Song Hye-kyo's 1.8 billion won house in New York, rises to 2.8 billion won after 8 years
Song Hye-kyo came in 9th place out of all celebrities who have succeeded investing in real estate abroad.
Song Hye-kyo took home two awards at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Song Joong-ki and was seen later at an after party with Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in.
Song Hye-kyo bought houses in Samsung-dong in 2004 and 2008 and has billions in real estate fortune. Apparently, she has real estate fortune overseas as well.
Why did she decide to invest in real estate abroad? Song Hye-kyo was in New York for the American Independent movie "Fetish" and bought a house there.
Song Hye-kyo also mentioned once, "I travel alone when I have time. I love New York. I go there by myself". She is spotted in New York 8 years later today by herself and looking natural.
The house she has in New York is S Condo located in Manhattan, New York. It overlooks Central Park and has convenient transportation. On the inside, the condo has 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms and is neatly furnished.
Song Hye-kyo bought the house for 1.8 billion won but is now an astounding 2.78 billion won. The monthly rent alone is 7.7 million won.

Actress' refusal to endorse Japanese Corp. applauded
Veteran South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo, who played a leading role on the popular TV drama "The Descendants of Sun," has recently refused an offer to endorse a famous Japanese brand.
Her refusal has won a big applause from a South Korean woman who is about 88 years old.
Recalling her miseries when she worked in a Japanese factory in 1944, the granny sent a letter to Song, saying that Madam Song has done something that even the President cannot do.
The Japanese factory mentioned in the letter belongs to the corporation whose offer Song denied.
The granny, who was falsely promised that she could enter a junior high school in Japan and earn lots of money before she embarked on her trip towards the country some forty years ago, found instead she was treated like cheap labor, working under difficult circumstances day and night and always on the verge of starvation. During her miserable life in Japan, she witnessed six of her colleagues die during a strong earthquake.
Tears came pouring out when she learned of Song's refusal to the Japanese company's offer, which according to her, helped her vent anger that had been harbored at the bottom of her hearts for so many years.
"Thank you Madam Song for being so resolute in making this choice," the granny wrote in her letter.
The sentiments in the granny's complimentary letter were echoed by a huge number of South Korean people when it was shown to the public.
"We feel so proud that Song is an actress from South Korea," some South Korean people commented.

Victim of forced labor thanks Song Hye-kyo for rejecting Mitsubishi Motors
A Korean woman who was pressganged into labor during the Japanese colonial era thanked actress Song Hye-kyo for rejecting an offer from Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors in a handwritten letter, Yonhap News Agency reported Monday.
The 84-year-old lady named Yang Geum-duk wrote in the letter that she was “exalted” to hear the news.
“Song did a fabulous job, which even President Park Geun-hye could not achieve,” Yang said. “This was so moving that I felt like my old resentment washed away. I was exalted.”
Yang was conscripted when she was a sixth grader, and sent to a fighter jet factory run by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagoya, Japan. She was not paid for her 18 months of labor. The Japanese giant is known to have mobilized more than 100,000 Koreans for forced labor before and during World War II. According to Yonhap News Agency, Mitsubishi Motor has extended neither apology nor compensation. The Japanese carmaker, which was spun off from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 1970, asked Song Hye-kyo to appear in a Chinese advertisement. The offer, however, was declined last month by Song’s agency UAA, which “didn’t even require a second glance.”
Song garnered worldwide popularity after she starred in KBS 2TV series “Descendants of the Sun.”

Song Hye-kyo shines in black and white
Actress Song Hye-kyo showed off a new portrait in a black-and-white photo uploaded onto her Instagram account, Sunday.
As always, Song applied a very thin layer of makeup, displaying a natural look. Despite the light makeup, she looked charismatic in the photo as she gazed deeply into the camera.
Even though the picture was taken from close up, she showed a bit of her overall outfit with a chic black jacket neatly worn over a top. Under her long, wavy hair dangled a pair of big, fancy earrings.
Song Hye-kyo has recently proved her ability to win over drama viewers once again through the hit KBS drama series “Descendants of the Sun.”

Song Hye-kyo interview Part ② ‘Life as Top Star‘
Global star actress Song Hye-kyo held a press interview session at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on Wednesday. The K-pop Herald posed questions from global readers to the 34-year-old Song. Below is the second installment of the Song Hye-kyo interview series.
Actress Song Hye-kyo (UAA) On the success in her acting career: [asked by Tu Ngoc (Vietnam) My Han (Vietnam) Jenny Nguyen (Vietnam) Quynh Vu (Vietnam) Thuy (Vietnam) Oanh (Vietnam) Mai Phan Duyen Anh (Vietnam) Dinh Thuy Duong (Vietnam) Tran Van Trung (Vietnam) Kathlyn Laudit (the Philippines) Venice Natividad (the Philippines) Rafika Nilasari (Indonesia)]
“Acting has never been easy, and it will never be. When I was younger, I thought time will tell. But as I become more seasoned, it was the complete opposite. I became very nervous whenever I start filming a new work, to this day. I think a lot about the character I play. I became stressed thinking about how to portray the character the best way.
“Even after completing a successful role, nothing much changes. I will do as I have always been doing. It won’t lead to any change of direction in my career.”
On life as top celebrity Song Hye-kyo: [asked by The K-pop Herald]
“Song Hye-kyo is like an ordinary person. I used to have many friends to hang out with when I was young. I had so many that I could not take care of all of them. Nowadays, the older I get, I lose more friends. I became increasingly cautious in terms of relationships to the degree that I only hang out with those who can tolerate anything that I do. I cry if something bad happens, I grab a drink with friends when I get stressed out, I travel, I sometimes lash out at my closest friends. The only difference is that I’m a celebrity and I’m shown to the world. Apart from that, I think I’m like most women my age.”
“Nowadays, as the filming session is complete, I usually stay idle. I was so stressed out and exhausted, which leaves me spaced out. Now is the time for recovery, without worrying about anything.”
On her patriotic-driven project with professor Seo Kyoung-duk: [asked by Intan Amandita (Indonesia) Meevie Love Toledo (the Philippines) Lee Hyun-soo (South Korea)]
“Professor Seo and I have worked on a string of projects over several years. I noticed that when I visited a museum abroad, Korean instructions on an artwork or an object were not given, while Chinese or Japanese instructions were available. I asked him why, and I said it’s deplorable. News reports about our project spread. I thought it was just a minor thing. I still have a lot to learn. Helping Seo gives me a lot of lessons. I ask him questions while doing the project, and he answers me, then I‘m on a learning process. I believe I’m in the right direction, so I will continue our project,”
On her future acting roles and upcoming projects: [asked by Melina Tiarso (Indonesia), Cybelle Futalan (the Philippines) Camille Aniguid (the Philippines) Sharon Oh (Singapore) Virna (Indonesia) Amanda (the United States) Albina Atisheva (Kazakhstan) Carla Cruz (the Philippines) Venice Natividad (the Philippines) Kim Da-song (South Korea) Ngan (Vietnam) Mai Dung (Vietnam) Kang So-eun (South Korea) Park Se-jeong (South Korea) Nichakamol Chaifu (Thailand) Lee Hwa-jeong (South Korea) Mix M. (China) Tiffany Yun (South Korea) Christine Chow (Singapore) Paige Lee (Malaysia) Caroline Orada and Manilyn Magcanam (the Philippines) Cecilia (Hong Kong) Neneng Fitriani (Indonesia) Angela Tao (China) Jennifer (the United States) Yangliu (China) Oh Min-young (South Korea) Regina Reyes (the Philippines) Xin Yi (Singapore) Luna (Vietnam) Meevie Love Toledo (the Philippines) Putri Aisyah (Indonesia) Hansa (Indonesia) Thu Dng (Vietnam) Mia Cajita (the United States) Fidah (Indonesia) Sun Lan (China) Choi Woo-jin (South Korea) Lee Hyun-soo (South Korea) Saba (Pakistan) Kou Xingxing (China) Jiayii Pan (Malaysia) Tinsley (Hong Kong) An (Vietnam)]
Actress Song Hye-kyo (UAA) “I haven’t decided which project I will be engaged in. I hope I could work with like-minded staff and actors. I’m not sure whether my future project is Chinese or Korean.”
“On the character I want to play in the future, I have a lot in mind, but as you see, there are only limited roles a Korean actress could play. I do get offers for roles in thrillers, a genre I never tried before, but I haven’t accepted a role because there are many things to consider, like the quality of the writing. I wish there were more diverse choices for actresses, as there are for actors. A lot of great Korean actresses remain out of the limelight because the roles they can play are limited. I hope directors could offer actresses more diverse genres or more multidimensional characters.
On plans for marriage: [asked by Roxan Syska (the Philippines) Sharon Oh (Singapore) Virna (Indonesia) Venice Natividad (the Philippines) Tu Ngoc (Vietnam) My Han (Vietnam) Jenny Nguyen (Vietnam) Quynh Vu (Vietnam) Thuy (Vietnam) Oanh (Vietnam) Mai Phan Duyen Anh (Vietnam) Uyen Pham (Vietnam) Aline Tran (Vietnam) Minh Hang (Vietnam) Amoy (Indonesia) Tran Van Trung (Vietnam) Natasha Cecilia (Indonesia) Nguyen Hanh (Vietnam) Dinh Thuy Duong (Vietnam) Neneng Fitriani (Indonesia) Eiryazieliszya (Malaysia) Sandy Mok (China) Farah Sharon (Indonesia) Angela Tao (China) Hang Trinh (Vietnam) Karen (Vietnam) Thao Hieu (Vietnam) Siwi (Indonesia) Nadya Zeane (Indonesia) Regina Reyes (the Philippines) Lee Eun-ji (South Korea) Sun Lan (China)]
“I’m old enough to get married. But I see myself swaying. One day I’m like ‘I should marry someone soon’ and another day I’m like ‘Why get married? I’m a free-spirited individual. I can travel to all kinds of places without asking anyone’s permission. I can do whatever I want.’ But someday the day for marriage will eventually come.”
