Just wanna say this episode really made me appreciate BY has beautiful eyes, slightly slanting with the lid half-closed aka bedroom eyes. Forgive me Commander @pyoyong , cant resist.
Back to thinking something pure : love the scene when he responded to RaOn's voice. These 2 have come a long way since being just roommates.
I like this episode.

3. what happens with the rebellion?
In my opinion, HGN is no longer interested in resurrecting any rebellion against the King. As shown in episode 16 HGN still bear a tremendous guilt for the loss of so many innocent people over the failed coup. Instead it has been Eunuch Han ambitious for the past 10 years. Now he is dead and with his death the rebel is done and buried. I dont think CP need to worry about that anymore.
I guess because he thots the loss of so many lives was he fault, HGN was living like a recluse all these years. He thot he did not deserve to live happily with his wife and doter. He only appeared sooner becoz his doter is in danger. Which in turn caused the King to collapse at the opportune moment for the wedding ceremony to be postponed.
Whats left for the final episode is the downfall of Premier Kim and his doter the EQ. I just not sure in what order. Am waiting to be surprise as always by the drama.

Actually the way I see it , HY family is not that powerful to act against the Kim Clan. In this drama Minister Jo is shown as a mild mannered man who like fishing , dotes on his doter and has no intention to use her as a political tool.I mean it does not even matter to him whether HY is marrying a Kim or a Lee. He wants what she wants. So he is just not aggressive or ambitious enough to me. I think thats why Premier Kim was not worried about the wedding.
Anyway the writer showed 2 occasions where Minister Jo fail to help LY. First when Premium Kim threaten to quit in episode 15 and he just stood there helpless doing nothing and second in episode 16 when Premium Kim manipulated the King to be the one who interrogate HGN even with LY and Minister Jo protesting against it they failed to change the King's mind. The Kims has the ultimate power now coz the King in their pocket. Premier Kim is so good at pushing the King's buttons. Thats why as per now I'm not really convinced (I'm not sure how they wrote HY family in the novel) the Jo clan can stop the Kims.
Maybe since the story is a fiction, I hope the writer find a way to make RaOn the Crown Princess. @Jillia maybe LY can revoke HY appointment as the Crown Princess. He did let Eunuch Ma and his court lady gf leave the palace. I would love to see this ending. (Yeah I'm still holding on to @moodypie perfect ending). Rather than LY abandons his throne to be with RaOn. Anyway I can't see RaOn would agree to LY leaving the palace since she always mindful of his duties to the nation. Unless something convinced her otherwise like for instance she is pregnant with LY's baby and the only place for her and her baby to be safe are somewhere far away from the palace.

What I dont understand is LY keep saying he does not want to marry HY or any other woman for that matter. It was the King's crazy idea. As the Queen told HY, he kept saying No. Even Eunuch Han told the same to RaOn. When he
madeno, he agreed what HY offered him when she sneaked up on him in his private library ( I blame RaOn for giving her pass) I assumed he did that just to get her off his back. I mean he was getting tired of her pestering him. But after that bracelet cutting scene, we saw him getting ready for his wedding, for him to change his mind after what happened between him and RaOn, am I right to assume at that point in time he was giving up on her .I blame part of what happen on Eunuch Han. He looked so concern and caring for her being her father's old friend but he has his own agenda for not wanting RaOn to be with LY. I am sure he is aware that LY is trying to be the better king than his father and to get rid of the corrupt Kims. Eunuch Han sort of insinuating to her she is making him shirked his duty and not taking of himself properly. Well poor RaOn. There was so much that a very young gal can take. What with the trauma of seeing him all bloodied, thinking she lost him. Then to discover she is THAT rebel's doter. Not to mention coming to term with the incoming WEDDING that everyone is talking about. And she can't talk about her heartache with anyone. She has no close friend that she could talk to. Talking to her mom is out of question becoz she did not want mom to worry. And some people still expect her to continue be her cheerful and spunky self despite all these.

It was a good tactical move made by BY to get RaOn, her dad and the rebel group out from the palace. The rebels were outnumbered. For some reason Eunuch Han seemed to abandon them what with his command to protect the King and the Crown Prince. Hmm I don't understand his motive for saying that. LY was so ready to commit treason for his person. He was in the middle of drawing out BY's sword when the rebels beat him to it. So BY knew LY will not just stand there and do nothing to save RaOn.
Love the focus was on BY's face during this scene. You can see the conflict and the calculations in his head. The moment he reached his decision in his head you can see there was no hesitation. A true warrior indeed. Creating a standoff was the best move at that time. And I don't see him as taking the rebels side when he pointed his sword to LY's neck. I see it as a strategic move given the circumstances. Well the least it effectively stopped the King from shouting chop chop chop.
** the moment BY killed that assassin who attacked LY , I cease to question his loyalty to LY. I hope LY would know better. And the moment BY sewed that doll for RaOn, I realise he loved her too.
Now what will YS do? I wonder whether he would choose to be with BY and RaOn. Love to see Premier Kim's face if that happen even tho I don't want to see YS to get hurt ever.

If the actor's acting can bring out these strong emotion from the audience, it means he has done very well indeed. The plot requires a very weak King to justify the uprising of HGN and his rebel group and be easily manipulated by the Kims. Our CP surely will learn not to repeat the mistakes by his father.
I would love to see him turns to Premium Kim and commands " Chop his head!!". They can show Premium Kim wtf expression as his head rolls. Well one can only hope. Lol.

CP is far from stupid he would know what he is up against as he had a stack of his own guards moments ago bust into a room with swords drawn, with daddy dearest and the torture i figure he was not going to be that blind to walk into a sitation like that without some sort of idea. I wouldnt of thought that Ra-on was part of the plan, I think that threw things out.
But i figure in order for peace her father cant die, i am guessing he would of arranged something to be staged to get her father out (remember back with the Qing taking RO earlier the prince stalled for time until chief kim could get back).
I am now going to summise and again i could be wrong it wasnt anticipated for it to go down like that as RO was the outside factor but Chief Kim's hestitation was not because of the cloud group, it was cause CP ordered him to do what ever he has to to protect the prisoner, which CP would throw himself under the bus if necessary. Sure cheif Kim has been reluctantly playing both sides and you can feel the confusion and guilt of doing that from him. But I would be gutted if after all these years of being there even if CP was a beast at times, they were extremely good friends. So i really would not think that he would under any circumstanced do that to CP without instructions from CP himself.
You may have something there @fragglerock. Now everyone who is everyone in the plot were all gathered there. I am just waiting for our teacher D (sorry cant recall his full name) to make his entrance with something incriminating. Or Consort Park with her doter perhaps.
All I wish is they wrap up this RaOn traitor family issue in episode 17 and indulge us with plenty of lovey dovey scenes for our couple. I still have hope for that perfect ending.
*** RaOn and CP when they were talking in that room they both appeared at ease with each other. The last time they met the emotion were running high. As if the cancellation of the wedding lifted some of the burden for both of them.

I speed read the pages tonite. A big TQ to all who kindly shared tonite's episode.
The wedding's off for now and the first thing that come to my mind - oh my we may get that grand ending @moodypie after all. Lol one can only hope.
I am so proud of RaOn tonite. My puppy has become a lioness.
So now both bracelets are off. What does it mean?? Could it be their love are so strong which neither can deny will reunite them later. Destiny can take a backseat now.

An ending with CP being the king..............waiting at the front of the palace decorated with egret flowers (what do you call that huge entrace area)......with huge number of poeple consisting ministers of various rankings, maids, eunuch, palace officers, commoners .......at the waiting area....waiting for a very grand arrival of a palanquin. And slowly beautifully, with Raon coming out from the palanquin wearing the most beautiful, gracious and elegant white hanbok with her hair beautifully done, adorn with flowers, walking towards CP, and CP holding out his hand waiting for Raon to hold his (camera focusing on their hands). And the moment they held hands, everyone kneel giving their blessing and respect for the new going to be king and queen of Joseon.
i would love to see a closure on both their hands held together, since the last dancing scene, in CP's imagination, they never get to hold each other's hand. It would be nice to have an ending with both of them holding each other's hand...as promised...to never let go.

I would like to see something like this in the near future when KYJ becomes legally consenting adult. Maybe MDBTC part 2. They meet again in the future. Can do away with the prim and proper love story then.

When the envoy took Ra On with him and CP looking so hopeless with the Kim's gloating thinking they got him now. Then what happened next was epic. Love love love how the 3 of them, CP, BY and YS combined both their brain and brawn to get rid of the envoy and rescued Ra On.
Just wanna said something about HY . When her father informed her that Premium Kim wanted her as his granddoter in law for YS. She told him I wanna married someone that I want. She wanted to be given the freedom to choose her own partner. Funny that she conveniently forgot her own mantra and failed to comprehend that maybe CP too would like to marry someone he want.

Just watched ep 14. The feel!! When CP tried to wrest that bangle from his wrist, I feel like he trying his darnest to wrest her from his heart. But to no avail. There is no denying she is deeply entrenched in his heart..heck she is part of him. She is his whole world. The helplessness that he felt, the hurt from a broken promise and he is missing her so much despite all that. I was crying so hard along with him
Then I was crying as hard when Ra On cried her heart out by that lake. It was beautiful that scene I admit. And I cried too for YS who was trying to be the pillar of support for Ra On in spite of the hurt that he must felt deep inside. It must hurt him to see her pinning for CP. But he kept all to himself becoz its not her fault she does not return his love. He understood that fundamental fact. Ra On well-being comes first before his.
And poor BY who is now caught in the middle between the rebel and his friendship with CP and Ra On. He is walking on thin ice. I don't want anything bad to happen to my favorite bodyguard.
HY oh HY. I guess you want to own him. Are you thinking of using your position as the crown princess later to will him to your side and to shove your competitor off from his life? And Ra On..why oh why you told HY she is a perfect for him. You knew CP has eyes only for you!! I wonder how HY gonna take it when she discovered the person to whom she talked about her feeling for CP is that other woman in CP's life.

She is still there. Despite being taken as a prisoner by the envoy, getting slapped a few times and nearly being exposed as a gal by Her Evil Highness she continue to stay in the palace. She is in a forbidden relationship with a prince. She knew her position in society. There is no way the palace gonna allow her to be his wife. But still she did not allow any fear of the future uncertainties to stop her from accepting wholeheartedly his love. That took some courage. It is such a pleasure watching these two young love blossom.
Please remember before she entered the palace she is just a simple bright gal living like a regular joe in the street. Unlike CP, BY and YS she was never trained how to fight. . So you won't see her kicking some badass. But she did not hesitate to take the missing dancer place and foiled the Kim's plan. This gal spunk is all in the heart.

Whenever I'm watching sageuk romance especially one that have a link with real historical figure, I need to put my 21st century point of view on hold. In sageuk fidelity for male characters such as kings and noblemen is out of the question. One king can have at his highness disposal a queen, several consorts, concubines, gisaeng etc.
So even if the king is spouting love, the female character will know she will not be the only one in his life. The fact the king bestowed his favor on her is already considered as an honor. The king will never be hers alone.
I guess thats why someone like Ra On will not react as I expect a 21st century gal would do when she heard about the wedding becoz she is expecting something like this to occur sooner or later. She has hardened her heart for this the moment she accepted him in her life. And to not burdened her king she prolly will always show a bright face to him.
Whereas the king will be more devastated becoz he fails to protect his woman from hurting and to keep his promise to treat her like a precious one. It must be frustrated to him to be a king and yet be so helpless.

SpoilerI don't like the novel ending. For 10 episodes they keep showing the Crown Prince can be a great king and suddenly in the end he has to forgo his throne plus one of their children so that he could be with his Ra On.
I guess you really can't have it all.
How I wish this is a pure fictional sageuk drama similar to TMTES so that the story telling is not bound within the constrain of needing it to be historically correct. I mean the CP character so far has been resouceful, smart and bold in dealing with the issues with the Kim clan and the envoy. To say he need to marry for power sake while carrying on a relationship with Ra On on the side and then to walk away from it all in the end. I just don't get it.
To me , the OTP is so solid together the character HY and YS feel like a third wheel intrusion to their love story.
I feel sorry for HY becoz she is making decision on what Ra On has advised her. Ra On told her the person she admires will return her feelings since that person will see her sincerity. Now Ra On already knew who that person is. I wish before the wedding takes place, Ra On will tell HY that she and LY love each other. I mean it will surely be galling to HY to find out later the person she seek advice from is the one who capture LY's heart and there is no room for hers. A bond of sisterhood between Ra On and HY would be nice.
Hmmm...I need to watch again my favourite scenes 1. A sweet scene BY sewing doll with RO, 2. A cute scene RO anticipating punishment kisses 3. LY being prince badass kicking door and putting a sword to that vile envoy's neck. 4. Genteel artistic YS shooting that darn eunuch.

Hello everyone.
HY is falling for LY. So to her maybe when she proposed the marriage of convenience to LY she is thinking this is the way to be closer to him and win his heart. Obviously she is not aware that LY has already gave his heart to someone else.
Poor girl. So not only she will lose out on LY , she also wont have any kid since the marriage will be in name only. I hope she will not turn into a bitter soul over this pact.

Love this drama. The production hit a jackpot.
Fate is trolling Kim JG. After that despicable "mere woman" remarked to SY..fate presented him with SB...haha
The jerk. I bet it frustrated him no end he got to kowtow to his sister the queen dowager..a mere woman.
Tsk tsk... Hwa Jin snitching on SB. Wonder if this was not the first time she seek the jerk. Maybe she was the one who told the jerk about the prince. SY only told her servant. In her head all is fair in war and love.
In a way I felt pity for BI. All this while he has concealed his unrequited love from SY. Guess he did not want to burden her. Good for him. But after meeting a desolate SY, SY suicide and CJ attempted assassination.. he truly believed the way to protect SY is by getting rid of CJ..the source of SY unhappiness. Those events triggered all those pent up emotions to explode and he is making emotional decisions instead of rational ones now.
Pity he did not have his own bamboo forest to vent his frustrations
