  1. I have not watched the last 4 episodes, I don't know, I think I'm still in denial that it has ended, like prolonging the inevitable:( .

Still, I want to say THANK YOU! to our friends here who always post updates/BTS pics/promo pics/Official OST/Fan MVs, thank you for keeping us on the loop. Also special thanks to those that post live recaps/live subs/screencaps of the latest episode. Its a lot of help for us here who were not able to join you all in real-time watching.

Thank you also for all the intelligent, healthy (and most times pervy! :tongue: LOL!!) discussions we have here. I just wish I remembered my SOOMPI account earlier than I did, so I could have been here longer with you all.

Hope to see you all again in another Daebak Drama!!

NOW, I have to face the truth and watch the final episodes and say my goodbye to Min Kyu, Jiah, AJ3 and the Santa Maria Team..

    Anneyong!!

  2. That line on this week's preview, where Min Kyu says, "Even if Jia is not here, I have to continue working on myself", I have a feeling it means that Jiah will push through with her plan to go to Australia. Standard KDrama story trope, wherein they are "forced" to be apart again on the second to the last episode, then reunite again on the final episode after 1 year or so, Hays!!

Let me be wrong, please TV gods!

  3. I think IANAR doing very well internationally is the reason why we get to see it in its complete 32 episodes. Even if they did not fare well locally, the syndication/distribution to other countries alone, MBC earned a lot of profit from there. Otherwise, they would have cut it short, if they were not able to capture International fans/viewership.

Now, I am not sure about this, but I remember that it was discussed before in another forum, that if a drama did not fare well locally, then that drama suffers when it comes to the Network awards. Usually, they get snubbed/not considered. But, somebody please correct me if I am wrong. I hope I am wrong because I so want YSH and CSB to be recognized by their works in IANAR. They were really awesome individually and together as MK and JA/AJ3. And I really hope they win the Best Couple award!!!!!!

  4. @urd as I said, we can just agree to disagree. But, this is where I am coming from:  MK promised Jia/AJ3 that they are going there to Hwangmesan the next time there is a Meteor Shower. So, for Jia to even think/guess/assume/conclude that MK is going there, means that she HAS to know first that a Meteor Shower is happening that night on that very place.

For me, it does not make it lame that she was there because somebody may have said there's a meteor shower happening that specific night. I'd rather she was there because she chose to go there, that she knows and she is sure that MK is going to be there (her own volition and choice) and not because FATE just magically/fatefully sent her there (that she just went there, just because; that suddenly she knew there would be a meteor shower that very night MK touched their heart lamp, that MK will be there that very night.). For me, it is more romantic that Jia proactively and consciously sought him out, and went there because she's already sure HE is definitely there, and that she was prepared to face him and tell him everything, and fight for their love. That them meeting on that hill was because of their own choices and not because of chances.

But, that's just me. I don't rely too much on fate. It's more romantic for me that somebody does something for someone because they CHOOSE to, as opposed to doing something because FATE dictated that you should. I'd rather have things happen because of my choices and not because I chanced upon them. Again, that's just me.

No, it wasn't due to Sun Hye. The only reason AJ3 even knows about the event is through watching the promise from Jia's point of view. MK told Jia that he would take her there early on and that promise is something Jia would not forget, especially given how desperate she was to reconnect to MK at that point in the show. Sun Hye only knows of this promise from her conversations with Jia.

Well, that's your interpretation. I will keep mine, we can just agree to disagree. It can be how you said it happened, but then, if it was, then there was no need to show that scene between Sun Hye and real AJ3. And there is a big plot hole on how Jia knew how to go there on the perfect time that MK was there, too. She did not watch the tv news that said that it is happening that night, only Min Kyu. If anything, seeing that heart lighting up, she would just go to MK's house, without someone telling her the meteor shower is happening that night.  So, somebody must have told her where MK might be, and that's from SH (that's the significance of that scene between AJ3 and Sun Hye). SH tipping her where would MK be, does not mean JIa has forgotten their promise to be together there, but a way for Jia to make sure that she is able to fulfill that promise, that she will be there with him at the exact time and place.

    Can anybody justify my queries.

How would Ji A or MG know that after he lighted up the heart lamp they supposed to meet at that Mount?

Did they made a promised or anything?

MK promised JIa/AJ3. But I think Jia going was because of Sun Hye. I don't think she knows that the meteor shower was happening that particular night (Min Kyu knows because he watched it on the news). Remember, Sun Hye was with the real  AJ3 when she blurted out that she needs to go to Hwangmesan, because a friend promised they are going there. Then Sun Hye replied, "I think that friend is going to meet somebody else there".

That should definitely happen!! And, since MK is battling his biggest battle yet re KM FInancial and the Sta Maria Team and AJ3 selling, is it too much to ask for a comfort scene between MK and JA?

YC's father seems like was involved in MK's parents death, I hoped the story won't take that path but I guess its the only way to take down that oldie completely.

    1

MK's parents did die in an (unfortunate) car accident. What YC's father was guilty of having a hand with was the death of Pres. Park, the head. of Daeyang Group, (I think its a sub-branch of KM Financial), the one responsible for the Sta. Maria Team, and their robot project. Jang Doo Sam used to be Pres. Park's driver and has the recording of him meeting with YC's father, and YC's father telling him to just sell Sta. Maria to Martin's company, and that Min-Kyu will not be interested in furthering research study/funding project about AI/robot. He was killed because he refused to sell/follow YC's dad's plan.

Although I wonder why KMK insisted or rather, refrained on not wanting JA to tell him about her being the inventor of that 2 umbrellas? Any reason why he acted like that?

Also, the one who we sometimes forget and just put aside - Aji-3. All these time her being on charging or standby mode I almost forget her role in all this but then she reminds us on her deep learning ability.

She never forget about the promise about watching the meteor shower, reading the mood of Santa Maria team during the sent off, being a 'mon ami' to KMK and the part when she escape on her own from the foreigner's captive just to go home back to KMK.

He refrained or stopped Jia from telling him about the umbrella not because she did not want her to tell him about being the inventor of those umbrellas. He already knows about it. What he stopped her from doing is telling him about their first kiss, which Jia as AJ3 1st initiated. He did not want her to discuss it, because at that moment, as far as he knows, he cannot touch her without having an allergic reaction, so he does not want to be reminded that his first kiss might also be his last one. That's what also triggered him trying to say goodbye to her. He realized that with his allergy back, they won't be able to touch. They won't be able to share and show their love through physical means. As he said, he does not want her to suffer as he did for15 years, he really believed that his allergy is there to last his lifetime until they kissed again.:D:wub:

I have a feeling home is where the Santa Maria Team is and where Jia and MK is, too (not just MK). These are the people that showed her most how it is to be "human". These are the people who are the most affected when she was taken away.

  10. There's another scene I want to see happen. I want Jia to ask MK how his allergy started. I want her to know that it was triggered by the act of betrayal. I want her to also know that it was the betrayal of YC, that triggered it. Then, she will be the one to tell YC (or maybe Riel) all about it. I think, for MK to be truly healed it has to start with him forgiving the very person who started it all - Yoo Chul. And it can only happen if Yoo Chul finally realized his friend became this kind of person, and suffered a lot, because of his actions, and that he needs to ask forgiveness from him.

But then, if not Jia, I think another person that should know about it is BG. I think he can also understand more why it was hard for MK to totally forgive him because he considered him as his hyung, so it's kinda the same circumstance as with YC (somebody that MG treated as "brother" but ended up betraying/lying to him). Then BG could be the one slapping this truth to YC, as a last effort to do something for MK...

    EDITED TO ADD:

I just found this amazing video on YT, a cross-over vids from their historical dramas to their scenes in IMNAR! This is made beautifully, and I want to share!

Now, I so want to see both of them again act together in a Sageuk Drama!!! It could be a light comedy/melo (kinda like  the tone of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds). Please, please TV Gods!!

  11. Just sharing my thoughts...

With regards to their kiss, it was MK's 1st initiated kiss. It happened out of the blue, and he is still kinda testing the water (thus, the hesitation, kinda-tepid way they were kissing), cause he doesn't know yet if he will have an allergic reaction or not. But, I bet you, now that he does not need to worry, I hope he would be extra the next time (please, more kisses! He needs to practice, and practice makes perfect!). This is a man who was repressed in all aspect (you know, specially in anything physical *wink*wink*), hehe!

Now, I have one scene I wish we could see. A funny but romantic one. I want to see MK be open with his relationship with Jia to the Sta. Maria team, and then maybe they will do PDA to the extreme, he would be too handsy, since you know, they are making up for those lost times, wahaha! Then BG and the rest of the team will just tell them "Just go get a room!!" BWAHAHA!:D

  12. This is just my 2 cents. I hope no one gets offended. But, I don't think its right to call MK's reaction as abusive. His reaction is the sum/collection of all the struggles/frustrations/hurt and betrayal he has undergone when JA/AJ3 came into his life. He is one conflicted soul. Remember when he realized that he is falling in love with a "robot"? All the confusion he felt, the self-doubt, and the hopelessness because you finally learned to love and feel loved, but its unacceptable? Now imagine finding out that all those confusion, hurt and doubts could have been prevented if the other party was truthful to him. Add to that, the confusion he again felt, when he saw her on that train, and all the grovelling/following he did, just so he could at least get to know the face behind his precious AJ3, finding out that she has the same  characteristics he loved from his "AJ3", but instead of her giving him a chance to get to know her more as herself, he was  pushed/turned away. We all know where Jia is coming from, she has a valid reason for doing this, but MK is not privy to that information yet. Then the final nail in the coffin: finding out that they are one and the same, and that she has been keeping a lot of things from you, but most hurtful of all, she was supposed to be the very source of his cure, the one woman who could give him the happiness and love he has longed for 15 years, but because of that secret, she took everything away from him. In his eyes, he was tricked, played at, made a fool of, his heart stomped-on, the very same thing his friend YC and his father did to him before, but much worse because it was done by the one woman he truly loves.

Could he have reacted better? Definitely! But then we have to consider, everything was always internal with MK, until Jia/AJ3 came into his life. Jia has the support of SunHye and his sister-in-law. She even has the support of the Santa Maria team, so she has some form of release, emotional support around her always available. MK, in his belief, only has Jia/AJ3, and she betrayed him. So who does he have now? Yes, he has warmed up to the Santa Maria team, but it was not on the same level as his precious "robot ", it's only Jia/AJ3 that he really trusted and pour his heart out whenever he's confused/has issues.

His verbal rant to Jia? That is him pouring everything out!! It's him being truthful to what he feels. [Actually, that is one character of MK that I really love - his (sometimes brutal) honesty.] Why do you think he only let go of it all to her? Because deep inside, he knows, that Jia is also the only person who would be able to understand where he is coming from. That's what I like about MK, he is always upfront to Jia on what he feels. He does not know how to keep it. And Jia knows him like that. She's the only one that truly understands and knows him.

I think that is why they are perfect for each other too. Jia knows how to handle him.

That glass that he threw away, he did not throw it at Jia. He threw it on that glass cabinet. He did it out of frustration because Jia was not giving him the answer that would satisfy him (though we all know nothing will because he is still clouded by all the hurt). But, see Jia is taking it all in. Not because she is a doormat, but because she knows MK needs to let it all out.

With regards to Jia, I love her growth in this episode. She ran away from BG when things are getting tough between them. This time, she chose to stay and try to explain her side of things. Despite knowing how hurt she would be, she chose to face it.

  13. I have a feeling, base on those stills posted, Jia will come clean with everything. How she is also Pres. Jo, and that she is also the inventor of the heart, as well as the sister of Jo Jin-bae. Like a last effort to explain, and maybe get back his trust. But, MK will not understand at first/will be too hurt to realize that he has been drawn to the real Jia all along. Eventually he would come to terms that him thinking she was a Robot was just a way to open his heart to her, but that he fell in love with her "realness" (as Jia), the way she cared, cheered for him always, and the way she accepted him, flaws and all.

  14. @paperboat04 thanks for sharing that insight/answering our questions!

I did not want to ship them at first, although I really love their chemistry from the moment they shared a scene. They are perfect as Min Kyu and Ji-Ah/AJ3, and both of them are really gorgeous to look at. But what pushed me was seeing those BTS!! There is something going on there. It reminded me so much when Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae flirted during their BTS and afterward during interview promotions for My Girl. There was a strong rumor that they dated for a while after that drama concluded.

Although they did not confirm or deny it, through the years they remained good friends, and that friendly flirting and bantering continued on when they did their reunion project, Hotel King.

I watched their behind the scenes videos.

There was this scene that they were shopping and the crew asked YH and CB if they were close irl, the sharing of 1 cup and the teasing and hugging off cam. I am actually quite surprised because I havent seen YSH so comfortable, touchy and happy with his female co star. haha I hope they'll date in real life.  they were so adorable.

I cant wait for today's episode.

    6

    Spoiler

That's what I want to ask the YSH longtime fans here. Was he this chummy/playful with his other co-stars before? He seems to have the tendency to be shy, but with Soo Bin, he always laughs and gives as good as she gives when it comes to joking around. And he really is a bit touchy with her, as evident in their BTS, hehe!!:D

And if it was already answered, sorry! I am too lazy to track back and read the hundred+ pages, hehe!

I know I might be in the minority here, but I hope they establish their friendship first before they do the dating thing (BUT really, they should date I don't care when, but they really should, LOL!). As I have noticed from those KDrama couples that ended up married, MOST of them did not date until after a year, (or months) after their drama finished. I think this works better. I think that is the danger of dating immediately after doing a drama, you are clouded by the emotions your characters felt while doing scenes together, that when reality sets in and your partner turned out to be different in person than the characters he/she portrays, disillusionment happens, you part ways (which I fervently pray does not happen to them if they ever decide to date!). I think it's better to be really close friends first, (cause you know they will act with many other co-stars, meet other different kinds of people) then realize, yes, no one compares to him/her. Although there are some exceptions that made it work, dated while they were filming or immediately after filming, most of those couples are older/more mature in age, so they have already "sowed the fields" as the saying goes.

HAHA!! Excuse my ramblings. Bottom line, I want them to be each other's endgame, HEHE!!

I am glad that's not the exact situation here, for MK has Ji ah .. but I am still concerned for AJ i3..since she made a back up file all on her own, can she really be having feelings ? Oh my

I think AJ3 made the folder, because she just followed what JA/AJ3 promised to MK, that she will not forget their time together. She considered JA as a friend that's why she "saved" that folder in consideration of her promise to MK. I think that is what the Santa Maria team overlooked: that it's not just MK or the team that's inputting something to AJ3, but also Ji-Ah. Actually, it was able to process things through Ji-Ah's eyes/feelings, in how Ji-Ah, and MK interact with each other. That's how she made that decision to save the supposed to be deleted moments because she has "deduced" that they need to preserve those moments, that it is important for the both of them. It's not that she has developed "feelings" it's more that she can read human emotions better now than it was before.

I hope they're not going to lie to him again...

    1

I think that maybe that's a scene where MK will talk to AG3, and she would eventually show him the "Monami" file. That's how he would realize that although they "initially" deceived him, what JA as AG3 showed him was her real care/feelings. That they "prolonged" the deceit because they were all afraid for his life, the probable "fatal" shock it will cause him. I just hope that Dr. Oh will talk to him first, cause there were a number of times they wanted to get clean, but he was the one always telling them not to.

But then on the other hand, it makes me think if it is that easy to fool him for such a long time, how did he manage to stay in his seat as a director when there are so many people going after him like this? PS: to answer my own question, I guess that he is more vulnerable and gullible than the average person when he has his guard down, especially after putting it up for so long. It's like people who are protected too well has worse immune system than those who are exposed to minor bacterias all the time!

    2
    2

I think because the people in the company, in his POV are ALL untrustworthy, so his guard is always on around them. He let his guard down, as you have said when he met  AJ3/Jia, and the Santa Maria team. because they came into his life when he was getting tired of his situation and soooooo want to change it, so he "cling-ed" to the  "hope" that his circumstance could be better through this robot and her creators.

Actually, he may look grown-up, but his emotional and social growth were stunted. He was a recluse for 15 years! Minimal human interaction, no physical contact. I bet you all the human concepts/knowledge that he knows, he got from books, or the internet, and maybe by observing, but not from physically experiencing it. So the way he reacted is childish because that is what he is, emotionally and socially incapable/stagnant.

  19. I think this drama is using the irony-trope too much (but don't get me wrong I still love this drama, just not blinded to see the makjang elements, hehe!:D). The very thing that triggered his allergy (betrayal/deceit) is the thing that paved way for him to be cured. Now that he is cured, the very thing that they want to avoid happening (him having a fatal allergic reaction, that's why they decided to keep JA identity to him) is what is going to happen based on the preview. :frown::grimace:

  20. I have not watched today's episodes. I want to wait until tomorrow so I could watch all 4. Thank you for all the real-time recaps, it helps me in restraining from watching/waiting.

I hope that before MK discovers the truth, JA gets a chance to be hugged/touch as herself, so she could freely reciprocate his touch(and Please, he MUST also know that his Doctor and the rest of the Sta Maria team were all complicit in the lie!!! Let him know all about it in one go, I think after the shock and hurt, its much easier to understand why they did that: to protect him/fear of how it will affect him). I want JA to at least be able to express her love freely, before her world crumbles again...
