feelings for either sister. Compared against perhaps Eun Ha.

In other words, the only option remaining had to be the right one. But to be fair K-Drama logic should never be compared to actual logic. Because now I am actually wondering how he faked the chairman’s death in the first place. But I guess I will figure it out later on by perhaps rewatching episodes that I missed or fast forwarded.

Now back to things that the show is repeating. Jackie is pregnant. What a surprise. But how she is going about things is amusing to say the least. When the female lead returns with her new identity she approaches Flamingo and Jackie eventually finds her is a sort of compromising position. Well she feels like hey if that trick worked once why don’t I do the same. Next thing we know is she is doing the same thing. Probably worse since she is actually caught kissing Flamingo. regardless of the fact that he was forced to do so. Female lead tried her level best to cause issues between Jackie and Flamingo so that they were forced to breakup. Well, she has been taking notes over here. I will do the same. Will pop up unannounced or leave my stockings to cause misunderstandings etc..

Do we really need all these repetitive scenes. I don’t think so. Look I get it that it may seem unbelievable that Jackie is still madly in love with Flamingo even after he tried to kill her and whatnot. But apparently when someone is in love, they do weird stuff. I actually heard something in real life. Someone’s Ex-Wife is contacted to find out that the person contacting her is her Ex’s current wife. They talk. The current wife isn’t so happy, so the Ex advises her to get a divorce and move on. But the wife responds that they have already invested so much in her life she can’t think of not only doing that but that she is sure that it can work out because she loves him. So, Jackie’s behavior doesn’t come of strange to me after hearing such a tale. Had I not heard of it then I would have agreed why does she still want to be with him. Raise your kid all alone like other single mothers or move on.

Okay you must be wondering why the priorities of these characters isn’t correct. The female lead is trying to get evidence to bring Flamingo down. To the point that she decides to move into his house to do so. Okay no problem here but I do wonder about her IQ level at times. First, we have her thinking that she is Wonder Woman. Comes to the rescue of an old lady that Flamingo has abducted of sorts. Nothing wrong over here. But after getting her in the car she notices that she is being chased by Flamingo’s trusted right-hand man/thug. The smart thing to do would be to get into the car as well and escape. Instead, she decides to run away allowing him to nearly expose her. What was she thinking. That she could outrun or overpower the guy because she had superpowers.

Moving on to her intelligence issues. She is searching for evidence in the house, so she uses an elaborate ploy to get a couple of hackers to break into Flamingo’s computer but finds nothing. Okay I would normally have no issues with this plan but that is until we realize she could have done one better. We know that she is aware that the chairman is still alive and hidden in that house. She also suspects where. A better strategy over her would be to try and break him out. All she needs to do at this point is get the chairman to do a press conference and not only is he not protected but his current family can do absolutely nothing about it. I guess they are planning to expose him at some meeting at the company for similar results. But hey you can do both things just go with whatever timing is better.

Don’t say that this isn’t possible. Puppy Oppa’s uncle is a former cop he must know people in this line of work or even a locksmith perhaps who can break down that door. Even if Flamingo has alarms set up by the time he probably arrives or sends someone it should be too late. The more she delays he will have time to set up counter measures. Now people may try and argue that her former MiL is still in the house. I am sure if the female lead was actually smart, she could find some reason for her to briefly leave. Perhaps a decoy message. Since the female lead doesn’t necessarily have to be there for the rescue. Sure, it would help. But even then, she can for instance use Flamingo’s phone and use it to ask the MiL to go get something as it is important, perhaps some documents. Or she could use it for herself. Then while she is out delivering them Operation Rescue Chairman can take place.

Instead, her priority is to find other evidence. Which I don’t deny could be important to take Flamingo down. But let’s see what he can be charged with and what he can get away unless the evidence against him is solid. I think at this point we can all agree that his past embezzlement issues might not be so valid because the chairman foolishly covered it up simply because he was his son or didn’t take any serious actions. Had this been real life and he not be related to the chairman the company could take serious legal actions against him. As of now he probably doesn’t need to steal company funds so we should probably ignore this until proven otherwise.

The attempted murder on people is sadly not going to stick. The chairman is still alive as is the female lead. He could probably be charged with manslaughter I guess for her sister. But even that may not stick. Why is this. Well first of all there is no proof linking him to any of this. Apart from the chairman he was never at the sites of the accident personally. Both of the sisters first accident and her fatal road accident as well. Does he have motive true to an extent but without evidence motive doesn’t mean much. What is worse is that if things seem really bad for him, he can throw the actual perpetrator under the bus. After all he actually did all the dirty work over here. So unless he has some kind of recording or evidence saying otherwise Flamingo is probably going to get away with this scott free.

But when it comes to his father things are a bit different. He has kept his father in captivity for some time now. That is probably a solid kidnapping charge against him. He can’t even lie and say that it was for his own protection because he faked his death. Everyone involved in that committed a crime. Not only that, but it was also a murder case to boot. So, a lot of people are aware that he was declared dead. So, this isn’t going to work. In this case he has to pay the piper. Will he go to jail or be slapped on the wrist remains to be seen. But at this point the sane thing to do is the chairman should get a restraining order against his current family after they are exposed and perhaps even some sort of protection until they are punished properly. Alas this being a drama don’t keep up your hopes too high in regard to this.

So, it has finally been confirmed that Puppy Oppa is indeed the corrupt politician’s son. Now the only thing remaining over here to make it more amusing is the reveal that the politician is also Flamingo’s father. I know that this will never happen. But hey why strike out now with the absurdity factor. But overall, I am not so sure what angle the writer was going with this reveal. I mean sure I suspected that, but the reveal was a whole lot confusing in a way. For instance, I can get why he was the father here and why he may have been sort of hesitant to admit this. Even him wanting to have the kid aborted I can understand. What I don’t get was one of his statements. Turns out the guy was recently married. So, wait he wasn’t living with Puppy Oppa’s mother, was she his girl on the side and she was initially not aware of his marriage. Did he suddenly decide to get married and not let her know until he decided to give her the breakup news and she informs him of her pregnancy? I also understand that would make him look bad if people found out but still.

Also, just how easy is it to find dirt on other politicians yet none of his rivals have ever decided to do a through background search on him. Just how well has he been living his double life. It should be fun when Flamingo discovers this plot and tries to blackmail him with said details.

Flamingo revenge plot is way to weak on CEO Na. He is just bitter that Na reported him to his father, so he decided to ruin his life and steal his girl. Oh, please grow up. It will certainly be more amusing if we later on discover that Na wasn’t even responsible for that in the first place.

Now remember when I earlier brought up the fact that the corrupt politician and Flamingo could be related. Sure, I was joking but one can’t deny the fact that they have similarities. Though to be fair that can probably be explained by the fact that the politician was grooming him for ages by taking advantage of his insecurities and all. But if you don’t like that then one can assume that they are so close because they are related.

Do we think that the female lead sort of feels bad for Jackie at this point. I really hope that she tries to at least beat some sense into her. After all, after her sister’s death she at least managed to wake up. I do wonder what could snap Jackie back to reality. I can totally understand why she suddenly values family but even then, this is too much.

So here is what I suspect is going to happen by the end of the show. Jackie is probably going to end up with Na. They do tend to care about each other to an extent. While he doesn’t get the girl he liked he will end up with her sister. They can quietly raise her child and look after her mother. Be happy I guess. She also will apologize to the female lead for trying to ruin her life.

Bitna is harder to figure out at this point. Regardless of her actual parentage I doubt that she will end up with Puppy Oppa. Perhaps when she figures out that her dad was responsible for both his upbringing and what he did to his mother she may even decide to help them out get crucial evidence against him. Remember the Female Lead has pointed out that criminals can never trust each other and that they always have some kind of insurance plan to use against their partners if things look bad for them. In this case she is certain that both Flamingo and the corrupt politician are the same and she is searching for them. It would therefore make perfect sense if Bitna was on their side because she has no means to get said evidence. Unless Puppy Oppa decides to pretend to like Bitna just to get access to her house. That would be cruel on a whole other level. Therefore, I can see Bitna be more willing to help them for her own reasons and the best way would be her discovering her fathers’ actions. She is already sort of against him because she has a general ideal of what he is like.

Senior actors might end up back together because the corrupt politician needs to go down. To be fair his wife can also join team Female Lead/Puppy for a few reasons. Especially if she discovers her husband’s betrayal. But also, because senior actors current love interest has terminal cancer. This means that she may last till the end hopefully. But her time in this world is limited. If as some people are suspecting that Bitna is the Senior actor’s daughter then it is another reason for him to get back with his Ex-Wife. Plus, that is something Puppy Oppas mother would approve of. Him taking responsibility for his actions. Come to think about it, Bitna is probably indeed their daughter. She doesn’t seem like her father in any way so far. She doesn't approve of his lies. Well, she did lie about her identity but I guess we can give it a pass since she didn’t want to live under his roof. Even if they don’t end up together, I guess they can at least remain as better friends at this point.

Though to be fair how is it that these women managed to get pregnant with other people’s kid and weren’t the wiser. I mean Flamingo’s mother always thought that her kid was the chairman’s biological kid until she decided to get a DNA test which said otherwise. What got her suspicious enough to do that. Was the chairman not aware that she was initially seeing someone else. How soon did she break up with Flamingo’s father and marry the chairman. Sorry but I don’t feel sorry for her one bit. She seems to have passed on her ruthlessness onto her son. She has said so that if the chairman doesn’t treat his son properly now, she might do something extreme. Her son has already crossed that line.

Other than that, the only other plot line that really needs to be resolved is the one regarding the hidden CCTV that the chairman gave to his granddaughter for protection. Who is going to discover it first and how. Also, just what is on it. Frankly it better be more than Flamingo attempting to murder the chairman. At this point I want him confessing to numerous other crimes of his when he thinks that the chairman was sleeping and not aware of his actions. That would be way more fun. Also, I just realized that the chairman should have dementia or the starting of it. It was after all one of the reasons why he had that secret camera installed and whatnot. Also, why he wasn’t taking such an active part in the companies’ management. Yet now it seems like after his coma he doesn’t have amnesia, but his mental state seems to be a whole lot better. The joke of the magic IV makes more sense now.

Anyway, I have to go now. Have a sort of mini headache. So will go rest. Till then take care all of you and keep posting. Though I am seriously thinking about dropping this show at this point. I just don’t have the time I once used to have.

  20. Thanks for the invitation, guys. So hard to remember all these details. My memory is so terrible these days that if someone were to ask me what I had for lunch at dinnertime I would have already forgotten about that. These are shows and some that I haven’t even watched. But I am more than willing to give my grey matter a charge up. Wish me luck as I will do the same for the rest of you.

    Don’t know. Never watched this

    Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

All the answers seem correct to an extent. While I don’t know about the second one. I do know the first one is that she did base her main character after someone but wasn’t it the secretary of the male lead. Or are we talking even before that? I really can’t remember if a character was based on someone. Sorry. As for the last point, that might be debatable. Doesn’t she briefly lose her powers because she hurt an innocent being. Isn’t that the actual criteria for losing their powers. I mean if you think about it… never mind. If anything is a lie it is probably this one.

    3. Woo Young Woo - Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Didn’t get to watch this show as well. Even though it is on Netflix.

I just know that the first part is probably true as that was shown in the trailer. But does she do that every time I can’t be certain, but I would assume that is the case.

    4. Kang Mo Yeon - Descendants of the Sun

Don’t remember much of this show. I do remember her stepping on the mine, I just don’t know if it was on the first day though. Was she infected by a virus that bit is a blur. The final confession seems to be the statement that seems like a lie to me. I do recall her doing an interview and the person did ask something along the lines about if she was dating someone. (That line was added at the last minute if the rumor I heard is to be believed and the female leads response to it. Also, I think that she had them added) so I don’t think her confession was leaked at this point.

    5. Shin Ha Ri - Business Proposal

While I don’t know who Samantha and Rachel are I am going to assume that the first statement has to be a lie. The female lead was clearly employed at the time. This was one of the reasons that she was so frustrated when she meets the main lead and realizes that he is her boss.

    6. Yoon Se Ri - Crash Landing On You

Don't know about this show. Since I haven’t watched it but I am going to assume that the lie is either the second or third statement. I do know from what I heard that she ended up in North Korea due to a faulty para-glider I don’t know if it was intentional sabotage. I wouldn’t be surprised. The second can be possibly true after all how can you trust someone that you have been taught that is your enemy for a long time.

    7. Naksu - Alchemy of Souls

I think the second point has to be a lie. Tansu was her trademark move. Third point is definitely true. first point I can’t be a 100 percent sure.

    8. Jang Bong Hwan/Kim So-Yong -  Mr. Queen

Sorry no idea. Haven’t watched this show.

Moving on to the actors side  now.

    1. Lee Gun - Fated To Love You

Don’t know as I don’t think that I have watched this show as well

    2. Park Si On - Good Doctor

I know for a fact that the first one is true. The second and third are hard to figure out. I know that he does have mild confrontations with the other doctor. But he wasn’t a love rival because he had a love interest of his own. So probably this would have to be a lie. Also wasn’t he the one who was telling the main lead that it was okay to call him big brother when they were alone. Sure it was later on. So it seems like this statement is probably the lie over here.

    3. Do Kyung Seok - My ID Is Gangnam Beauty

I have no idea what happened in this drama at this point. I just know that he knew the female lead even before her transformation and he liked her even back then. Basically he saw her inner beauty which he fell for. Other than that I don’t recall any other facts.

    4. Jang Jun Woo  - Vincenzo

Sorry again a show that I haven’t gotten down to watching. Apart from the first episode. So no idea.

    5. Kim Shin – Goblin

I am going to go with the first one as a lie. While it is true that he died I don’t think it was unfortunate. He was murdered/executed so I can’t consider it unfortunate. Also he was thrown away after that. Was it a buckwheat field I can’t recall. The third one just seems odd. If you have been living for so long I would be surprised if he doesn’t understand current technology. If he was the fish out of water and had been transported to the future it would make more sense. So this could possibly be a lie as well. But then again there are people who don’t know much about technology….

    6. Cha Do Hyun (and his other personalities) - Kill Me, Heal Me

Again, another show I never got down to watching. I did read the full recaps of it on dramabeans but the details are sadly forgotten in the sands of time for me.

    7. Choi Young – Faith

Did everyone in the male leads group have superpowers. I just recall him having lightning/electricity powers. He also must have been a fan of Captain America but that’s about it. Apart from that the villains also had superpowers except for their leader who only got them near the end. So, if I were to go by this then I would assume that the second point is probably the lie.

    8. Hong Doo Shik - Hometown Cha Cha Cha

The first statement is a lie. He was someone who was in the investment department or something and that is why the guard ends up dying due to investing in a high-risk investment. Even though he advised him against it. It is his death why he moved to that village.

Well here are my answers. Not that they are as good as the last event that I took part in. oh well. I guess I should try and make more time somehow and watch a lot of good dramas especially those that are on this list.

Anyway looking forward to the correct answers. Best of luck to the rest of you.

  21. @LeftCoastOppa you have left me laughing in stitches. When you said that it isn’t like Flamingo is going to run off with bags full of stolen money that is the exact image that came to mind. What with him in his Joker outfit and all. So, thanks for that I needed some laughter in my life.

People have wondered how the female lead could invent herself as a fake heiress and nobody gets wiser to this plot until much later on. My thinking is that she could probably pull it off to a small extent. First of all, we have got to love pages like Wikipedia where anyone can edit said pages. Not that they used it over here. But we do start with a bit of research to see just who can match her particular requirements. They would be as follows: First find a rich recluse. Because you don’t want your potential parent to be up to date and discover that someone is claiming to be their daughter. Get ready to face a lawsuit for fraud. Someone who doesn’t know what is going on might be to your advantage.

Second ensure that said person has at least one child of the proper gender. So, if he has no known children or they are all males your plan is going to fall through again. The more children or even daughters he has it is going to get riskier so try and keep it simple. Her supposed father only has one daughter fortunately. So, chances of her getting caught gets slim.

Now because of this the only picture they have of her supposed father is from an old article. Thus, if anyone impersonates him, they might not have a good idea of what he looks like now. They will simply assume that he is the correct person. Second people may try and argue that her supposed father has a daughter, but she has a Japanese name something the female lead isn’t using. Again, to her advantage mind you. The general excuse that she can come up with over here is that much like how foreigners sometimes use a western name so that the others have an easier name to call them by and not butcher their original name. this can clearly be seen by a few actresses who have lived/worked in America eg. Kim So Hyun (Claudia Kim), Eugeene (not sure of her original name) and Park Min Young (Rachel). So therefore, people aren’t going to automatically make the connection with the original heiress. For instance, when Flamingo had his guy do a background check on the female lead and her father, he was informed of the actual daughter’s name, but he automatically assumed that was the female lead who was using a Korean name.

Another thing to note it isn’t like the female lead is going around telling everyone that she is x’s daughter. Just a few people are aware of this supposed fact. Making the deception more believable. At the most she is saying that she was friends with the female lead and that they look exactly alike. Such as when she meets Puppy Oppa’s mother again. Any other assumption is made on other peoples’ own part. It is also the reason why she had to get someone to portray himself as her supposed rich father. Na Entertainment is in a pretty bad shape when it comes to finances. It has been said that they don’t have any money to perhaps pay their staff. This is bad, especially when you consider that they barely have anyone working for them as it is. The entire staff is also forced to live in the same place. To be more exact at CEO Na’s place. Therefore, it would be a matter of time before one of them would have suggested to the female lead to have her supposed father to invest into them. The aged senior citizen even suggested something along those lines to Flamingo. So to prevent that she calls up a probably fake actor to make it seem like she is cut off from her wealth to make her current situation more believable but also so that they can’t suggest it as well.

Also, all of this probably prevents her into getting in any kind of legal trouble from the actual Japanese business tycoon and family as well if she gets caught. It isn’t like she is using their names to get bank loans and whatnot. If she does get caught at the most, she will have to pay a fine especially if she can prove that the others simply misunderstood what she said. She also shouldn’t tarnish their name etc…

But regardless of all this it seems like she probably has to get her revenge in a specific time period. Her sister is supposedly still in the States getting her treatment. That means once the time period is over people will expect her to return. Once that doesn’t happen, people might actually start to get suspicious. Also has nobody thought about informing the supposed sister that the female lead has passed away in an accident. If they have then again why aren’t they surprised that the sister didn’t return for the funeral or at least after some time. In other words, no response from her should be a bit suspicious as well.

Okay moving on to another topic. People are still wondering if Puppy Oppa’s mother might also be Eun-Ha’s mother as well and thus by extension Jackie’s mother too. Perhaps that is the case. But after watching episodes 26 (currently on) I am 90% sure that he is related to the corrupt politician instead. We should always have room to doubt mind you and dramas tend to pull a fast one over us viewers at times. But let’s look at the supposed evidence or rather K-Drama Tropes that probably apply in this case.

Korea is an extremely small country. To the extent that your next door neighbour could be related to you.

We have already seen this numerous times in these shows. Simply look how everyone currently related are living in a single house/s (Na Entertainment are all living in Na’s house), we then have Flamingo and his family and finally corrupt politician and Puppy Oppa’s mother with her brother. Even in Na Entertainment we have lollipop girl who it turns out is the corrupt politician’s daughter. So one gets the idea.

This also means that we may have already been introduced to his father. Moving on to another trope.

Main leads generally are raised by a single parent/family member.

In this trope either one parent/family member is confirmed dead and if that is the case they are raised by grandparents or someone close to them while the other parent is MIA or they are raised by their alive parent with the same case. The other parent it then turns out has been alive all along but has their own/new family that they are quite close to.

Over here let’s go by an elimination process of who could be his father and what are the chances here.

Dead Chairman. Well, this would bring up another trope altogether, but we can overlook that for the time being. But other than that, it seems like he may be bothered by his current family, but it is highly unlikely he would want to do anything to cause a scandal. He was furious when Na mentioned that Flamingo had not only impregnated Eun-Ha but also sent her over for sexual favours to politicians. Regardless of how true that was. He felt that issue if revealed would cause his brand name which he had worked so hard would be ruined. So, I doubt that he would do something like that himself.

Senior Citizen Actor. He could be sort of the father. We do know for a fact that he had an affair which was one of the reasons why he ended up getting a divorce from his wife. He also happens to be quite close with Puppy Oppa. But I doubt that he is because I will be bringing the elimination process for this in a bit. In fact, let’s just get into it first.

While you are the main lead there are two more factors to consider but I will get to them later on. Let’s move on to his mother for the time being. If we apply the first trope to her, we discover that she is working in the same building as her son. Now the only two people that can be his father due to this elimination process would be the corrupt politician and Senior Citizen Actor. Now I can’t be sure if she saw him while working but she definitely must have been seen by his Ex-Wife. If the husband had been having an affair it is highly likely that Top Knot Lady would have recognized her and made a comment in relation to it. As to how/why are you working in this place. Didn’t happen. Not only that but his mother has also not conveniently run into corrupt politician as well. Thus, my suspicions are raised.

Another trope to consider is that male leads and second leads are usually related and can be considered to have sibling rivalries and other factors to make the other one jealous. Usually this can be seen when the biological parent meets their child, and they have an automatic connection with them. This makes the current child jealous and all. Part of this trope can be applied while the other half is subverted. Flamingo and Puppy Oppa certainly don’t get along for various reasons. One of them does happen to be the female lead. While the corrupt politician isn’t Flamingo’s father, he is considered to be a close second. So, this trope can still be partially applied over here.

The only part of this trope where it doesn’t match is that Puppy Oppa and corrupt politician don’t have the hidden family bond connection. But this shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point. Corrupt Politician is like the Emperor Palpatine corrupt and is busy converting his current disciple Darth Vader aka Flamingo to the Dark Side. (Wait that might be an insult to Vader) but one gets the idea hopefully). Puppy Oppa on the other side is on the Light Side of the force so he isn’t going to be corrupted so easily and can sense the darkness in the corrupt politician. So those two will constantly be at odds.

Perhaps when the corrupt politician realizes that Puppy Oppa is his actual son he might try and backstab Flamingo. Actually, come to think of it a seed has already been planted in regard to this. Didn’t Flamingo once say that since the corrupt politician has no sons and only daughters there is a very good chance that he is going to leave a bunch of his wealth to him because he is like a son to him. But once the Corrupt Politician discovers the truth this won’t apply anymore, and it makes more sense that he leaves some for Puppy Oppa thus spoiling Flamingo’s master plan.

Okay, while I have more to add I will be leaving now because I am feeling sleepy and then catch up on the remaining episodes. Till then take care all of you.

  22. so, it seems like things are getting interesting over here. But because of that it seems like I should first of all apologize to anyone over here if any of my comments seem to have offended them or like I don’t have an open mind in regards to their views. Especially you @LeftCoastOppa

You brought up that you made certain points way back in August around episode 11. It was probably when I posted last as well and I may have mentioned that I was only on episode 5/6 at that point when I was basing my views. Clearly you add the advantage then. But let’s move on to the points that you made with my last post. (Nothing against you mind you) I just want to give you a heads up that poor wordings on my part could seem that I am disagreeing with you when that isn’t entirely the case. I will let you know when that is the case.

I was the one that brought up the karaoke bar scene in my last post since you pointed out that Flamingo was missing his ex-wife. After rewatching it I am going to say this let’s end this part of the topic now as open to a matter of interpretation until proven otherwise. I still think that he only thought of her was because the female lead triggered those memories by being in a similar setting and singing the same song that she sang back then. You say that he thought of her because he was missing her. Fair enough but let the final decision be based on the writers for now.

Moving on to the recruitment scene. You mention that I totally disregarded how the Female Lead outplayed him in getting the cosmetic contract and that he wanted her because she was competent. My apologies. This was poor wording probably on my part. Yes, I did take that into consideration as well. I just failed to express it. So I am totally agreeing with you over here. I just feel that came to him second. His main priority I still feel is getting access to her future investments and her being competent is a bonus to him. There may have been another point as well which is slipping my mind at the moment. But this is where we agree with each other’s assessment, just not in which order. But like you said it could have been totally innocent on his part and just be because she was competent. So I guess we can end this part also over here.

The next point to cover was the cover up and that nobody would destroy their brand name in the name of being honorable is up for debate. First of all, these are politicians that are clearly abusing their power or going on power trips etc… If they are exposed to the public, then they are the ones seen in a bad light. The actors that are being forced to do these services would be seen as victims. The company for exposing these misdeeds would only have probably been praised that they didn’t fall for the politician’s power and pressure attacks. Good publicity is good for the company. Of course these politicians could probably use their considerable influence to turn things around as well. But as that hasn’t happened and is only speculating you may be correct sort off. Perhaps the company and brand would have taken more damage, so he decided to cover it up. But he still should have taken steps to prevent said things from happening in the future. So, I am still going to blame him. Regardless of how deep his involvement was in all of this.

Ah now we come to fun point that I made which you did the same. Flamingo’s secret project and him stealing company funds. Before I bring up where I got that from. (actually, I won’t because I can’t but still read on). I will point out that this is another time where I probably expressed myself not properly. Yes, as you have mentioned that everyone knows about his project to the extent that he not only has a poster of it on his office wall (does he have a model of it as well. I can’t recall), he has also gotten foreign investmets for it as well and also used it to convince the cosmetic company to stick with him. So yes, the project isn’t secret anymore. But here is the thing you are getting confused with the present where all of your above statements are correct. I was instead talking about the past where the current episodes currently are. Now I can’t tell you where I got this from because the exact episodes and time frame currently elude me. If anyone can help me out, I will be extremely obliged.

Sometime after the female lead becomes the chairwoman, she brings up a document to the chairman and asks him if he recognizes it. (She was with someone else also either a board director or the company lawyer don’t recall). Anyway, the chairman points out that it was one of Flamingo’s projects that he had rejected. She then informs him that apparently Flamingo still went ahead with his project secretly behind their backs. To fund it he dipped into the company funds and not only that but used one of the company hotels as collateral. So yes, he did steal from the company. In fact, in the next episode, or so she confronts Flamingo who is having a happy time with Jackie at her hotel and informs him to get his act straight and get back home because his father is not only aware of his actions but if he doesn’t he has to not only return the money he took but his father is going to take legal action against him. You only do that if you have committed a crime or seriously breached your contract. Take it anyway one likes.

Now I am totally open to admit since a few years have passed since this incident he may have totally paid back the funds that he pilfered back then. So, these charges may not be valid against him anymore. But if the drama doesn’t want to make him redeemable in anyway then they will keep this plot line open. We just need to wait and see how it goes. Do you still disagree with this assessment or do I remember wrong. Do let me know. As I have pointed out I am more than willing to admit my mistake or agree with anyone if they can prove it so. Unless I phrased my words wrong in that case I am also willing to admit to that.

As for the Jackie matter, being adopted is a widely known fact. My bad for missing that. So, thanks for letting me know.

I think that one of the facts in this show is that they aren’t extremely consistent with their facts perhaps just to be amusing. For instance, there is this scene when the MiL seems extremely tired and when her friend asks her the reason. She informs her that she was tired looking after her granddaughter and picking her up daily. Jackie shows up and refuses to do so by pointing out that today is the MiL’s turn to pick her up and she is therefore not going to do so. A few episodes down the MiL uses the same tactic and tells her that Jackie has to pick up SooA because today is her (Jackie’s) day to do so. Which results in her hiring Oh Na Hee to pick up SooA. So what is it turn based pick up or the grandmother being exhausted because she had to pick her up daily.

Speaking of which, I probably won’t say that this is the worst show that I have ever watched. I also won’t mention those shows because I might offend said shows fans. So will I recommend this show to anyone. I would but with fair warning. If they want to watch some kind of serious revenge drama, then this probably isn’t the show for them. On the other hand, if they want to watch a revenge comedy then by all means go ahead. Let’s face it, this is the only reason that I am still sticking with this show for the time being. Heck even the villains are having a blast over here. Such as when Flamingo thought that he was going to become the next chairman he was even finger firing an air rifle while saying his name. Then we have the wardrobe fairy to praise in this show. Someone for instance likened one of Flamingo’s outfit with that of the Joker. What an apt observation.

This brings me to a point where someone mentioned how his actor is going to be changed and how they might try and explain it off in the show. They probably won’t but here is my explanation. Note it is not serious in any way. So Flamingo is going to seriously insult the female lead. This is going to result in Puppy Actor flaring up and giving Flamingo a beat up that will result in him being rushed to the hospital. Flamingo is now so scared of his life that he asks the doctor to not only fake his death but to also give him some killer abbs as his own have been seriously bruised. He also wants to use his abs to trick people that he is a totally different person. But the doctor thinks that doesn’t make any sense, so he also alters his face. Hence, we get a new actor. What this isn’t funny. My bad I have a terrible sense of humour.

Does the Japanese twin actually exist is still debatable. For instance, the picture with the twins could easily have been photoshopped who is going to verify that. Not saying that there is no Japanese investor behind her. Because she clearly has gotten some money to fund her so called revenge plans. Perhaps someone who saved her or she helped out. Even a known associate from one of her cell mates. But how come the twin was never mentioned by anyone else. From what I can tell she was pretty close with her sister that she followed in her footsteps. Female lead went into the entertainment industry and her sister was also coincidentally in it as well. They seem to therefore have similar interests and it would make sense that they therefore had similar education backgrounds as well. So how come she doesn’t know about the supposed twin. I find that slightly odd.

Someone brought up the scene where the thugs/bodyguards come to fetch her, and she probably couldn’t stage everything at that point because there were too many moving parts. While that is true, I might have a possible scenario where it could be slightly possible to do so. Perhaps some of them had a particular schedule at this point. So, for instance Flamingo may decide to leave every day at the same time. If that was the case, she just needed to time her plans when he was leaving. Also to make sure to leave an impression with her former workers at Na Entertainment as well. So she tells the bodyguards to come in exactly 5 minutes after they arrive to try and get her. We then have the following scene that we got. Of course, if she missed anything she probably would have to try and redo everything so it was based partially on luck and a bit on skill.

But regardless of this I do think that the Japanese angle is partially true. The father doesn’t want her to work in Korea but also to return to Japan because they are worried about her safety. If they know what happened to her then that makes sense. So they are trying to force them to return by cutting off their bank accounts and all. But she is way to determined to get her revenge that isn’t going to phase her. Will they come into play later on we need to wait and see. Because I do think that she needs something to take down the corrupt politician, Jackie, Flamingo and get her daughter back.

Okay I am going to end my post over here for the time being. Feeling sleepy and would have responded later on but felt that I should do so now before I forget my points or people may think that I might be ignoring their thoughts as well. Hopefully when I wake up I can add more of my points so till then take care all of you and keep posting. Let me also apologize to anyone who I might have offended with any of my earlier comments.

  23. So, the good news is that I have finally managed to catch up with all the current episodes (24) as of this writing. This means that the first thing that I should do is partially admit when I am wrong or mistaken. This is in regard to watching the necklace scene again and confirm that @LeftCoastOppa was indeed correct that Flamingo loaned the female lead the money for the necklace so that she didn’t need to sell it. Normally I don’t rewatch a scene because I don’t recall the episode or the time frame when a particular scene happened and I am usually way ahead when it is usually brought up. This time round I hadn’t progressed that far ahead and was just 2 episodes ahead so finding said scene was simpler.

Now I guess I should start with why I still don’t fully agree with their assessment. Sure, the guy loaned the female lead the money, but couldn’t he simply have started off with that instead of going on how he will purchase the necklace. One might argue that he was trying to get the attention of both the female lead and the shop dealer so I might be willing to let that matter slide. After claiming that he was going to buy it he places the necklace on the female leads neck and tells her that it looks better on her, and she has no need to sell it. Listen say what one wants but that was him getting way more intimate of sorts with a woman he supposedly hardly knows. The first time round it was pointed out that when she invaded his personal space he could have been momentarily thrown off because she looked just like his dead wife that he couldn’t think straight. But this time round he was the one invading her space and he would have ample time to think this through. Ie walking towards her and all.

Mind you after all that he asks her out for a drink something that she was avoiding. (Clearly a part of her ploy which I won’t deny). This then brings us up to the Karaoke/singing scene where he is supposedly remembering his dead wife. Frankly I still think that this is a matter of perspective. This is how I see things played out. Yes, he remembered his dead wife that is not in debate the reason is why. The answer is because the female lead triggered said memory. As it has already been pointed out she resembles his dead wife so that was the first motivating factor, the second was that she was singing the exact same song that the wife/she sung back then. So naturally the memory for him was going to be triggered. I don’t know of any other scenes where Flamingo has been thinking about his Ex-Wife. Please correct me if there are any with time frames so I can rewatch them and add whether I agree with the assessment or not.

Frankly I think that Flamingo was merely interested in the female leads bank account and what benefits that could be for him. It was the same when he went after Jackie and it probably is still the same now. The recruitment speech I feel are for a few similar reasons. 1. If he recruits her then any investment that comes from her or her supposedly rich father will be for his company and his so-called project. 2. He successfully steals her away from CEO Na with whom he has a bitter rivalry and bare to see him win/succeed. Naturally the first rule must also apply in this case. For instance, if Na has poor cast/staff etc then he gains no benefits from trying to recruit them, but the female lead has money which can be useful to him thus he needs to recruit her at all costs. Plus, she also resembles his Ex as well. Whether or not that really factors into his decision needs to be seen.

In regards to the Eun-Ha situation and whether or not he was responsible for getting her pregnant can possibly be a misunderstanding. I didn’t respond to that earlier because I hadn’t watched the episode itself. After watching it my thoughts in regards to it are as follows. Na is accusing him due to what he may have understood or by the question that he may have asked Eun-Ha. For instance, when he discovered her state, he may have simply asked who was responsible for that. She may have replied that it was Flamingo. Now he would therefore simply assume that he was the father. What she may have meant that Flamingo was indirectly responsible for said state. Ie she went to the function where the sleazy politicians were and due to one of them she ended up getting pregnant. So she blames Flamingo because if he never sent her she wouldn’t have ended up in that state. Then again Flamingo may have been totally innocent in regards to that as well assuming we want to either redeem him or CEO Na buries the so called hatchet with him.

In this case Flamingo may not have even been aware of her being sent to said events until she sent him the incriminating video. We know for instance that the actor working under him had a bad habit or providing female actress/girls for writers and directors so that he could get a better role. So even in this case he could have done the same but told them that these were direct orders from Flamingo. They probably believed him without verifying the facts and ended up in said situation. Regardless Flamingo can’t be totally blameless because he didn’t do anything to protect his staff and even tried to burry the secret after finding out. So, he is in a way responsible for Eun-Ha’s state. That part is debatable though.

Someone wondered about the item that the grandfather and former CEO gave to his granddaughter SooA and if it could be important. The answer is yes, it is very important and in case someone missed what it was due to perhaps fast forwarding said episode or scene let me explain what and why. Apparently, that is not only his ear piece but it also has a hidden camera inside it. (Probably an error in translation because as advanced as Korea is I find it hard to place a camera inside an earpiece. How does it record visual data unless it operates when it is outside). I would think that it is a simple recorder though. Only the old actor (the one who is now working at Na Entertainment and Top Know Ajjuma’s Ex Husband) is aware of this fact. Anyway, this recorder probably has evidence proving that Flamingo was the last person to see his father before the Female Lead went to wake him up for dinner. His conversation would definitely be recorded where he was blaming his father for his current situation and not trusting him over his wife. As for him attempting to kill him needs to be seen. But it could certainly help clear the female lead. Assuming that she gets her hands on the recording first. But we all know how drama rules follow in these circumstances.

Now moving on to theories and predictions or hopes. Jackie needs to go behind bars or the loony bin. She not only has an ego problem, but I further suspect that she is a murderer. Now I will admit that I have no evidence to back this claim but let’s see why I suspect this. We know that she was adopted and that her adopted parents have passed away now. I feel that she may have been responsible for that. Why you may ask. Well for starters she has the motivation for doing so. If we go by her memories, we see her alone in her room as a kid and crying when her stepfather enters said room and shuts it. I suspect child abuse or molestation on his part. This is ample reason for her to not only hate him but to get even with him when she is capable. She also goes in one episode of how nice it would have been for Flamingo’s father to die like her adopted parents. Now this could be a totally innocent remark out of frustration or evidence of her crime. Even if it was indirect. Take your pick again.

The Corrupt Assemblyman also needs to go behind bars along with Flamingo. He is also probably the reason for Flamingo joining the Dark Side. He took advantage of a vulnerable young man who needed a father figure or needed to make his mark. Think about this way he needed Jackie’s funds for his own gains but as long as she was with CEO Na that couldn’t happen. Na wasn’t someone that he could control. But Flamingo on the other hand he could influence and gain from him. So he suggests that he needs her and that Jackie would be much better around Flamingo. He has made it seem like if he gets into the Presidency that he can further support Flamingo and his ambitions. Be it to build his super media empire/city. He knows that if that project succeeds then he has more money to line his projects even in the future. Will he be true to his word. Highly unlikely. As all villains he will use Flamingo until he proves useful and will gladly discard him the moment, he realizes that isn’t the case anymore. Take for instance what he did to his old time friend. He let Flamingo fire him. Regardless of the reasons.

Flamingo also needs to serve time for his crimes as well. Stealing from the company funds to fund his secret project, not protecting his staff when he discovered them being exploited and trying to hide said fact and evidence and for the attempted murder of his father among a few things. I am actually going to be interested to discover his mothers reaction when all these things are brought to light in regards to his actions. How will she try and blame the female lead for this.

Now someone has brought up the Puppy actor and his mother. I think someone mentioned that she may have been the mother of Jackie and her sister as well and perhaps someone else as well. LoL she must have been really busy to do so. Okay while that may be entirely possible, I have a theory regarding her as well. Mine is as follows. Puppy actor is the corrupt politician’s kid instead. It is therefore the reason why his mother doesn’t want him to become an actor. If he becomes famous, it is only going to be a matter of time before reporters try and dig into his background and discover who is actual birth father is. She may have either promised to live quietly or is in hiding so that he doesn’t discover her son and try and harm them. This does mean that Puppy Actor can’t be paired with Lollypop girl. Whether this is good news or bad news depends on each particular viewer.

I do have other questions though. Jackie was adopted but more importantly than that she was also the twin sister of Eun-Ha. So how did Na discover her. Normally we all have a birth secret and what not. For instance, I suspect Puppy Actor to be secretly the son of corrupt politician and he matches certain K-Drama criteria rules for that. But I will get into that later on if necessary. But when we have Eun-Ha she was supposed to be an orphan that is the reason why nobody was representing her at the funeral except for CEO Na. I think either the female lead or her sister mentioned this fact as well. It is also why Jackie can do what she wants because nobody has yet realized her connection to Eun-Ha. If Eun-Ha was aware of the fact that her sister was adopted why didn’t she try and make contact with her later on.

I can perhaps understand her not telling about her sister getting adopted as it was too painful yet sharing something with Na as she was quite close to him. But this mean that she knew who exactly adopted her and that is how Na managed to trace her. Otherwise, how did he find someone that wouldn’t be found so easily. Also how do other people know that Jackie was adopted? For instance, Top Knot Lady brings up this point when she was throwing a dig at her. She goes that is the reason that she was abandoned by her birth mother and adopted because they could sense just how terrible of a person she was and didn’t want anything to do with her. How come Flamingo’s mother didn’t bring this up as an issue. Granted she was blinded by the money that Jackie was throwing at them but usually in these shows this point is almost always brought up.

How could the female leads team be so dumb that the can’t realize that Flamingo could have been responsible for the sister’s accident until recently. Think about it. The sister apparently had evidence in her car that she was to hand it over to the prosecution to prove her sister’s innocence. She is lured to a basement and fortunately survives an accident. This was clearly an attempt at her life that we viewers know about, and I can understand her thinking that it was a simple accident. But after that she should have considered the following things. Any evidence at foul play was conveniently missing such as no CCTV footage, the person that contacted her didn’t do so again and finally her own evidence went missing. The last part is the most important. Why would anyone want to take said evidence as it would be of no use to them. That must mean that only the guilty party could be involved in said accident and all.

Oh well I think that I will end my post over here for the time being. So all of you take care while I get busy with a few other things. When I recall what else I want to add I will do so. Also when are we going to get to the present time. I feel that is when the show is going to get interesting. Also what is wrong with the outfits that Jackie likes to wear. It almost makes her look like ----- . not only that but the way she likes to throw herself into her husbands lap regardless of the place like his work and whatnot makes me trully wonder just how stable she is. She even tends to call him baby in public at times. Seriously….
