[CHINATOWN SPOILER ALERT]

@maiwun oh yes, I understood that actually Seok Hyun knows that his father abandoned him. . he knows about his dad’s debt so like Bogum said in Elle interview, he quickly makes money and ignores it. Seokhyun only focus to make money to paid his father’s debt. However, the one thing that I’m still questioned is why Seok Hyun is so kind to Il Young? I think PD and SWnim fail explained it to viewers..so we should thinking and found reason why he’s so kind to Il Young..Why he suddenly invited her to watch movie and dinner? (or drinking) together..PD and SWnim didn’t show it in scenes and/or dialog in movie.. Different with reason why Il Young changes and wants helping Seok Hyun run off from his Mother and their scary team..Immediately I know and understand that she is already shaken because of Seok Hyun’s kindness and this is also explained in scene before Il Young stabbed her Mother. Her mother asked her why she is shaken and she answered because Seok Hyun is so kind to her..

Actually..in the beginning..I thought that Seokhyun just ty to manipulate Il Young’s heart so she will be shaken and in the end she won’t collect his dad’s debt (like happened in the end before finally Seokhyun dead)…haha..but apparently the fact is Seokhyun is genuinely kind to her without any bad intention..

and about Yoon Ho..haha..yeah..it’s typical Korean drama..they should added a 2^nd lead..it’s like mandatory formula for (mostly) kdrama..LOL

what??? his character’s organ in drama Hero also were supposed to be sold??? LOL..hahahaha..

now I’m wondering..how many times that Bogum has acting with full of blood, pain, and acting die or nearly die..

Today he only singing a bit (I thin only about one line) for each of songs..but..swoonn..his voice is so good..eargasm haha.. and about OCN Hero..no way!! he also almost died in that drama?? why PD really like cast him in role with fate like this..

@fleurofjasmine Pleasure is mine! Hmm, Yoon Ho wasn't really that much as a character...even as a fan, I had a love/hate relationship with his character when i was watching TC. LOL. He shone so much more in IRY bcs Min is a much better/complicated character and he managed to successfully pull him off Of all the characters he's done, Min is so far hands down the best in my opinion \o/ It's good to see him prove himself as an actor like this.. that he's not just a pretty face and he can do so much more ;; ahhh, can't wait for reply to startㅠㅠ

I agree with you. Even though so far I only watched Bogum in IRY (and Chinatown..finally I watched it few days ago), I can say thay Min is his best role so far. Min character makes Bogum can showed his acting skill to the maximum level..

and about Yoon Ho..I also agree with you.. so because nowadays I don't have much time to marathon drama (despite I really want to watch Bogum in Cantabile), I decided to read all recaps on DB (who know that I will really interested to watch because drama storyline)..but..until last ep recaps..I never interested to watch the whole drama and only watch few Bogum cut scenes on YT. I have watched the Japanese vers..so I knew that in original dorama there is no Yoon Ho character. and I feel if Yoon Ho wasn't played by Bogum I will hate that character..haha..Yoon Ho is like typical "annoying" 2nd character (at least for me). What makes Yoon Ho has a bit interesting character is his pain in his hand so he couldn't play violin? or cello? I'm not sure plot story.. Actually I have watched Bogum cut scene when he played cello in front of Naeil and her friends and I admitted that Bogum acting in that particular scene is so so good..I could see his changing face expression from sad to relieve that actually he still can play cello..

haha..yes..T.I. for Men released too many pics..but hoho..we can see Bogum from many angles..

oh..speaking about Chinatown..like I said before..I finally have watched it..and..I knew that Bogum will die and the death scene also so scary (based on cut scene I have watched on IG)..but when I knew more clearly the context of his murder and what happen to his body after he was murdered..I'm speechless..it was very scary..huhu.. Park Seok Hyun.. T_T (it didn't help that Seok Hyun is always smilling in the entire his scene when I knew that he will die in the end)

and I'm still curious..why Park Seok Hyun is so kind to Il Young from the first time they met? did he likes il young?

oh..I also love his scene when he told il young why he become a chef..I wanna cry..huhu..

i can't wait for Reply 1988. i'm wondering what would be his hairstyle... i mean that kwave mag hairstyle with wavy bangs is ok. and that caramel-ish brown hair too... anyway, him and SIG in IRY had varying hairstyles all through out the series so i won't mind him changing hairstyles..

I think and I'm sure that he will have 1988 (or 1980s) hairstyle and fashion.. I have seen fantaken filming pic of hyeri and she was wearing clothes with 1980s style (based on knetz's comments).. (tbvh..I don't know what kind of 1980s style..even though I was born in 1980s )

Yeah..he's so cute with glasses..and he's singing!! omo..swooonn... and thank you again for info about what songs he's singing. About Bogum and Beast..ohhhh..so that's why in the end after Beast give their speech and did encore..Bogum seems aware that he will dance with Beast..hoho..I didn't know about "waiting room interview". About Bogum acted as Min..yeah..I observed that he now more popular after he acted in IRY as Min..I observed this phenomena on popular site like Dramabeans..Bogum indeed has steal the heart of IRY viewers (including me). Different with comment section in Cantabile recaps on DB last year..only few commenters who praised his acting as Yoon Ho..I mean his role in Cantabile was not enough to make viewers pay attention more to him..however different with IRY recaps on DB (and IRY soompi thread and twitter)..woohoo..I think almost everyone praised his acting as Min..

Another young actor I love. Park Bo Geom, who completely swept me away as a younger Lee Seo Jin in Wonderful Days, is all playful and quirky for K Wave. Seeing this had me scrambling to find videos of him in Wonderful Days and watching those videos reminded how solid and thoughtful the drama was for a weekend series. That, and how super super gorgeous Lee Seo Jin looked in it. Plus, it was the first 50-part drama I reviewed. GOODNESS. I’m still amazed that I managed to stay on until the end.

you're right, most of his characters had gone through pain and sadness or death and the interesting part is that 2 out of 4 bright characters he played ("Blind" and "Chinatown" vs "Wonderful Mama" and "Cantabile Tomorrow" (do we count Yoon Hoo character bright or sad? I don't know!!!)) ended up dying so do you want him to play a bright character and die or a sad character and live? I know... I know, what kind of question is this? but on a serious note I love that his roles were full of layers and not single dimensional, that way the characters are more interesting and we see more of his acting skills

I agree with you too, bc his roles has too many layers and how he manages to develop and portray the character well, it makes it even more heartbreaking when something bad happens to him (in the drama/movie) that's why we always feel so sad for him :-(((((
I really love it when he smiles though. He is really a good natured, polite and down to earth celebrity... Hope he makes it big!!
P.S. can't stop replaying the video of him turning back to receive a gift from a fan in my head <3

oh yes, glad that so far he always choose an interesting, challenging and full of layer roles..I realized that the first thing that makes me love him is his facial expression especially his eyes when he's acting..

@wizengamot good to know I was right with the translation chingu why are you killing me with your describtion about his death scene in Chinatown? I can't forget that scene I almost had a break down at that sight!!!

and about his roles: well he died in "Blind" by being locked to the car by his sisters chains, his hand nerves were affected so he can't play cillo in "Cantabile Tomorrow" and I was dying everytime he was in pain, he got killed in "Chinatown" and was stabbed twice in "I Remember You" thank God he didn't die!!!, so he had pretty traumatic characters without talking about emotional traumas!!! I'm afraid I'll end up traumatised myself in the end and like our chingu @fleurofjasmine I was terrified when I saw him couvered in blood in "Bridal Mask" cut, how almost he was about to get caught and killed but a man covered him with his body and took the gun shots instead and he got couvered by his blood!!!!

Reply 1988 is my only hope now that he will have or at least his character would have a decent fate hahaha!!! but honestly, the second lead/first lead vagueness makes me nervous. coz if he were to be a second lead again, heartbreak is for sure.

and it seems that Bogum is really become more and more popular nowadays..Eventhough he already acting since 2011? (please correct me), from small role in Blind and Bridal Mask and Wonderful Days..then last year he also has a chance acting in box office movie Roaring Current and second lead in Cantabile (too bad that cantabile flop in ratings but I think it quite popular)..but I think this year is his breakout year..

why? from popularity aspect, I think he become more popular after he take a job as Mubank MC. so, non kdrama viewers (kpop listener/fans) now know about him..and about 1 month later he acted in I Remember You. eventhough IRY flop in local rating and he actually only a supporting character, but fortunately IRY popular among int viewers and his role as Min/JSH has stealing many fans's heart (including me). I think, imo, Min/JSH is his breakout role..and Mubank MC is his stepping stone to get more popular.

I hope his next acting project in Reply1988 will established him as one of big actor in South Korea. I hope this third Reply series will as great as 2 previous Reply series (honestly I have a little afraid about this 3rd reply series because people must be have very high expectation and if it won't meet their expectation people will disappointed).

ps. I think it just my small observation..if you search with #Reply1988 on IG, 99% is post about Bogum..haha..so I'm sure many kdrama viewers, who haven't watched 2 previous reply series, will watch Reply1988 because Bogum

thank you very much dear for gifs from edwin making video..from the BTS edwin (and IRY BTS) it's obvious that his real life persona is close to him when MC-ing Mubank..I don't say that his MC on Mubank is not his real self but we should admit that there is part of his MC-ing is scripted..I mean there is a script for MC right..

so I giggled when he makes a pouty face, he jumped like "yes I did it!" after hed did photoshoot on chair, when the last part when photographer? said it's done and he feel enthusiastic that it's done..

Agree with all you said. I feel you..I have same experience with you when I watched IRY. Okay, actually about Min stabbing scene in last ep, actually I have predicted it..but when I watched the real scene..ahh..it so hurt in my heart..huhu..Min.. T_T I only watched that scene twice, raw and with engsub and I think if I rewatched IRY in the future I will skip that scene..

(haha..I also have surgery experience..yeah..it must be pain..but I never think into that far if I watched drama.. )

I also watched few cut scenes from Bridal Mask when his face is full of blood..don't tell me that he also death in that drama

and as always thank you very much @ilchul for translation of cut scene from movie Admiral..his acting in that particular scene is so good, isn't?

Roaring current is awesome!!! like, i had goosebumps when i saw the trailer before and i cried during the movie. although it's not basically bogum's film, i still like his role there. i mean, i really like his loyalty. he's literally the only one rowing hard because he has faith on the admiral (i like that he was slightly sarcastic to his friend when his friend was doubting their victory)...
and yeah, on the bogum's part of roaring current vid @ilchul 's translation is right. the admiral agreed that he'll join the fight on the condition that he will not wield a sword. he will fight in a way that he'll be one of those who will row the ship.
i've also seen that brutal death in chinatown and i was like "no! he's gonna be super sweet to the girl on the chinatown (which will surely make me swoon) then i'll get to see him get his throat cut, with blood massively spritzing, no. just no. my heart won't take it."
so in the end i didn't watch it. (okay i guess, i've just detailed-ly described that gore scene... sorry)

I found Bogum's cut from movie Admiral Roaring Current. I just love his acting in this scene..so intense and makes me wanna cry eventhough I don't know what they talked about..

Rookie actor Park Bo-geom is all over the place. He made quite an impression in the movie "Coin Locker Girl" and recently became the new MC for KBS 2TV show "Music Bank" and was cast for the tvN drama "Answer Me 1988".

Park Bo-geom debuted in 2011 with "Blind" and was in the spotlight right away for his tall height and good looks. He continued to star in movies like "Runway Cop", "A Hard Day" and more, building on his career. Last year, he starred in "Very Good Times" and "Tomorrow's Cantabile" as well as the 10 million hits movie "The Admiral: Roaring Currents".

He was Lee Seo-jin's childhood in "Very Good Times" and in "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" he played Soo-bong gave taros to Lee Soon-shin (Choi Min-sik). He starred in "Tomorrow's Cantabile" as Lee Yoon-hoo and won the hearts of many female fans.

He doubled his appeal in "Coin Locker Girl". He became the ray of light in a somewhat depressing movie.

Park Bo-geom played Seok-hyeon, a boy who was left behind debt from by his father but never failed to be cheerful and gets through to Il-yeong (Kim Go-eun-I). He is the cause of conflict between Il-yeong and her mother (Kim Hye-soo).

The same actor is starring in the new tvN drama "Answer Me 1988". Nothing else has been reported about who he will be in the drama but many are looking forward to it.
