To be honest, what I'm most afraid right now, considering we're not even half way through the drama is that after she'll make her choice, one that she's had to suffer greatly to make, there will be something else that will get in the way. Perhaps it might even be Shi-jin himself that, seeing her get in danger because of him, he might make the choice to let her go so that she can be kept safe. And let's not forget Lt General Yoon. I DO NOT TRUST THAT GUY, AT ALL.

Sorry for cutting your post and I have to say I agree with "Timing", but then how will they meet ends if their duties are needed? And all the situations that happened repeat all over again-- a solution for this is what we needed the most. They need adjustments, good understanding and acceptance.

That's what I'm thinking too, there were trailers that showed before this drama was aired when they are in a situation where their life is at stake, not sure what episode will it be shown. I mean, how many events do they need to understand each duties? The conflict will always be there as long as they are doing what they have and vowed to do. Not that I'm jumping into conclusions but there's only 4 scenarios I could think of:

    A. Give up and let go

    B. One will die

    C. One must make a choice to meet what is needed, if giving up one's job then let it be.

    D. Accept and embrace the "reality" for the sake of love.

There is this thought that came to my mind: What if KMY enter military too just like YMJ..but then, even YMJ and SDY has the situation so it's pointless? I don't know..maybe some of you can add to this. :)

I totally understand your point of view and I appreciate that yours is 'inside knowledge' having been in the military yourself. But if you think about this, if there's any profession in the world that's equally shrouded in secrecy, that would be the medical one. Think about it, doctors are bound to secrecy to protect their patients as tightly as the intelligence officers or more. Even more so if, as Doctor Kang does, the patients she treats are VIPs. Do you think she'd be able to tell Shi-jin about any of the ailments afflicting the president of a financial conglomerate? Of course not...and Shi-jin would be smart enough not to ask.

Please don't stone me to death but I feel that she was a little unfair when it came to her negative judgement of Shi-jin's job. She decided from day one that she did not like what he did, and that's even before she actually knew what that was. I understand she was upset about him standing her up not once, but twice. But if you think about it, that was mostly bad luck, in fact, the second time he stood her up, if his call to report had come only five minutes later, she would have received the call from Doctor Lee telling her to come to the hospital and then it would have been her standing him up.

So, even if I understand her disappointment at being stood up, I don't appreciate how she just decided that she didn't like his job when she didn't even know the first thing about the army (not even what a non-commissioned officer was!). I found this to be rather unfair of her, I know he cannot tell her about his job, but she can still learn a fair amount about what life in the army entails without him having to breach any secrecy, and who knows, she might even find that there is a lot of common ground between her job and his, starting with the fact that they're both professions bound to being honourable at all times.

But it's okay, I think that right now, as she sees him in action at the earthquake site she'll see it for herself.

Sorry for quoting your post. :)

Somehow I find your opinion interesting, I couldn't agree with it but then I have to take and understand the point you are trying to say: Dr.KMY is unfair towards Capt. YSJ.

It is pretty obvious that she likes him, no doubt as  with the way she expressed her words and the way talked to him, may it flirty or sarcastic.

They bid their farewells for the second time around when Capt. YSJ asked her about the "kiss". Unfortunately, She wasn't ready to talk about it but then Capt. YSJ has no time and he needs an answer that moment (because he is leaving again). There's a pressure on her side, remember that she is still "confused" and weighing her feelings towards him, her heart is ready but her mind is not.. you can't make a concrete decision in that kind of situation.

Her excuse, him being a soldier, the consequences that she feared of (his life at always at risk, he time is always limited, leaving in the middle of their date..etc.) but that's not the point-- she is actually thinking for a long term relationship and how will it happen with a guy like him?

She just pointed out what's in their, the reality. At the very moment, how will she find a strong reason to be with him when he is actually "leaving" her at the same time? When he can't be with her when she needs him? And that is what holding her back. She is not being unfair, but being coward because she is not yet ready with the consequences.

Remember that she was upset the next morning, uttering the words about him leaving her without giving second chances, it is clear that there is a regret. I hope that they could talk once again about their budding "relationship " not in a rush, not with pressure but in a perfect time and hopefully Dr.KMY is brave enough to accept him no matter what.

I can't really say what is my favorite episode so far because each of it has important messages to learn from. About episode 6? I think this IG post will explain it.

I have a question for those of you who speak Korean well enough to notice the various levels of speech formality: when Shi-jin and Dae-young are talking to each other outside of, shall we call it, "business hours", Dae-young seems to drop his formal speech when talking to Shi-jin but when they're in their missions and Shi-jin is his commanding officer he reverts back to formal speech, am I right?

I'm  not a native speaker but I think you're right, you'll notice it the way they converse while on duty compare to scenes where they talk as "buddies"/ friends while on leave. It's  an insult to a senior officer if a lower rank talks to him in banmal  right? Regardless of their friendship, seniority comes first while on duty. But I hope someone who is well familiar with Korean language clarifies this (not that we are looking for a fault or something). :)

Also, I think they'll have a moment of realisation next week, regarding both their jobs/beliefs. In the preview we see that the surgery scene from all the teasers will be shown. MY and her team have to operate on someone while other people are also in the operating room (including SJ and his team), some being held at gunpoint. My guess is that they'll both see what the other does and have a better understanding of each other. Something that they lacked back in Seoul.

    Sorry to cut your post.

I don't know what happened  but the gifs  seemed to disappear. Lol

Anyways, regarding about the scene you were talking about, I guess the patient is a VIP who needs an emergency medical assistance. I think that person is a villain, noticed how Capt. YSJ and his troops pointing guns to the other group? As if they are protecting the medical team. And I'm guessing this is the where Dr. KMY and her team where abducted in purpose of saving that one important person, YSJ and his team came to save them. And like what you said, this is the first step for both of them to learn and understand each other's nature of work.

Ugh! If only I could drag the days just to see the next episodes. Lol it's  a torture to wait.

@stargazer187.thanks! It's  nice to see you too. I noticed some familiar accounts in here, glad that we have a reunion and to spazz  once again with another awesome drama. ;)

  5. Finally got a chance to sit and write in here.

Episode 2 was such a roller coaster ride to our leads. The clash of ideologies and beliefs taken from their own profession: Can't blame them to stand for what they believe in, that's what they do and they understand what exactly the purpose are.

Capt. YSJ: "I am a soldier. Soldiers follow orders. Sometimes what I believe is good and right..means something else to another. Even then, I follow orders to complete my mission. So far, I lost three comrades during such missions. The reason we do what we do is because it must be done. My family and I. Your family and you. And everyone we hold dear. I believe that I fight for  the peace and freedom of the land we live on."

Dr. KMY: "I'm a Doctor. I believe life is sanctified, and that no value or ideology is above it.

It's sad that they have to parted that way, but I'm glad that they figured out their differences and the "conflicts" that early, a mature approach I must say. Both are dedicated to each profession, willing to sacrifice their budding romance ( priorities, principles and loyalty, you ask? Better ask these two and they know what exactly that means. LOL)

I guess this is why the writer wrote the progress of their romance in such a fast pace but parted their ways just because of that kind of "conflict". 2 episodes and it already shows how important "priorities" "beliefs" "ideologies" and "sacrifices" are.

Although I wanted to add something about KMY's profession as a doctor: Saving life as based on what has been decided (plan of treatment)--- the question is, Will it always be effective and successful? The answer is "No", not because you failed but because it is not you who will decide when "death" comes; You think you did what is right and what is good but death happens, You think you made the right decision but death comes. Same goes with Capt. YSJ's words "Sometimes what I believe is good and right..means something else to another." There is a similarity but with different approach and that's the problem. I hope they will realize that in the next episodes, that they still share the same purpose it is about saving "humanity"

I can't wait till next week. This drama keeps on surprising me. Did I say how good the actors are? Gotta love the characters, their witty cheesy and bold lines.. very amusing and interesting. :D

I wanted to run for Dr. KMY and put a safety gear on her eyes, if this patient has blood problems/ diseases, God forbid goodbye to her profession and career. Precautions..precautions..

  6. Done watching with Eng sub, as mentioned above the concerns that I mentioned in my previous post are answered, well some of it. LOL

    Spoiler

This is why its better to wait than be confused. Live streaming is not a good idea for someone like who don't understand Hangeul.

I'm still digesting their characters, both have alpha personalities and surprisingly  they became comfortable  in instant. I think the writers' intention here is show their connection and budding love story in that short span of time.. although I will still stick to my impression that it's like it in a "rush". As what I mentioned it's more like "love at first sight", "Destiny" or "soul mate" concept. Sure thing that Capt. YSJ is not the type of person who likes beating the bush, the personalities that he showed at the first episode was a type of guy who is very bold and straighforward---- this is why he didn't waste time to asked her to meet again because one thing is for sure, he likes her (its obvious with the way he looked at her) given her beauty but I think Capt. YSJ find her attractive in the way she treated him.. he is an alpha male-- they don't easily accept a defeat. So he was a bit challenged by her treatment and quite amused with her attitude (note that this is not a bad thing, sometimes this type of situation lead to an amazing thing which I believe will happen in the next episodes) and he likes it, he is enjoying the idea of it.

While Dr. KMY confused me, is she that easily to trust people and let her guard down in instant? Or there's a deeper reason why she didn't hesitate to meet him? ( I understand that some of us here says that "who can't resist sjk 's charm? Who can't  resist this hot guy capt. YSJ?" And that's not the case, we are talking about the different character here..sure thing that this is fictional but hey, where else do we get the idea of fiction without a touch of reality?) I hope to see more of her character in the next episodes, tbh I like the way she treated him at the hospital --- she's knows where to stand and be bold enough to keep it until she gets what's she wants, alpha female indeed. I have no idea how will these two interact in the next episodes, but I have hunch that it will never be boring. Haha

So far, I am enjoying it.. Love all the action scenes and their  bromance, such a cute friendship that they have.

    Spoiler

I noticed that there are few comments in here that most of us don't want to see, I say let them be because that's their opinion and tbh, you'll learn from it if you tried to understand what are they trying to convey. Don't just attack them with your opinion as if you are in the right track and everything that you said are correct. You say this story is "fictional"  while they are more on "reality". The purpose of this drama is to entertain and educate people, remember that there is "medical" and "military" concept in here.. a writer don't just write something out of these concepts without doing some research don't you think? One mistake and it could mislead the viewers. Believe it or not, people get some ideas from the things that you watched and apply it to reality, unconsciously. Be glad that there are people in here who joined to share some of their opinions and share what they know. Let's  us all be friendly and have a good sharing of thoughts and opinions.. its good to learn from other people. ;)

@mktb the part about if SJK asked her if she like him or not?

I thought its not the questions, even thought i dont really understand what he truly said, but what i heard was "about the plan when they will meet again? So he asked her if she like to meet him again?or not? -> To watch movie"

SJK: i want to meet you, but not at hospital, i hope we meet at different place, to watch movie ?

and he asked her again "ppalliii, chua he shirooo? As "come on,ok? Or not?"

SHK said: chua. Means ok ! Hehehe

Thank you for this! This is why I don't want to watch it via live stream, I just can't resist sjk. Lol

Anyway, regardless of what he asked: the thought is still "rushing" and Dr. KMY has no time to think (note that they just met), that's why I'm kind of surprised with her answer. Maybe that's her character? So I guess our OTPs our very bold and straight forward individuals. Hmmmm... interesting

  8. Thanks for the videos, photos and gifs everyone! Sure do lot of fans are waiting for SJK's comeback. I managed to watched it live stream and kind of confused how did they actually interact and decided to date at the end of the episode? I find it very fast tbh. Anyway, here are the list that I wanted to know and be clarify in the next episodes: ( I sounded like a demanding fan. Sorry. Lol)

    > What does Dr. KMY has to do with the video clip captured at CCTV? Does she really need to see that?

    >Capt. YSJ doing some workouts while he is injured. You need to take care of your wound captain!

    > They already exchanged their phone numbers? Or did I missed it?

    > They to decided to meet after that one encounter, but then capt ysj  had an emergency and just to be assured he asked Dr. KMY if she likes him, surprisingly (well, I'm not really sure what exactly her character is) she said "yes" in an instant. Love at first sight I must say?

Note that I managed to watched half of first episode so I guess I did missed some portions of it and I don't think missing half of it could take some scenes that fast as if the writer was in a hurry? But of course it doesn't mean that I will drop this drama just because I'm not satisfied with the first episode, I am pretty sure there will be some sort of explanations, flashbacks and follow through with the story.

I guess the writer wanted to emphasize the conflict through war, how will they continue  their love story once their duties are needed?

Too many questions to ask-- need to watch the next episodes to know the answer, that's the best attitude. ;)

SJK Baidu twitter account just shared this link:

    http://media.daum.net/entertain/enews/poll?mode=result&pid=8a90c4384dc3a79c0152f398a46504f2

I'm worried now. Looks like people are more interested in a rom-com than a melo. It's just a small poll, the respondents are a little over 2000 and South Koreans who watch drama are a lot more than that. That being said, i'm still worried and i wanna know the overall public opinion. Is there anyone here who can share some insights on the matter? Are koreans eagerly waiting for DOTS just like us and how's their expectation of the drama?

May it be an important poll or not, it doesn't really reflect the interest of viewers as a whole, remember that this is done without an specific number of people who participated so there is no definite reason to see this as a valid argument which dramas will do well. It may give us hints which interest the most by the viewers but it doesn't mean that the people who actually voted for it will not see the other drama when it airs.. there is no fix result unless the official rating the drama itself is out. In the end, what matters the most is how will the viewers react once they see the drama: will they still continue to watch it or not?

Lets just hope for the best.

I've seen some interesting infos shared in here, although I got some worries after I saw the teasers, it's like I already saw the whole drama--- too much spoilers (so sorry for my statement) I just hope that it is not what I think it is. Anyway...Thank y'all for the updates.

Agreed girls! This trailer is a bomb! Me and my other girls (Chaeki Song JoongKi and Moon Chae Won fangirls. Haha ) were so stunned with the fantastic quality! The cinematography is priceless! A blockbuster trailer indeed! Everyone is so eager to watch it, can't wait for its airing.. two more months is such a long wait.

About the negative comments and haters out there.. just go and find other dramas to spazz on and hopefully heal your heart and fill it with love., don't waste your time hating on this drama which is ironic that you even have a time to watch it then complain later, what's the point? smh

Enough with the hate and spread the love.

Happy New Year guys! Let us all wish everyone a great year ahead! ;)

  11. Goodness! Another teaser? Another interaction between our leads! And uh-oh I sense a little argument in here? If I'm not wrong the way SHK delivered her lines is not from someone who possess a weak or submissive character..I don't know. Captain YSJ sounds teasing this time.. he is trying to provoke something over Dr. KMY. Interesting..

Now all I want is the English Subtitle. Haha

  12. After reading all the posts in here, I'd realized how I missed a lot. I didn't know that there such different reactions between knetz and internationalnetz, which falls in between two concerns: the writer (and her previous works) and the lines in 20sec teaser. I got a lot to say from a point of view of someone who doesnt really care about the writer, cheesy nor whatever negative concerns about the drama, you will miss a lot if you limit and focus on such things, why don't just give it a go and see it for yourself? If you don't like it, then drop it and move on, find something that will fit your taste. If it works for you then that's great! I've seen a lot of dramas, whatever genre it is,  and there were times that I didn't even know who the leads are. I dropped some even though I liked the leads, some were not just according to my taste, I got bored..etc. Did I waste my time? No. Because If didn't give a try then I probably won't see other dramas that will exceed my expectations. I've got new favorites and learned that there's more in kdramaland that has to offer. This won't happen if limit my choices at such.

The 20 sec teaser showed who and what the characters are, kudos to the actors who did great portraying really well. Cheesy lines? Oh please.. just let it go.. what else could a guy say in such situation? Consider that he himself is a man with dignity and pride? We didn't even know what happened beforehand why they looked so serious and all? It was 20 secs and yet those lines gave justice as what the characters are. The lead guy may sound like the "typical jerk" as some pointed out while the lead girl looked like a "typical submissive" one.. what else? I have to admit I cringed a little with the lines but I have to think for awhile what's the story behind it? Why did he acted that way? Then the answers will only come out once we watch the drama. Just let go the idea of writer's style etc. -- who knows if she has more to offer? There's always a room for improvement after all.

Let us just all spread a positive vibes and hope for the best for this drama. Fighting!

  13. Hi @Jillia! We don't need to argue about  it and i didn't mean to offend you with what I've said. I'm not saying you to stop (or any interpretation that you think,) I'm just a little worried and i thought giving my own opinion and concern is fine since this is what "forums" all about like you've said. Given our rights at this forum, of course we can say anything what we want, we can criticize people and talk about their flaws-- that's fine, like what you mentioned even our own biases is not an exemption, I fully understand what you are trying to imply and definitely not gonna argue about it. I didn't know that my "concern" turned out to be an "offensive statement". Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say, it is not meant to offend you guys but as a friendly reminder instead.

  14. Hey girls! It's been a long time since I posted here. It's good to see new toast even though NG ended 3 years ago. Haha And yes, this ship is still sailing, you probably don't know but we are active in a different world-- the world of Line chat. Lol Anyway, it's funny how you girls disagree on one thing then both agree on another, I'm worried though about you girls talking about shk. Please be a little cautious, we are in an open forum and her fans might see such comments..we don't want to start a fandom fight here at our thread. Just a little reminder my chingus. Have a good day!
