KNG? Wow never thought he had that many endorsements :o I'm happy for him... may I know who is the other 3?

I still wish that he will make another drama asap lol

Same, but only if filming conditions changes bc towards the end the leads did look significantly more tired in LUTYN :( when I heard about his medical history, I felt bad that he would get sick due to overworking himself. Hopefully he gets a good rest before filming again!!

Hello, Newbie here. Been a new fan of KNG since LUTYN. Glad that he return to small screen after 4yrs of being hiatus. I read that after this drama he will take another a 4yr break. Is true? Do you guys have an idea why he has to take a break that long? 4yrs is way toooo long for us to see him again. :( is it because of his health or is going to start a family? I'm so confused. Maybe I just really like him that much to the point that reading that post made me blue.

I believe that was just a guess looking at his filming history. Due to the rigorous live filming environment a lot of actors would rather focus on films not to mention dramas tend to be more restrictive of creative freedom for writers compared to films. KNG seemed to go for the types of projects that may not be too popular but has stronger content. I hope to see the filming environment improve in the future i.e more pre-produced dramas so that we will get to see KNG in a drama once every 2yrs. I hope he achieves international recognition for his acting bc he is an amazing actor, I would love to see him at the Cannes more often! Also, congratulation to oppa being the 4th ranked CF male celebrity.

interview with translations during the Cannes Festival photocall

Kim Nam Gil speaks in English at the last part . So cute !

LyraYoo, thanks for uploading this. Although he only says a few words in English, it seems to me that he understood  English pretty well bc they didn't use a translator to translate the questions unless, that part was cut out :D

    hello everyone :)

gotta agree from all your stand about HJW her pros and cons as an actress, but what just irks me was that she's being dragged down just because of this worst kisser title she gained lately, when before TTWWNIL it was not a problem of her. I know some fans don't mind the criticism from others, but others do mind actually. And from what I've observed, her strengths being an actress kind of being overshadowed just because of her awkward portrayal when it comes to kissing scenes nowadays, or how she acted out of being a cutesy-aegyo way. My conclusion of the latter I could see, oh well just really not her forte being cute and all onscreen, and for her kissing scenes if she's not comfortable these days I just hope that PD's wont mind forcing her to do it LOL  I just don't want her to be bash unnecessarily, well part of me can say that kissing is part of acting that actors should make some effort to make it look more natural, for it to be convincing to the viewers, it's part of their work after all. But really Jiwon, just stay away from it, if you're really not into doing it on-screen :D if you're tired or what like the excuse you've said in TTWWNIL days.

The reason why I would prefer her to be in a melo, badass, serious, heavy type of projects genre with no touch of comedy or unnecessary cutesy romance at all.

P.S. I am already contented her just being a cute munchkin in real life. :D

I think it just takes practice really because her real life personality is very playful and cute. I hate how it doesn't always translate on screen. I mean if I were her and I know passionate scenes are my weaknesses, I would take projects were I am forced to become better at it bc like you said as an actress it is a part of their job to make the audience feel that the love connection is real. The elevater kiss in SG with her eyes slightly closed tumblr_ll9zs6zuvS1qi18rvo1_500.gifwas the best I've seen her do!

  5. Hello @andra30, since you are confuse dear let me explain this to you. It is rude to call out other forum members for not being a fan when they do not share the same sentiment as you. I noticed you do not try to understand the content of a post before reacting to it, it is very unfortunate.

For example, the other forum member clearly said that they wanted to see more emotions or other ways to express feelings of being in love but you jumped to conclusions by saying HJW didn't need to use tongue or have sexy scenes to show feelings of love in HS.

  6. I wanted to make a comment about the

noona dongsaeng relationship & HJW's kiss scene being discussed on other forums. However, seeing how some members are being attacked for sharing their opinions it is a bit sad & not fun sharing these things anymore on this thread.

I used to frequent this thread right after it was announced that HJW was cast for HS. I remembered there were a few people who were quite critical of HJW's recent movie/drama choices. It was nice to be able to have an open discussion about her latest fashion/movie/drama choices without being labeled as "not a true fan" if we did not love nearly all her choices.

It's a bit frightening and offputting to be called out on this thread as a non-fan if we are not always in agreement with other members. You know who you are, please keep this thread peaceful & classy by refraining from attacking other members for having an opinion. We should also not jump to conclusions and actually try to understand what the other person is trying to say. As long as an opinion is objective and not just spewing hate, it is perfectly acceptable.

Lee Byung-heon out of John Woo film, Ha Ji-won possibly in

    hajiwon_142.jpg

There was a bit of a hullabaloo, but we finally have the facts on Hollywood film director John Woo’s (Mission: Impossible II) new international project, Manhunt. When it was first announced, a whole bunch of names were thrown around as potential leads and up until March, Lee Byung-heon (Inside Men) was one of the strongest contenders.

However, Lee has officially declined to be in Woo’s new film citing scheduling conflicts. His agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that Lee would be too busy promoting his two upcoming films, Master and The Magnificent Seven, to fit Manhunt into his schedule.

On the other hand, actress Ha Ji-won (The Chronicle of a Blood Merchant) announced that she has received the script, and is currently in the process of reviewing it. Part of the controversy resulted when Hong Kong media source Apple Daily reported mistakenly that both actors had confirmed their participation in the film. In addition, this source announced that Korean stars Ha Ji-won, Shin Mina, and Ji Jin-hee had all joined a talent agency under the Chinese entertainment conglomerate the Media Asia Group. However, this has also been proven false, as Ha’s current domestic agency, Moon and Stars Entertainment, revealed that she is only considering signing on with the Media Asia Group.

Manhunt is a loose remake of the Japanese film of the same title, which is about a small district office prosecutor who has been framed for a crime he didn’t commit and then sets out to prove his innocence. Filming is set to start in Osaka, Japan, this June.

I really hope she can act along side KDW again. I would cry if that were to happen :)

Not really a fan of HJM.....mianeyo.....cant see the chemistry working tbh... (from HJM)....and though she is an amazing actress in her own right and drop dead gorgeous too,  the female role should be given to someone who appears soft and gentle, naive and sweetheart'ish...if you know what I mean...but whomever they choose....its going to be amazing wonderful. .YAY!!!!!

Another one to look forward to,  OH EM GEE.....life in K-DRAMALAND just gets better and better every time....GY FIGHTING!

It's ha ji won not HJM. And she can definitely play any role given to her.

  9. The make up looks so bad. They are drawing her eyebrows way to big :( can wardrobe and makeup please match her star quality? Please!!! Why can't she get her makeup done with JSM? Sorry to complain but she could look so much better if her stylist would wakeup and realize what they are doing to her image.  I'm going to have an opportunity to see her at a private event. I thought about telling her this but I feel rude considering it will be my first time meeting her. I'm torn :(

@joowonie I certainly so love that idea.. :w00t:

Hurray for today!!! Or maybe a reunion with Hyun Bin. It's not a bad idea, I guess..;)

    Crossed fingers..

Yes, it is so weird how Korean actors don't often work together with their previous costars until years later. Chinese and Taiwanese actors would sometimes do back to back activities together. I'm so jealous :(

  11. I really want to see HJW take on more diverse roles like JDJ. HJW is so talented, I hate seeing her play the same characters bc I feel it is a waste of her talent. She should stick to movies where she has more creative control :). I am also curious about the people who are in charge of styling and makeup bc like what another forum member have said they don't do her justice. As fans we should kindly let her know what's not working :)

  12. I really want to see KDW in a well written drama with ha ji won like a comedy that would be interesting.I saw him on a variety show once and thought he was really adorable & quirky!! I would love to see him in something written by writer Lee Woo-jung and directed by Shin Won-ho, a duo who values human relationships. I think KES's dramas are a hit or miss. Recently, esp with Heirs, she's become to commercialized it's quite disappointing.  Soleram said: czakhareina said: hey guys just came from a kdrama blogger who wrote that writer Kim Eun Sook (who is writing a new drama titled Descendants of the Sun) meet with wuri Kang dong won. They had lunch in SBS studio. Has anyone read or heard any ramblings of him coming back to dramaland?
I know in his recent interviews, he stated of preferring movies over dramas but I for one would love him in dramas.
The drama (descendants of the sun) plot is so out there and not yet solid. The writer itself is not my fave but she is know to write Ratings magnet dramas(Secret Garden, lover in paris, lovers in Prague and the most recent Heirs). Basing on KDW's choices in projects, he has always been on picking awesome and solid writing and production> So I am a little curious as to what this could mean. I personally hope he doesn't sign on. KES dramas (in my opinion) are not all solid or well written. If he signs on a drama and make a drama comeback, I wish it would be from writer Lee Kyung Hee (Sangdoo Lets go to school, Innocent Man, Thank you) or Lee Woo Jung, Park Ji Eun, or Song JIna or Kim young hyun.
Even if he doesn't take this, if it is true that he did meet with the writer, could it mean that KDW's drama comeback is getting near?

anyway this is where i read it, from the comments part | reply of the writer to a reader named Aluahttp://koalasplayground.com/2014/07/31/sbs-confirms-june-2015-premiere-for-new-kim-eun-sook-overseas-pre-produced-drama-descendants-of-the-sun/
