I don't have experience regarding romantic relationships, however, I will give my opinion on relationships in general.Personally, I think that being "gentlemanly" and "lady-like" has changed. For example, in general society, being gentlemanly no longer means that men should pay for everything, that men should stand up when a women gets up, that men need to stand on the side next to the road when walking next to a female, etc.In my opinion, being gentlemanly in our century means being considerate. Of course, not all males have this trait. And that's okay. On the other hand, the idea of being a "lady" has not changed as much. A "lady" is demure, conservative, does not speak out of turn, etc. Of course the specifics of this change from place to place but I think you get my point. Is it fair that you think to yourself, for example, 'hey, I bought this female a meal so now she has to be a "lady" to me and wash the dishes'?No. It's not fair. Not only that but if you bought your female acquaintance/date a present or a meal or even held the door open for her, it should be because you are considerate--not because you want something back.I hold the door open for guys if I am not in a hurry and I would buy my guy friend a meal---but I do those things not because I am a feminist, not because I am a woman, but because I want to be helpful or because care about those people. I don't expect anything in return since those actions are not so big to deserve anything back.Oh, and women are not always treated as equals. Look at the statistics.

I have some theories as to why Soompi is dead (dead, not dying).
1) The new layout - when it was first introduced, a lot of members complained that it was causing their computers to lag and even though you guys eventually fixed the bugs, it still took quite awhile and people were fed up by then.
2) Kpop news being featured on the front page and not posted as a discussion thread. The Kpop subforum was lively because people were able to engage in debate. Your front page is now full of troll comments or 5 word sentences such as "oppa/unnie is the besterest!" People can't quote/reply to each other the way they used to.
3) This place is waaaay too organized. Did SNSD, Big Bang, etc really deserve their own subforums? Probably not. Did each and every single Kpop artist deserve their own ***OFFICAL THREAD***? Probably not.
4) Mods warning the beejezus out of everyone for the tiniest thing. Here are two fine examples. Someone used the term "effing" in a Kpop thread and the mod (edwardsomething) jumped on that mini cooper and was all, "THAT CONSTITUTES AS BYPASSING THE SWEAR FILTER. THOUGHT YOU WERE BEING SNEAKY, EH? WELL NOT ON MY WATCH, A WARNING STRIKE FOR YOU!!!" Okay, so he didn't write all that but close enough, you get the point. Example number two - someone was warned for calling another Soompier a "fool" (true story). The mod claimed this was member bashing (lol).
What is the average age of the mods on Soompi? 14?
5) This place is boring and way too PG. I noticed you guys are now trying to facilitate discussions in various subforums. Remember when this was something that happened naturally?
We-ell... it appears as though you guys wanted to attract a certain demographic - the drama-free, let's hold hands and sing kumbaya crowd and I think you got it.
I'm being totally honest here. When people think of Soompi, what comes to mind? "Strict rules, nonsensical fans, and happy-go-lucky teenyboppers".
Right now, there is no way Soompi can compete with Omonatheydidnt or Allkpop/6Theory. They're like frat parties and this place is tea time at the retirement home.

I was walking to my car after class today and it was wet and incredibly windy out... I almost got to my car when I heard this female voice yell out, "Excuse me! Would you like to sit in my car?"
So I looked around the parking lot and I saw this poor guy standing there holding an umbrella but still getting soaked (the wind was just WHIPPING the rain at us from all directions). He was probably waiting for his ride... anyway, he declined the offer but I still thought it was really sweet of that woman.
Also, another time I was getting off work and there was this HUGE stray dog curled up next to my car. He was lying right in front of the driver's side. I didn't know what to do (looking back I should have activated my car alarm to scare him off) but before long this SUV pulled up to me with a man and a woman inside. They asked me if the dog was mine and I told them no and that I was trying to get into my car. They then proceeded to pull up in front of the dog and scare him off by honking their horn.
I kind of felt bad for the dog though. It was a hot day - he had been lying in the shade of my car and when he heard/saw me coming over, he started walking his tail. I hope he finds his owner

I'm just tired all of the time.
I'm getting a little sick of being bright and cheery... I think that's what exhausts me the most.
On one hand, I'm trying to be more positive and present myself as an upbeat person but doing so just consumes soo much energy. It's annoying having to be all smiley and perky at work.
I freaking miss working at the other office where 90% of the time I was by myself answering the phone and posting rental listings. Not that this new office is horrible or anything but I actually have to interact with people. At first, it was fun playing dress up. But today this voice went off in my head, just screaming "COULD YOU KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE FRILLY john teshING DRESSES?"
And last Thursday I stopped by the office and my boss kind of looked me up and down and it made me a little uncomfortable. It wasn't a lecherous stare or anything, I guess it was the first time he saw me in casual 'street' clothes but idk. At least he wasn't like the other pervy real estate agent who would NOTICEABLY scope me out.
I just don't like being all perky and sweet but it's always like this when I start a new job. I hope it doesn't stay this way either but my work atmosphere is so 'professional'. It isn't like my other jobs where we goof off and clown around. It's seriously rigid here. Everyone means business. I kind of want to get comfortable enough so I can 'shed' this 'mask'.
And on top of everything, I have sooo much school work to do. Frickity frick frick frick.
