I will also watch it for Vengo. Vengo should have more chances to be the lead. These suave looks suit Vengo so well. It looks like cutting out of the esquire magazine. My fav of his after the DH look. It's weird but I have to say his silver hair is my absolute favorite. It's like he was naturally born with silver hair which is obviously not true.

Dilabra & Vengo have such amazing chemistry with each other that I hope some drama god will give them a chance to be the lead couple in period drama again. But this time I hope Vengo will be the one to chase Dilabra since Dilabra had to chased after him twice.

I hope so too!! I just read on DF they're in another drama together - but I think Vengo is the 2nd male lead - and he'll be chasing after her this time! This might be old news already haah - but I'm excited to hear about it - Mr Pride vs Miss Prejudice! only a movie but still hope to get many moments and pray they are leads in a drama one day together

The rumored casts are taiwanese idol Jiro Wang,  the spoiled brat princess from bu bu jing xing, & Chris wu. I've seen them in actions so I shall pass on the drama. I will stick to the pillow book novel for DH & FJ, one of my fav couples.

When I knew that Vengo & Dilabra was going to be paired as DH & FJ, I already knew that it was going to be great because they collaborated before & their chemistry was just as awesome. I'm hoping that they will pair again in costume period but with a happy ending this time.

oooh what drama have they been in previously?

I watched Bu Bu Jing Xing - but skipped around a lot (still better than the Korean adaptation by far though), so I guess I don't mind her casting. Never seen Jiro or Chris though, but at this point it's so hard for me to see anyone else other than Vengo and Diliraba because they just fit their roles really well lol. I actually really like white long hair on Vengo so now seeing him in his natural hair feels a bit weird LOL

Who is shao wan that everyone talking about?  I don't remember that person in the drama?

Okay missed the part that yh and Ba name on three lives rock..was that when fj was trying to find dh on the rock?

Yup! When she searched her own name, it was with the Wen Chang (did that person ever make an appearance in the drama?)

And then right next to hers or on top of hers (idk specifically) was BQ and YH

DH & FJ has their own storyline. It's actually very well-known & liked even more so than YH & BQ story. Because the production didn't buy the book, so they twist their story around. The DH & FJ book is actually very sweet & funny. It's a happy ending for them.

There will be an adaptation of PB but it's from another production so the actors will be completely different.

Ooh I see. Darn - I hope whoever plays them in the new production plays the role well! Hope to see Vengo and Diliraba paired up in another production too to give me my happy ending for them XD

Have you guys seen the movie as well? which one do you like better?

I like both but the drama is definitely better in terms of actual getting all the details and significant moments in. Although I get the movie wasn't able to work with much due to time constraints, I felt like they used many insignificant moments that could have been replaced with moments that actual showed more character involvement and development, but that might have been even harder to edit well.

However, I do think I would have liked it more had I not watched the drama adaptation first because I think the movie sets up the stage well for the drama adaptation. But, I realize not everyone enjoys going through 40 eps (I am one of those people but recently with even better C-dramas and my growing interest in Korean family dramas, that's changing), so the movie serves a lot better timewise (and probably feelings wise LOL).

  5. Gosh I hadn't been following this drama until last week where I binge watched half the episodes and finished up everything today. The last few episodes hit me so hard - but GAH really - they couldn't give us some more couples other than our main OTP? D: D: Feng Jiu and Dong Hua shattered me so hard - I was crying even more than I expected to with them - and I had watched 50-58 all just now so everything hit me episode per episode until the very last one where things mostly all became happier.

I read this on a Dramafever comment, but is it true there's a Pillow Book that gives FJ and DH more of a storyline? I read that it might be adapted, but I wasn't sure if that was just a rumor or actual truth. I hope there is. Although, I don't think I can take more heartbreak if they don't end up with each other happily in the end. I knew in my heart they couldn't be together at the end, but I was SO SO SO SO SO hoping there would be some magical loophole that would end up making everything work out for them. Gah. GAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I rarely follow C-dramas but I've been so impressed lately with the historical and fantasy dramas. I had watched Princess Weiyoung and although I loved a lot of it, there were a lot of episodes where I almost stopped watching. I also tried watching Pretty Li Hui Zhen but that ended up dragging way too much for me - I felt like they extended it twice and after I saw the episode count change again, I ended up dropping it and just watching the very last ep (although it did introduce me to Diliraba). However, this drama managed to keep me interested the entire way though - which is a lot for me to take in considering I can barely handle 16 episode Kdramas sometimes (the only exception before this drama was Love O2O since it was so fluffy with little drama). I'll have to keep my eye out on the cast and future dramas from China for sure!

Now that you mention it, yes I wonder why Won is still alive! Cause I know in the C version, Won and Wook died.. Hmm.. Maybe we'll know about his fate tomorrow??

Agreed. I do feel sympathetic to him when Baek Ah kneel before him, thats when you knew that Baek Ah's leaving So. And then now Soo. One by one, the people So loved and trusted left him. All because of the throne. All because of he becoming Gwangjong. Guess the throne isn't a good thing after all..

And I don't think we should blame the writer. This is how the original story goes, if you see the C version as well, most of the important elements are there too. The K and C version are just following the original story that was written. So they have no choice but to show these important scenes as it's crucial for the development of the show :)

Yes, I know there's a lot of angst right now, but hopefully we'll all have a nice closure on Soo/So (or should I say Hajin/future So) romance tomorrow~! ^^

I think it's mainly that it's written to closely to the C-drama but it doesn't make sense because the characters were set up a  bit differently than what the C-version showed and two different histories as well so although some some scenes and plots are able to be copied-pasted without much hassle, it's been showing in the last few episodes how discordant the original storyline fits up with the way the writer presented the characters and the way that this drama has been edited. It's a bit frustrating. Maybe if the drama had been as long as the C-version everything could have been more well-thought out in terms of editing because it's honestly frustrating to have these random scenes that don't make sense of what we've seen thus far. I could at least reason out stuff in Episode 17 and 18 but this episode just makes me want to strangle everyone.

  7. I give up. I honestly kinda regret even shipping this couple from the start now that they've been executed out this way. I don't know if I even want them to meet each other in the modern era because this episode just made no sense based on a lot of what we've seen of everyone's character thus far. It's like all rationality just went through the window in this episode.

Give me happy Goryeo back when King Taejo was still on the throne - evil mom was much easier to sit through than watching all of this unfold.

  8. This episode frustrated me in so many ways. I absolutely will watch this till the end but I'm pretty much frustrated with all of the characters except Baek-Ah. I think Soo disappointed me the most though with CR - I get she's a close friends, but really? She murdered the first brother for a love that seems to be very one-sided and she betrayed HS knowing all of this would go down. I could understand if HS chose not to hate CR, but to rag on So for doing what was right was just wrong. She's been understanding thus far and now everything logical just got ripped to shreds. And now So is just starting to lose it and becoming vengeful in everything he does without much sign of softness, and I don't know how I feel about that. I have no sympathy for the evil queen's death though.

Not sure if I'm excited for the last 2 eps or not...

  9. I wish this could have been a 20 episode drama instead of 18. Although I know the political stuff was gonna take full force and center at some point or another, it felt rushed to have everything explode at the very last episode. This is the first time I've watched an 18 ep drama - I always thought dramas always were in sets of 16 or 20 hahaha. It would have been nice to have some flashbacks or some comfort in Yoonsung's death because I felt like that just slapped me in the face without any ice to help heal me :(

However, this was to be expected. Saeguks are always really hard to portray within a strict episode limit. I love saeguks personally, but the political stuff always annoys me at one point or another, so I'm glad this drama didn't push me over the edge with eye-rolling and anger the majority of the drama hahaha, but it did feel a bit too fast-placed for the happy ending since we had so many loose ends to tie up in this last week.

BUT overall, I still loved this drama so much more than I thought I would. I'm so glad it turned out so well and the cast was AMAZING. I wish we could have gotten more bromance moments among YS-LY-BY, but /heartbreak. And of course, Yoojung still remains my favorite child actress (though I guess I can't really say that anymore since she's nearly an adult now).

    Like the pregnancy part....

    xiao baobeiiii

ANDDDDD for gamers out there or hardcore fans of WWYX, did you guys know that the game endorsed in the drama IS REAL???? I JUST FOUND THAT OUT EARLIER omg dayummmm I feel like trying now LOL and wow the name is exactly the same and the Company, instead of being Feng Teng as in the drama, is actually called Feng Yi HAHAHAHA the visuals are EXACTLY THE SAME i.e the jobs and characters etc

I think I'm gonna play the game....... there goes my grades

Haha yup I was so shocked when I found out.

I figured it was a real game because they had to have been playing SOMETHING when they weren't in fantasy avatar mode, but instead in the reality world looking at the game, but I just didn't think it'd be the exact same name and similar company lol

Me too! I don't understand why he hates his younger brother - Mummy dearest might justify her actions by saying that Wang So reminds her of her 'failures' (why project that to your child, I don't know), but does anyone know why there's so much animosity to his brother?

Probably he's been brainwashed by his own mother to be conditioned to hate him with a burning passion. Plus, he seems to care about nothing other than the throne so he hates just about everything lol. Plus, I'm sure he doesn't like that Wook's younger sister takes a liking to So and not him as evidenced by the last episode. Also, I feel like Yo is at least smart enough to know what threat So holds to him getting to his throne. So may be defined as cruel to others, but we see his nice sides and that he does has some great qualities to him - it's just hard for him to draw the line between good and bad when he has that uncaring witch of a mother. Plus, I think Yo takes great joy in being able to throw someone down and So is the perfect target because of his scar and the fact that their mother doesn't favor him.

he looks so much better there haha

I never liked Cao Guang's styling - it's not bad but I wish they would have just let his hair be straight instead since I liked him with the hairstyle where he caught Er Xi from falling

PSH has been fairly typecast as well...she doesn't really get characters that overly display their emotions...at least not when it comes to love. i don't think she's ever had a character that has had a smooth love life (or even one with a character that didn't have some sort of depressing bg that made them averse to love) O.o"

SJK....I haven't ever seen him play a CEO type character, but I can definitely see him pulling off the smooth and cool demeanour. He definitely has cold down pat with his previous roles...also could get away with all the cheese.

It would actually be interesting if the drama was re-made in Japanese...I think the actors/actress pool over there is more likely to have someone that could perfectly play WW and XN...probably even more so than YY =O

ooh agree I think the leads of Itazura Na Kiss (the male leads) for both japanese and taiwanese version could play Xiao Nai, idk if they'd have the same effect - but I'd love to see people's renditions of Xiao Nai since although Xiao Nai is cold - he's literally the most sexual filled puppy around Wei Wei lol

If all Gu Man dramas were re-made in Korean...

    Feng Teng - Ji Chang-wook

    Shan Shan - Han Hyo-joo

    He Yichen - Yoo Seung-ho

    Zhao Mosheng - Ha Ji-won

    Xiao Nai - Song Joong-ki

    Wei Wei - Park Shin-hye

Although this is based on totally ignoring all their real ages xD

I think XN remembers all the instances, he just pretends he doesn't. He definitely remembers the running because he was day-dreaming about it.

As much as I loved Park Shin Hye's bigger role in Doctors, and even though I know Wei Wei kissing isn't supposed to be as passionate as compared with Xiao Nai, I reallllly don't want to see through another "wide eye open kissing a wall" move. PSH is better now than in the past (maybe because of her skills and maybe because of the director) but she's not quite there in terms of kissing.

Song Joong ki would be major eye candy but for some reason I don't see him playing Xiao Nai lol. It's hard for me to decide on a Korean cast because I can only envision the cast through the Chinese drama because they really embodied their characters (or at least I felt)

Hehe..Your wish is mostly everyone wishes, lol.. well, just take it with grain of salt. Haha. well, the nature of their status is rather questionable, as both linkage to other person. Z's to her ex, and YY to his agency mate. I won't name the name, you could just googling it :)

Omg! You got me Loled so hard at "constipated"! ooh, please share that IG account, I really need that, for world peace :P
